24 Mar 202512. "Only Gunshots to Guide Us" ( S2 E5)00:39:20

Y’all… buckle up. This week we’re diving into 1923, Season 2, Episode 5 – Only Gunshots to Guide Us – and let me tell you, this one’s a doozy. We’re talking about a seriously heavy, emotionally intense, and, at times, unwatchable episode. And I’m not alone in thinking that – the Facebook groups are on fire with fans who are just as baffled as we are about the direction this show is taking. We’re still all-in on 1923, but man, this episode had us asking: what the heck is Taylor Sheridan doing?

From Alexandra’s devastating arc to Whitfield’s ever-creepier schemes, this episode had us ranting, venting, and questioning everything – including our tolerance for how dark this show is willing to go. We also hit Montana, Wyoming, and even catch up with Spencer and a badass female marshal (more of her, please!). And of course, there’s still no happiness in sight. But hey, at least we got a voiceover from Isabel May, and we’ll take what we can get!

🔥 Episode Timeline Highlights

[1:03] – Why fans (and us) are not loving where this story’s headed

[6:45] – Alexandra’s brutal journey: from the boat to the train, to just about every nightmare in between

[14:21] – The rise of Banner: is the former villain starting to look like an anti-hero?

[22:10] – Spencer’s wild encounter with a salty female marshal (who might be the best character this season)

[31:33] – One powerful line: “Is this the world I killed for?”

[39:15] – Pete’s heartbreaking run-in with Marshal Douchebag

[45:00] – Tiana’s quick cameo and a teaser of what’s to come

[53:25] – We break down the title and wonder: are gunshots really all we have to guide us now?
