08 Jan 2025105. How Can We Cultivate a Sense of Safety to Overcome Anxiety?00:21:40

In this episode of the Anxiety RX Podcast, we dive into the fundamental concept of safety.

I share personal stories about my father's struggles with mental health during the holidays and how these experiences left me feeling unsafe and on edge as a child.

Feeling safe is such an important part of healing from anxiety, so I talk about ways to create that sense of safety for yourself. I include simple but effective strategies like mindful breathing and self-soothing techniques. More than anything, I want to remind listeners that healing takes time and effort, but it’s possible to find those small moments of safety and start easing the constant state of hypervigilance.

Thank you for listening, and you can find me on IG: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.

In this episode of The AnxietyRX Podcast, I’m chatting with another MBRX student, Katherine from Calgary.

Katherine's got a story to tell – she's been dealing with anxiety her whole life, it’s been a tough road, and it got really tough when her dad got sick and passed away when she was a kid.

We talk about different ways to manage anxiety, like meditation and body-focused therapies, how childhood trauma can stick with you, and how important it is to connect with your emotions and heal.

In this episode, I'm diving deep into the nitty-gritty of anxiety.

Let me tell you, it's not just about your thoughts. There's a bigger picture here.

07 Jul 2024Understanding Anxiety in Men00:21:31

Hey everyone, Dr. Russ Kennedy here! Today on the AnxietyRX Podcast, we're tackling a topic that's close to my heart: anxiety in men and boys.

We all see it, right? Guys seem to just bottle everything up. But here's the thing - anxiety doesn't discriminate! In this episode, I'm gonna explain why even though some guys might seem cool as a cucumber, they could be silently freaking out.

We're gonna unpack how society basically tells men to "toughen up" and "be a man", not exactly helpful advice when you're feeling anxious. We'll dig into why guys might be hesitant to reach out for help, and how these patterns often start when they're just young boys.

I'm gonna share some tips on how to build better support networks for the men in your life, and how to have real conversations that go beyond the usual "man up" routine.

This episode is a must-listen if you want to understand the men in your life better.

Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.

Hey everyone, Dr. Russ here! In this episode, I'm teaming up with Craig Goldberg to talk about something we all deal with – anxiety and stress.

I'm so interested in Craig's journey. He discusses his transition from a stressful lifestyle to finding solace in sound healing, explaining the science behind brainwave states and the therapeutic potential of vibration and how it connects to your whole body – mind, body, and spirit!

We'll also talk about how our childhood experiences can shape us, and how combining what you learn with a little bit of spirituality can be a powerful recipe for inner peace.

So, if you're ready to ditch the jitters and find your calm, this episode is for you!

07 May 2024The Gap Between You and Your Anxiety: Finding Healing in the Space Between00:19:22

Hey everyone, Dr. Russ here!

This week on The AnxietyRX Podcast, we're diving deep into the world of anxiety – not just the racing thoughts, but the physical sensations too. We'll explore how our bodies actually throw us an "alarm" when we're anxious, and why learning to recognize these signs is key to healing.

I'll be sharing my own story about anxiety, and how stuff like social media can seriously stoke the flames. We'll also talk about this concept of "the gap" – that space between feeling anxious and reacting to it.

I'll also be teaching you a technique called "objecting without contracting." No fancy jargon here, just a practical way to connect with your inner child and offer some compassion in those anxious moments.

By learning to acknowledge and process this internal "alarm," I believe we can completely transform our relationship with anxiety. So, if you're ready to ditch the anxiety cycle and find some healing, this episode is for YOU!

Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.

22 Apr 2024You Don't Have To THINK Everything You FEEL00:16:15

Hey everyone, Dr. Russ here. This episode of The AnxietyRX Podcast hits a little closer to home than usual. My mom's health is declining, and on top of that, I've been editing my book. Let's just say my brain is fried.

Because of this personal situation, you might notice some bumps in the podcast this week. I apologize in advance, and I truly appreciate your understanding.

That being said, the show must go on! And today's topic is something we can all relate to: emotions. You know, those things we sometimes spend way too much time overthinking?

Here's the thing: what if the key to feeling better wasn't about overanalyzing every single feeling, but actually allowing ourselves to feel them?

There's a power in simply experiencing emotions authentically, without dissecting them to pieces.

This episode is for anyone who's tired of being a prisoner of their own thoughts. We'll explore the science behind emotions, but also the real human experience of feeling them.

Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.

Welcome to another episode of The Manxiety Podcast.

This episode's about something close to all our hearts: our kids. We all want them to thrive, but sometimes our good intentions can backfire. You know, like pushing them a little too hard.

Dr. Nima explains how we, as parents, can unknowingly fuel anxiety in our little ones. By working through our own stuff, we can build those strong, secure bonds with our kids and ditch the anxiety.

We also chat about some cool brain science – confirmation bias (seeing what we want to see) and polyvagal theory (how our nervous system works in relationships).

Basically, understanding ourselves is key to raising happy, healthy kiddos.

Want to learn more? Dr. Nima is cooking up a workshop called "Connecting to the Anxious Child". Click here for more details: https://go.drnima.com/6qeuz

Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety? You're not alone. In this podcast, we'll be diving deep into what makes anxiety tick, but ditch the stuffy lectures.

We'll chat about how stuff from our childhood can show up in our grown-up worries, and how our bodies can get stuck in a bit of an alarm state.

But hey, there's good news! We'll explore ways to connect with that inner part of us that feels scared (think inner child) and learn to deal with those uncomfortable feelings head-on.

No more just trying to white-knuckle our way through – we'll be talking about healing that deep-seated anxiety, not just covering it up.

03 Mar 2024Can Hypnosis Help Control Anxiety and Trauma?00:56:41

Hey gang! Welcome to another episode of the AnxietyRX Podcast. In the latest episode of my podcast, I had the delightful opportunity to engage in an enlightening conversation with none other than Dr. David Spiegel, a true virtuoso in the realm of hypnosis.

Dr. Spiegel, a Wilson Professor and Associate Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine, is not only a prolific author and researcher but also the co-founder and chief scientific officer of the innovative self-hypnosis app, Reveri.

He illuminated the ways in which hypnosis can be a powerful ally in managing anxiety and healing from trauma. Together, we explored the fascinating interplay between the mind and the body, and we spoke about the insula – a critical part of our brain that helps us decide where to focus our attention.

Dr. Spiegel recounted an inspiring tale about a patient of his, underscoring the profound importance of feeling empowered in one's own journey toward wellness and self-perception.

We delved into the nature of worry, recognizing its intent to safeguard us, yet acknowledging the detrimental impact of self-criticism.

And here's something truly exciting – the app he’s been developing called Reveri, harnesses the power of hypnosis to tackle various challenges.

It's absolutely captivating to consider how hypnosis can facilitate a deeper connection with our inner selves and enhance our sense of autonomy.

And guess what? My team has added timestamps for you below to scan what topics are covered in this episode and if you want to jump ahead you can!

26 Feb 2024Wholeness Within: Healing Anxiety by Reconnecting with Our Past00:17:57

Welcome to the AnxietyRx podcast. Today, I want to explore how trauma becomes entrenched in our bodies, forming the basis of an ongoing cycle of anxiety. My theory suggests that trauma isn't just a mental construct; it's physically stored in our bodies, perpetuating what I call the "alarm anxiety cycle."

Contrary to common belief, anxiety isn't just a mental issue; it's rooted in unresolved trauma. True healing requires reconnecting with our younger selves, acknowledging and resolving the stored trauma within our bodies.

My program, MBRX (Mind Body Prescription for Permanent Anxiety Healing) is transformative because, it allows you to bridge the gap between mind and body, so we can confront and heal the root causes of our anxiety.

It's about embracing our entire selves, from the wounded child within to the present adult, and fostering a sense of wholeness.

18 Feb 2024Drama Bonding: From Chaos to Calm00:47:07

In this enlightening conversation with Dr. Scott Lyons, a holistic psychologist and mind-body medicine specialist, we explore the relationship between trauma, healing, and the mind-body connection.

The conversation touches on the concept of "drama bonding," where individuals find themselves drawn to relationships or situations that replicate past traumas, leading to a cycle of stress and dysfunction.

Exploring the physiological aspects of healing, we discuss the impact of stress on the body and the brain's response to pain.

Throughout the discussion, we encourage a holistic approach to healing that honors the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, challenging conventional narratives around healing, inviting listeners to explore new pathways towards wholeness and self-discovery.

13 Feb 2024Fawn Response: The Silent Struggle01:09:53

Today I have a very special guest, Dr. Nima Rahmany, a good friend and a retired chiropractor who now teaches people how to break free from trauma bonds.

In this episode we explore the concept of 'fawning' - a trauma response where individuals suppress their true feelings to please others, affecting their identity and mental health.

We discuss how this behavior, rooted in childhood experiences, leads to chronic anxiety and physical health issues like chronic pain and autoimmune disorders.

The key to overcoming this is recognizing these patterns, developing a stronger relationship with oneself, and learning to respect personal boundaries.

We emphasize the importance of repairing relationships and building resilience through empathy and understanding.

This episode is a deep dive into self-discovery and establishing healthier connections.

13 Feb 2024The Manxiety Podcast: The Anxiety of a Trauma Bond00:43:25

Today, I am excited to share with you the first episode of The Manxiety Podcast, hosted by my colleague, Dr. Nima Rahmany.

As I will be an occasional guest on the show, I'm thrilled to kick off our dialogue with a deep dive into the complex topic of trauma bonds.

Join us as we chat about how these bonds from childhood impact our relationships.

Trauma bonds are like glitches from our past that mess up how we relate to others. It's a cycle—the cycle involves love bombing, devaluing, and discarding.

We talk about how things like oxytocin (the love hormone) and daydreams play into these bonds, making them feel addictive and hard to break.

But here's the kicker: realizing what's going on and seeing our relationships for what they really are can help us shake these patterns.

We also tackle the tough stuff—like why men often struggle to ask for help and why it's key to be proactive in breaking free from these bonds.

It's not easy to ditch the shame and masks we've been carrying, but by sharing our own stories and seeking practical advice, we can start to untangle these knots.

Thank you for listening, you can find me @theanxietymd and Dr. Nima @drnima on IG if you have any questions.

10 Dec 2023The Power of Faith in Trauma Recovery00:22:07

In this thought-provoking podcast episode, I dive deep into the impact of faith and trauma in our lives.

Childhood trauma often shakes our faith in the world, burdening us with a belief that everything relies on our shoulders, especially for sensitive individuals.

The central message revolves around faith as an antidote to worry and anxiety.

I discuss the tendency to lose our authentic selves while trying to protect others, even if those we protect are negative influences, while introducing the concept of "objecting without contracting," where we refrain from tightening or resisting when faced with worries.

This practice can break the cycle of anxiety and help us trust that the universe can protect us, ultimately leading to a more secure and peaceful life.

20 Nov 2023The Inner Critic: Exploring JABS in Anxiety00:21:54

In this episode, I want to introduce you to an acronym I've created called JABS: Judgment, Abandonment, Blame, and Shame, primarily directed inward.

These emotional punches not only impact us but reverberate through our relationships and daily lives.

Anxiety often has roots in unresolved childhood trauma stored in our bodies, not just our thoughts. Self-judgment can activate a cycle of self-criticism, hindering our nervous system regulation.

Healing begins with self-awareness. Recognizing self-judgment, self-abandonment, self-blame, and self-shame patterns is the first step toward transformation. Empower yourself by establishing a compassionate connection with your inner child. You have the power to change your narrative.

I would like to note that this podcast is going to be REPETITIVE and it’s designed that way. It is repetitive because I want to get into the deeper subcortical parts of your brain where the voice of the inner critic is stored.

Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.

By addressing these aspects, we can rewire our inner narratives, foster healing, creativity, and a shift from fear to love.

22 Oct 2023Primal Instincts: Science, Psychology, Fear01:09:49

Dive into the intricate dance between our primal instincts and modern anxieties. In this week's episode, my friend Arash Javanbakht, a psychiatrist and neuroscientist, and I unpack how our 'animal brains' still dictate much of our reactions, particularly fear - a survival tool turned complex emotion. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. We'll journey through the intriguing landscape of human emotion, discussing how our past traumas shape our present relationships, whom we're drawn to or what feels 'normal,' even when it's harmful and why calmness can feel so unsettling. Learn how our 'worry buckets' compel us toward a cycle of anxiety, how our brain's confirmation bias reinforces our fears, and why those old fear programs never truly leave us. This is more than a discussion—it's a pathway to understanding and harnessing your brain's ancient mechanisms in your modern life.

16 Oct 2023Anxiety Simplified: The Real Reason You Feel Anxious00:11:41

Welcome to another episode of the AnxietyRx podcast. Today I dive into the roots of anxiety.

Dr. Gordon Neufeld once said, "All anxiety is separation anxiety," and I couldn't agree more. Anxiety often comes from two key separations.

First, there's the disconnect between our mind and body. When we get stuck in our heads, we lose touch with our bodies and the calming sensations of the present moment.

The second separation is between our adult and child selves. The adult might avoid the child self's pain, creating a trust issue.

Early traumas often create this background alarm in our bodies, as I talk about in my book AnxietyRx. Our brain interprets this alarm through interoception, shaping negative narratives based on our deepest fears. The more we focus on these negative thoughts, the more they manifest in our lives.

To break this cycle, we must reconnect with our bodies and the inner child. It might feel forced at first, but it's the path to genuine healing. Other therapies are just coping mechanisms, not real healing.

The key to lasting comfort and healing is integrating our mind, body, adult self, and child self.

25 Jul 2023Healing Anxiety: Embracing the Alarm00:22:43

In this episode, we explore the profound connection between anxious thoughts and the ALARM sensation stored in our bodies since childhood.

Surprisingly, that very ALARM sensation is your inner child or younger self.

When we feel this alarm, our instinct is to go into our heads and worry – a coping mechanism from our childhood that only intensifies our anxiety as adults.

To heal, you must find the alarm (and therefore your younger self) in your body and STAY with it WITHOUT reflexively going up in to your head with worry.

When you stay with the alam, you metabolize and neutralize it and rob the worries of their energy source and that is how you truly heal from chronic worry.

Tune in as we delve into this transformative journey of embracing the alarm, nurturing our inner child, and discovering the path to healing from chronic anxiety.

17 Jul 2023Breaking the Silence: Exploring Hidden Trauma in ”Good” Childhoods00:25:25

Many people I encounter express that their childhoods were positive, yet they continue to experience trauma. There are a couple of reasons why this might occur.

Firstly, some people may have difficulty recognizing the presence of their own trauma. It can be challenging to acknowledge and process the painful experiences from our pasts.

Secondly, individuals might not have been aware that they experienced a significant separation from their parent(s) during their formative years.

Alternatively, they may have inherited trauma from their parents and grandparents, which can deeply impact their well-being.

Recognizing the origin of our trauma can be immensely beneficial in addressing and healing chronic emotional dysregulation.

It is important to remember that you might be carrying the weight of something that was never meant to be yours to bear in the first place.

19 Jun 2023From Anxiety to Empathy: A Father’s Day Reflection00:35:07

On this Father's Day 2023 I talk about my father and the role his mental illness played in my own anxiety and how he is a driving force in my desire to help others with emotional pain.

I talk about the role of our parents and how we tend to look at our mother and father in a one dimensional way that keeps us trapped in our own emotional dysregulation, and how we can begin to expand our subjective perception of our parents to help us heal.

11 Jun 2023Embracing Innocence: The Path To Healing Anxiety00:21:36

Developmental psychologist Dr. Gordon Neufeld says that "All anxiety is separation anxiety", and I add that it's fundamentally a separation from within yourself.

Stress and trauma in childhood that is not resolved by a loving, attuned parent or caregiver slowly splits us from the inside into a REACTIVE and an AUTHENTIC self.

Like splitting the atom, this separation within ourselves creates a tremendous amount of energy that becomes stored in our system in a form I call ALARM.

You can't heal from anxiety until you resolve this split and you can't resolve this ALARM and heal until you fully see, accept and embrace your own innocence.

Therefore until you stop judging yourself and instead fully embrace your innocent authentic (child) self, you will always struggle with chronic emotional pain.

05 Jun 2023Unveiling the Alpha Child: Healing People Pleasing, Over-Responsibility and Anxiety00:21:42

Sorry i've been away for the last few weeks.

I've been in Europe doing some promotion for the book and the MBRX program and then I got sick...

This week's episode I delve into the topics of over-dependence, over-responsibility, people pleasing, and the concept of alpha children. I talk about how we learn to read other people's needs when we are children and slowly neglect our own and how this self neglect and lack of self-care becomes an insidious and destructive program that separates us from our own selves internally and creates a tremendous amount of alarm.

Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.

P.S My ability to look after myself has increased exponentially, and I can still feed my need to help others by writing my book ANXIETY RX and creating MBRX while at the same time looking after myself.

30 Apr 2023How Responsible Are You For Others Emotions?00:24:13

Many people with anxiety and alarm have a common trait of feeling overly responsible for the emotions of others.

As someone who has experienced this myself, I know it can stem from childhood experiences where we felt the need to take care of our parents.

It is a very anxiety provoking situation to be in control of YOUR OWN EMOTIONS let alone those of your parents, partners and children.   In this episode, I want to draw attention to how you leave your own emotional needs to automatically and reflexively look after others, and how that just makes you more anxious and alarmed.   We will explore how to identify and break free from the pattern of automatically putting others first, so that you can take care of your own emotional needs while still being there for the important people in your life.

Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.

23 Apr 2023Orienting To Pleasure For Growth00:18:53

When we have trauma as children our nervous system often learns that life is about avoiding pain as opposed to attending to pleasure.

In other words, we adopt an unconscious strategy of chronically seeking survival instead of enjoying our growth.

As we grow up, automatically, unconsciously and reflexively attuning to potential threats became a "default setting" in our mind and body that keeps us trapped in anxiety and alarm.

We must first be aware of this unconscious default setting to pain and begin to make the CONSCIOUS INTENTION to attend and attune to pleasure instead.

In this change in conscious intention towards growth and pleasure, we begin to overwrite the unconscious setting of protection.

09 Apr 2023Healing Your Anxiety [Coming Soon]00:19:50

The biggest question I get asked is "How do I heal the ALARM in my system?".

For months I've been working on this anxiety relief program from scratch and it's very close to being ready.

This program is designed to show you what anxiety truly is and how you can heal from it.

It contains video and audio components to help you heal your anxiety and not just cope with it.

Along with neuroscience based tools to help you overcome anxiety in your mind a specific guided meditation called YOGA NIDRA is included that has been specifically created to help recover from chronic anxiety that is stored deep in your body.

26 Mar 2023Rising Above Anxiety: Breaking Free From VICTIM MENTALITY00:23:11

I've never met ANYONE who suffered from chronic anxiety and didn't see themselves as a victim, including and especially ME.

For the most part, anxious people were victims of trauma or unresolved emotional pain and our nervous system was trained to be on defense, which will never allow us to heal from anxiety.

To heal, we must see our victim mentality and go TOWARDS our fears and not retreat from it.

19 Mar 2023The Root Cause Of Anxiety00:51:58

This episode, is the most practical and emotionally vulnerable episode of the ANXIETY Rx PODCAST so far.

In this episode, I talk about the root cause of anxiety being a separation of your adult self from your child self and the practice I do every morning of listening to Peter Gabriel's "IN YOUR EYES" because the words are about creating a connection with his younger self.

I drill down to the meaning of the lyrics in relation to the art and science of healing your anxiety and alarm so you can understand create your own healing...

Our inner child sends a signal to us when we feel anxious, and we should be grateful for it.

When we show kindness and care to this younger version of ourselves, we can begin to feel better and move away from anxiety.

26 Feb 2023Uncertainty00:25:45

In this episode, I talk about how anxiety and difficulty accepting uncertainty are related, which is often caused by traumatic experiences during childhood.

I explain that uncertainty can trigger worry and anxiety in the body.

To overcome anxiety, it is important to become more tolerant of uncertainty by recognizing and accepting it, as well as understanding and addressing the cause of the alarm in the body.

In the healing process, I emphasize the importance of awareness and gratitude.

12 Feb 2023Answering Your Anxiety Questions! Part 100:37:57

I answer your anxiety questions in this episode! The following are the questions I answered (in detail):

1. "When is ALARM a good thing and should be paid attention to?"

2. "Is there a way to "unlearn" the bodily feelings of anxiety? After I had my first panic attack my body remembered how it felt and now it goes straight to it when I'm stressed."

3. "How can I tell if I'm having an anxiety attack every time I feel pain or get sick, or if it's a genuine pain and illness?"

4. "What are your thoughts on practices to regulate the nervous system to help with alarm in the body?"

When I asked my Instagram audience for questions, I received hundreds, so I'll be making more episodes to answer as many as possible.

I hope you enjoyed this episode!

05 Feb 2023ARE YOU AN ALPHA CHILD?00:30:47

If you didnt get your childhood needs met by an attuned, attached parent, your anxiety and alarm may be fed by a controlling "Alpha Complex".

This episode will help you see if you were an Alpha Child who is now an Alpha Adult - and what you can do about minimizing its impact on your anxiety and alarm.

Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG here: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.

P.S If you’re anything like me, you’ve tried every traditional therapy under the sun (CBT, medications, counseling, the list goes on…) and still can’t escape from anxiety. So, don’t you think it’s time you took an unconventional path?

It took me years of struggling through painful, debilitating worrying before I finally unlocked new, non-traditional methods to ease and heal my pain.

I wrote Anxiety Rx so that you don’t have to suffer as I did — so you can finally understand and move away from negative rumination and worry, moving instead (perhaps for the very first time) towards a sense of peace and comfort in your own skin.

With degrees and advanced training in medicine, neuroscience, and developmental psychology, plus experience with the “unscientific,” psychedelics, somatic intuition, and the inherent wisdom of the body, I’ve put everything I know together and created an approach that blends both the art and science of healing from chronic anxiety and worry.

If you’re ready for a brand new prescription that will guide you to heal your anxiety, not just cope with it, this is the book for you.

Health anxiety has very little to do with your health!

For us worriers, becoming fixated on your health (Google it!) is seen as a more “acceptable” option than dealing with old pain.

We resist feeling the alarm energy in our body by being endlessly trapped in the (health) worries of our mind.

08 Dec 2021Failing To See The Cues Of Safety00:15:03

Many of us worriers have a "sunscreen" view of the world in that we block out 99% of the safety that is all around us.

If you can't see and commit to the world as a safe place, of course we are going to stay in ALARM.

If we believe the focus on threat keeps us safe, we will experience the exact opposite!

Thank you for listening, you can find me on IG @theanxietymd

01 Sep 2021Do you allow yourself to RECEIVE?00:10:40

Do you allow yourself to receive? Or are you doing most of the people pleasing/giving to others?

When we see the world as a place that does not nourish us enough, as was often our childhood circumstance, we learn not to expect the world to help us, and actually CREATE a world that stops feeding us.

We often BLOCK and RESIST any help the world does give us, and then blame the world for not filling our needs... INABILITY TO RECEIVE is a chapter in my book "Anxiety Rx", and if we don't see how we block good things coming to us, we will sabotage our own perception of the world, seeing it as a place where we don't get enough.

But often we do get "enough", but just resist receiving it!

14 Aug 20212 factors that make Anxiety & Alarm SO MUCH WORSE00:14:17

Anxiety and alarm are made so much worse by two things: UNCERTAINTY and RESISTANCE.

In fact, combining the two, it is our resistance to uncertainty and the alarm that creates in our physiology that is the origin of our worries.

In this episode of the Anxiety Rx Podcast, I talk about recognizing and neutralizing these two factors that make our lives so much more painful than it has to be.

30 Jun 2021Why MD's Can't Heal Anxiety00:23:05

In this episode I talk about why your MD can't heal your anxiety.

We MDs are not trained (or aware) of the impact of childhood wounding and the ALARM it creates in the body, and even if we were, we don't know how to deal with it other than to prescribe medication.

Even psychiatrists (MD's who specialize in psychiatry) are doing much less therapy, moving more to medications as well, and "Pills Don't Teach Skills" - In this episode I share some "skills" so that you can heal your anxiety.

22 Jun 2021Dark Night of the Soul00:27:47

I've had many people ask me about psychedelics in the past couple of weeks. Specifically, if psychedelics could help them overcome their anxiety.

I learned things by taking LSD, Ayahuasca and Psilocybin that I would NEVER known or come across as a traditional medical doctor.

In this episode I include chapter 53 of my book ANXIETY RX, entitled, "Dark Night of the Soul".

It discusses the good, the bad, and the ugly in my very personal journey taking psychedelics —and the role they played in showing me what anxiety TRULY was, and how they helped me heal it in myself and others; but not without paying a significant emotional price.

17 Jun 2021Devaluing Ourselves00:13:43

Many of us with anxiety devalue ourselves.

We look after others' needs ahead of our own and often succumb to the stigma of being "anxious" or say "I have anxiety".

When we devalue ourselves like this, it makes it much harder to accept ourselves —and self acceptance is one of the cornerstones to healing...
