Today's guest, Atiq Shomar, LCSW (they/them) is an antiracist, feminist therapist who identifies as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Atiq and Catherine met in Maegan Megginson's business coaching group. I also participated in Atiq's anti-oppressive therapist course. Today on the show, I’m joined by Kandi Zeller, a writer and editor at the intersections of spirituality, creativity, and justice. We celebrate wonder and whimsy. We explore how freedom to be our authentic selves increases our access to wonder, ourselves, soul-space, magic and presence. We discuss masking and the gifts of neurodivergence. We discuss how we would like society to transition from one way of being as the norm, to communication about who we are and what we need being the norm. 

We cover how disability can be due to trauma as well as physical health issues. Disability for Kandi reflects that she lives in a body that is not welcome or well-treated in our society. Exploring things that brough Kandi joy and wonder led her down the path to witchcraft. Kandi discusses her interpretation of tarot and its connection to our intuition. For Kandi, being a witch represents her connection to radical autonomy, rooted in feminism and nature. We discuss systemic barriers to meeting needs. Kandi recommends moving from us versus them to us versus problem to address them.
