22 Sep 2023243: Dale Allen-Rowse – Finding the Spiritual Disco of Your Soul00:43:02
How do you find the soul of yourself? You let it find you, but that doesn't mean you just sit around waiting for it. Author, performer, and Shamanic practitioner, Dale Allen-Rowse takes us on his journey from working with one of the Divas of music to uncovering his passion during the pandemic so that he could dial into the soul of his truth.

About Dale

Dale Allen-Rowse always knew he was a creator and a storyteller. However, it wasn’t until Celine Dion hired him as an original cast member for her show ‘A New Day’ that he understood his calling. During the almost year-long creation of Celine’s Las Vegas show, Dale’s vision for storytelling, narrative, and fantasy emerged. He worked for three years under the direction of Dion’s director, Franco Dragone, the creative genius behind many of the Cirque de Soleil shows. From that relationship, Dale discovered his storytelling voice. In 2005, Dale left Celine’s employment, ending an eighteen-year professional theatre performing career to pursue a new life in real estate. Within three years of becoming a real estate agent, Dale was awarded top honors for individual sales volume for RE/MAX and opened a brokerage firm. After a twenty-year career as an agent and real estate coach, Dale is adding new passions to his interests, including his spiritual life as a shamanic practitioner and student of core shamanism. With the publishing of the Journey of a Dark Shaman Trilogy, and the first four books in The Language in Light Series, Dale realizes a lifelong dream of becoming an author who seeks to challenge the status quo through modern-day fables that study and dissect energy work. Dale channels his books using a process called ‘Automatic Writing,’ which he discusses on his YouTube.com/DaleAllenRowse channel – as well as many of the topics covered in his books, such as personal evolution, spiritual energy work, core shamanism, manifesting, and evolving. Plus, his talks are set to a disco beat, and that’s not nothing.

25 Mar 2022165: Dissecting The Truth Of Gay Men: Coach to Coach – Brian Madigan00:47:45
What motivates gay men? Do all gay men only want sex? What if an open relationship can work? Can I be spiritual or religious as a gay man? Questions, questions, questions. It seems we as gay men are constantly questioning ourselves. To help me answer some of these questions is Brian Madigan of Gay Guru Coach. Join us as we laugh, go deep, and try to dissect the truth of what so many gay men struggle with so they can live their life on their terms.

About Brian

Brian Madigan has been a full-time life coach, and mentor, since 2007. He’s helped clients: find new careers or enrich the ones they’re in; discover new love or renew a fading relationship; and deal with the stresses of day to day living But, most of all, he’s helped them sink deep into themselves and discover how to express their truth in the world. Now, he’s applying all of that to his true passion, helping queer men. His goal is to help his clients discover what their best life looks like and move into it. He has spent his life exploring spirituality, personal development, stress management, and anything else that helps make life easier and better for people. Eventually, he started sharing what he’d learned with other people: holding seminars, teaching mediation, doing energy healing, and transforming people’s lives with his coaching. Now he has focused his life and business on helping queer men get to their core and express it out in the world. He believes that together they can create a world where it’s safe for his clients to be themselves and life becomes a powerful ongoing journey into wholeness.

28 Feb 2020062: Navigating The Possibility Of An Open Relationship – Rick Clemons00:12:48
Relationships are not easy...right? Yet, sometimes relationships cause one or both partners to wander into the land of infidelity or lackluster connectedness. On the other hand, some relationships wander into the realm of an open relationship. All of these scenarios can lead to insanity, or a better outcome, when you take the time to breathe, think logically, and realize that both partners get to have a voice and a perspective in what is best for them as individuals and as a couple. Here's a few insights and suggestions for when you are potentially facing an infidelity or open relationship conversation to help you keep your sanity. Also here's the Values Assessment that was referenced in the show - Click Here!

12 Nov 2019How to align your heart and your art - Rick Clemons00:06:25

Sometimes stuff just falls out of your mouth and they you think, "Boy that was some pretty profound shit I just said!" Ever felt that? Well I did, just the other day while coaching a client. I said "If your heart's not there, then your art's not there!" Without heart there is no art, and all of life is art, so that's why I decided to riff on this idea, hoping some of you guys will see that there is truly an art to getting your heart and art aligned.

12 Apr 2024272: Allen Scott – From Pornography Addiction to Redemption00:50:56
We all make mistakes. For some of us those mistakes are harder than others to live with, especially when that mistake will follow us for life. From his own sexual abuse at a young age, to his porn addiction, to being arrested and having to now carry the weight of being a registered offender, Allen Scott is healing and growing into the man he is meant to be - a gay man with a past that isn't getting to hold him back. This is a powerful conversation about pornography, sexual abuse and may be disturbing to listen to but I'm inviting my listeners to have an open mind and realize forgiveness is the way.

About Allen Scott

Allen Scott is an average guy on a continuous journey of self-discovery. He comes from a military family and, while growing up, he lived in Europe and the US. He is a graduate of the University of West Florida and remains an avid patron of the fine and performing arts. After joining the military as an adult, he expanded his world travels to Asia and the Middle East.
Allen realized at a very young age that he is gay. It remained a closely guarded secret until high school, which fostered a great deal of internalized homophobia. After coming out, his newly revealed sexual orientation was anything but liberating and caused a huge rift in his family. Although he began to explore this part of himself during high school, his years in college are when he truly accepted himself as a gay man.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances stemming from an early exposure to pornography, which later developed into an addiction, he eventually found himself ensnared in a web of very serious legal ramifications. While he acknowledges he cannot change his actions and has accepted responsibility for them, he experiences remorse every day and regrets the harm it caused to all affected.
Allen's experiences with pornography addiction and the associated legal ramifications have compelled him to become an advocate for others. He has been through several treatment programs which have given him hope for the possibility of bridging the gap between others like him and the society which seeks to remove them to the periphery.
Going through life as a middle-aged gay man can be difficult enough in itself. Adding the layer of having any sort of criminal record only complicates it that much more. Allen's overall message to other gay men in similar situations is to keep trying. There will be days when giving up will seem like the best choice. However, the best thing you can do is get up every day and do what you can, when you can, and the best you can.
Currently, Allen is writing his own book called Shattered to Whole Again: My Journey from Pornography Addiction to Redemption. He plans to use his experiences as a platform for engagements which may include public speaking, writing, lobbying, advocacy, and peer support.

24 May 2019Taking Ownership When You Screw Up – Gerson Sternstein00:19:16

Let’s be honest. Being honest is tough for us guys. Then add admitting we’re wrong to the mix, or that we're a screw up, and that brings on a whole other set of masculinity pushback that we guys just aren’t good at doing.

Now imagine you get called out in your profession for screwing up and it means you basically lost everything you know. Eating that type of crow really makes you either man up or curl up in the fetal position. My buddy and friend, Gerson Sternstein, shares his story from thriving, to hiding in disgrace, and learning to survive after it all falls apart.

30 Apr 2021118: Aging as a Transman – Sex and all that jazz – Buck Angel!00:37:50

He's in his late 50's. He's a trailblazer. He's done porn, and he's a man. A transman, and he's got something to say about being a man of a certain age in the LGBTQ community. Never one to walk away from a fight or a belief system, Buck Angel is coming out swinging as a man in his 50's letting everyone know that TRANPA is in the house. But what is TRANPA? An elder TRANSMAN who is not going to be told, " Go sit down TRANPA and let us younger TRANSMEN take the lead now!" All Buck is asking for is some respect. Respect for those who've gone before us all in our fight for equality rights and voice as we age with grace and dignity.

About

Buck Angel is a world-renowned motivational speaker, pioneering filmmaker, and a human rights activist. Buck Angel's message of empowerment through self-acceptance and the mission to encourage everyone to be comfortable in their own skin - whatever that means to them - has struck a passionate chord with people around the world.

Buck was born female on June 5,1962. He never felt female and struggled through life until he had the life-changing opportunity to transition from female to male and finally live life authentically. He had many obstacles during his transition mostly due to no information for transitioning for FTM transsexuals. But with the help of compassionate doctors, he lives his truth and now can help to educate the world with his story. His mission is to inspire people to re-define gender and to foster a new generation as they discover the fluidity of sexuality and navigate gender politics. His message "It's not what between your legs that defines you" has sparked many a conversation and opened minds to the important message that gender is what you say it is for you, and that self-acceptance is not only what makes a person happy, it's how others come to understand you. Buck has made appearances on HBO, National Geographic, Netflix, The Tyra Banks Show, Dan Savage, AOL, Spike TV, The Women's Entertainment Network, Howard Stern Show, Much Music, Sirius Radio, and many others. He's been written about in  Forbes ,Esquire, Cosmo, VICE, Huffington Post, ELLE, Buzz Feed, The Village Voice, Rolling Stone, Time Out, Maxim, New York Times, and other publications around the world. Armistead Maupin included Buck Angel in his latest book Michael Tolliver Lives. In August 2016 Buck produced the world’s first pleasure product specifically for the transgender male community. His product, called The Buck Off, was produced in collaboration with Perfect Fit Brand as a means to re-imagine a transmale sexuality and the specific needs his community looks for. The Buck off won most innovative pleasure product at AVN and XBIZ 2017.

2017 Buck created T-Lube with Sliquid and is the first lubrication to be directly targeted to trans male vaginal health. Once again creating conversation about trans healthcare where there was none. 2016 HBO's The Trans List Buck is one of the featured speakers. In 2013 Mr. Angel a documentary about Buck's life premiered at the SXSW film festival to rave reviews. It won a Telly Award for Non-Broadcast Productions Film/Video - Social Issues. 30 Oct 2020097: Men, Intimacy, and Affection – Get Over It Already – Rick Clemons00:09:12

You'd have to be hiding with your head in the sand to not hear all the crappy politics going on right now. And this podcast isn't about politics, until today. When a photo surfaced about Joe Biden affectionately sharing an intimate Father/Son moment surfaced on the internet causing some to cry "Creepy, Gross, Incest," I felt it was necessary to say, "Get over it and man up!" Men can show other men intimacy and affection and it doesn't mean there's something gross going on. It means there is love going on.

So if you have a problem showing intimacy to another man, then you just might want to listen to this podcast. Of course, you probably won't because that's too gross, but I invite you to take a listen and drop yoru masculine bravado for just a moment!

26 Jul 2019Weathering The Storms of Life – Mark Asquith00:17:11

We all have storms in life. Crazy making storms. Some that we call the S*it Storms of life. As a guy 40 Plus, we can find ourselves right in the midst of a bunch of these storms, pulling our hair out, if we even have any hair left, or managing through them with ease and grace.

My buddy and mentor for my podcasts, Mark Asquith, joins me today to dole out some advice on weathering the storms of life. He’s not quite 40 but, I’m slipping him into the mix because he’s a pretty smart bloke most them time, and even when he’s not, he’s still pretty good to hang with. So let’s get into the storms of life and manage them, even if that means only with a joke and a hot dog!

About Mark

Mark Asquith is a serial entrepreneur who has built globally successful design, marketing, software and digital businesses since he quit his real job in 2005. A passionate podcaster, global keynote speaker and helpful bloke, Mark is the co-founder of Podcast Websites and the creator of Excellence Expected. He has a terribly embarrassing beard.

In 2008 he set up his first “real” business.

Less than 12 months later he royally screwed it up, having only 60 pounds in the bank and having let his whole team and offices go.

Since then, the Hot Dog Kid has learned his lesson and has gone on to found a globally successful design agency, two tech startups, the UK’s #1 business podcast and a personal brand that has created an audience of worldwide fans of his “no shit” attitude.

Following a blaze of glory burnout in 2012, he is a regular speaker across the world at tech, business and media events, particularly in the United States.

01 Jul 202080: Real Talk, About Being A Male Victim of Sexual and Physical Abuse – Brian Cardoza00:31:15

Imagine hiding a secret that made you question who you are, if you did something wrong, and causing you to feel like you are not worthy. Now imagine all of this started for you when you were 3, 5, 12. It happened at an age where you were meant to trust an adult, not fear them. All of this weighing on you as you enter into middle school, high school, college, young adult life, and beyond - without anyone know the depth of your secret - that you were physically and sexaully abused. It' not an easy conversation, and that's why we're having it today.

Brian Cardoza, joins me as the two of talk about our experiences of being sexually and physically abused as young me, the toll it has taken on our lives and how we finally found the power to report and talk about it. We know there are many men out there who still struggle to find their voice in this arena so they can be heard, release their pain, and heal. That's why we're having the difficult but necessary conversation today.

About Brian

"We become a Superhero", writes adult Brian Cardoza in a letter to his 6-year-old self. "We are mighty little one. And we are brave." Brian suffered repeated sexual assault and physical abuse as a child. He left home at the age of fifteen, nearly freezing to death the first night on his own. Brian knows the trauma and despair victims must overcome to survive. He not only chose to survive, he chose to give voice to an unspeakable topic and to challenge the stigma and shame often associated with male survivors of abuse.

Now an inspirational speaker, author, and artist, Brian's message is one of responsibility and hope, and he works diligently to raise awareness and money to fight against childhood sexual assault and physical abuse.  A believer in the potential to change, Brian's motto, "Don't let this moment dictate the next moment" is familiar to many he inspires.

Brian and his story are featured in a number of national and international projects including a documentary for the EU, Forced, Promise Place's documentary Ripple Effects, The BristleCone Project, and Huffington Post's HuffPost Live segment for Child Abuse Awareness Month. He has been a contributing poet for Purple Sparks and a keynote speaker for a multitude of events highlighting abuse. And he's a certified OVC TTAC Consultant and RAINN Speaker.

Brian's love for art began with drawing as a child. He experimented with different mediums from charcoal to stone sculpting.  Stopping for a number of years to focus on culinary endeavors, Brian picked art back up at a time when he felt most alone.  Today, Brian's art takes various forms including magnificently colored refurbished bicycles that he donates to children. He's passionate about learning new techniques and styles and the creative process continues to heal the child within.

Brian founded The Broken Knee Club, a non-profit organization created to provide a safe haven for all sexes to comfortably speak out about their experience of childhood and adult sexual assault.  In collaboration with others, Brian is building Survivor Knights, a community healing through creative expression. Survivor Knights' exhibits highlight the enormity of the journey from trauma to healing through dark and bright works of art.  Brian's words of encouragement to survivors, "Your darkest moments may be the light for another."

09 Aug 2019Depression isn’t and shouldn’t be a shameful prison – Chris Brogan00:22:21

I admit it. I suffer from depression. I also take my little one pill a day to keep it at bay…no shame whatsoever. Then there’s my buddy Chris Brogan. A guy who’s written NY Times Bestsellers, talked in front of 100’s of people, talks marketing, startups, and everything biz related to some of the smallest and biggest organizations on the planet, and he’s also not afraid to talk about his depression.

In fact, in his world, talking about depression is an act of self-love and self-preservation. That’s where we’re going today, and we’re not ashamed as men over 40 to talk about that “D” word, and we we’re not talking about that one between your legs that often times can cause you to be depressed even when it doesn’t work.

About Chris

Chris Brogan is an author, keynote speaker and business advisor who helps companies become more human. The age of factory-sized interactions is over. We all come one to a pack. And it’s time to accept that we are all a little bit dented. In a world of ever-increasing pressure and stress, you've been told to smile, hide your “flaws,” and fit in. You aren’t a category. People don’t want to fit in. They want to belong. Dents and all. Chris advises leadership teams to empower team members by sharing actionable insights on workplace wellness. He also works with marketing and communications teams to more effectively reach people who want to be seen and understood before they buy what a company sells.

04 Sep 2020089: Becoming A Boomer Musician – Michael Fairman00:34:17

It's time to take a stand against ageism. No more saying, "You're to old!" You're only as old as you buy into the voice in your head. But, you have to believe that too. Breaking the barriers as an artist, Michael Fairman is as a 'Boomer' signer, songwriter, giving the young pop singer crowd a run for their money. His 40 Plus Real Men. Real Talk. story is not only about being a 40+ man, but also about being a 'Boomer' gay man who is going to use his voice to entertain, even when people say, "That's nice," which is code for "Good luck with that boomer, you're to old for the music industry."

He's not buying into that thought and he's proving the doubters wrong with his new single, "Other Side." This is his 40 Plus: Real Men. Real Talk. story.

About Michael

Michael Fairman grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where music was always his passion and first love. As a teen, he released his first recordings through a small label in Chicago. Once he graduated high school, he moved to Los Angeles and eventually to New York to pursue his career as a recording artist. He formed a band with some of the top studio musicians in the city, performed in rock, pop, and soul clubs, recorded, and tried to get the A&R reps out to his showcases in order to get signed by a label. Between the financial drain, and the disappointment of not having key people show up to his gigs, Fairman eventually felt burned out and needed a major change. He decided to put music on hold and move back to Los Angeles where he began a career in TV Production and entertainment journalism.

Michael Fairman is after what his name implies: a fair chance. He is out now with “Other Side,” his mid-tempo pop/soul track about ageism, personal struggles, and finding ones inner-strength to face adversity and ultimately triumph. He cowrote the track with engineer and producer, Kyle Mangels, in hopes it might inspire those over 35 into action. “For years now, I have been told, ‘You’re doing music? You sing? How nice!’ when what was really meant was ‘Good Luck with that boomer, you’re too old for the music industry,’” he explains. Fairman says he understands that pop radio is targeted to those under 25, skews female, and that there are only a few coveted spots for artists. Many amazing talents – both younger and older - simply don’t get the airplay they deserve. He hopes to be the artist to break that barrier, because the music he performs and writes is similar to that being played on pop radio and in dance clubs right now. “I have a point of view and a unique vibe and sound to share, and I hope listeners will give me a chance.” Michael Fairman’s “Other Side” is being distributed independently and is available on Apple Music, Spotify and all major music digital platforms.

30 Aug 2019Dump The Pressure Of Others - Rick Clemons00:10:02

We're all under pressure. Crazy, fast-paced pressures of life. Yet, most of us play into this pressure because of some thing that someone else says we should do. It's rare the pressure we feel or participate in comes from our own internal making. Every piece of pressure is designed by something outside of us that we buy into. Some of the pressure is good, most of it is bad.

Guys, it's time for some self-care and a deeper look at where that pressure is coming from and how to dump it once and for all.

01 Oct 2021140: All The Sh*T You Can Do After 40 – Anthony Hand00:39:11
When you hit 40 you think, "It's all down hill from here!" Sure it is if you are on a bike, riding 500 miles and you come into the home stretch of the AIDS Life Cycle ride. Yes, after turning 40, that is just one of the things that today's guest did, that enriched his life. He's even become an animated film producer, and that is after he turned 50. Join us for a fun, campy, sassy chat with Anthony Hand, about how 40 is just a number, not a destination.

About Anthony Hand

Creator, Director, Producer: Anthony Hand is a product designer and former entrepreneur in Silicon Valley where he puts his storytelling skills to use on a daily basis. Anthony has seen every season of RuPaul’s Drag Race since Season 1, frequents local and national cabaret and theater, and is a recovering comic book geek. Drag legend Dina Martina is his spirit totem. Anthony is the president of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus.

Anthony is bringing his feature-length animated film MAXXIE LAWOW: Drag Super-Shero to life featuring the very first drag heroine. Backed by both private investors and a fandom that meets at the intersection of LGBTQ+ culture, anime, and a comicbook universe that Marvel and DC have yet to venture into. It will be marked by the film’s “Adventure Reel” screening in LGBT+ bars and cafes in major markets around the globe and be the world’s first introduction to these over the top, out of the box characters. The films crowdsourced funding initiative on IndieGoGO launches in September of 2021

Anthony believes the world has never needed a super-shero more than during these times that can only best be categorized as “Other”… much like his characters. Our super-shero’s first silver screen adventure pits her against her archnemesis Dana Bolical. With a nefarious scheme tucked-up and ready for every situation, Dana will quickly become the villain audiences love to hate. The first animated film to feature a drag superhero—and villain!--, Maxxie LaWow will feature a strong LGBTQ+ and BIPOC cast that will make turn heads and raise carefully plucked eyebrows as it evovlves into a camp favorite that will go down in HERstory.

12 Jul 2019Yeah that mind is meant to be mindful! – Will Schneider00:22:06

Ok, I’m going to be honest. I met him on an island in Bermuda. I was drawn to him. I saw things in him that I wanted. And, no I wasn’t some gay guy crushing on a handsome straight guy…well maybe a little. Truth is, I was drawn to his mindfulness and masculinity.

His name is Will Schneider, and from that chance meeting at a men’s retreat in Bermuda, I’ve come to call him one of my peeps, my bros, my inner circle. He makes me think, props me up, calls my on stuff and occasionally calls me to. He’s one of the finest yoga instructors in Manhattan, and he’s taking mindfulness, meditation, and everything some would call woo-woo into some of the coolest companies in Manhattan. He’s about to take you on a quick journey into what your masculine mind is capable of when you let go of your bullshit!

About Will

Will is the founder of Shift-to-Flow Mindfulness, a program that helps people weave mediation, mindfulness, and breathing into the fabric of their lives, communities, companies. He sees people losing themselves by falling into their day-to-day routines and forgetting to take a moment for themselves.

Will focuses on getting people in touch with their mind, body, and breath is the core to developing a mindfulness experience. Through exploration, practice, and play, hacking into this triad combats work stress, opens the door to their imagination, boosts their energy, elevates cognition, and ultimately fosters and improves Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

10 Nov 2023250: Elliott Kronenfeld – Navigating Gay Empty Nester Syndrome00:48:31
You come into your gay life and for some, being a parent is dream. Or maybe you have kids from a previous heterosexual relationship and then your gay life brings a whole new dimension to the situation. Regardless, parenting is a joy and work but what you might not be prepared for is the maturing that you have to go through when the next becomes empty. My dear friend Dr. Elliott Kronenfeld joins me today for a candid conversation about doing empty nesting from the inside out and outside in.

About Elliott

Dr. Kronenfeld is a certified sex therapist, college professor, TEDx speaker, and published author. His book Couples by Intention: Creating and Cultivating Relationships that Matter! was a #1 on Amazon for its category. He teaches sex and gender at the California Institute of Integral Studies in the US and in China. His specialties in sex therapy are fertility, infidelity recovery, intimacy skills, and men's sexuality. He is a father of two adult children, one through international adoption, and one through gestational surrogacy. He and his husband are now starting to empty nest in the Ogunquit, Maine community.

25 Feb 2022161: Skin Care, Plastics, And All That Anti-Aging Jazz – J. Shea Terry00:48:45
Like it or not, all of us gay men are aging. It's a conveyor belt and there is nothing we can do about it. Nor should we feel pressure to do something about it. Yet, some gay men do choose cosmetic surgery and skin care regimes to make themselves feel comfortable in their aging bodies. Then others do what they do to ensure they take the best care of their bodies in a way that suits them. Rather than be judgy about men who choose skin care, botox, and cosmetic surgeries, listen and learn and you just might be surprised what you might be able to do to be more comfortable in your own skin, without being a cosmetic surgery horror story.

About J. Shea Terry

J. Shea Terry is a Practice Integration and Development specialist in the medical industry who knows a thing or two about taking good care of yourself and making you feel good about how you look, without going to the extremes in the world of cosmetic surgery. From skin care to botox and natural approach cosmetic surgery, J. Shea Terry guides clients in the best possible approaches for making the most of what they have to work with to love who they are in the conveyor belt of aging.

03 Mar 2023214: Find Your Gay Wellness Match – Peter DeWitt00:40:20
Making your way through life as a gay man can be challenging. Then finding the right support whether that be for your mental, physical, or spiritual health can be even more challenging. Realizing this was a common issue for so many gay men, Peter DeWitt, founded Gay Wellness - a one-stop hub for finding therapists, coaches, yoga, masseurs, and much, much, more, all geared towards gay men and their unique needs. Today Peter shares his story of helping you get your gay wellness on.

About Peter

Peter grew up in Mexico City, Nashville, and California, and Spain, and has dedicated the last 18 years to practicing various forms of wellness modalities: yoga, meditation, somatic therapy, nutrition, and massage. He came out as a gay man in my mid-20’s, and sought out gay mentors, therapists, and wellness providers of all kinds on his own healing journey. He knows firsthand how important it is that gay men have access to other gay practitioners, as he's experienced his share of anxiety around his queer identity. This has been fuel that motivated him to create Gay Wellness - that all gay people all over the world could benefit from the same. He loves connecting with all kinds of people and loves being of service to the LGBTQ+ community!

10 Jan 2020055: Getting Radical Alignment With LIfe – Bob Gower00:25:05

Imagine being married 3 times, and feeling on the verge of suicide, and then getting WOKE! Woke to your truth and become radically aligned to your truth about what you wanted for your life. You got specific, dumped the bullshit, set the boundaries that would save you and make you say, "Oh shit!"

Welcome to Bob Gower's world. A world were radical alignment is not only the title of his forthcoming book but also the way he lives his life. What might happen for you if you radically aligned to your truth with intentions, honoring your concerns, setting boundaries, and allowing your dreams to fully come to life? That is the focus of our radically aligned conversation today about getting in alignment with yourself.

About Bob

Organizations are a superpower for humans. They help us thrive. Yet many organizations are failing to thrive—or just plain failing—because they’re not able to /adapt fast enough/ to our uncertain, fast-changing world.

Bob Gower helps organizations improve performance by /designing future-ready systems/ that help people work more effectively now, and adapt more easily to future changes.

In his talks, Bob explores: What makes organizations and teams succeed? Why do they fail? How can we work together more successfully?

In his consulting work, Bob helps organizations design teams and streamline systems, to perform at the highest level. The result? Increased speed and agility, more productive associates, happier clients, lower costs.

Bob’s work helping people build better organizations grew out of curiosity and a strong sense that we can be and do better. For ourselves. For others. For our organizations. For our planet.

As a young adventurer, exploring life, relationships and cultures, Bob:

  • Researched the Shaker movement in college.
  • Explored the backcountry of the US and Canada, doing manual labor.
  • Journeyed for 3 months from Bangkok, though Laos, to Hanoi.
  • Went to Japan to study Zen and martial arts; arriving with a few hundred dollars and a backpack, he made a life there for 6 years by playing in a traditional Irish band. (The Japanese loved it.)
  • Drove across Cuba having adventures involving rum and art.

These experiences /made culture visible/ to Bob. He understood in a profound way that there are a wide variety of ways to live and work.

The corporate world provided insights into what is effective—and isn’t—in work cultures, as he:

  • Led creative teams as design director at the SF Examiner, leading its re-design, and early digital presences for MSNBC, Newsweek, Discovery, and others.
  • Became expert in agile software development and lean theory as product leader for Silicon Valley startups MaestroConference and Genius Inc.
  • Traveled the world for Rally Software as an Agile Coach, specializing in enterprise-level Agile transformations.

Bob Gower saw people and organizations fall far short of their potential. He realized that bad behavior...

06 Nov 2020098: You’re never too old to be fully yourself – Colton Ford00:30:53

"I'm to old for that!" Really, then you must not have any adventure left in your life and your soul. How about instead, you said, "I'm never to old for that!" That attitude and outlook will make you stay as young as you choose to be, because it is all your mental outlook as to what you can and can't do, regardless of what age you are. Just ask musician and former adult film star, Colton Ford.

“Figuring our way through challenges, hardships and difficult times is an integral part of life for most men, and where we can learn and grow the most on our journey through it.” Colton Ford acknowledges that the past several years have been challenging for him – debilitating, at times – but he has found inspiration through the process, reflected in his songwriting, as he is coming out to reclaim his direction for his life and his music - even as a 50+ year old guy! This is his inspiring podcast on never being to old to have adventure in your life.

About Colton

His debut single, “Stronger,” from his upcoming EP, “Unity,” was written by Ford along with his collaborative partners, Ron Schrader and Spin Sista, collectively known as Woop Woop Productions.

Colton was also named in AfterElton.com's Top 50 Gay Male Musicians, he was featured in Cyndi Lauper’s video for her hit “Into The Nightlife,” and also performed on the Lauper-helmed 2008 True Colors Tour. He was the subject of the acclaimed 2003 documentary, “Naked Fame,” and has had cameos in the films “Another Gay Sequel” by Todd Stephens, and John Schlesinger’s “The Next Best Thing” starring Madonna and Rupert Everett. Glenn co-starred for three seasons playing Sheriff Trout on Here! TV’s “The Lair,” and was also a featured panelist on the channel’s resident chat fest, “Threesome.” He made his off-Broadway debut in 2012 co-starring in “Little House on the Ferry,” and also co-starred in Studio C’s Production of Howard David Rivers’ critically acclaimed play, “And All The Dead, Lie Down,” in Hollywood California, 2018.

For the past seven years, Ford took a conscious step back from his public life, still releasing an album (“Glenn Soukesian” in 2016) and several singles during that time, but not pushing his work the way he had done previously. “I needed time to process the losses I was experiencing during this time, reflect and grow,” he says.  “With regard to my work, these days I’m not compromising my vision, changing who I am artistically or doing music that doesn’t represent me.  I’m doing what I feel is right for me first and foremost. I’ve grown very comfortable and confident trusting my creative voices without question or compromise.  I’ve become Stronger.”

21 Jun 2019Just because you’ve got wisdom doesn’t make you old! – Brad Montgomery00:17:38

“I look up to you because you are older and wiser! You have so much wisdom.” Ok! God, I feel old now. Or you could say, “Wow what a compliment!” Depending on perspective, some of us guys take that as a kick in the gut, and others of us take it as a badge of honor and respect.

My buddy and fellow professional speaker, Brad Montgomery, throw down about the battle of aging and being seen as older wiser, and even not having all the answers!

About Brad

Like you, happiness expert, speaker and author Brad Montgomery believes:

• Happiness Pays.

• It makes business-sense to invest in the “people-side” of business.

• Speakers should be engaging AND have a useful message.

Brad combines all of these ideas — and a ton more — into everything he does on stage. He’s a very funny guy with some very relevant ideas about how to improve ourselves and those people around us. And…he’s funny. (Yeah, we said this twice.)

He’s a …

• Business Owner

• Author

• Blogger

• Idea guy

But he’s also one of the funniest business speakers out there. His keynotes and “Expanded Keynotes” (which is a fancy way to say “Longer keynotes that include some experiential, hands-on learning experiences” … which is a fancy way to say “Audience Participation On Steroids That Helps People Remember and Learn”) use an out-of-the-box blend of humor, wisdom, audience participation, music, and even confetti in order to keep the learning on high.

He believes:

• Motivational speakers should deliver tactics we remember and implement.

• The era of “canned” speakers is over.

• Your organization craves a speaker who can connect, who can have a conversation, and who can be relevant. They crave somebody who is authentic. Somebody who is funny.

02 Oct 2020093: Stepping Into and Letting Go of Love – Rick Clemons00:07:40

Not all divorces, job layoffs, or health scares require walking away in disgust from something that we love. In fact, really healthy situations lead us towards honoring the love for something or someone and graciously letting to go to make space for the thing that we love more. Today we explore how to do that without being assholes in our lives.

If you’re hating on your mid-life, then no wonder you could be in a crisis. On the other hand, you could be writing and publishing your first book, finding your calling that was so far removed from what you thought, and then finding out that your second book was being made into a movie.

27 Dec 2019052: Taking the walk of faith to leave your faith - Brian Gilbert00:24:22

Faith. It's something that guides us, gives us cause to take risks, and sometimes gets in the way of us being able to be who we are meant to be. Faith in ourselves, faith in the path, faith in our destiny. Especially when you realize that in order to come out of the closet, you need faith in all of those things and it might even mean coming to terms with your faith in a whole new way.

Former client and friend of mine, Brian Gilbert, shares how he navigated a crisis of faith to fully step into living his most authentic truth - being a gay man. A truth late bloomer, a father, husband, and grandfather, Brian has come into his own in his mid-50's as well as into his new faith.

About Brian

Brian Gilbert is a father of 4 adult children and a grandfather of a beautiful 18-month-old granddaughter. A native of New Mexico, he practices cosmetic and implant dentistry in the city of Las Cruces in the southern part of the state. Along with his duties as father, grandfather, and dentist, he enjoys reading, hiking, travel, music, and going to the gym.

08 May 2020072: How To Compete Every Day – Jake Thompson00:29:04

Every day is an opportunity. You either compete or give up. Whether it is with yourself or the rest of the world, you GET, not HAVE to compete. Yet, many of us allow the competition in our own heads to keep us from getting what we most want in life. The goal of competition is to get you out of your comfort zone and into your best life.

Jake Thompson, a guy who knows how to encourage, and compete, joins us today to talk about why men should compete in a healthy way with themselves and others to live their most fulfilled life. He's also going to share about his brand new book - Compete Everyday - The not so secret, secret to winning in your work and life.

About Jake

Jake Thompson is a professional speaker and the Chief Encouragement Officer at Compete Every Day, a brand he started in 2011 by first selling t-shirts out of the trunk of his car.

Jake works with organizations and individuals around the country, teaching how they can develop accountability, mental resilience, and leadership skills in order to make bigger impacts in their careers and in their life. It’s through his experience and research that he’s discovered how people who harness a competitive mindset against themselves can reach their goals, commit to action over motivation, and step into the leader they were created to be.

Jake is a third-generation entrepreneur, the youngest strategic advisory board member at the University of Dallas’ College of Business, and a graduate of both Texas Christian University (B.S.) and University of Dallas (M.B.A.).

Aging isn't a disease it's a reality and if you don't feel it you can't heal it, or at least that's what therapist, actor, and podcast show host Matt Marr says. He's the one person who can tell it like it is better than I can and when we get together behind the microphones, the truth will be told...between our snide remarks and giggles. It's two queens up, which means two gay guys dishing it about aging with grace and dignity, while being a little bit disrespectful and trash talking all at the same time. You will learn, you will listen and you will laugh...don't even pretend you won't. No pour you some sweet tea and park your bum for good ol' southern hospitality truth talking about getting old and dealing with it.

About Matt

If Oprah and James Cordon had a baby, raised on Dolly Parton's front porch—it would be Matt Marr.  Matt will talk to anyone. He's the guy in the grocery store that compliments your eye makeup and then two minutes later you’re asking him for dating advice. Originally from southern Oklahoma, Matt credits his love of talking to his large and loud Southern Family. He is a therapist and holds a Masters of Clinical Psychology, specializing in Narrative Therapy. At the same time, he is a successful commercial actor, seasoned improv actor, and has performed stand up all over the West Coast. He is a proud podcaster and the creator of the Sissy That Talk Podcast Network, including the hit podcast, The 90 Day Gays: A 90 Day Fiancé Podcast. Find all things Matt on social media @theMattMarr.

01 Mar 2024266: Stan Goldberg – Preventing Senior Moments00:43:48
We've all felt like we've had "senior moments!" Yet most are actually preventable. Helping guide as aging gay men to embrace our age and our real senior moments id Stan Goldberg - ally to the LGBTQ community who guides us on how to Prevent our Senior Moments as he shares his book by the same name - Preventing Senior Moments: How To Stay Alert Into Your 90's and Beyond.

About Stan

Stan Goldberg is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Language and Hearing Disorders at San Francisco State University and the author of 225 articles and nine internationally award-winning non-fiction books. Three were translated from English into Chinese, Indonesian, and Portuguese. In October of 2023 Roman and Littlefield will publish his latest book, PREVENTING SENIOR MOMENTS: How to Stay Sharp into Your 90s and Beyond. Stan’s research has shown that senior moments are not an inevitable part of aging. Rather, they result from problems with information processing. While most senior moments can be prevented, a few may signal the development of Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. His writing received 22 national and international awards. His memoir as a bedside hospice volunteer at the celebrated Zen Hospice Project in San Francisco, LESSONS FOR THE LIVING, was cited in Arianna Huffington's THRIVE as one of seven books anyone desiring personal growth should read. His website, www.stangoldbergwriter.com contains hundreds of free articles on aging, cancer, caregiving, and chronic illnesses. When not writing, he spends time wood and stone sculpting, playing wooden flutes he crafted, fly fishing, and acting silly with his granddaughters. He has been living with cancer for more than 20 years and devotes time to cancer and Parkinson’s support groups.

18 Aug 2023238: Rob Gutro – Uncovering the life lessons in the after life00:37:19
What can we learn from those that have passed on? Whether it be a pet, a family member, or even a spouses former partner, if we tune in to the essence of those who are no longer with us, we might just learn something about living life now. Author Rob Gutro shares his unique gift of hearing the messages from beyond in today's podcast.

About Rob

Rob Gutro is an author, paranormal investigator and medium with Inspired Ghost Tracking of Maryland. Since he was a teen, he could receive messages from ghosts or spirits (who have crossed over). As a scientist, he also provides some scientific explanations about how energy is the baseline for the afterlife and the medium that entities use to communicate. In 2005, Rob's late puppy passed and inspired Rob to write his first book and enabled him to communicate with pets. In his book, "KIndred Spirits: How a Medium Befriended a Spirit" Rob shares how he got to know his now husband's late partner (whom I never met in life), shares how he brought them together, sent an amazing look-alike to rescue him and his husband when they got lost in England. Rob participates in private paranormal investigations, helps ghosts crossover, and has provided countless messages from people or pets as ghosts or spirits. He lived in a haunted house, too!
