If you’ve been keeping up with Party Favorz, you know we’ve been diving deep into this transformative decade of dance. From the initial sets to the present, every track featured has not just ruled the dance floors but also clinched the top spots on the Billboard Dance Club Music Charts—well, with one outlier, "Funk Boutique" by the Cover Girls. House Music Classics of the 90s isn’t merely a throwback; it’s a history lesson in sound. If you find yourself bopping along to contemporary tracks, chances are they owe their infectious rhythms to these 90s gems. Take Deskee’s "Dance Dance," for example. The song ingeniously samples a largely forgotten early-80s track. It just proves the enduring, cyclical nature of dance music; today's hits often borrow liberally from yesterday's classics. Now, onto the setlist for this volume. "Brothers In Rhythm" start the journey with "Such A Good Feeling (DMC Remix by Dimitri)," an absolute dance floor magnet. Then we transition into "Urban Soul’s Show Me (Def Club Mix)," a tune that laid the groundwork for countless dance tracks that followed. "Who Is He And What Is He To You" remixed by DT for Me'Shell Ndegeocello is a soulful reimagining that stays true to the vibe of the decade. And if you're a sucker for vocal-driven beats, don't miss Jaki Graham’s rendition of "Ain’t Nobody (Love To Infinity Classic Paradise Mix)." These final volumes serves as a compelling closing statement to our journey through House Music Classics of the 90s. The influence these tracks have on today's dance landscape cannot be overstated. Whether you're a Gen Z dance enthusiast or a 90s raver reminiscing about the golden days, this set provides a timeless escape. Until the next time...ENJOY! Songs like "Body To Body (Keep In Touch)" remixed by Junior Vasquez and "Changes" with Soul Solution's unique touch serve as milestones on the road to today's multifaceted dance music landscape. Speaking of "Changes," this track holds a unique backstory. It's one of Soul Solution's nascent remixes, and let's be honest, it was a bit disjointed. So, we took the liberty of editing it for a more cohesive experience. Soul Solution duo Bobby Guy and Ernie Lake were trailblazers, quickly rising to prominence in the 90s Classic House Music era. Yet, they eventually parted ways due to a label dispute, which in a twist of fate, opened the gates for Hex Hector—a collaborator they had worked with—to ascend and become one of the 90s' most luminary DJs. The tribute mix boasts an eclectic range of artists and DJs. From the Reese Project's "The Color Of Love" remixed by Underground Resistance to MK's "Always" featuring Alana on the NY Stomp Remix, each track captures a facet of the 90s Classic House Music era that's worth revisiting. It's a vibrant mix that beckons you to relive those dance floor moments that defined a generation. So whether you're a house purist or a circuit aficionado, this set offers a rich palette of sounds that encapsulates the diversity and innovation of 90s Classic House Music. While I've been diligent in revisiting other iconic eras and genres in our extensive collection, the 90s house scene has been calling for a fresh take. And with this mix, I'm confident we've paid proper tribute to this game-changing decade. First off, let's clear the air regarding Onephatdeeva's "Bad Habit" featuring Lisa Millett. Yes, the official release was in 2000, but the promo had been floating around since late '99, making it a perfect fit for this compilation. If you've heard it in our "Get Up n’ Dance | Millennial House Classics v4," that's no accident—it's a track so good it transcends decades as do many of these songs. Now, let's talk about some of the standout tracks. Beats International's "Dub Be Good To Me" featuring Lindy Layton starts things off with its tantalizing blend of reggae-infused house, a Norman Cook (a.k.a.Fatboy Slim) touch that was groundbreaking for its time. Then we have Heavy D & The Boyz's "Now That We Found Love," remixed by the legendary David Morales. This song is a high-energy journey, an effervescent blend of rhythm and vocal prowess. The Bucketheads' "Got Myself Together" is an essential inclusion. The KenLou Mix provides a timeless vibe that remains as fresh today as it was back then. If you're more into the emotional depth house can offer, Saundra Williams' "I Want It, I Need It (Real Love)" with MK's Real Dub will evoke that feeling of yearning and release, which is what house music, at its core, often aims to do. Praxis featuring Kathy Brown rouses the dancefloor with "Turn Me Out," a floor-filler with a melody you can't escape. Kathy's vocals in this Delorme UK Club Mix are a resonant call to the dance floor, inviting and relentless. No 90s House Music Classics mix is complete without some Moby, and his "Move" in the Electro Mix is a nod to how versatile this decade was, blending elements of electronic music with classic house beats. And let's not forget the sugary sweetness of CJ Bolland's "Sugar Is Sweeter," revamped into a Drum n Bass Mix by none other than Armand Van Helden. This track embodies the adventurous spirit of the '90s, where artists and DJs were unafraid to experiment, to blend genres and break down musical barriers. Before we wrap up, it's important to give a nod to our namesake track "Let There Be House" by Deskee, remixed by WestBam. This song not only encapsulates the ethos of this compilation but also serves as a credo for house music itself—bold, unapologetic, and utterly danceable.

As the needle hit the vinyl, tracks like Lisa Stansfield's "All Around The World" and Sybil's "Don't Make Me Over" created an atmosphere in clubs that was magnetic. But what made these tracks iconic, and how did they define an era? Let's rewind and rediscover some of these 90s Classic House Music anthems. Lisa Stansfield - All Around The World (Extended Version) During a time when the Berlin Wall had just fallen, Lisa Stansfield’s "All Around The World" was a tour de force in 1990. It permeated the airwaves, drawing in a variety of listeners. The Extended Version added extra layers of sultry soul to the track, giving DJs more material to work with. Stansfield's voice acted like an auditory passport, taking listeners to places they'd only dreamt of, all while nestled in a club surrounded by other dreamers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXnEP9OnHEo Sybil - Don't Make Me Over (The KING-dom Come Mix) Fast forward to 1989, as Nelson Mandela walked free from prison, Sybil’s "Don't Make Me Over" was finding its rightful place in the house music pantheon. The KING-dom Come Mix imbued the classic tune with a unique blend of electronic beats and soulful harmonies, making it a staple on dancefloors across the globe. Soul II Soul feat. Caron Wheeler - Back To Life (However Do You Want Me) (12'' Mix) 1990 was a year that balanced itself between the end of the Cold War and the commencement of the Gulf War. Amidst the upheaval, Soul II Soul's "Back To Life" captured the collective consciousness. Its 12'' Mix with Caron Wheeler at the vocal helm felt like a mantra for a world in flux, urging us to live our lives however we chose, regardless of the chaos around us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aOSuyD6rxs Malaika - So Much In Love (12'' Choice Mix) By 1992, the internet was starting to change the way we lived, but on the dancefloor, Malaika's "So Much In Love" was still about the simple things: love and the intoxicating feeling of rhythm. De'Lacy - Hideaway (Dubfire Needs To Score Remix) In 1995, when Windows 95 was bringing about a new age of computing, De'Lacy's "Hideaway" created its own kind of revolution. The Dubfire Needs To Score Remix offered a dark, gripping allure that kept clubbers entranced till the early hours. Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless) (Basement Boy's Strip To The Bone Mix) In the mid-90s, while America was getting to know its new president Bill Clinton, Crystal Waters was serving up "Gypsy Woman.

Just as the dawn of the World Wide Web connected us in unforeseen ways, 90s Classic House Music served as a communal thread, stitching together diverse experiences in the tapestry of a transformative decade. In this next installment, we delve deeper into the tracks that didn't just make us move, but moved us—emotionally and culturally. Black Box - Ride On Time (Massive Mix) Kicking off with a track that holds its own name in the annals of house history, Black Box's "Ride On Time" became the UK's best-selling single of 1989. If you remember flipping through TV channels and stumbling upon the fall of the Berlin Wall, there's a good chance this Massive Mix was pulsating through nightclubs, offering an uncanny blend of freedom and euphoria. It was not without controversy as it sampled the vocals of Loleatta Holloway who later sued the label over copyright infringement which was ultimately settled out of court and included the addition of her name as the vocalist on future album pressings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHS4If-jHCU Lonnie Gordon - Happenin' All Over Again (PWL Original Extended Mix) As the world stepped into the 1990s, Lonnie Gordon’s "Happenin' All Over Again" hit the charts. Released in the same year Nelson Mandela was freed, this song captured a vibe of optimism. It was a second chance, not just for Mandela, but for everyone on the dance floor to start anew. Annie Lennox - Walking On Broken Glass (David Morales Mix) When Annie Lennox released "Walking On Broken Glass," it was 1992, and the U.S. presidential baton was handed from Bush to Clinton. David Morales offered a remix that took this emotionally rich track and imbued it with a house vibe, turning heartbreak into something you could dance to. Ce Ce Peniston - Finally (12'' Choice Mix) "Finally," by Ce Ce Peniston, was the anthem of 1991, ringing in the new decade with the official end of apartheid in South Africa. Its 12'' Choice Mix transformed the track into an iconic house number, capturing a fleeting moment in time when it felt like anything was possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ve4F967dDg Crystal Waters - 100% Pure Love (Original 12'' Mix) By 1994, the world had just witnessed the signing of the Oslo Accords, a peace agreement between Israel and Palestine. During this period of potential tranquility, Crystal Waters' "100% Pure Love" provided a melodic backdrop that mirrored the era’s cautious optimism.

This time, we unearth lesser-known tales and unheard vibes from a decade that, much like the collapse of the Soviet Union, marked the end of old orders and the burgeoning of the new. So, without further ado, let's delve into some unforgettable tracks that framed club culture, influenced lifestyle, and are still absolute bangers. Deee-Lite - Groove Is In The Heart (Ultimix) Emanating from the artistic hub that was New York City, Deee-Lite's "Groove Is In The Heart" blasted through the airwaves, gaining traction in 1990. While Nelson Mandela was freed that same year, signaling the end of apartheid, "Groove Is In The Heart" became an anthem for personal liberation on dance floors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4J22gr56fl4 Livin' Joy - Dreamer (Junior Vasquez Sound Factory Mix) It was 1994, the year the U.S. hosted its first FIFA World Cup, when Livin' Joy dropped "Dreamer," capturing the blissful ignorance and idealism coursing through society. Junior Vasquez's Sound Factory Mix added a touch of urbane sophistication to this naive optimism. Billie Ray Martin - Your Loving Arms (Soundfactory Vocal Mix) "Your Loving Arms" by Billie Ray Martin wove its musical threads into the fabric of 1995. As the Dayton Agreement was being signed, bringing a tenuous peace to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Martin's soulful rendition stood as a testament to the healing power of music, amplified by the Junior Vasquez Soundfactory Vocal Mix. Bizarre Inc. feat. Angie Brown - I'm Gonna Get You (Original Flavour Mix) If there was a single word to describe 1992, it would be 'transformational', from Bill Clinton's electoral victory to the commercial release of the first Nicotine patch. "I'm Gonna Get You" by Bizarre Inc. featuring Angie Brown, invigorated clubs, proving that house could be as politically assertive as it was catchy. Tori Amos - Professional Widow (Armand Van Helden's Star Trunk Mix) Fast forward to 1996, the year that saw the introduction of the DVD format. Armand Van Helden transformed Tori Amos's "Professional Widow" into a garage house phenomenon, highlighting how technology and art could marry into something ground-breaking. Inner City - Good Life (Magic Juan's Mix) In 1988, right at the threshold of the 90s, Inner City released "Good Life." This track embodied the universal desire for happiness and freedom, perfectly encapsulated in Magic Juan's Mix. The song has become a staple in 90s Classic House Music and frequently sampled. https://www.youtube.com/watch?

This was the era that saw Bill Clinton sworn in for a second term, but it was also when the world learned about Dolly the cloned sheep. While technology and politics had their own narratives, the cultural fabric of the time was threaded with music. The club scene, specifically, had its own set of anthems that could either fuel a dance marathon or carry someone through a heartbreak. Pulse feat. Antoinette Roberson - The Lover That You Are (Hex Hector & Soul Solution Club Mix) If you ever questioned the emotional depth house music could plumb, look no further. "The Lover That You Are" deftly merges the ethereal voice of Antoinette Roberson with Hex Hector and Soul Solution's heart-pounding remix. Hex Hector, a Grammy Award-winning remixer, was at his zenith during this period, creating remixes that almost outshined the originals. Hannah Jones - No One Can Love You More Than Me (Stonebridge Mix) Stonebridge, an acclaimed DJ, adds his Midas touch to Hannah Jones' "No One Can Love You More Than Me." This remix isn't just a tune; it's a melodic tapestry that pushed the boundaries of how house music could sound. If you were in a club when this dropped, it was like a collective spiritual experience, a cathartic release on the dancefloor. The Bucketheads - The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind) With a sonic nod to Chicago house, The Bucketheads released "The Bomb!" This track didn't just dominate the club scene; it seeped into mainstream consciousness. Interestingly, the track samples "Street Player" by Chicago, a band whose roots trace back to rock and jazz fusion. Aretha Franklin - A Deeper Love (C + C Music Factory Mix) If any song could serve as a sonic representation of empowerment, it would be Aretha Franklin's "A Deeper Love." When you pair the Queen of Soul with the production prowess of C + C Music Factory, you get a track that goes beyond a simple club banger—it's an anthem for the ages. Judy Cheeks - As Long As You're Good To Me (Love To Infinity's Classic Paradise Club Mix) By 1995, Judy Cheeks was already a staple in the house scene. But when Love To Infinity got their hands on "As Long As You're Good To Me," the song transformed into an epic narrative of love and longing, the kind that would leave the club crowd spellbound as the night wore on. So why does this genre of 90s House Music Classics continue to captivate us? Perhaps it's the way these tracks encapsulate a period of ingenuity and emotional depth, intertwining with the broader tapestry of '90s cul...

But what was really electrifying people globally were the pulsating beats of 90s House Music Classics. LaBelle - Turn It Out (Shep's Totally Turnt Out Dub 2 Anthem) In 1995, while O.J. Simpson was declared "not guilty," LaBelle captivated dance floors with "Turn It Out." Shep Pettibone's "Totally Turnt Out Dub 2 Anthem" took an already energetic tune to stratospheric heights. LaBelle's vocal range perfectly harmonized with the transformative remix, making it a staple in nightclubs. Judy Cheeks - Respect (Classic Club Mix) Cut to 1996. The Macarena was something everyone—at least once—tried to dance to, whether at a wedding or reluctantly at a high school gym. But within the sanctuaries of house music, Judy Cheeks was demanding "Respect." The Classic Club Mix uplifted the track with groovy basslines, presenting a gutsier version that became an empowerment anthem for many. Jennifer Holliday - No Frills Love (Classic Paradise 12'' Mix) Ah, 1996—a year when the world held its breath watching Kerri Strug's one-footed vault landing at the Atlanta Olympics. It was the same year Jennifer Holliday released "No Frills Love." The "Classic Paradise 12'' Mix" turned this cut into a definitive anthem, transforming it into something far more robust than your run-of-the-mill love song. At a time when people sought narratives of triumph, this song's heady mix of vocals and rhythm offered its own kind of victory. Happy Clappers - I Believe (12'' Master) Rewind a bit to 1995, a year that brought us the iconic, though controversial, verdict in the O.J. Simpson trial. Amidst the national debates and TV drama, Happy Clappers were making waves in a different way with their song "I Believe." The 12'' Master version served as a refuge, providing an irresistible groove that prompted listeners to believe in something better, if only for the length of a song. Hannah Jones - You Only Have To Say You Love Me (Eric Kupper Mix) In the tempest of 1997, a year that saw the world mourning the loss of Princess Diana and simultaneously tuning into the debut of "South Park," Hannah Jones offered solace with "You Only Have To Say You Love Me." Remixed by Eric Kupper, the song provided an emotional compass at a time when cultural sentiments were swinging wildly between sorrow and irreverence. Simpson trial captivated our collective attention. But on a lighter note, Microsoft released Windows 95, and the Sony PlayStation made its U.S. debut. Yet, the echo of 90s House Music Classics provided the sonic backdrop that made the era unforgettable. Mariah Carey: Emotions (12'' Club Mix) When Mariah Carey released "Emotions," it was a defining moment. The track, embedded in the David Morales remix, had the vocals soaring higher than the U.S. box office numbers of Toy Story in 1995. The blend of Carey's vocal range with the beat creates a sublime synergy, still making it a dancefloor essential. 49ers: Don't You Love Me (90's Mix) This song is an interesting outlier. The 49ers managed to juxtapose elements of techno with classic house in "Don't You Love Me," just when Friends made its TV debut and started redefining friendship norms. This song may not have a Ross and Rachel saga, but its pulsating rhythm and evergreen allure still keep feet moving on dance floors today. Clubhouse: Deep In My Heart (American 12'' Mix) Clubhouse's "Deep In My Heart" could almost be the soundtrack of 1996, a year that saw the infamous Unabomber captured and the Spice Girls claiming "Girl Power" with their hit "Wannabe." But in the middle of it all, this number offered a profound, bass-heavy reflection of the deeper strains of house music. D-Mob with Cathy Dennis: That's The Way Of The World (12'' Version) This is a vital track that merged Cathy Dennis's unique vocal style with D-Mob's creative prowess. The song emerged at a time when the first Harry Potter book was published in the UK. Both the book and the song offered escape, but while Harry Potter invited us to a magical world, "That’s The Way Of The World" provided an escape on the dance floor. Carleen Anderson: Mama Said (K-Klassic Mix) In 1997, Tiger Woods amazed us with his Masters win at Augusta, but Carleen Anderson's "Mama Said" was winning the hearts of club-goers. Her voice, coupled with K-Klassic Mix's production finesse, made it a sterling example of house music done right. Sounds Of Blackness: I Believe (Classic Gospel Mix) Blending gospel with house music, this track was a spiritual awakening at the apex of the Y2K hysteria. The Classic Gospel Mix gave it an ethereal dimension, offering a musical refuge as we braced for the millennium. Madonna: Secret (Junior’s Luscious Club Mix) By the time Madonna’s “Secret” rolled out in its Junior's Luscious Club Mix,

As we prepare to put the finishing touches on this sonic odyssey, let's not forget the decade that was teeming with contrasts. While the world was engrossed in phenomena like the cloning of Dolly the Sheep and the unabating allure of "The X-Files," these distinctive house tracks were coursing through strobe-lit dance floors and echoing in the hearts of midnight revelers. Let's journey one last time into epic dance music podcast series that serves as a fitting coda to the compelling '90s era. Opus III "It's A Fine Day" The ethereal vocals of Kirsty Hawkshaw serve as the linchpin for "It's A Fine Day," masterfully intertwining with an electro-hip beat that catapults the listener into a surreal soundscape. This Opus III classic transcended the boundaries of conventional 90s House Music, injecting a dose of trance vibes that made the track an unforgettable auditory experience. Judy Cheeks - As Long As You're Good To Me (Love To Infinity's Classic Paradise Club Mix) "As Long As You're Good To Me" by Judy Cheeks was an oasis in 1995's tumultuous landscape. Love To Infinity's remix infused the track with euphoric synths and pulsating rhythms, lifting club-goers into a momentary bliss. While the year buzzed with social and technological shifts, this song offered an island of serenity, its catchy refrain becoming a de facto mantra for the dancefloor community. Clubland feat. Quartz - Let's Get Busy (Pump It Up) (The G Mix) Clubland teams up with Quartz to bring us "Let's Get Busy (Pump It Up)" in The G Mix—a frenetic concoction that left a lasting impact on the dance scene. Packed with pulsating beats and a groove-laden synth line, this classic will transport you straight back to the frenzied energy of 90s dance floors. Inner City - Pennies From Heaven (Norty Boy Mix) Inner City's "Pennies From Heaven" in the Norty Boy Mix is a voyage into sonic splendor. With captivating vocal arrangements and immersive beats, this track epitomized what it meant to be a 90s House anthem, creating an aural experience that effortlessly turned listeners into devout followers. Sandy B - Make The World Go 'Round (Deep Dish Vocal Mix) In an era of musical experimentation, Sandy B's "Make The World Go 'Round" brought something special to the table. The Deep Dish Vocal Mix took this anthem to new heights with its intricate harmonies and subversive beats, offering an intoxicating musical blend that still resonates with today's audiences. Madonna - Deeper And Deeper (Shep's Deep Makeover Mix)

Remember the "Disco Sucks" movement in the early 80s? Dance music never really disappeared; instead, it began a fragmented evolution. Thanks to synth-laden tracks and beat machines made famous by DJ icons like Giorgio Moroder and Cerrone, it morphed into new realms. The Evolution of 90s Classic House Music From New Wave dance and Hi NRG to classic House music in the 90s, the genre's influence has permeated every dance floor. Early subdivisions like Acid House, Hip Hop, Breakbeat, Freestyle and Trip Hop paved the way for commercial sensations like "Pump Up the Volume," by M/A/R/R/S, the Shep Pettibone remix of "Bizarre Love Triangle," and "Vogue" by Madonna as well as the Acid House classic "Theme from S'Express" by S'Express. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGbUOlTLzqk Spanning from 1988 to 1991, the Ultimate 90's House Music Classics series encapsulates this genre's underground roots before its mainstream success. The 90s House music classics like "Finally," by CeCe Peniston "Show Me Love," by Robin S and "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)" by Crystal Waters owe their existence to the humble beginnings in Chicago, spreading to New York and then globally. Superstar DJs and the 90s House Music Classics Classic House music 90s didn't just shape the era; it created legends. Beyond Frankie Knuckles, figures like Larry Levan, Steve "Silk" Hurley, and David Morales were pivotal in the genre. The Shep Pettibone remix of "Rhythm Nation" by Janet Jackson, or Shep's House Mix of "Miss You Much" are a testament to the talent of these pioneers. This series wouldn't be complete without mentioning songs like Soul II Soul's "Keep On Movin'"  and "Back 2 Life (However Do You Want Me)" or the 12" Choice Mix of "Finally" by Ce Ce Peniston. And who could forget the ever-catchy Nomad's "(I Wanna Give You) Devotion"? Whether they were original hits like Snap!'s "The Power" or Marshall Jefferson's "Move Your Body," which is been remastered and released as a hit just recently — they each contributed to the 90s classic House music legacy. Of course, not every track was timeless. Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy" might have been a one-off earworm, but it, along with the Shep Pettibone Remix of Madonna's "Vogue," belongs to the larger narrative of this influential era. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB54dZkzZOY In Conclusion Compiling, mixing, and remastering the best 90s House remixes has been a remarkable endeavor.

The first time I heard "French Kiss" was when I was cruising the Mining Company bar in Dallas and the DJ dropped this song. This era marked a significant transformation, introducing Classic House Tracks that are still admired today. As we moved into the mid-90s, the interplay between Hip Hop and House Music began to fade, each genre charting its distinct path. However, the era was far from mundane; the budding Trance genre started teasing the mainstream, artists like Opus III and Josh Wink paving the way. Legends like Oakenfold and Rollo & Sister Bliss were creating waves with big room House tracks, setting the stage for their eventual renowned status. Old School House Music during this time was filled with Soulful House legends like MAW, Frankie Knuckles, and David Morales. Commercial House music was flourishing with remixers like Love To Infinity, StoneBridge, Brothers In Rhythm, and Roger Sanchez. Underground sensations like Junior Vasquez, Tony Moran, and Armand Van Helden were crafting Big Room tracks that would soon conquer the club scene. Unveiling this series is akin to opening a musical time capsule, filled with the Best 90s House Remixes that once ruled the dance floors but have since vanished from the collective memory. For instance, the "Beautiful People" mixed by C.J. became a timeless hit for Barbara Tucker. Aretha Franklin's "A Deeper Love," remixed by C + C Music Factory, symbolizes the era's profound emotions. Tracks like the Love To Infinity's Classic Paradise Club Mix of Judy Cheeks' "As Long As You're Good To Me" or the MAW Style Mix of "Everybody Be Somebody" by Ruffneck feat. Yavahn represent the artistic brilliance of the time. Junior Vasquez's Soundfactory Mix of "Your Loving Arms" by Billie Ray Martin captures the innovative spirit of the 90s Club Anthems. The Ultimate 90s House Classics series is not just a collection; it's a heartfelt tribute to an incredible era that shaped today's music landscape. It revives the 90s Club Anthems, like the Junior Vasquez 10.31 Mix of "Keep In Touch (Body To Body)" by Shades Of Love, which once pulsated through speakers around the world. Volume two of the Ultimate 90s House Classics from 1994-1995 is arriving soon. Until then, let these Old School House Music tracks transport you back to a time when dance floors were alive with energy and passion. Until the next time...ENJOY! This installment celebrates some of the decade's Classic House Tracks that still resonate today. A highlight for me is N'Dea Davenport's contributions, both with the Brand New Heavies and her upcoming solo work. Alongside Adeva and Barbara Tucker, these powerhouse vocalists defined the era with their soulful melodies, placing them on a level that few could reach. However, it's not all praise for this period. I have some reservations, particularly concerning David Morales and, to some extent, C + C Music Factory and Junior Vasquez. The Morales collaboration with Mariah Carey, like the take-me-to-church revival of "Anytime You Need a Friend," feels misguided. It extended the track unnecessarily, losing the essence of the original piece. The 11-minute epic needed trimming to an 8-minute version, but even then, it feels laborious. These DJs typically blend the gospel with groove, but on this track, the energy never seems to ignite. "Pride (A Deeper Love)" by Aretha Franklin, expertly mixed by Clivillés and Cole, kept the song moving with a deep groove, something lacking in "Anytime You Need a Friend." Thankfully, Morales found his stride with the mix of "My All," although it surprisingly peaked only at #3 on the dance charts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJmPsTz9Ocg This volume of Iconic 90s Dance Hits wouldn't be complete without mentioning crossover hits like the Bucketheads (Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez) "The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)" and "Magic Carpet Ride" by the Mighty Dub Katz (Norman Cook and GMoney). Both these tracks bridged the gap between dance floors and radios, epitomizing the influence of 90s House Music. As I curate the final volume of this two-year series, the progression towards harder house and the emergence of Trance are evident. Still, the tracks remain loyal to the House Music sphere, reminiscent of how Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" stayed true to the Discosphere during its release era. Stay tuned for volume three of the Ultimate 90s House Classics 1994 - 1995, dropping next week, as we keep reliving the Iconic 90s Dance Hits that shaped our musical culture. The Rollo & Sister Bliss Monster Mix for Donna Summer's "I Feel Love '95" provides a nostalgic yet fresh take on a disco classic. Moving into deeper and more soulful territory, tracks like "What Hope Have I" by Sphinx feat. As we delve into Volume 4 of The Ultimate 90's House Classics [1994 - 1995], we stand at a thrilling intersection where innovation meets tradition. The 90s were a pivotal decade in the dance music arena, a time when technology and creativity coalesced to shape the future. Giorgio Moroder, considered by many as the godfather of Techno and House Music, was a visionary artist. His groundbreaking work with Donna Summer and solo productions were milestones in electronic dance music. Decades ahead of its time in the seventies, his influence can be felt in the incredible evolution of House Music throughout the 90s. With technology advancing, the mid-decade brought a fresh wave of possibilities. House Music began to diversify, branching into numerous sub-genres that contributed to the kaleidoscopic sounds we recognize today. Size 9's "I'm Ready" is a testament to this innovation, embodying the spirit of a genre that was constantly pushing boundaries. Its pulsating beats and irresistible hooks encapsulate the experimental fervor that marked the era. The Rapino Brothers remix for Corona's "The Rhythm Of The Night" is another standout, offering a melodic blend of infectious grooves that transcended dance floors worldwide. It's a quintessential example of the magic that unfolded when traditional instruments met electronic ingenuity. In "Take Me Higher" (T-empo's Club Adventure) by Diana Ross, we see a fusion of classic vocals and forward-thinking production techniques, creating a vibrant synergy that resonates with the very essence of 90s House. Tracks like "Been A Long Time" (Full Intention 12" Mix) by The Fog, Jamiroquai's "Space Cowboy" (David Morales Classic Club Remix), M People's "One Night In Heaven" (David Morales Classic Mix), and Madonna's "Human Nature" (The Human Club Extended Mix) showcase the era's willingness to explore, innovate, and reinterpret. Even Björk's experimental touch in "Big Time Sensuality" (The Fluke Magimix) and Staxx's euphoric "Joy" (Lovejoy Vocal 12" Mix) find their place in this collection, reflecting the broad spectrum and international appeal of 90s House. These groundbreaking tracks, crafted by DJs and producers who are still influencing the industry today, offer a vivid snapshot of an era marked by technological marvel and creative exploration. They embody the enduring legacy of House Music, a legacy that continued to thrive and evolve into the latter part of the decade, paving the way for new sounds and experiences. Early in the decade, genres like Freestyle, Breakbeat, Trip Hop, Hip Hop, and Eurodance were offshoots that spun into their own categories, but it's the latter half of the nineties that witnessed a dramatic shift in the 90s House Music landscape. Classic House continued to pulsate on dance floors, yet there was a thirst for innovation. The sound progressively transformed, integrating electronic and tribal beats, igniting a new club culture. Renowned names like Club 69 (Peter Rauhofer), Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, Tony Moran, Hex Hector, Jonathan Peters, Soul Solution, and more began to define this era. Junior Vasquez's seamless transition between commercial House and big tribal beats became an emblematic representation of the time. An example of this transition was the Soul Solution and Hex Hector remix of Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart." This mix shook the dance floor, making record labels turn heads, even though the exceptional Frankie Knuckles version was featured in volume one of this series. This new breed of 90s Dance Floor Hits began to take over this four-volume collection, reaching a peak in 1998-1999. The period also birthed a tougher house sound through Full Intention, StoneBridge, Love To Infinity, and the signature garage house style of Armand Van Helden. Trance, an underground phenomenon bubbling in the UK during the early nineties, made its way to the US, turning many house DJs like Rollo & Sister Bliss, Perfecto, Sash!, and BT into Trance legends. Volume two invites you to explore this fascinating evolution. It includes the Franktified Club Mix of Chaka Khan's "Never Miss The Water," the StoneBridge Mix of Hannah Jones's "No One Can Love You More Than Me," the Deep Zone Club Mix of "Remember Me" by The Blue Boy, and more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC4yjfArS9c The Love To Infinity's Extended Club Mix of Diana King's "I Say A Little Prayer," Pulse's "The Lover That You Are" with Hex Hector & Soul Solution Club Mix, Grace's "Not Over Yet" with Perfecto Mix, and Ace Of Base's "Beautiful Life" with Vission & Lorimer Club Mix showcase the diverse sounds that shaped this era. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cRgnFG68y0 For now, immerse yourself in this rich slice of 90s House Music history. This final installment doesn't just shine a spotlight on a golden era of dance music; it showcases how the genre found new directions and reached new audiences. As we dive into the sounds of the late 90s, we encounter the bold explorations of Club 69 (a.k.a. Peter Rauhofer). Known for his sexy House Music songs catering to the gay community, Club 69 rapidly evolved into a new progressive sphere. The remixes like Funky Green Dogs' "Fired Up" and Kevin Aviance's "Din Da Da" not only hit big but set dance floors ablaze, turning peak hour into an electrifying experience. Simultaneously, names like Tony Moran, Junior Vasquez, Victor Calderone, Ralphi Rosario, and Hex Hector redefined the scene, bringing in a more accessible sound without losing the soul of House. The Classic House Tracks were no longer confined to niche clubs but were resonating with the mainstream, marking the start of a trend that would shape dancefloors for years to come. The era wasn't just about the music; it was about the DJs becoming stars, far beyond the two turntables and a microphone. Clive Davis of Arista records played a significant role in this phenomenon. Recognizing the potential of dance in the pop landscape, Davis pushed artists like Deborah Cox into realms of R&B and Dance, making them household names. As the creators of Party Favorz, our connection with House Music transcends the genres. From Trash Disco, 80's Dance, Eurodance, and Trance, our love is profound, but House Music holds a special place. The Ultimate 90's House Classics series is an emblem of this love, reflecting a comprehensive history of the genre, even though it's impossible to encapsulate everything deserving of recognition. The series is far from over, with 1998 - 1999 set to revive fond memories. Expect more classic house tracks in the summer or early fall. Additionally, the Ultimate Trance series is on the horizon, aiming to wrap up the year with a bang. Some notable tracks that embody the spirit of this volume include: Toni Braxton's "I Don't Want To," elegantly remixed by Franki Knuckles. Meanwhile, TLC's star began to wane due to internal discord. It was an era where the boundaries between pop and dance blurred, as 90s House Music made its mark on the club scene. At a time when Classic House Tracks were rarely heard on the radio, major labels expertly maneuvered their stars from the airwaves to the dance floors. The expertise of legendary 90s House DJs like Hex Hector, Davidson Ospina, Soul Solution, Thunderpuss, Pablo Flores, and Jonathan Peters played a vital role in this transformation. Moloko's "Sing It Back" was given life by the Boris Musical Mix, while the Hex Hector club mix of "Find Another Woman" by Reina became an instant hit. Jessica Simpson's "I Wanna Love You Forever" was reinvented by the Soul Solution Extended Club Vocal Version. Chris "The Greek" Panaghi turned TLC's "No Scrubs" into an Iconic 90s Dance Hits, and the list goes on. Gloria Estefan's "Oye" resonated with the Hex Hector remix, while Funky Green Dogs’ “Body” was transformed by the Club 69 Future Mix. Whitney Houston collaborated with Faith Evans & Kelly Price for "Heartbreak Hotel," and its Hex Hector Club Mix became one of the unforgettable 90s Club Anthems. In Classic House Tracks like 98°'s "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)," the Hex Hector remix took center stage. Britney Spears' "Sometimes" was reborn through the Thunderpuss remix, which transformed the pop song into a massive tribal house anthem. Among the Iconic 90s Dance Hits, "Mucho Mambo (Sway)" by Shaft occupies a special place. Released in 1999, the song skillfully blends Latin rhythms with house beats to create a danceable groove that resonates with both house enthusiasts and mainstream audiences. Its playful fusion of horns, percussion, and traditional Mambo, set against the backdrop of modern electronic sounds, marks "Mucho Mambo (Sway)" as a timeless classic in 90s House Music. Shaft's innovative yet authentic approach to this track ensures its continued celebration as one of the era's unforgettable dance floor anthems. This compilation offers a nostalgic journey through 90s House Music, bringing together Iconic 90s Dance Hits, Classic House Tracks, and the era's top remixers. Then there's the infectious groove of "Get Get Down" by Paul Johnson, the gritty pulse of "Bodyrock" by Moby, and the timeless melody of "9PM (Til I Come)" by ATB – a track that laid the foundation for this year's hit "Your Love (9PM)" by Topic & A7S. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duEHCbMWNrs From "Better Off Alone" by Alice Deejay, which has been resurrected in recent mashups, to the bouncy Eurodance rhythm of "2 Times" by Ann Lee, Volume 5 curates a thrilling ride through the dance hits that shaped a generation. How about "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65? Or "King Of My Castle" by Wamdue Project? These tracks, among others, capture the euphoria of an era that reshaped dance music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lgs9QUtWc3M What makes Volume 5 truly special is the seamless blend of diverse hits that, on paper, might seem discordant but in reality, create a magical dance music mosaic. Volume 6 is not merely a conclusion; it's a crescendo that unearths the remaining massive progressive club hits and Classic House tracks from 1998-1999. This final volume is like a nostalgic dance floor, filled with tunes that most of us have swayed to, even if their titles might momentarily escape us. A parade of iconic 90s dance hits takes center stage, each one a sparkling gem in the treasure chest of 90's House Music. One notable exception – the intriguing Hex Hector remix of Tina Turner's "When the Heartache Is Over" – beckons with mystery. Although widely rumored at the time, this version seemed to vanish like a ghost note, overshadowed by the Metro Mix. It was only during the creation of the Tina Turner Diva Hall of Fame series earlier this year that this elusive remix danced back into the limelight. In those days, being a dance music enthusiast meant more than just clicks and streams. It involved road trips to San Antonio, 4-hour drives from small-town America, and weekend adventures at the Bonham Exchange. It was a quest, not just for the latest club tunes but for the pulsating rhythm that connected music lovers. The DJ008 website, a precursor to Napster and other file-sharing services, offered a digital avenue for music discovery. But with dial-up connections, where downloading a single song could take hours, the thrill of the physical hunt often prevailed. Now, as we embrace this volume, we're not merely revisiting a time and place; we're celebrating an era of 90's dance hits and Classic House Tracks that defined a generation. From Kim English's "Unspeakable Joy" (Razor 'n' Guido Vocal Mix) to Mariah Carey's "My All" (David Morales Classic Club Mix), these songs invite us to dance once more to the rhythm of our memories. Volume 6 is not just a compilation; it's a time capsule, a tribute to a golden age of dance music. Whether it's your first listen or a cherished revisit, these sounds are timeless.
