24 Feb 2025263. Why Great Leaders Don’t Solve Problems (They Create Them)00:30:21

In this episode of Luminary Leadership Podcast, I’m diving into a different perspective on leadership. We often think of leaders as problem-solvers, but what if the best leaders actually create problems on purpose? Yep, I’m talking about intentionally crafting “good problems” that push the needle forward in innovation and strategy. Instead of just tackling day-to-day issues, I’m proposing we focus on creating challenges that spark growth and breakthroughs.

I’ll be talking about how staying reactive can really hold you back, and how true trailblazers are leveraging strategic problems to force progress. I’ll share a simple five-step process for identifying areas where you’re too comfortable, setting audacious goals, creating intentional constraints, embracing failure, and seeking outside perspectives—everything you need to start creating challenges that lead to growth and transformation, both for you and your business.

17 Mar 202273. Raising Luminaries: Amira's Story and the Gift of Perspective00:17:05
Today's episode is a story about how I cried my eyes out at my kids swim lesson and why it actually applies to you.    I don't know if this happens to you, but God has a tendency to swoop in and humble me, when I need it the most. He reminds me what matters and gives me that gift of perspective. And the thing is, the gift of perspective can be pretty short lived if you don't fully embrace it, but when you do embrace it, when you take it in and weave it into everything you do and the way you see the world, it can change everything.    If you're feeling the pressure and the stress of juggling your missions in business and at home, if you're in a season of busy and hurry, if you wonder when you'll finally feel that fulfillment and the contentment of it all, let today’s episode and Amira’s story inspire you in leadership and in parenthood, and what you're going to do with the precious time you have left.   Let’s raise them up right!   SHOW NOTES: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/episode73   Come connect with me on Instagram!
07 Oct 202127. Raising Luminaries: Disciplining With Purpose00:11:20
Discipline is such a key component of developing leadership.

Even as adults, we need our own levels of discipline in order to grow, evolve and stay committed to the path that we're on, but it’s especially important for kids. However, they're not going to self discipline in the early stages. They need boundaries and guidance.

When it comes to raising Luminaries, there are helpful ways to discipline. When we are disciplining our kids, it is really a moment of teaching and learning, or at least that's the hope. So, in today’s episode, we're going to talk about disciplining with purpose in a way that helps our kids to hear us.

Let's raise them up right!

13 Jan 202255. Raising Luminaries: How the School System is Failing Our Kids, Pt. 100:14:50

At Luminary Leadership, our focus is very heavy on helping you raise leaders as you build your empire and giving you the tools and the resources to do it. The other day, while I was having a meeting with my creative director Caitlyn, we both had a very stark realization that the school system and society are not helping any of us do that. It's not helping us raise leaders. It's not helping us build confidence in our kids.

Caitlyn showed me a picture of her daughter's progress report from grade school and my jaw dropped. It blew me away. I have to share it with you today because it's going to make your jaw drop too when you really think about what the schools are doing to our kids (disclaimer: Not every school, but I'm talking in general)

Today we are highlighting something that sometimes flies under the radar, but it is stripping our kids of possibility, creativity and confidence and it needs to be addressed.

Let's raise them up right!

From a young age, the words we say directly impact our thoughts, our feelings, and our actions and can ultimately affect the lens through which we see the world.

In today’s episode, I want to talk with you about something that’s been a work in progress in our home and that is - how words matter.

I want to share with you specific phrases that are heavily discouraged in our home, why we discourage them, in what ways we redirect our kids to say something else instead, and the meaning behind it.

18 Dec 2023202. My Yearly Business Review Process: A Comprehensive Guide to Planning Your Most Profitable Year00:42:05

In this episode of the Luminary Leadership Podcast, I'll be sharing my step-by-step guide to creating a breakthrough year blueprint. It's all about intentional planning and reflection, so grab your planner, journal, and financial records to track your progress along the way.

First things first, take some time to review your past year. Understand how you spent your time, what worked well, and what didn't. This will help you make necessary adjustments for the future and set yourself up for success. When it comes to finances, take a close look at your numbers. Understand where your money is going and identify any areas where you can make improvements. This will help you make informed decisions and set financial goals for the year ahead.

While you are doing this, don't forget to involve your family and team members in your planning process. Their input and support can make a big difference in achieving your goals. And don't underestimate the power of a journal. Use it to document your personal growth, insights, and reflections throughout the year.

To learn more about creating your breakthrough year blueprint, I invite you to join me for an upcoming free masterclass. It's a great opportunity to dive deeper into these strategies and get personalized guidance.

02 Oct 2023191. This is REAL Success: Work-Life Balance is a myth, but this isn't00:32:55

I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a community of successful entrepreneurs. Being able to mentor, advise, and learn from these driven individuals has been an enriching experience.

As I reflect on my own journey, I've often battled with self-doubt and fears of failure. But deep down, I've always known that I'm meant for something more significant. Today, I want to share my personal perspective on a kind of success that deserves recognition—one where I'm not only respected as a leader in my business but also at home by my family.

I hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire others to pursue a similar path and find their own version of success—one that encompasses both professional achievements and a loving, supportive family.

23 Jun 2022101. Raising Luminaries Summer Series: Pep Talk for Kids on Resilience00:15:51

It is summertime! A lot of us are going on road trips or taking vacations to the beach or doing different things together, as a family. Since all of our episodes are geared towards you, the entrepreneur, we wanted to shift our Raising Luminaries episodes for a couple of weeks and gear them towards your kids. That way, when you're in the car or when you're doing something as a family, you can have this short little clip that is not just directed at you, the parent, but your kids can tune in and gain value from it.

So, in today’s episode we're speaking directly to children of entrepreneurial parents. Because let's face it, sometimes messages they hear from anyone other than us (their parents!) are the ones they actually hear and absorb. It's from that place that we want to create messages for your kids around the ideas of the entrepreneurial spirit and leadership and why it's so necessary to develop these entrepreneurial skills.

And by the way, this is a small taste of what we have created inside our Raising Luminaries Co-op. We will be opening the doors in the fall so if you want to get on the waitlist, go to luminaryleadershipco.com/co-waitlist.

Let’s raise them up right!

06 Dec 202144. How to Create an Extraordinary Life of Meaning and Success with Tanya Dalton00:39:58

Today’s conversation has been a long time coming!

Trust me when I tell you that you're going to want to listen in and likely rewind and relisten.

So often we're all striving for the next goal, for the next vision in our lives, for the thing that we most want. But it comes at the sacrifice of us. It comes at the sacrifice of joy, of purpose and meaning. And when we really think about it, what we're all really craving is that significance.

In today’s episode, Tanya Dalton and I have a conversation about exactly that.

You might know Tonya for her previous book Joy Of Missing Out, but today we're talking all about her most recent book On Purpose: The Busy Woman's Guide to an Extraordinary Life of Meaning and Success.

02 Jan 2023152. My Yearly Review Process to Set Goals For My Most Successful Year Yet!00:25:44

It is time for a yearly review.

To me, New Year’s resolutions set an unrealistic expectation that things will be different just because the clock struck midnight, without acknowledging how to make them different. In a way, it's similar to the definition of insanity where we step into a new year with a new resolution, but we didn't change anything about ourselves.

So, today's episode is one that's going to help you shift life on its axis, in the direction you actually feel called to go. You'll be able to see the fruits of your labor, you'll be able to see the change and evolution of yourself and your business by looking backwards to go forward.

We're going to dissect last year and I'm going to teach you specific ways to peel back the layers on observing the last year so that you can actually build the year you want to live, that will take you into the long term vision that you have for your life.

This year, don’t just start planning and getting excited without making sure that you take the time to look at the last one and see how you can improve, tweak and develop in a way that is going to make the necessary turns to guide you towards where you actually want to go. And if you need some help with that, don’t forget to do the True North exercise at https://luminaryleadershipco.com/truenorth/.

01 Apr 2024216. CEO vs. Business Owner: What’s The Difference? | 3 Strategies for Entrepreneurs to Become Visionary CEOs00:39:19

In this episode of the Luminary Leadership Podcast, I come to you before wrapping up my work day to talk to you about 3 things you need to be doing as a CEO to up-level yourself from a business owner that is stuck in the weeds of their business. Because the term “CEO” has now become a cutesy title I am seeing people call themselves when really they are not navigating their business at all and I want to clarify what is actually required to be a true CEO of your business.

I challenge you to do these 3 things this week and let it create more growth, time, capacity, & profit in your life and business. You are going to be free from the low value tasks while making high value moves that will allow you to step into the leader that you are called to be and hold that title of CEO with pride.

15 Apr 2024218. Stop Spinning Your Wheels & Get Focused: Practical Strategies for Long-Term Success in Business00:28:02

In this episode of Luminary Leadership Podcast, I dive deep into the world of strategic thinking and leadership mindsets. I share with you five distinct ways that leaders set themselves apart: they're not afraid to take strategic risks, they see setbacks as learning opportunities, they always keep their eyes on potential solutions, they know how to balance their grand visions with the practical realities, and they're unwaveringly committed to their long-term objectives. I'm passionate about encouraging you, as leaders, to put personal growth at the forefront and to cultivate the qualities that resonate with your own vision.

This is actually a really strategic conversation around how leaders think differently to win. And I'm specifically covering the top five ways leaders think differently than most entrepreneurs.

17 Apr 2023167. Creating a Company Culture00:47:39

If I had to pick one differentiator that propels entrepreneurs and their businesses forward instead of keeping them stuck in the muck and mire of just what comes with running a business, that would definitely be creating a visionary company culture.

I have studied and watched successful entrepreneurs for years and one of the common things that I've seen across the board is that those who “made it” are the ones who’ve created a culture that is future thinking, instead of one that is reactionary and only dealing with what's right under their nose.

Keep in mind that when I say company, it can mean just you and your spouse or you and your two contractors, or you and a small team of 5 to 10 people and that's okay.

Because a culture starts with you alone.

04 Nov 202135. Raising Luminaries: Enabling Boredom00:10:10

Today’s topic might sound counterculture.

Right now we live in a world where we are constantly trying to fill every moment of our own time and our kids' time with another activity, something that we can do with them to keep them entertained and happy. So, today's topic might sound like a counterculture idea, because today we're talking about the concept of enabling boredom.

Enabling boredom goes directly in line with the possibility for growth and leadership for our kids and as usual, this is something we should be putting into practice for ourselves; creating that space, that margin in our lives to have nothing that we are accountable to or nothing to entertain us or distract us and to see what comes from that.

Let's give the gift of boredom and raise them up right!

15 Jan 2024206. The Best Business Advice I’ve Ever Received00:22:04

In this episode of the Luminary Leadership Podcast, I am thrilled to dive into something that has been pivotal for me. It is the "be, do, have" principle, a game-changing strategy for reaching your aspirations. I'm going to set it against the more common but less effective "have, do, be" mentality, and I'll explain how real transformation stems from first embracing the identity of the person you aspire to become, instead of passively waiting for external successes to shape you.

I'll also share a personal experience where this principle made a huge difference in my life, and I'm going to challenge you to adopt this new perspective for the next month.

  • Quitting & Identity (00:03:18)

Today’s episode marks a special milestone as our 100th episode!

100 episodes and nearly a full year later, I feel like I've learned some of my most powerful leadership lessons in that timeframe. There have been many times in the last year where I've leaned on my closest family and friends to get through some of my toughest times. It’s been hard, but at the same time, it's been so moving, inspiring and joy-filled because we were exactly where we're meant to be. Sometimes I can't even wrap my head around all the grace and true possibility that's come during this time.

So, to mark this special milestone I've distilled the last 100 episodes into the five most powerful and life-changing leadership lessons that were too good not to share and also not something you’ll hear in the mainstream, because these are not obvious metrics of leadership and growth!

29 May 2023173. Become More Productive for More Profit00:41:18

I am sick of all the entrepreneurs and the gurus and the experts out there who are touting this idea of more money. More money for money's sake doesn't mean squat. Because I know way too many, well-meaning entrepreneurs who grew their businesses and scaled their businesses the wrong way. They had plenty of money coming in, but because of the way they structured and built their business, they had more money going out because their business required more team, more salary, and more resources. So they had more money going out than they had going into their bank account.

I don't want you busy for busy's sake. I don't want you making money for money's sake. I want you to be productive for the sake of profitability. You can be productive by sitting down and hammering through that to-do list and checking a million boxes, but does that move the needle?

So, how do we ensure that the things that you're doing, the work that you're putting in, the energy you're putting into your business, the stuff you are focused on drives the business forward?

11 Oct 202128. How to Intentionally Map Out Seasons in Life + Business00:27:29
Today's episode is, literally and figuratively, all about stepping into a new season.

We have officially wrapped up season one of the Luminary Leadership Podcast and we are kicking off season two right here, right now!

What does it look like to consciously choose to craft a new season for your life, for your business? I believe life happens in seasons, but sometimes we get a little passive and allow those seasons to hit us when they may, instead of actually mapping them out and choosing to kick them off. If you've been in a season of rest, maybe it's time to hit the gas or if you've been in a season of constant work maybe it's time to lean into the season of family. If you've been in a season of hustle, perhaps it's your time to elevate into a season of strategy.

In today’s episode, I'm walking you through how I consciously shift from one season into the next, both in my life and my business and how I intentionally grow into leadership, new opportunities and our family's vision.

28 Apr 202285. Raising Luminaries: Are You Comparing Yourself to The Wrong People? Do This Instead!00:17:32
Are you comparing yourself to the wrong people? Do you sometimes look around at other business owners who are raising their kids, and you wonder how on earth they're doing it the way that they're doing it? How are they seemingly writing the books, getting the opportunities and making the money all while making healthy lunches that they're sending off with their kids to school or having the downtime with their kids?

We all know that comparison is the thief of joy, so in today’s episode we’re going a lot deeper than that. Who and what are you really comparing yourself to? Having a barometer isn't a bad thing, but if it's measuring the wrong metrics, you can get pretty off course relatively quickly, leaving you feeling like you're behind in business or failing your kids.

All that stops today because we're going to have a revealing, powerful, shifting conversation.

P.S. We’re also sharing something really special with you today that's been in the works for a long time!

Let’s raise them up right!

24 Nov 2022145. Raising Luminaries: How Can We Raise Grateful Kids in an Entitled World00:12:12

Today we're talking about the idea of gratitude and entitlement as well as the role that we personally play as entrepreneurs in our kids stories related to those two specific things.

We are combating entitlement while, at the same time, we want to give our kids the world. There was a time when raising grateful kids might have been a little bit easier, but I think we are up against a bigger fight nowadays. Expectations have changed. Childhood has changed. The family has changed. And the end result? A lot of entitled kids.

So, what are some things we can actively do to combat it? How can we play a pivotal role in our kids' lives as entrepreneurs, as leaders and as parents?

12 Feb 2024210. Leverage Rest & Grow Your Business | Taking Time Off as an Entrepreneur with Aly Caffrey, Founder of Master Maternity Leave & Operations Agency00:45:53

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Allie Caffrey, the innovative mind behind Operations Agency. We dove into a conversation about how entrepreneurs can truly elevate their businesses by introducing systems that foster growth and success. Allie shared her game-changing strategy, the "90/90 principle," which she describes as dedicating 90 minutes of focused, CEO-level work each day for a continuous stretch of 90 days to make significant headway on important projects.

During our chat, we explored the often-overlooked concept of intentional rest and how taking a step back can actually propel a business forward. Allie opened up about her personal experience with maternity leave, revealing how it served as an unexpected turning point for her business, spurring growth in ways she hadn't anticipated. She offered up some solid, actionable advice for fellow entrepreneurs on how to prepare for maternity leave, ensuring that both their business and their personal needs are met. And you are catching an early announcement to some big news for the Hartke Family!

The conversation with Allie was truly inspiring, and it culminated in a powerful call to action for all entrepreneurs listening. It was a reminder that at the heart of a thriving business is a leader who values and prioritizes their health and happiness just as much as their company's bottom line.

12 Dec 2022149. What Every Parent Needs to Know When it Comes to Porn, Sexting and Technology with Cheryl Kosmerl00:35:05

The topic of today’s episode is not our typical topic.

In fact, we've never had anything quite like it on the show. But it's so critical and so necessary to talk about.

Our guest today is Cheryl Kosmerl who is a licensed clinical social worker and has decades of experience working in that field. She has extensive history working with kids and adolescents and their families who have experienced abuse, neglect or trauma. But today's focus is specifically around the dangers that come with technology; things like sexting, pornography, and the fact that our children are being raised in an era where they have this in their back pocket at all times. And it's affecting everything from their brain development to the outcomes of their futures.

Our kids have it harder than we had it but it's up to us to scaffold and shepherd them through these incredibly new and trying times. So, Cheryl's conversation today is very relevant to every parent. And don’t worry, this is not all doom and gloom. The good news is there are things we can do and things we have control over. There are ways that we can have conversations with our kids, we can equip them, we can prepare them, and it's our job to do it. No one else is going to do it for us.

16 Sep 202121. Raising Luminaries: Identifying Passions00:12:48

As parents, we all want what is best for our kids. . . And sometimes, with the best of intentions, we can try to control their sweet little lives in the spirit of wanting the whole world and more for them. Sometimes, we want to hand them everything on a silver platter because we just want them to be happy, fulfilled and healthy. And I think parents who also run businesses can maybe (just maybe) be even a bit more guilty of this.

There's so much pressure on kids today: getting great grades across the board, being in high-level sports and making varsity, dealing with bullying, the digital world, and all these different things that they're facing can turn us into well-intentioned micromanagers for our kids.

In today’s episode I want to present an idea that's going to flip the script and hopefully free you of this pressure that we put on ourselves - because controlling and dictating our children's path is not only not helping them, but it's actually robbing them of the lessons through failures and mistakes, that they need to shape them into who they're actually called to be.

So, let's raise them up right!

03 Nov 2022139. Raising Luminaries: It's Time to Have a Conversation About Technology (for us and our kids)00:20:24

How do you raise children alongside technology?

I see so much content out there around technology and our kids. And it’s either total doom and gloom; or it is what it is, just let it be. There's no happy medium, there's no discussion around this.

As entrepreneurs, we need to be intentional about how and when we introduce technology to our kids, the way we talk about it, the way we model it, because the reality is - in some capacity, our businesses do depend on tech and also, our kids are growing up in a tech era. On top of that, my guess is that our kids see us on our devices more than the average kids, because we are running our businesses and our businesses are constantly with us. So, it's kind of inescapable. But this doesn't mean we're helpless.

I'm going to spend the next month talking about a few big topics around this idea to help us be more informed and make an intentional plan that's best for our entrepreneurial families. So, armor up! Because this is not an easy conversation, but it's a necessary one.

Let's raise them up right!

29 Nov 202142. How to Prepare for a Public Speaking Opportunity with Confidence00:38:27

Do you have a public speaking opportunity on the horizon?

With COVID somewhat weakening (fingers crossed!), summits and conferences are starting to happen in person. If you are able to secure a speaking opportunity, how do you prepare for it? In this episode, I am breaking down my process for how I prep for a speech with confidence and hope it can help you do the same!

I recently went out to Arizona to speak at a leadership conference on the very last day, on a topic that I've become pretty accustomed to speaking on, which is vision. I've spoken in front of over 10,000 people and in rooms as small as 10 people, but this particular talk was the one I'd been dreaming about giving, industry leaders all in one place. Before I took the stage for one of the most elite audiences I've spoken in front of, I started to realize that I had a process I utilized to prepare for my speeches.

Today, I'm sharing what that actual process was. What did I do to write it and practice it, how often did I go through it, what did I do to physically prepare to be on stage, what did I do to emotionally and mentally prepare for this speech? I'm walking you through my personal strategy to deliver a speech with confidence.

11 Apr 202280. How Your Childhood Traumas Might Be Affecting Your Business (And What to Do About It) With Michael Unbroken00:51:48

This is not our traditional episode, but it is one that will serve you immensely.

On today's episode we have Michael Unbroken. Michael is an entrepreneur, a coach, a podcast host, an award-winning speaker, a bestselling author, and an advocate for adult survivors of childhood trauma. Michael’s story is mind-bending but on top of that, the whole purpose of having Michael on today's show was to open you up to the possibility that as a high performer who is pushing for your next level of success, you might need to look deeper, past the surface.

When you're leading and you're in a role of leadership, both in your business and in your family, sometimes you don't feel like you have the space or the luxury to face what's really going on. Maybe it's too painful or it would take too much out of you and you've got nothing left in the tank because you have to give it all to everybody else, so you cannot afford to be anything but “okay”.

I hope that Michael’s story and our conversation will inspire you to see that healing and working through your traumas and focusing on what's underlying that surface, is all part of the process and it will ultimately craft you into the leader you really need to be

In this episode, Michael breaks it down with some tactical strategies and also some real life wisdom and a story that will have you in tears, while simultaneously having your jaw on the floor. He is truly an incredible speaker and someone I'm so proud to bring on this show.

Trust me when I say that this episode will leave a lasting impact on your growth, your potential and how you show up in serving the world.

04 Aug 2022113. Raising Luminaries Summer Series: Pep Talk for Kids on Mindset00:09:40

We are back for another summer series episode!

Today’s episode is an important one, because it's the foundation that everything else is built on.

Because if you don't believe that things are possible, if you don't open your mind in a way that allows you to see possibility instead of all the reasons why things aren't going to work out, you're going to continually hit roadblocks.

Fear of failure is normal, it's common. But what do you do with it? How do you approach it? How do you break through it? How do you get to the other side of it? So today, for our kids listening in (and honestly, for all the adults listening in too!), this is geared towards you and helping you expand that mindset to a place where it's going to serve you to help you get to your goals, and to live the life that you're called to live.

Let’s raise them up right!

21 Mar 202274. Waiting for Inspiration to Strike? 10 Questions to Ask Yourself Instead00:26:24

Have you been wondering where your inspiration went?

Most of us get a start in our businesses feeling so inspired by the possibilities ahead of us. That's why we start in the first place. But we come up on these seasons throughout the years where we wonder where that spirit of possibility went.

Are we just spread too thin and we can't feel it? Was that season when we were inspired before we had the demands of also raising a family? Are we too in the weeds of being in our business that we can’t even feel inspiration because we have so much we have to get done?

In today’s episode, I'm going to walk you through a simple diagnostic checklist with 10 tests to take you from lacking motivation and wondering where that good feeling went in your business to truly inspired leadership that will infiltrate every major category of your life.

We’ve all been there, but the difference maker is what are you going to do about it? What are you doing with this opportunity to become more aware that you are not feeling the same level of inspiration and how can you get it back again?

Perspective is everything in life.

It is the reason why people can live in extreme poverty, illness or tragedy, with a smile on their face and joy in their heart. It is also the reason why people who seem to have it all can feel like their world is crumbling when somebody messes up their order. It is all relative, but we can play a pretty significant role in modeling the power of having a positive perspective for our kids.

Today, we are talking about simple questions and conversations that we can bring to the table to help shape the lens through which our kids view the world in a way that’s going to add joy and resilience to the journey.

01 Aug 2022112. How to Get Vulnerable in Your Business (and why you need to!)00:21:28

Today’s topic might make some of you squirm; not because it's something that makes you uncomfortable, but because it might not sit well with everybody when we dig into it.

For many of us, letting our guard down as leaders and showing our cards can feel really raw. But one of the most powerful skills you can develop as a leader (yes, it is a skill!) is vulnerability. And I don't mean just any kind of vulnerability. Today we're going to talk about what it looks like to have the right kind of vulnerability in leadership, what mistakes might be hurting your growth that you think are actually things that are serving you and your team and your business, and why it is such a tremendous struggle for so many of us.

Who knew that there are so many parallels between training horses and leadership in business and life?

In today’s episode, I am joined by Joe Misner, a world-renowned wild horse trainer, for an incredibly powerful conversation. When I think of the entrepreneurial spirit, and leadership, there's so much that mirrors how horses operate and how they go against the grain. If you are a leader in business, or if you're looking to become one, you need this conversation. Joe’s curriculum that he uses for training his horses, all of his five C's, are directly applicable to how we lead in business and even how we lead at home.

I am so proud of this conversation because I don’t think I have ever spoken to someone quite as humble and kind as Joe Meisner, a person who is making such a massive impact.

01 Jan 2024204. 3 Key Things to Focus on for Business Growth This Year00:29:27

In this podcast episode of the Luminary Leadership Podcast, I'll be sharing three valuable strategies that can help you grow your business and improve your quality of life this year. Use these 3 things as a checkpoint to make sure your time, energy, and resources are used efficiently this year.

One of the key points I want to emphasize is the importance of strategic partnerships and relationships. As an entrepreneur, it's crucial to focus on finding partners and collaborators who align with your vision and values, rather than just going for the biggest names in the industry. Another important aspect I'll be discussing is mastering your schedule and aligning it with your overall vision and goals. It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks and lose sight of the bigger picture. By taking control of your schedule and making sure it reflects your priorities, you can ensure that you're making progress towards your goals.I'll also be introducing the concept of data-driven decision making. Instead of relying on gut feelings or guesswork, I encourage entrepreneurs to set goals based on actual data and numbers. By measuring and analyzing data, you can make more informed and strategic decisions for your business.

If you're interested in diving deeper into these strategies, I invite you to join my free masterclass. It's a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of these concepts and learn how to apply them to your own business.

07 Apr 202279. Raising Luminaries: Influencing vs. Influenced - Where Does Your Child Land?00:25:25

Wouldn’t it be nice if our kids could rise above all the noise and not be swayed by what everyone else is doing or saying? And instead know who they are and lean into the impact that they're called to make, whatever that might look like for them.

I have that vision for my kids.

But I also live in reality and I know what we're up against. I know they’ll struggle, I know they’ll face the temptations of blending in with the masses or making choices based on what other people are doing. I get that. But the goal is to help them get to a place where they are confident in who they are, know where they're being guided, and they have the tools and the modeling from us to make choices that are going to cause a positive ripple effect instead of being swept up in that current.

So, today's episode is dedicated to helping us as parents and leaders both to model and to instill the necessary tools, values and perspectives, to raise leaders who are influencing their environments more than being influenced by them.

Let’s raise them up right!

05 Dec 2022148. I’m Taking a Sabbatical and It’s Not What You Think00:30:02

I’m doing something I never thought I would do.

Do you ever feel like you're being hit over the head with something time and again, and you just keep ignoring it because it's not how you planned to attack that particular area of your life? Because it feels too difficult or maybe too unconventional or too crazy?

That's been my life for the last four months. I've been having all these wild signs and messages directly under my nose; so much so that I couldn't ignore it anymore. But it doesn’t mean that it felt natural. It's been kind of an unearthing and painful evolution.

So today, I'm sharing something that I never could have imagined sharing - I am taking a sabbatical. But it's not what you think. I'm not falling off the face of the earth, this is not a vacation. So if you're curious about what this sabbatical is, how I intend to do it and why, or if it sounds either dreamy or absolute lunacy to you - this is the episode for you.

Our summer series continues with an episode for the up-and-coming generation of leaders and today we're talking about the real power of family.

If there is one thing that's super easy to take for granted, it's our family. They're always going to be there, even when we aren't kind or considerate and they love us unconditionally, and are usually a part of our everyday life. It's easy to kind of overlook them, because they're always around.

Today we are digging into why it's so important to see family for what it is: one of the most important things in our lives. No matter your age, your interests or your goals, coming together with family will serve you in your pursuit of all things!

19 May 202291. Raising Luminaries: Creating Margin as a Family00:17:06

Today, I want to talk to you about creating whitespace as a family. You've heard me talk about creating whitespace in your business and I've walked you through my week to week strategies to have more whitespace so that you can show up consistently. I’ve also shared a little behind the scenes of my quarterly whitespace retreat where I go into visionary mode. Now it’s time to make sure you have that same intentionality with your family.

It is so easy to pack our schedules as people with businesses and kids. Between work stuff, and the kids’ school and extracurricular stuff, house that needs tending to, friends to see, and family to take care of, you may feel like you don’t have an ounce more to give. Trust me, I get it!

But the same way you might feel at max capacity in your business and the thought of creating some whitespace makes you uncomfortable (because you feel like you are not being productive yet you know it is literally the difference maker in the success that you're seeking!) the same reigns true for your family.

This is not just a season, this is now a habit. This hustle, this hurry is a habit and the only way to have that connection, contentment, vision and thriving that you crave as a family is through the creation of more margin. So today, we're talking about what that looks like, how to undo what might be a little bit broken at this point in terms of habits, and how to bring your family along with you.

Let’s raise them up right!

19 Sep 2022126. Does a Wildly Successful Business Equal Sacrifice for Your Family? Let's debate00:17:24

What would really happen if you got to that next level of success?

About 11 years ago, when I was first becoming an entrepreneur, I remember hearing some people say that they were afraid of success. And I really couldn't resonate with what they were saying. How could you be afraid of success? Success is such a good thing. And I don't think I fully understood what they meant until last year.

Since mentoring many of my peers and high level entrepreneurs, and coming into new opportunities myself, I got a little taste of this hunger for success, but fear of what it would do. What would it do to my time, my most precious resource? What would it do to my family? What would it do to our company as a whole? Would we get so big that it would be tough to manage? I started anticipating what my next level of success could potentially bring and worrying if I can grow something bigger and better without uprooting my values.

So, today we’re digging into the fear of success and how you can build your business without stripping you of your time and your quality of life.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE COVER:

"I feel spread too thin."

This is a common thread that I hear across all my clients, listeners, mastermind members and really just in conversations with my peers and friends.

A lot of entrepreneurs believe that with more time and success comes more peace and freedom, but there are people who have had many years under their belts and massive levels of success who still feel like they're being split in two, many of whom have the consciousness to create schedules that give them the space to be with family or to honor the things that matter, but they still feel pulled in too many directions.  So, how do we break free of that feeling?

Today, I'm walking you through what has helped me shift from that feeling of being spread too thin to having more capacity and to feel more intact and more at peace as I navigate a very full life. It is admittedly a work in progress but I have seen a lot of change that's breathing life back into my work and connection back into my relationships and I want to share it with you.

27 Oct 2022137. Raising Luminaries: How to Raise Humble, Confident Kids00:13:48

Today's episode is going to be a powerful one!

I know we all feel called to raise these incredibly confident kids. But at the same time, we want them to have humility, too and have the right perspective on the world. As entrepreneurs, we are naturally pretty confident people otherwise, we wouldn't take the leaps that we do take. We are sure of who we are, we know what we stand for and we are confident in our own ability to do something or to figure out how to do it. But, how do we raise confident people?

Is this a learned skill? Is it modeled? Is it in our DNA? And where does humility come in? How can kids be both/and? Today’s episode is an important conversation around raising humble, confident kids.

Let's raise them up right!

IN THIS EPISODE, WE COVER:

03 Apr 2023165. Our Natural Childbirth Story of Our 4th Baby00:56:18

We had our 4th baby!

For those of you who are wondering if I am officially 11 months pregnant, I'm here to tell you that I'm not - I had the baby. And I've been terrible about telling you about it! So today I want to share the birth story of our fourth child.

It's always pretty vulnerable and a little overwhelming to share a birth story. To me, it's so personal. It is so private, so special and sacred. But at the same time, I love hearing from other moms their experiences, because I feel like that's what I attribute to my own growth and just understanding of what birth can be. Each time I have a baby, I feel so inspired by the process and I feel like I'm kind of born anew with this new baby. I also feel like we've learned so much over the years and the difference between what it was like when I had our firstborn, Jack, to this most recent birth has been like night and day. Both Michael and I have grown so much, we've learned so much about birth and the experience, we felt more empowered and more confident in making decisions that are right for us and our family and our children.

I have been asked a lot of questions like:

What was the birth experience like? Why did you choose a birth center? Tell us about the baby. What’s the name? What’s the gender?

So, I am going to share a BIG time behind the scenes of a birth that I have never experienced before!

03 Mar 202269. Raising Luminaries: The 10 Habits of Wildly Successful Entrepreneurial Parents00:15:30

As entrepreneurs, we like to study the habits of really successful business owners in order to replicate a process or a system that's worked for someone doing something similar to what we're aspiring to do.

Today, I want to talk about combining the habits of our two most important callings in life - our business and our family. We're shifting out of having to juggle these two worlds and we're stepping into and transforming into what I call a founder family. You're not just an entrepreneur who can compartmentalize your life, having your business on one side and your family on another. It's all about how we integrate family and business.

In today's episode, I'm going to quickly cover some habits, rituals and strategies that I've noticed in studying these types of founder families. Hopefully, you can grab some of the ideas and make them your own as you design what it means to be a part of your entrepreneurial family and the growth that you are having together. I'm sure you've learned by now that you do not want your business success to come at the expense of your family and what matters most - and the only way to ensure that is to integrate these worlds.

Let’s raise them up right!

14 Jul 2022107. Raising Luminaries Summer Series: Pep Talk for Kids on Starting a Business00:13:52

Another summer series episode to inspire you and your kids!

Being an entrepreneurial family sets you apart from other families. Life is different for us because we see things differently. We see opportunities differently. One of the gifts we can give our kids is the vantage point of viewing the world through a different lens than other people. A lens that looks for possibility and opportunity not for lack and limitation.

Today, we're talking about that from an angle of entrepreneurship for our kids and I'm going to talk through some ways you can start a business of your own. It doesn't matter what your age or what experience you have. The power of starting a business is not just in the money; it's in what you learn, who you become, how you grow and discover what you like or you're good at. Just because you're young it doesn't mean you can't do amazing things!

What If True Confidence Had Nothing to Do with External Validation?

Ever feel like your confidence is on a rollercoaster—high when things are going well and crashing the moment you hit a setback? You’re not alone. So many entrepreneurs unknowingly tie their self-worth to external validation—likes, sales, client feedback—without realizing how fragile that makes their confidence.

In this episode, we’re getting real about what true confidence actually looks like and why it has nothing to do with outside approval. I’ll walk you through practical ways to build unshakable confidence from the inside out, including:

✅ Auditing where you're seeking validation (and breaking the cycle)

✅ Creating a decision-making framework that you trust

✅ Building competence in a way that fuels long-term confidence

✅ Establishing a rhythm that keeps your confidence steady—no matter what

If you’re ready to stop second-guessing yourself and start taking bold, aligned action in your business (and life!), this episode is for you.

Do you ever feel like it's Groundhog Day?

Do you feel like you are doing the same thing over and over and can’t see past today? So, where do you start? How do you unleash your entrepreneurial potential so you can have that successful future-focused business? Well, I’m going to tell you exactly that and hopefully, the end result will be you feeling aligned and hopeful for what's next!
