YBT shares information from “The Center for Gun Violence Solutions at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health” which addresses gun violence as a public health emergency and utilizes objective, non-partisan research to develop solutions which inform, fuel and propel advocacy to measurably lower gun violence. YBT shares statistics about MH in regards to gun violence with the goal of decreasing stigma and providing accurate, updated information on the topic.

This episode, as promised, is a more in depth look at each individual cast member of this iteration of Surreal Life (Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Chet Hanks, Johnny Weir, Macy Grey, Tyler Posey, Ally Brooke, OT Genasis and Josie Canseco). If you’ve never heard of the current season or couldn’t find it, you’re not alone. It was hard to access; however, YBT and Lyndsay recap the entire series while breaking down interesting storylines of each individual cast member, so you don’t have to watch!
Surprisingly, Surreal Life focused a great deal on mental health and wellness. YBT and Lyndsay talk addiction and recovery, anxiety/other mental health conditions, self-esteem and misophonia/sonophobia (fear of sounds and noises). YBT shares psycho-educational information about grounding and the 4-7-8 breathing trick for panic and anxiety. Kathy Riojas is a Texas native raising three children across the lifespan with her husband. Following an autism diagnosis of her youngest child, Kathy traded an almost 15-year career in public education for a new career in mental health. Today Kathy operates a solo private practice, is a freelance writer for Dallas Moms and Denton County Moms and operates an Instagram page, WithLove.Kat, where she unapologetically confronts the duality of grief and joy as a parent to a non-speaking autistic boy. Kathy is also a bravoholic and she shares thoughts on the recent announcement from Tamra Judge and RHONJ Jaqueline Laurita’s journey with ASD was discussed. This interview shares Kathy’s perspective about being a caregiver for a child on the ASD spectrum in an effort to share varied perspectives on this topic. The discussion was respectful, educational and of course giggles and sillies were had by all.

YBT thoughtfully discusses neurodiversity and neurodivergence, sharing conditions under the umbrella term of Neurodivergence; specifically ADD, ADHD, ASD are discussed. YBT shares psycho-educational research, statistics, diagnostic criteria (DSM-5-TR) and answers questions about which professionals are fit to diagnose. A discussion of misogyny leading to a disparity in care for neurodivergent females.
