06 Jul 2021Episode 13 - Unearthed Arcana: Mages of Strixhaven - DnD: the Gathering01:00:30

Welcome to anther episode of the 3 Pillars of DnD Cast, where we discuss the 3 pillars of DnD (Social Interaction, Combat, and Exploration) and how focusing on these can change how you make your characters and campaigns.

In the Unearthed Arcana episodes we discuss new features release by Wizards of the Coast for all to playtest.

This is also a DnD: the Gathering episode as Strixhaven is a Magic: the Gathering plane whose campaign setting will be releasing Fall of 2021.  This is a magical school setting so the shenanigans will be great.

In this episode we discuss the Mages of Strixhaven.  Mages of Lorehold, Prismari, Quandrix, Silverquill, and Witherbloom are Cross Classes (a new concept for 5e).

17 Dec 2020Episode 3 - Character Examples of the Monk00:42:52

Welcome to anther episode of the 3 Pillars of DnD Cast, where we discuss the 3 pillars of DnD (Social Interaction, Combat, and Exploration) and how focusing on these can change how you make your characters and campaigns.

In the character episodes we each take a pillar, decide on a subclass exemplifies that and make a character based on that subclass.

We make the character at whatever level gets the general idea across for what we are going for, which tends to fall between levels 7 to 12.  We use the standard array for ability points so characters have strengths and weaknesses.

This episode we discuss three subclasses (Way of the Astral Self, Way of the Kensei, and Way of the Cobalt Soul) of the monk class and we make characters focusing on the 3 pillars.
