21 Nov 201842. Not Criminally Responsible (NCR)01:06:40

The Canadian Criminal Code dictates that there are two ways a person can escape immediate prosecution for a crime. Both centre around the mental health of the offender. One option, is to be deemed not criminally responsible, and the other is the be deemed unfit to stand trial. In today’s episode we talk about both of these outcomes, and what happens in order to get deemed not criminally responsible, and what that means for your prosecution. Is it a get out of jail free card? Marta and Meaghan don’t think so, but we’ll let you come to your own conclusions.

02 Jan 201945. WKWD Blooper Reel ;)00:09:28

It's been just over one year of WKWD, and you know what we've learned? Well, lots about psychology, obviously, but lots about podcasting too. One of the greatest lessons from the past year is that Marta and Meaghan are prone to making mistakes. Seriously! So. many. bloopers. We've gathered up some of our funniest screw ups from the past year and have packed them all together in a nice little bundle for you!

Happy New Year listeners, and thanks for listening to us blather on all this time. Cheers to 2019!

16 Jan 201946. The Good Samaritan00:22:18

Have you ever walked past a person and thought "man, they look like they could use a hand" or, "I wish I had more time to stop and help them"? If yes, then this episode is for you! This week Meaghan teaches us about the good samaritan experiment that was held at a seminary in the 70's. Then, Marta and Meaghan explore how those findings can be thought about in the current day and what it means for us.

20 Dec 20176. Political Conversations with Family: Holiday Edition00:41:36

Hey guys,

We are back (finally) and we have a super relevant episode for you all today! Its about how to dance around those political conversations with your family during holiday season. Does uncle Joe get on your nerves with his political stance? or is aunt Margaret a thick headed ninny about environmental policy? This is the episode for you to listen to! We talk about why these conversations happen, why we get so heated about them, and GASP! how to resolve them in a calm manner that will not cause everyone to kill eachother.

I know, it's crazy.

Welcome for this crazy ride, we are so excited you're here!

27 Dec 20177. Making a Murderer: What Makes a Killer?00:52:05

This week on Who Knew? We Didn't! Marta and Meaghan talk about the things that go into making a mass murderer.

Have you ever wondered if any old normal person can be turned into a Ted Bundy or John Wayne Gacy? The answer is.... sort of. It takes a perfect cocktail of trauma and genetics to make someone like that but it's possible. Please don't try this at home.

Note: We are not criminologists, and do not have any sort of expertise in this matter. If you want to let us know something new about this, please chime in!

17 Jan 20188. Psychology of Social Media00:58:47

Who Knew? We Didn't!

Today we talk about Social Media.

Marta starts the episode off with OUTRAGE about google+, but luckily she chills out, makes tonnes of mic noises and chats with the ever patient Meaghan about Social Media.

Have you ever wondered about how Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc affect your life? We talk about that here! We talk about:

  • How social media affects your sleep
  • Why we like social media
  • How we use social media
  • Positives of social media
  • How race and media interact

As usual, reach out dollface, we'd love to hear from you.

12 Sep 201837. Dementia and Alzheimer's Explained00:50:43

This week, Meaghan and Marta discuss the very real and rather heartbreaking topic of Alzheimer's and Dementia. Though it's a sad and all too relateable topic for both M&M, they wanted to learn more and better understand this pervasive subject.

Topics: -the Three Things you need to diagnose something -why Alzheimers and Dementia are such a popular topic of research right now -Brain Food and what you can do to lower your risk of Alzheimers

Also discussed are some very cool studies and TED Talks found while researching this topic. If you're so inclined, you can check out these fascinating resources below:
