29 Feb 202415. Driving Change With The Next Generation with Dan Ryan00:59:12

When Dan Ryan looked around the creative industry, he saw a lot of people that looked like him… and he knew things needed to change. The industry needed more diverse voices and lived experiences. So he took a leap of faith and started a nonprofit, InspireMSP. InspireMSP exposes youth to a full range of creative careers, especially youth who otherwise wouldn’t have access to opportunities to see the industry up close and personal.

Today, Dan takes a generational view on the impact he can have in the world. And in this episode, he observes that his relationship with work changed over his lifetime. When he was a young, 20-something corporate professional, he was just fine having work be the driver in many areas of his life - learning, purpose, social relationships, etc. - needing less balance outside of work. But, over time, he changed. Now, even as a busy executive director, he prioritizes being present with his kids at home, recognizing the importance of how he shows up in AND outside of work. At the end of the day, whether as a dad or as a leader of a youth nonprofit, he measures his growth in terms of what he has done to impact the next generation of change-makers. Join us in this conversation for some next-level inspiration!
