After several episodes with numerous reverends, in today’s episode, we welcome our very first Bishop - Amy Bishop! Amy's opening response of "I am a mother, daughter, friend" and more ultimately led to her saying she is an expression of the Divine. And when asked what "Divine" means to her, Amy talked of Perfection, and that which makes her feel warm inside; something that has a glow around it. Mmmm... so lovely...! We talked about Amy's process of writing/birthing music, and how it's changed over the years. She told us about how when she writes now, she often writes thinking "no one's every going to hear this" which allows her to write as freely and as authentically as possible. Amy says "express what wants to be expressed; you can edit later." We also talked once again about how we are here to create; that expressing art shouldn't be an "I have to", rather an "I want to"; that every song is ultimately a love song; about parenthood; and about how it's okay to be a pancake even when surrounded by waffles. Amy also talked about how much she loves and is inspired by her 3 kids, and their beautiful, musical Mother's Day gift they gave her this year. This is exactly what Glenn and I experienced in our latest episode with the delightful, thoughtful, questioning, and "super easy and fun to hang out with" Holly McCorriston. Holly's response of "I am a channel through which Universal energy expresses itself" was the jumping off point for an expansive, engaging, and enriching conversation on love, intuition, Knowing (with a capital "K"), critical thinking, and how broken down systems make it challenging for receivers and givers to support and feel supported. A former pharmacist, Holly spoke about how she used to be one of those "experts in the white lab coat." Over time, she discovered that the she had so much more to offer than what she was able to do as a pharmacist, so eventually gave up her licence, following her intuition to become a transformational coach to women on their journeys of self-discovery and empowerment. We talked about being scared to speak, tuning into what feels good vs. what doesn't, self-awareness, self-responsibility, solutions, support, gratitude, being in transition, impending motherhood, binary thinking, holding space for ourselves and others, breathing, and turning attention within rather than always looking outside ourselves for guidance. In today’s episode (and what is now another favourite episode), Glenn and I had the extraordinary, inspirational, and activational opportunity to hang out with new friend, classmate, coach, keynote speaker, and author of "Play Your Bigger Game" - among other things - Rick Tamlyn! After telling us how much he loved our opening question, Rick began by telling us he believes we are all creative beings here to create. Not only that, but that it's fun to create! This was the jumping of point for a conversation that lasted nearly two hours, during which we touched on creating from life, rather than getting through it; and, that we're all making stuff up to calm down our anxiety. We talked about distinctions (e.g. how Rick is envious rather than jealous of Brené Brown), and how offering distinctions is a great leadership skill. We talked at length about what it means to play your bigger game; how you're never NOT showing up; how the antidote to doubt is actually commitment not confidence (and why Rick makes that distinction); and, that the real source of security is our creativity - creativity which is always, always, always looking for, and will ultimately find a home. Rick even told us about one of his favourite books, "Creativity Inc." by Pixar co-founder Ed Catmull, and why he's recommended it time and time again to people really interested in playing their bigger game! Context, creativity, "do to get" vs. "express and receive" (thank you Leza Danley); dominion vs. domination; identity vs. image... the conversation just kept on going! Rick also talked about what it was like when he found out Iyanla Vanzant had recently talked about his "Play Your Bigger Game" book and what it takes to be a leader on her inspirational show "Iyanla's Anti Viral Message"! In this episode, Glenn and I had the absolutely lovely opportunity to spend some time with singer/songwriter, guitarist, deep thinker, Spice Girls fan, contemplatively curious thinker, and gem of a friend, Danielle Lebeau Petersen! In today's episode, Glenn and I had a super fun, dee-lightful time chatting with good friend, creative inspiration, and modern day mystic - among other things - Rev. Kirby Ingram. In letting us know she'd pondered our opening question for some time, always coming up with a different answer, this time, Rev. Kirby settled on "I am Consciousness - an individualized expression of that." And then, over the next 2 hours (settle in folks!), we talked about: mysticism and her spiritual journey (which started when she was around 5 years old); how studying with Don Miguel Ruiz opened her up to the interconnectivity, rights, and responsibility of living in harmony with each other and our planet; how she "grew up" at Agape, with Michael Beckwith and the Agape community; leading her all the way to the Global Truth Center Los Angeles, and the divine intertwinglement of quantum physics and spirituality. Rev. Kirby also regaled us with poignant stories of some of the visceral, transcendent experiences she's had, including the profound sense of coming home as she stepped off the train onto Scottish soil, and the otherworldly experience she had when being told of her now husband's otherworldly experience with the oldest pepper tree in California - on their first date! In today’s episode, Glenn and I had one of our most mind-blowing conversations yet, as we spent an hour with the author of "The Quantum Revelation" and "Dispelling Wetiko", artist, Buddhist Practitioner, and quantum physics champion, Paul Levy! Paul's opening response of "I have no idea" opened the door to our conscious conversation about: asking the right questions; creativity; and how awakening to our creative genius is the solution to all our inner world crises. Paul also talked about how we are all part of a collective dream, and spoke to the dangers of the mind-virus Wetiko and its insidious hold on our collective consciousness and seeming perpetuation of an objective reality. He invited us to understand how imperative it is for each of us to awaken in this collective dream and shift from believing we live in a world of separation to embracing and embodying the magic and super power of living in a seamless, whole quantum universe. Paul also implored us to be accurate with our language, and to do whatever we need to do to ignite our intuition. Even though the conversation got pretty heavy, what an absolute honour and thrill it was to welcome thinker, writer, philosopher, and psychology student, Emily Rodgers! The words "I am free," - Emily's resounding response to our big question - were the rich inspiration for a frank, candid, curious, sometimes worrying conversation on personal freedom, critical thinking, and responsibility for the reality we are each creating for ourselves, and for our world. We talked about value, meaning, the concept of objective truth, morality, and justice. What an absolute delight it was to finally reconnect with friend, transition coach, healer, teacher, and champion of ceremony - Treecia Ramey! Her candid opening response of "Is it okay if I say I haven't got a clue. . .?" opened the door to a rich and enthusiastic discussion on being okay with living in the "I don't know", being in transition, and the importance of ceremony in our lives. Treecia talked about how her recent "Reconnect Now - No More Waiting!" online Summit came out of her passion for ceremony, and how feeling alone, depressed, even abandoned by the Divine, all led her to put together this incredible event so people all over the world could acknowledge, celebrate, and reconnect to the authentic self within, and to those in our lives. 29jan22 - Inspired and activated by the Truckers Freedom Convoy to Ottawa, the incredibly enlightening interview with Jordan Peterson and the Hon. Brian Peckford, along with the palpable enthusiasm and unifying voice sweeping the nation, Glenn and I invited back one of our favourite guests for our very first live streamed podcast so we could talk about the topic of the day - freedom! It was so fun to welcome back psychology and philosophy student, writer, editor, and critical thinker extraordinaire, Emily Rodgers. And, much to our collective joy, our conversation was rich, engaging, and full of ideas and questions as we got caught up on how each of us was feeling about the ongoing Covid response in our country and the province of British Columbia, how we all felt so ignited by the Peterson Peckford interview, and what the Truckers Freedom Convoy represented for hundreds of thousands of Canadians who were finally starting to feel heard and that they were not alone. Emily began by saying how grateful she felt to be, "no longer screaming into the void," and how she felt a sense of relief, pride, and connection she hadn't felt as a Canadian in a long, long time. We talked freedom, unity, peace, charity, and support. We talked about how there was something inherently Canadian about truckers protesting peacefully (even having a good time while doing so) in their big 18-wheelers, with steam and exhaust hissing from valves and pipes; about flags on hockey sticks waving, and warm breath steaming up the cold winter air; and coming together across this nation of ours as one, unified voice. Sticks and carrots, lack of opposition and debate, "who governs me?", and resilience were just some of the aspects of freedom that bubbled up during our time together. In today's episode, Glenn and I had the enlightening, entertaining, and super fun opportunity to chat with our friend and one of my fellow classmates, Rev. Liza Marquez! Speaker, writer, minister, and all 'round powerhouse, Rev. Liza's response to our question (after giving us a glowing review of our podcast... thank you Liza!) came down to the distinction between who she knows herself to be vs. what she sometimes thinks herself to be. We talked about standing in your own truth, and the power of dreams. Our conversation invited us to consider what we're anchoring ourselves in; the value of security; and the power of curiosity in our lives. Rev. Liza also talked very honestly and candidly about how her separation from several years ago was the impetus for her deep dive into Spirituality/Consciousness Studies, and how what she learned ended up allowing her to see her ex-partner as a reflection of herself, finding compassion, understanding and grace where there had been anger, divisiveness, and pain for so long. We talked about Oneness; and the profound meaning of the slogan, "Every Child Matters" which commemorates, honours, and brings awareness to the thousands of former residential school children and their families/communities in Canada, including the recently discovered bodies found in mass burial sights across Canada. Glenn also brought in his new take on Noah's Ark, the "Knower's Ark/Arc", which invites us to consider what thoughts, beliefs, and ideas we choose to bring with us to populate our new Earth (i.e. life experience). I can still feel the warm, fuzzy glow Glenn and I both experienced from today's episode with the lovely, insightful, and inspirational Maria Nemeth. Psychologist, ontologist, published author, transformational speaker, and empowerer of thousands, being immersed in Maria's energy was an absolute joy! She started off by saying how much she loves our big question, and talked about how there is so much nuanced meaning to the question depending on how it's asked. (This made me feel giddy, as I've devoted a section of my new, upcoming book to that very topic!) As we got into our conversation, we learned that Maria feels she is here to give people principles and tools they can use to live with more clarity, focus, ease, and grace. She told us that life is about doing what we are meant to be doing; that it's about discovery and empowerment. We went on to talk about the importance of distinctions - principles vs. tools, psychology vs. spirituality, and spirituality vs. ontology. Maria also shared her insights on why being willing is the absolute number one thing we can do in order to change our lives. She also highlighted the difference between being willing (verb) vs. willingness (noun). One of the most valuable nuggets was Maria's introduction on the word "nevertheless". She told us about what an activational tool this word was for her as she went through chemo fifteen years ago, and how adding "nevertheless" before anything that requires our attention empowers us to go ahead and do whatever it is we want or feel we need to do, regardless or in spite of what's going on. Maria also talked about the "Four Boxes", about our brains and conclusions, and introduced us to the concept of Julian Rotter's internal vs. external locus of control. She also told us about her "Mastering Life's Energies" program, the power and value of coaching, and the "Gratitude Protocol". This, and so much more...! On a more personal note, Diane spoke about how much she and her partner of 50 years, Michael, enjoy hosting people; bringing friends together for good food, great wine, sweet treats, and wonderful, engaging conversation. And that when it comes to living life, bringing and spreading joy is the greatest gift she can give to all in her orb! What an incredible episode this turned out to be with musician, actor, social activist, and activational speaker Daryl Davis! "I am just an ordinary person who wants to make society a better place to be, just like my parents did for me." This was Daryl's response to our big question, and the jumping off point for what felt like in incredible, eye-opening master class for the first half of the show. Daryl shared stories of his multicultural upbringing, his first experience with racism at age 10, and how his European life experience compared with his American life experience. He talked about how, from that initial experience with racism in America (that was so different from his life experience in Europe), the main question he wanted answered was, "How can you hate me when don't know even know me?" He also talked about his first encounter with a Ku Klux Klan member, and how that meeting eventually led to an interview and subsequent friendship with the Grand Dragon of the KKK of Maryland, Roger Kelly. Daryl talked about how ignorance leads to fear which breeds hatred which incites anger which lead to destruction. He also talked about the different kinds of racism, and how important it is to get to the root of the cause, rather than just deal with the symptoms. This, and so much more...! In this episode, Glenn and I had the wonderful opportunity to engage and connect with new friend, perinatal counsellor, freedom advocate, mom, wife, and critical thinker, Maribelle (a.k.a. Karine). Maribelle got the conversation going by talking about how she believes so many of us are so wrapped up in our jobs, even identifying as the work we do. She goes on to say what a small aspect our jobs and work are in the grand scheme of things, and that we are so much more than that. In today's episode, Glenn and I had the enriching opportunity to spend some time with transformation expert, intuitive healer, author, and speaker Angela Strank. 

From her expression of graciousness for the land acknowledgement offered by Glenn, Angela emphasized what vital roles the land and its energy play in her life. 

In answering our big, juicy question, she responded, “How do you answer that?! There are so many layers.” 

Angela talked about small vs. big picture and about being “all of it.” She spoke of the magic and energy of richness, expansion and healing, and endless potential for expansion. She talked feelings, connectedness, and aliveness. 

And things really got going when I asked Angela about horses. She talked about them being the love of her life. Her relationship with her horse, Elvis. Why the relationship between rider and horse is such a profound one, and how that relationship is a brilliant metaphor for surrender and trust. 

We talked presence, choices, chakras, isolation, and energy, energy, energy. This and so much more...

An author, coach, minister, mom, former reality TV star, friend, and more, Andrea's response of "I am more non-physical than physical" was the jumping off point for a thoughtful, honest, and insightful conversation filled with bravery and vulnerability, and laughter. As we talked about how to live from the Quantum (infinite possibilities) while still being rooted in our seemingly physical reality (life), we talked parenting, the power of choice, how everyone wants to feel loved and like they belong, and about seeing the innate perfection of everyone - no matter what their behaviour. Andrea told us how our words are like magic wands and that it's so important to choose and use them wisely - that everything we think and say is what ultimately creates the reality we experience.
