What’s the Craic? (Christina & Brenna)

Season 8 of our favorite dating show is now on our screens and we could not be more excited! This episode Christina and Brenna dive into this year's islanders and discuss the most controversial change this season has offered us so far...the public pairing up the islanders instead of letting them choose! Things have already started to get interesting and we cannot wait to see how the rest of this season will go...

As always, the beginning of the series is a slow burner, but that doesn't stop the craic from flowing. This episode Christina and Brenna talk about the potential love triangle with Luca at the forefront; the Italian stallion and who he decided to couple up with; what the islanders had to declare to one another in the first challenge of the series; and of course, all the tangents and antidotes that Brenna and Christina have to offer. 

Things are starting to heat up as we see our first bombshell of the season steal an islander and leaving another one single in the process. In this episode, Christina and Brenna talk about how different this group of islanders behave in comparison to other seasons...it seems the boys (surprisingly) are more closed off than the girls and honestly, we're here for this group of empowered women. There's a big discussion on who is the snake in the grass, the importance of being funny, and our very first date in the villa! We're only left with thinking one thing though: we want more Indiyah on our screens! 

We're four episodes into this season and it's all a mess we can't wait to watch unfold. This episode Christina and Brenna talk about the words Davide uses to try to describe Gemma and the different words men have used to describe them in the past. Luca's behavior is interesting, Tasha seems to be self-sabotaging, and Ekin-Su is on a mission to shake things up, arguably more so than any other islander in Love Island history. 

So much has happened in such a small amount of time. Some of us at What's the Craic started this season not on Team Andrew, but after this episode could it be, Give-Me-An-Andrew-2022? Tasha and Andrew seem to be headed in the right direction, while Luca seems to be planting all of his seeds to see where his garden will grow. We see our first islander leave the villa as well as the first official recoupling for the season. Don't worry, Christina and Brenna talk about it all in this episode, so stick around!

AND...we're back...yet again! But this time, with a vengeance. It's the longest episode of What's the Craic yet, but potentially the juiciest. A new boy enters the villa and causes some havoc for one girl in particular. We're convinced Davide and Ekin-Su may have been made for one another after that game of Never Have I Ever, but some of us aren't too convinced about Dami and Amber. Also, does Ikenna need to step his game up when it comes to Indiyah? Brenna and Christina get into it - relating all that's happening on the island to their own lives. 

We're back baby! And here at What's the Craic we have decided to completely skip over last season and take our time with this one because we are INTO it. It's the second winter season of Love Island and we're in South Africa with a brand new villa, host, and cast. In this episode Brenna and Christina deep dive into the new islanders, share their predications for what they thought the first coupling up would be, and ask the important question: do the British know what Bratz dolls are? And are you a chili pepper girl or a spicy margarita gal? 

It's the second episode of our favorite series and things are already spicing up. Starting off strong with a truth or dare game, we are given some *chef's kiss* moments like Will licking Olivia's entire foot and Lana splitting her skirt while giving a lap dance. We watch Tom chat up all the girls and then inevitably make his decision on who to couple up with leaving one islander single and vulnerable. And don't worry, Christina and Brenna get into that Dirty Laundry game as well, where the islanders' secrets are spilled. Would you tell someone you're joining the army just to stop seeing them? 

It's the third episode of the series, and things are far from being settled in the villa. With two new bombshells entering, the possibility of heads turning is higher than ever. Quick debrief, Tanya and Shaq kiss finally (yay), Olivia is more physically attracted to Haris (weird), and Will is the islander we never knew we needed on this show. There's just something about a quiet confidence. Tanya and Ron go on dates with our new islanders David and Zara and we have A LOT of thoughts, some of them being: cheaper products are easier to get your hands on; if there's one thing we're gonna do, it's be upfront about our feelings; and to quote Tanyel, "if you don't rate yourself, how can you keep a man on his toes?" 

It's like the wild, wild west out here baby, so buckle up! Zara is single handedly shaking up the villa and turning heads while David seemingly has eyes for one girl and one girl only. Our daddy of the season, Ron, seems to be confused and wanting to put a couple eggs in multiple baskets, but can we really blame him for playing the game? After all, dating is just asking yourself, "what are the most important boxes for me to be checked off by a partner?" The beer pong game wreaks havoc amongst our islanders and Christina and Brenna deep dive into all the drama.

This episode may be the most unhinged yet, in our humble opinion, and we're finally seeing who's playing the game! Between the aftermath of Haris and Shaq and Olivia and Zara there's already so much to unpack! Like, what's going on with the love triangle between Tanya, Shaq, and David?  The recoupling had Christina and Brenna on the edges of their seats and the only happy moment this episode was Ron and Lana finally having a kiss because he was "clucking for one!" *swoon*

Things are slowly warming up in our favorite villa! This episode Christina and Brenna discuss Chloe's group date, the first game of the season, and the importance of dad bods in the villa. OMG! Things got wild and we. are. here. for. it. The show always moves a little slower in the beginning of the season, but this episode is filled to the brim with twists and turns and SAUCE. Christina and Brenna talk about the savage dumping, the first date of the series, and the repercussions of that beer pong game. We have two new bombshells about to enter the villa and, based on first impressions, are not too impressed. Prove us wrong, Love Island, and stayed tuned for more banter, babes! 

Well ladies and gentleman, Christina and Brenna are eating their words after this episode because they were in fact proven wrong by our bombshells. In this episode they talk all about the bombshell dates, the first snogs outside of a game on the show, and the possible connection between their two favorite islanders. The big debate of Jake's sincerity with Liberty is brought up again, and leaves us wondering, is there trouble in paradise? With a recoupling looming, we have no idea what's going to happen, but we cannot wait to watch it all unfold on screen. 

We had our first recoupling and it was down to the girls to choose who they wanted to be coupled up with! In this episode Christina and Brenna discuss Chuggs and Liam getting to know the girls in the villa, how oblivious Brad seems to be, and the recoupling that had us all on the edge of our seats. 

This episode Christina and Brenna discuss what on earth Rachel is going to do when it comes to picking between Brad and Chuggs, how some of our islanders are not feeling it, and that HILARIOUS undercover lover game. Also, shoutout to Booby Buckets, please sponsor us. 

BOY OH BOY! The cracks are beginning to show. We were left feeling HOPELESS after this episode. This time around Christina and Brenna discuss Rachel's decision, kisses shared between some of our islanders, the first hideaway stay, and that beyond awkward brunch. After this episode we are left wondering, who sets the scale when it comes to rating people and what is actually going on in this villa?! 

We should rename this podcast "Hugo's fan club" because we must protect that man at all costs. This episode Christina and Brenna discuss the blowout between Hugo, Sharon, and Faye and how it left them in disbelief. They also go over the boozy brunch the girls get sent on, the two new bombshells, and the difference between the boys and girls vulnerability this season. We're still left wondering...what actually is Brad's type and what are dark features? Let us know if you can figure it out because we have no idea. 

This episode Christina and Brenna dig deep into the dates our boys went on with the new bombshells. They also get into the one question that has been on everyone's minds: does the word "homely" mean two different things in American and British culture? Listen along to also hear their thoughts about the ending of one of our couples!

It seems that every one has lost their heads in the villa and we have too! This episode Christina and Brenna go over the sexiest girl challenge and the feelings that seem to have come out of left field. Don't worry, they also share their feelings on the kiss that left us all reeling.

How many dumpings have we watched in the past three episodes?! The boys have whiplash from breaking their necks, the girls have whiplash from the boys mad moves, and we have whiplash from keeping up with it all! Christina and Brenna get into it and don't shy away from saying how we are all feeling...let's just chuck all the men in the bin. 

Steady on, Teddy! We are here for our new bombshell and Christina and Brenna dissect all four of the speed dates some of our lovely ladies went on. Although they have differing opinions on who had the best date with Teddy, if there is one thing Christina and Brenna can agree on it's that one girl in particular needs to go. With the recoupling looming, what on earth is going to happen?!

Finally! The first episode that made us feel like we were watching LOVE Island. Christina and Brenna get into the dramatic recoupling that kept us on the edge of our seats, the disgusting food challenge that the producers keep bringing back, and all. of. the. snogs. Can we also take a moment to acknowledge Hugo's speech because we are swooning! Please send someone in for that literal angel of a human. 

We are starting to see small connections form in our villa and we're here for it! Although our standards are pretty low, some things we are certain about, Liberty is our queen, Millie makes a cute nurse, and a cheese toastie is just a grilled cheese. This episode with Christina and Brenna features musical breaks and a whole lot of banter! They go over Brad and Lucinda's date and the most savage dumping technique that we haven't seen since season 3! 

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT DUMPING?! We're still reeling about it, but let's be honest, we knew what the outcome was going to be. We may have said goodbye to one of our islanders, but we're also saying hello to a new one. Christina and Brenna get into it this episode and don't worry, they discuss that fight between Chloe and Toby, too. 

Christina and Brenna are back with their thoughts on this episode of Love Island and the return of Brenna's Astrological Corner! We watched AJ make her move on Aaron, Teddy, and Hugo, but we don't know yet who she will be going for! Jake and Liberty share a cute moment boxing together, which reminded Brenna of that one time she took Christina to her gym and it didn't go so well. While the Love Island producers work hard, Faye has proven that she works harder and gets all of the islanders to play a game that may or may not have ended in some kisses. Christina and Brenna also talk about some of our previous islanders from different seasons and discuss who is still together and which couples have Love Island babies.  

Danny is in the villa, people and he's going on some dates! Christina and Brenna go over all of it and by it we mean mainly Danny and AJ having SO many chats with our other islanders. We have a recoupling looming and we have no idea what's going to happen! 

AND....we're back! This time around Christina and Brenna begin by taking a Love Island quiz to see which iconic Love Island girl they would be! Then they get into it and dissect all that's going on in the villa, but mainly the love triangle we didn't ask to see on our screens. Also, has anyone else noticed how aggressive the snogs are this season?! Just sayin'....

We begin this episode with Christina and Brenna finding out the answer to the question everyone thinks about,  how far would they go in Love Island? Who would be the winner? The saga of the love triangle continues and comes to a close (thank goodness). We have another Hideaway stay and in the words of Chloe and Toby, "oh yeah!" Our islanders play snog, marry, pie, and the game might have some repercussions...

CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS EPISODE? Christina and Brenna have so many feelings after watching...some good feelings and some bad. We see Britain's sweetheart disrespected and we will not stand for it! But something we will stand for, Tour de Faye. Yes honey, Teddy and Faye get a date and we are living for it! The results of the voting are in and we have our bottom six, but who is going to be dumped? Stayed tuned to find out.  

We said goodbye to two islanders and hello to three more! What are we thinking about our new bombshells Abi, Georgia, and Tyler? Are they here to play games and mess things up or are they here to find love? Like Hugo said, you never know what's around the corner. 

OUR HEADS ARE GONE! This is probably the most dramatic episode of the season yet and Christina and Brenna get into it. They cover all the bases starting with Tyler and Kaz, the Toby, Chloe, and Abi triangle, and the amazing speech that Hugo delivered. If you aren't on Hugo's side then you need to get your head checked. With that said, justice for Georgia.

It's the aftermath of the recoupling and tensions are HIGH in the villa. It feels like there is a massive divide and all we want are for things to go back to normal. Amidst all the drama, there are some lovely moments that Christina and Brenna talk about like Millie and Liam's date! Yay! And we also have our first official couple in the villa! While there may be a divide between Christina and Brenna on this topic, this is what the show is all about, people. 

The rivalry between Toby and Hugo comes to an end...kind of. This episode Christina and Brenna talk all about their highlights from Sports Day and the conversation between Aaron and Lucinda that made us all see right through that relationship. We have another dumping and we did have to say goodbye to one of our OG boys and their partner who's response went something like, "reallllaaayyyyy?!" Keep our islanders in your prayers because...CASA AMOR IS BACK! 

CASA AMOR IS BACK...and we are not here for it honestly. This week gives both Christina and Brenna anxiety and I'm sure it gives you anxiety as well. They go over our new islanders and cross their fingers that our favorite boys will not stray from their leading ladies. History has shown that anything can happen at Casa Amor, so we better buckle up. 

Casa Amor is driving us NUTS! Like we predicated, it's separating the men from the boys and there is one boy in particular that I think we can all agree is SENDING US. This episode Christina and Brenna get into everything Casa related and also have an entire segment dedicated to their favorite topic, sports! (not really)

It's obviously not Sunday because there's no post on Sundays! The girls at the main villa received a post card and boy oh boy did that cause upset. The boys are moving mad and the producers are stirring the pot. With things shaking up we have no idea what's going to happen, but Christina and Brenna talk all about it. 

We have never felt more disappointed in our entire lives after watching this episode. Casa Amor is doing its thing, unfortunately, and our faith in some islanders has been crushed. This episode Christina and Brenna discuss all of the big moments concluding with their predications for the rest of the recoupling. Although they don't know how this recoupling will end, one thing they both can agree on is that Chloe deserves her own TV show. 

Well ladies and gentlemen, that was probably the most dramatic Casa Amor recoupling that we have ever witnessed in Love Island history. Christina and Brenna's hearts are broken and in the words of Tyra Banks, "We were rooting for you! We were all rooting for you!" While we are left feeling completely hopeless and wondering if some of our islanders can ever come back from the events that took place at Casa Amor, our OG King of the Villa Hugo has been dethroned by the one and only Teddy. 

People are going forward, people are going backwards. We've come to the decision that this season is CHAOTIC and as much as we love the drama, we're also here for the love and we would love to see more of that on our screens. In this episode Christina and Brenna talk about whether they are team Tyler or team Kaz, the Lillie and Millie debrief, and most importantly, that kiss that meant the world to them. And at the end of it all we'd like to announce...Toby, your lawyers will be hearing from us soon. 

So Toby did a full 360 and it looks like Toby and Chloe might be back on?! Ya know what, let their freak flags fly high because Christina and Brenna are here for it! In this episode we will see what's in the red flag corner for today and the continuation of the love triangle, or rather love square. While our contestants might be forgetting that they are on Love Island, we haven't forgotten for one second. 

It's Operation Win Chloe Back and we love to see it! If someone could get us in contact with Chloe's people, please let us know because we would love for her to be on the pod. In this episode Christina and Brenna talk about all the drama that's going on in the villa including Hugo, the VIP party, Liam's speech, and the recoupling that has left some islanders seething. 

NO WHEY! With another dumping on the horizon, Christina and Brenna get into it in this episode and talk all about Toby's pep talk in the mirror, the fact that wet condiments are disgusting, and how transparent Kaz is behaving. We're also seeing how pig headed and stubborn some of the islanders are and Christina and Brenna have come to the conclusion that Hugo is in it for the free holiday. 

Well folks, we saw the results of yet another dumping and honestly, it was probably the best results we could have asked for. In this episode Christina and Brenna talk about the quickest dumping we have ever seen on the show, Millie and Liam moving forward, and how the producers are being completely evil this season. Our favorite couple may be on the rocks and our hearts hurt, but we're still here to talk about it all with you. 

This episode in particular was extremely heavy and hard to watch. Generally speaking, this podcast is light hearted and both Christina and Brenna enjoy bantering one another and making jokes, but they both thought this episode dealt with a lot of issues that we cannot take lightly. We must always remember that the people on Love Island are human beings with real feelings and not characters and that a lot of what is shown has been edited for our entertainment. It's the day after hurricane Faye and things seem to have settled a little bit in the villa. In this episode Christina and Brenna discuss Liberty putting her feelings first and Millie and Liam rekindling their romance. Both Christina and Brenna have their own heroes of this episode and it might not be who you would expect. It's also the return of the Island Vibes Club, which I'm sure we all know by now, can only mean something bad is about to happen.

Well, we see the results of the Island Vibes Club votes and while we had to say goodbye to two of our islanders, we said hello to two new ones as well! Everyone please welcome Aaron and Priya! Listen along as Christina and Brenna dissect the dates our new islanders go on and hear all their thoughts on the continuation of the Feddy saga. 

Christina is jumping for joy after this episode and if you've been following along, I think you know why - Faye apologizes to Teddy and Feddy is back on! We also see a new romance blossoming between Aaron and Mary and honestly, we're here for it. This episode end with Christina and Brenna talking all about the Sex Gods challenge as well as ANOTHER new islander, Brett. 

Sooo....apparently new boy Brett is a model? Hmm, we're not too convinced, but what do you lot think at home?! As another love triangle begins to grow, it comes to an end rather quickly with a recoupling and one of our boys is sent home. Christina and Brenna get into it this episode and don't worry, they absolutely talk all about graduation and that lovely ceremony Priya gave to our girls! 

As we are nearing the end of this series, couples are coming together and some are hitting the rocks. We see Tyler reenact the famous scene from Love Actually for Kaz, Liberty begins questioning Jake's authenticity, and we end the episode with the fan favorite Hearts Racing Challenge! Christina and Brenna talk about it all as well as the one question they have had for years now: how many toilets are in the villa? Let us know if you know. 

This is the moment Brenna has been waiting for all season. As Jake confesses his feelings for Liberty, some of the other islanders begin questioning his true intentions. We may not know where their relationship is headed, but we are certain that another couple in particular are falling for one another. We're given a lot in this episode actually. There's so much sharing of perspectives and people respectfully hearing others opinions and don't worry because Christina and Brenna discuss it all. For the first ever time on the podcast we have a guest! Yay! We also start things off by taking another Love Island quiz in real time! Everyone is avoiding everyone in the villa right now, things are tense and the results of the votes are definitely going to cause some upset. As much as we love the drama, at this point it seems a bit unnecessary. Of course Christina and Brenna will still talk about it, though. This episode starts out on a low with the results of the islanders' votes, but then goes to a high with the talent show! This was one of the messiest talent shows to ever grace our screens and honestly, we  felt transported back to middle school with some of the performances. With another dumping on the horizon, we genuinely don't know who's going home...

We're getting down to the wire, so it's all just banter at this point, ladies and gents! And....on that note....THE BABIES ARE BACK! Christina and Brenna heavily discuss all things baby related - and maybe a little too much. While they may go off on tangents, one thing we can be certain of, Teddy is proving to be the perfect specimen once again. 

Our couples are being sent on their final dates and we love to see it! Who had the better date so far? Faye & Teddy or Kaz & Tyler? One thing we don't love to see though is Liberty crying. If you hurt our girl, you hurt us! While discussing this episode, we are given more dating advice from the ladies who may not be completely qualified to dish it out...maybe. Jake and Liberty may be on the rocks, but we'll leave you with one sentiment: anybody who makes you feel like you're not enough - get out of there. 

Yay! More dates! We watched Millie and Liam go on their final date and wow, was that romantic or what?! And they finally said those three words to one another! Swoon. While the majority of the final couples are becoming stronger, we see the fallout from Jake and Liberty and honestly, good for you, girl. This episode Christina and Brenna talk about it all and also the importance of putting yourself before a man who's not showing up for you. We only have two episodes left, so be sure to stick around to hear all the craic!

It's family day people and the return of Brenna's Astrology Corner in a BIG way! As we come to the close this season, Christina and Brenna give their thoughts on our islander's families and make their predictions for the final. They even throw the islanders their own little graduation ceremony at the end of the episode, so listen along to hear what they have to say!
