02 Oct 2023 | Ep 126: Questioning God, Finding Peace In Uncertainty and Pursuing Your Dreams with Lisa Whittle | 00:38:08
Have you found yourself asking God why certain things have happened? Are you walking through an unexpected situation? Do you wonder if you'll ever pursue your God-given dreams? Sometimes life throws us curve balls and we can end up in moments we don't foresee. It can be confusing but God can handle our frustration and difficult questions. In this podcast, Lisa Whittle joins me to talk about:
Moments of questioning God's plan
Dealing with unexpected problems
Resting in God's peace during moments of uncertainty
Not being limited by ourselves and other people's opinions
Lisa is a writer, speaker and Bible teacher who has been in ministry for nearly 20 years. She's experienced a lot in life, in church and in relationships. Throughout this podcast, Lisa tells me about how she's dealt with failure and overcome disappointment, and how she invited God into all of those moments. She talks about finding peace in the midst of uncertainty and the beauty that can be found in waiting seasons. Lisa also reminds us about the importance of pursuing our God-given dreams and not worrying about other people's opinions.
As you listen, I hope you feel empowered and you're reminded that if God is for you, no one can be against you. Be sure to tag us @biancaolthoff and @lisawhittle, we'd love to learn more about how this episode spoke to you!

01 Jul 2021 | Ep 30: Stop Being Ashamed of Your Body with Jess Connolly | 00:37:31
Happy summer, my podcast friends! This season is chock-full of amazing guests, solo episodes, and timely truths to keep us always going THERE.
Let’s start this season with a touchy topic: our bodies. With the northern hemisphere donning sun dresses, sleeveless tops, and skimpy bathing suits, this is the PERFECT time to talk about issues plaguing our society. And for the men listening to this podcast, don’t act like you are exempt. If research is true, roughly 75% of men wrestle with body shame or body dysmorphia. So listen up, friends: It's high time we start talking about what we don’t like to talk about.
Today on the show, I’m talking with Jess Connolly, writer, dreamer, barre instructor, and author of Breaking Free from Body Shame.
Friends, I believe that we’ve all struggled with everything from:
Body image
Overeating
Dieting
Emotional eating
Biblical view on eating
My hope isn’t that we walk away with a false sense of magically being free from body shame, but that we at the very least, celebrate the beauty created by a Master Artist.
If you want more information on Jess and how you can order her book: Breaking Free from Body Shame. You can do so now on amazon or check out the rest of her stuff at jessconnolly.com. I’m also giving away 3 copies of her book. Post on Facebook or Instagram and tag @jessaconnolly and @biancaolthoff to win.
It means a lot to my guests and I to hear your feedback online. So tag, post, share, and spread the love.
I’m so grateful for you and I can’t wait to see what this summer and this season of the podcast holds!

12 Nov 2020 | Ep 13: How To Step-Up In Step-Parenting With Parker Olthoff | 00:39:19
Hi friends! It’s our very last episode of season one of We’re Going There and I thought long and hard about HOW to end this season and what better way to talk about something that I NEVER publicly talk about: STEP-PARENTING.
Now before you think you don’t relate to the topic, let me beg to differ. Though you may not be a stepparent, 50% of those listening probably have a stepparent.
I have a very special guest joining me for this conversation. My favorite son and favorite footballer player, Parker Mason Olthoff. We will share several personal stories and we will hear:
The effects of divorce on all families
An honest perspective from a child of divorce
Statistics on the emotional effects of divorce on children
What healthy parenting can produce
For the struggling stepparents, keep going. You never know how God can use you.
For stepkids out there, go thank your stepparent for doing the best they could.
For the bio parents who married the saint that took on your kids, show them some love.
If this podcast was a gift to you, would you do a gift for me? Subscribe to this podcast, rate it, and share it with your friends. My hope is to continue to plant seeds of faith, hope, and love into ears around the world.
Thanks for joining for my first season. I’m so grateful for you!

23 Jan 2023 | Ep 104: The Reality of Incarceration, Redeeming Your Story and Resilient Faith with Fox and Rob Richardson | 00:33:28
Have you ever made a bad decision and regretted it? Are you wondering if there's a way to redeem your story? Do you want to use your experiences to advocate for change? Fox and Rob Richardson speak candidly and with grace about all of this in today's podcast. In this conversation, we talk about:
• How difficult circumstances can lead to bad decisions
• The realty for men and women who are incarcerated in the U.S.
• Having resilient faith in hard times
• The importance of prison ministry
Fox and Rob's story is one wrapped in grace and full of redemption. They speak openly about mistakes that they made which led to both ending up in prison. Fox talks about how her faith got her through her sentence and how she fought for her husband's release. Rob details the reality of long-term incarceration and talks about the importance of supporting people who are serving a prison sentence.
As you listen, I hope you remember that God's grace is sufficient and that in our weakness the Lord is made strong. Whether you're hoping to rebuild your life after incarceration or looking for ways to support people in prison, there's something for everyone in this podcast.
We all make mistakes, and we are not defined by our past. There's a God that loves you and wants to turn your test into a testimony. You can tag us @BiancaOlthoff and @foxandrob, we'd love to learn more about how this episode spoke to you.
Love you,

11 Jul 2022 | Ep 86: Accepting Where You Are, Breaking Generational Cycles and Embracing Faith with Zachary Levi | 00:36:51
Are you looking for ways to deal with your mental and emotional health? Have you ever considered going to therapy? Confronting inner struggles may sound overwhelming but it can change your life for the better.
In this episode, I'm talking with actor turned author, Zachary Levi about
Therapy and the positive impact it's had on his personal and professional life
Why it's important to deal with generational cycles
Breaking stigmas surrounding vulnerability

09 Aug 2021 | Ep 36: Understanding The Holy Spirit - Upgrade Begins With You | 00:29:11
Hi friends! Welcome to We're Going There! We are going on a seven-day journey through Scripture to discuss The Holy Spirit.
We are gonna dive into this topic of the Holy Spirit because I firmly believe that we're in the brink of God doing something really cool and unique on the earth. I know I said it before and I even used, yes friends, the Bible. This is not a word I want to throw around and use lightly but as a teacher, as a preacher, as a communicator of God's word.
For me personally, the study of the Holy Spirit and receiving to get to this Spirit has radically changed my life.
We will build upon the understanding and concepts around The Spirit of God. My hope is that instead of living basic boring, vanilla beige khakis, spiritual lives, we can live with a sense of upgrade of our faith.
If this podcast blessed you, tag me @BiancaOlthoff to share with your friends and family what you are listening to and growing from.
Love you!

06 Mar 2023 | Ep 112: Leading As A Woman, Feminine Sensitivity, and Next Gen Leadership with Bianca Olthoff, Makayla Martinez and Valerie Ortega | 00:33:53
Have you ever doubted your gifts and abilities because you are a woman? Has it ever been difficult to rise to a leadership position in your career, as an entrepreneur or as a woman in ministry?
Makayla and Valerie are young women with careers and businesses who also volunteer in ministry positions at The Father’s House OC. In this episode we touch on:
Struggles using your gifts
Navigating overwhelm when serving
Rising up to your potential calling
I thought that being sensitive was a weakness that I had to repress. That, my friend, is a lie from the pit of hell. I want to encourage women to continue to use their gifts wherever God has placed them for their good and the benefit of the Kingdom of God. I will continue to share my story to help women go places that I never could.
Don’t be ashamed of how God fashioned you. Maybe you are not in a leadership role, but whatever you are doing, do it with excellence. Embrace your God given femininity and step into whatever season you are in with strength and confidence. Let us know how you are owning your femininity by tagging @BiancaOlthoff @Makayylay and @Valortega Until next time, friends!
Love,

13 Nov 2023 | BONUS Ep 129: The Power of Giving, Believing in the Impossible, Faith For Women and Girls with Bianca Olthoff | 00:13:41
Is there a burning desire in your heart to help the less fortunate? Are you ready to sponsor women and girls around the world? I had the privilege of partnering with Convoy of Hope and being part of an event in Puerto Rico to do just that.
We were able to open up the Word of God together and speak to the potential of young girls as individuals. The girls had space and margin to write about their dreams. I too was reminded of my BIG dream:
• Empower young girls and women
• Give back to local communities and churches
• Resource the island to become a hub for the Caribbean
Even though we have not hit the goal yet, we will keep moving towards it. It is our job to believe and it is God’s job to execute it. You can still sponsor a girl for only $25 a year or the amount that God puts in your heart by visiting: convoyofhope.org/bianca
Remember, your dream might seem wildly impossible and you might be disappointed that you have not reached your goal, but know that our God is able and that He is the God of the impossible.
I am grateful for the generous donations of all of you who have already sponsored a girl. Share your stories of hope with us by tagging @BiancaOlthoff and @convoywomen

15 Jul 2024 | Ep 163: Resetting Your Life, Breaking Free From Busyness, and Embracing Sabbath Rest with John Mark Comer | 00:49:52
Do you ever feel like you're going through the motions in your spiritual life? Many of us crave a deeper connection with God, but where do we start? Today, I chat with John Mark Comer about the power of spiritual disciplines, the practices that can unlock real transformation in your faith.
We discuss the following key points:
Spiritual Formation: John Mark Comer defines spiritual formation as the process of becoming someone with a greater capacity to receive and give love in relationship with God and others.
Spiritual Disciplines: Discussed as "means of grace" that allow us to surrender to God's transformative work. They are practices, not performances, used to offer our bodies to God.
Fasting: Highlighted as a way to let go of control and identify the things that control us.
Sabbath: Examined as a challenge to our busy culture, teaching the importance of rest and stillness. Comer shares his personal experience with Sabbath and its transformative power in his life.
The Three Enemies of Peace: Identified by the desert fathers and mothers as the world, the flesh, and the devil. These enemies hinder our ability to experience true peace.
Following Jesus: Acknowledged as not an easy path, but the way to true joy and peace.
Sin and Happiness: The impact of sin on our capacity for happiness is discussed. Trusting in God's definition of goodness is highlighted as essential.
John Mark also shares his experience growing up in a church that emphasized the importance of Sabbath and how it has shaped his family's life.
Let us know how you are deepening your relationship with God by tagging us @biancaolthoff and @johnmarkcomer.

Working fasting into my regular life has been one of the most transformative things I've ever done.
Takeaways
Spiritual disciplines are means of grace that allow us to offer our bodies to God and surrender to His transformative work.
Fasting helps us let go of control and reveals the things that control us.
Sabbath challenges our culture of busyness and teaches us the importance of rest and stillness.
Both fasting and Sabbath are practices that can lead to spiritual transformation and a deeper relationship with God. Sabbath is a transformative practice that can bring emotional and relational healing and shape the rhythm of our lives.
The three enemies of peace identified by the desert fathers and mothers are the world, the flesh, and the devil.
Following Jesus is not easy, but it is the way to true joy and peace.
Sin sabotages our capacity for happiness by appealing to our God-given desire for happiness through deceptive ideas.
Trusting in God's definition of goodness and following His pathway to life leads to freedom and a deeper experience of love and joy

10 Apr 2023 | Ep 116: Birthdays, Not Being Defined By Your Pain and Jabez's Prayer Request with Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:27:41
Are you walking through a difficult season of life? Do you ever feel like people are focused on what's wrong, instead of what's right? Have you been asking God to bless you with something? We see all of this in Jabez's story, and I'll be diving deep into scripture for today's podcast.
In this episode, I talk about:
My birthday and reflecting on this last year
Jabez's story and the lessons we can learn from him
God answering prayers in the midst of our pain
Preparing for God's blessings
Nestled into two verses of scripture, in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, we meet a man by the name of Jabez. He was a man named after pain, but he wasn't defined by it. In this podcast, I want to tell you more about the prayer that Jabez prayed and what we can learn from it. The people around Jabez discounted him but God never did, in fact, we see that Jabez was a man of honor who prepared for what he prayed for.
As you listen, I hope you remember that God is for you and wants to see you win! When we pray, God hears us and goes before us. God is with you in the good and the bad. Jabez had a God-done-did-it testimony and I'm praying the same for you and for me in this next season. In the meantime, you can tag me @biancaolthoff, I'd love to learn about what God has done, is doing and will do for you!
Love you, B

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 NIV

My friend Stephanie May Wilson, a writer, speaker, and podcaster, and I talk about the unique challenges and pressures women face in their 20s and 30s, a time Stephanie calls the "everything era." This is a period marked by significant life decisions, societal expectations, and a whole lot of figuring it out.
Stephanie shares her own experiences navigating this tricky terrain and offers some valuable takeaways:
Embrace the Power of Choice: The 'everything era' is YOUR time to take the reins and create the life YOU want. It's about aligning your decisions with your values, even when those values don't always align with traditional expectations.
Transition to the "I Get to Create It Now Era": Life throws curveballs. Embrace those detours as opportunities for personal growth and course correction. Each challenge is a chance to refine your vision and build the life you love.
Don't Be Afraid of Disagreements: Navigating this phase can lead to conflicts with loved ones, especially when it comes to life choices. Use these disagreements as opportunities for open communication and mutual understanding.
Listen in as Stephanie shares her personal journey of embracing the "I get to create it now era" and how a move to Spain opened up a whole new chapter of her life.

Quote
The 'everything era' is a time of uncertainty and pressure to figure out life.
Takeaways
The 'everything era' refers to the period in a woman's life, typically in her 20s and 30s, when she is making significant life decisions and facing societal pressures.
It's important to define what success and happiness mean to you personally, rather than conforming to societal expectations.
The transition from the 'everything era' to the 'I get to create it now era' is a defining moment for personal growth and decision-making.
You have the power to decide how you want to live your life and make choices that align with your values and desires.
When life doesn't go as expected, you have options: you can quit, keep moving forward, change tactics, or ask for help.
Surround yourself with a supportive inner circle who can provide guidance and advice, but ultimately trust yourself to make the best decisions for your life.
Creating a life you love may involve making intentional decisions that fit for a season but may not be permanent.
Taking control of your own life and making decisions that align with your values and desires can lead to personal fulfillment and happiness.

14 Aug 2021 | Ep 41: Understanding The Holy Spirit - The Gifts For You | 00:31:08
Hi friends! Welcome to our final and last episode of our series on Understanding the Holy Spirit. If you have been here all week, I am so proud of you. Honestly, the stuff we're talking about is deep. There are so many Christians and so many people and so many churches that just won't even touch the topic.
And I really believe when we apply these principles to our lives, we can literally grow leaps and bounds. I want to talk about the gifts that we have access to through the Spirit of God. I want to keep it simple and discuss these three categories:
Motivational gifts
Ministry gifts
Manifestation gifts
I want you to operate in the gifts of the Spirit. ask God to reveal his gifts to you.
Friends, it has been my honor, my privilege, and my gift to be able to talk about a topic that a lot of people don't want to talk about. If this series has been a gift to you, share it with your friends and family and let me know when you post on social media by tagging me @BiancaOlthoff

11 Nov 2021 | Ep 53: Social Media - Making Us Better or Messing Us Up? with Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:27:18
Family, we are GOING THERE today! Please know that this episode is a labor of love and a passion project. I am not against social media. I love social media! I love the power of people being so connected. There is good coming out of social media.
But I want to ask you some personal questions:
· Do you feel better or worse about your life after your scroll on social media?
· Do you feel better or worse about your body after you scroll on social media?
· Do you feel emotionally full or spiritually empty?
THAT is what I want to discuss social media today! Let’s just pause and evaluate. How IS social media impacting us? The answer is determined by you. Social media can tear you down or lift you up.
No matter how much time you are spending on social media everyday, make sure you leave making the apps better than we found them. But its going to begin when we evaluate HOW we interact, HOW we feel afterwards we’re on them, HOW much time we spend on them, and WHAT are we doing to create the experience we want online.
Friends, I LOVE being able to have real and relevant conversations with those who are part of this community. It would mean the world to me if you subscribed to the show and shared this episode with your friends.
I’ll see you online.
Love you, friends.

17 Jan 2024 | Ep 135: Dismantling Diet Culture - Day 3 The Weighting Game Series with Leslie Schilling and Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:28:45
Are you aware of diet culture infiltrating safe spaces like school or church? Everyone is on a journey of their own. I want to make sure that as we talk about the impact of diet culture in the church, that we do it from a place of love, kindness, grace, health, and healing.
I believe that we can have meaningful conversations around the topic of weight by:
Being receptive to the needs of others
Extending grace and not shaming or judging others
Considering everyone’s individual circumstances
Friends, as you continue to walk with God, remember that He is compassionate and gracious. Ask Him to guide you as you grow in relationship with Him and learn to separate yourself from diet culture. Food is a gift from God!
Tag me @biancaolthoff and @leslieschilling and let us know how this conversation has transformed your mindset around food.

Is it really biblical to be chasing a number on the scale?
Takeaways
Diet culture has infiltrated the church and made it an unsafe place for discussions about body image and health.
The 'body as a temple' verse has been misused to shame and judge others based on their appearance.
Fasting can be practiced in a healthy and holy way, but it is important to consider individual circumstances and avoid harmful behaviors.
Alternative fasting options, such as abstaining from social media or comparison, can be just as meaningful and impactful.
Self-discipline should be redefined as honoring hunger and taking care of our bodies, rather than pursuing a specific body size.
Toxic detoxes should be avoided, and emotional eating should be addressed with the help of therapy or other forms of support.

Are you ready to detox from toxic detoxes? Embracing food freedom begins by getting rid of practices that can be toxic to our bodies.
Our bodies are wise and intricate miracles. In order for us to function optimally, we need to be aware of diet culture by:
Listening to our bodies
Rebuilding a healthy relationship with food
Owning our worth and having guilt-free progress
Friend, you know yourself better than anyone else! Self-care is possible when you get in touch with your body outside of diet culture and trust it. Paying attention to your surroundings and the messages that you are listening to is key to taking your next steps toward food freedom.
Let us know how you are owning your worth beyond a number on a scale by tagging us @biancaolthoff and @leslieschilling. Don’t miss tomorrow’s episode. It is the last day, Day 5 of The Weighting Game series!

Trust in a very wise body.
Takeaways
Detoxing from toxic practices and diet culture is essential for embracing food freedom.
Trusting our bodies' natural processes and listening to our internal cues is key to recalibrating our sense of health.
Intuitive eating is a self-care framework that helps us make peace with food and make choices that align with our values.
We owe no one a number on the scale and have the right to refuse unnecessary weight checks.
Detoxing toxic practices involves renouncing diet culture and embracing our worth beyond societal body standards.

Friends, have you ever found yourself thinking "I guess I haven't learned that yet"? We can make plans and set goals but sometimes life happens, and we find ourselves in a situation we didn't see coming.

21 Mar 2022 | Ep 75: One Million Downloads Celebration with Jasmine Star and Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:28:52
My Friends! We’re Going There Podcast has hit 1 MILLION downloads and we are here to celebrate!🎉
I took a pause from my day and hopped on a quick call with my twin sister Jasmine Star to process and savor this moment. You know why? Because I wanted to create an Ebenezer moment. A moment that I can look back to and remember how good God has been in my life.
But friends, this moment would not have been possible without YOU! I’m so grateful to all of the faithful listeners and for the not-so-faithful listeners too. Because everyone that’s clicked to listen to any of the episodes on any of the platforms has been a part of this milestone. THANK YOU!!!
I had a BIG dream, but I got here by starting small. I took the small step of looking up what the beginner podcasting equipment was, and bought it. That step created a ripple effect as I continued to take step after step to launch this podcast. And today, I’m celebrating 1 Million downloads. Yay!
If you have listened to 1 of the one million downloaded episodes, share with me what your #1 step is going to be as you pursue your dream. Post on your Stories what your #1 step is and tag me @BiancaOlthoff on it. Like my sister Jasmine said: You need to be ok with having the courage to put yourself out there and be publicly accountable and you need to be ok with being mediocre. You also need to be ok with God blessing what you’re doing to get to step #2.
I’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines!
Love you friends!

20 Jan 2022 | Ep 62: The Art Of Making Art with Jeremy Camp | 00:37:26
Hey Family! Let’s talk about creativity! Whether you want to write a book, paint a mural, launch a business or even create a math algorithm, that is all centered around the creative process. On today’s episode, I’m talking with award-winning singer and songwriter, Jeremy Camp.
I learned about four main stages to developing an idea. They are: preparation, incubation, illumination and lastly, verification. While things may not always work out in this exact linear order, you can use this as a roadmap for your creative journey. It offers a direction if not a destination. The most important thing to remember is that everyone’s creative process looks slightly different. Mine looks more like a zig-zag or a spiral than a straight line. Throughout our conversation, you’ll hear about Jeremy’s creative process and how he tends to break a lot of the creative rules.
I would love to hear about your art and creativity. Will you do me a favor? Send me a visual clue that you are participating in this creative process. Take a picture of your art, song lyrics, poem or business plan and tag us @BiancaOlthoff and @JeremyCampOfficial.
And, if you love the creativity that comes through the art of podcasting, don’t forget to leave a positive review for this show so that we can reach more ears around the world.
Love you,

30 Jan 2023 | Ep 105: Building a Blended Family, Leading with Love and The Delicate Dance of Step-Parenting with Peter & Heather Stow and Bianca Olthoff | 00:38:09
Are you part of a blended family? Do you know someone who is navigating step-parenting? Have you wondered how non-traditional families make it work? Well, it's something I know all too well and I'm sharing my own experiences in today's podcast.
In this episode, I talk about:
Navigating step-parenting
The importance of learning from other families
Establishing boundaries and roles at home
The realities of being part of a blended family
I was recently invited to the No Greater Joy Podcast hosted by my friends Peter and Heather Stow to discuss my experience with step-parenting. I'm grateful for the space they created for me to share my story and to increase the visibility of blended families in the church. Throughout the conversation, you'll learn more about how I adjusted to life as a S’Mom (aka Step-Mom). I talk about the lessons I learned and also the emotional impact of step-parenting.
As you listen, I hope you gain a new perspective on blended families and how they are part of God's plan. When I married Matt, I also gained Parker and Ryen and they've been a beautiful addition to my life. It hasn't always been easy, but the Olthoff household is one full of love and God's grace.
I went from being single to becoming a step-parent REAL quick and it changed my life forever. So, whether you're a step-parent or looking for ways to support a friend or family member who is part of a blended family, I hope this podcast encourages you. You can tag us @biancaolthoff, @peterstow and @heatherstow, we'd love to learn more about how this episode spoke to you.

15 Aug 2022 | BONUS Ep 89: What Were You Thinking with Bianca Olthoff | 00:42:20
Have you ever had a moment where instead of believing the best, you assume the worst? In today’s episode I share another bonus teaching on why every thought that comes to your mind matters.
We can train our minds with the wrong things, or we can train our minds with the Truth. What goes into our minds will come out in our life. To change your mind and change your life, you need to rewrite and retrain your brain with the Truth of the Word of God. Meditate on the Word by:
1. Seeking out the Truth of God
2. Writing out the Truth of God
3. Declaring the Truth of God
4. Believing the Truth of God
Be transformed by renewing your mind with the power of the Truth of God's Word. I hope this bonus episode has helped you in some way. You can tag me @biancaolthoff and let me know truth of the Word of God is helping you to demolish strongholds.

12 Aug 2021 | Ep 39: Understanding The Holy Spirit - Step Into The Deep | 00:23:08
Welcome back, friends! I'm so excited about this week and you know what, I know this podcast is not gonna be for everyone. If you are tuning in and listening to this, it's because you want to understand the power that you possess as a person and as a child of God. I believe that by us having these conversations and dialoguing, our lives can change. When we take next steps, even in our faith journey, we can go to depths that we never knew possible and we can experience things in our life that we might have felt impossible.
Today I am discussing the three different baptisms that we see in the Bible. They are:
Baptism of Salvation
Baptism of Water
Spiritual Baptism
We are here on earth to change the world, to go to the ends of the world, or the end of our street, and tell people about Jesus. And if necessary, use words. I want us to step into position to be prepared to receive the gift that God has for us. How? By taking these three steps:
Remove all barriers
Request the Holy Spirit
Receive Him by faith
We are continuing on and I'm encouraging, you DON'T QUIT. You've come too far to quit. And if some of you are already getting baptized, take a picture of your baptism, post it on social media and tag me @BiancaOlthoff so that I can praise with you!
If you haven't yet subscribed to the podcast, as always, you are invited to do so and if you like the podcast, leave a positive review.
Love you all!

Kobe’s Quotes
Emotions are like the check engine light of the soul.
We live in the stories we tell ourselves.
You have to care about your mental and emotional health before you are in crisis.
There's a difference between feeling a strong emotion that is uncomfortable and being triggered.
Anger is an emotion that tells us that something sacred has been violated and that something needs to be protected.
An overlooked means of wounding someone is with words.
The words that people speak over us create the perception that we have of ourselves, and we live out of that perception.

10 Oct 2022 | Ep 95: Embracing Change, Tapping Into Your Creativity and Making The Most of Your Single Season with DOE | 00:39:25
Do you feel stuck through obligation and not obedience? Are you looking for ways to be more creative? Does it sometimes feel like no one understands your perspective? DOE is a singer-songwriter with a pastor's heart and her unique voice is what makes her unforgettable. In this conversation, we talk about:
• Growing up in ministry and pursuing God's calling
• Obligation vs obedience
• Trusting God's character and the desires He placed in your heart
• Creativity in all its forms
• Making the most of your time while being single
DOE is known for her unique voice and beautiful melodies, but she's also accomplished outside of her career in music. She's got three degrees, worked as a youth pastor and even has an Uber license! DOE speaks about a season of transition and stepping out as a solo artist. After spending much of her life in ministry with her family, she wanted to explore new things.
What I love about DOE's story is that she embraced her individuality and knew that her differences were the very things God could use for His glory. I hope that as you listen, you'll reflect on the things you really want to do and then have the courage to boldly pursue them. Because where God guides, He provides! You can tag us @biancaolthoff and @doejonesmusic, we'd love to learn about your God dream and the things that make you... YOU!
Love you,

08 Jul 2021 | Ep 31: Advice from The Love Doctor with Dr. Christie Kederian | 00:49:59
Hi friends! You know I love talking about healthy relationships. Don’t tune out just because you’re married. WHY? Because we ALL have friends who are single and ready to mingle. I’m going to safely wager they would LOVE it if you empathize and had knowledge around the struggles of dating and maybe even provide some tips on how to date and mate well.
For those who are single, let’s go there and talk about online dating! Thanks to social distancing and a global pandemic, online dating has really been neutralized and naturalized over the last year. But now we are in the murky waters of meeting people digitally.
On today’s episode, we get to chat with Dr. Christie Kederian. She is a nationally-renowned psychologist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, specializing in the psychology of relationships.
You will hear more about:
Do opposites attract?
Is online dating important?
What to be aware of while dating online
Dating profile do’s and don'ts
I’m so grateful for Dr. Christie’s time and if you want to show her some love, I know it would mean a lot to her. You can share this episode with your friends and tag @BiancaOlthoff and @TheDateDoctorChristie to show some love.

23 Nov 2021 | Ep 55: Contentment and Gratitude: I Want What I Have with Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:26:10
Friends, I love Thanksgiving! It's my favorite holiday. So today you have a chance to embrace gratitude and it is a way to get through this season with true JOY.
But let's get real, who is responsible for your gratitude? It’s not your boss, your spouse, your kids, your pastor, or your friend. YOU are responsible for your gratitude. I’ve learned one definition of thankfulness that I love. It is: WANTING WHAT I HAVE. Thankful people want what they have. Let’s be content with what we have. Contentment is saying “I don't need it because I don't have it.” I have a loving Father who gets me every good thing that I need.
I want you to join me and make this commitment this week and you can carry it through ‘till Christmas and onto the New Year:
Every day make a list of at least six things for what you're grateful for
Then two times during the day you share it with someone that you are thankful for
I’m grateful for you, friends. You’ve made my list today and I’m sharing it with you. My hope and my prayer as we go into this holiday season is that you are content with what God has given you.
Share this episode on social media and tag me @BiancaOlthoff. I can't wait to chat next week!
Love you friends!

10 Sep 2020 | Ep 01: All the Things you Wish you Knew with Christine Caine | 00:49:54
Hi Friends! This is my very first podcast episode and I’m so honored you are tuning in. This whole season is packed with amazing people who aren’t just names, but actual friends or people I look up to.
Okay y’all, this could be risky to start the show with the topic we are going to discuss, but I’m a risky kinda girl. Here’s the thing: I can’t have a show about wanting to be real and honest and not talk about one of my hardest struggles. And who better than to shoot it straight than Christine Caine?!
If you don’t know Christine, she’s a petite Greek Aussie with blonde hair and a biblical bite. She may be small, but she is mighty. In addition to freeing slaves as the founder of A21, empowering women as the founder of Propel Women, and preaching the gospel around the world, she was also my boss. I worked at A21—a global anti-trafficking organization—for almost 7 years. The work was gloriously exhausting and devastatingly beautiful. But one conversation sticks out to me as one of the most profound of my life. THAT is what I’m going to talk about in this episode!
Christine is a best-selling author, profound communicator and loyal mom and wife, but her greatest strength is she has died a thousands deaths and has allowed the Spirit of God to lead to the most interesting parts of the world. My hope is that she teaches us today how to do the same.
Share this podcast with your friends and tag @ChristineCaine and @BiancaOlthoff because sharing is caring!
I would LOVE it if you subscribed and wrote a review! As a token of my appreciation, I’d love to give you a 6-session video Bible study and guide for FREE! All you have to do is write a review, take a snapshot of the review and email it to podcast@inthenameoflove.org and you’ll be sent your FREE gift.
We can’t wait to connect with you next week as we welcome Bob Goff!

15 Feb 2024 | Ep 144: How To Say Goodbye // Draw The Line Series with Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:38:57
Are there things in your life today that don’t align with your vision of tomorrow? What do you need to leave behind as you move forward into the future that God has for you?
It’s hard to let go of things. Trust me, I know. It is important to realize that in order for us to experience personal growth and find spiritual success, we need to have necessary endings in our lives.
Boundaries are necessary, and so are endings. That’s why today we will explore:
The need to manage expectations and investments in our relationships
The concept of pruning and setting boundaries
The emotional epidemic of entitlement
The dangers of enabling others
If there is a relationship or a situation that is holding you back from reaching your best self, it’s time to let it go. Trust God and His plan for your life.
If this series has made an impact in your life, share it with me by tagging me @biancaolthoff
I Love you, friend,

19 Sep 2022 | Ep 92: The American Dream, Representing Mexican Food in Culture and The Beauty of a Family Business with Bricia Lopez | 00:40:14
What does the American Dream look like? How does a family build a legacy? Is there a way to fulfill the desires God put in your heart? Bricia Lopez can speak to all of this as a chef, author and entrepreneur who is bringing a taste of Mexico to mainstream food culture. In this episode, I'm chatting with Bricia about:
· Her family and their American Dream
· Growing up in Mexico and immigrating to the U.S.
· Helping to establish a family business and building a legacy
· Bringing Mexican culture into the U.S. and attaining mainstream accolade
As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on the podcast, I'm exploring the concept and realities of the American Dream with Bricia. During our conversation, Bricia shares the story of her family and how they established a successful Oaxacan restaurant in Los Angeles. She speaks openly about the challenges they faced along the way as well as the huge success they've attained for their authenticity. Something that's special about Bricia's perspective is that she continues to build her family's legacy alongside her siblings. My heart and my hope is that as you listen, you'll learn about a new culture and that you'd give yourself permission to dream. Ideating is a free gift given to us and if God's put a desire in your heart, chances are you're the person to see it through to completion. Below you'll find one of Bricia's favorite recipes, so I'd love for you to recreate it and discover a tasty new Mexican dish. You can tag us @biancaolthoff and @bricialopez, we'd love to see what food and dreams you cook up after this episode.
Love you,

Oaxaca: Home Cooking from the Heart of Mexico
Salsa Borracha Recipe
Ingredients
· 1 pound tomatillos, husked and rinsed
· 6 morita chiles (you may substitute with ¼ ounce chipotle chiles), destemmed
· 2 cloves garlic, peeled
· 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
· 2 tablespoons mezcal
· 2 bay leaves
· Sea salt
Instructions
· Preheat your oven’s broiler to its highest setting
· Place the tomatillos on a baking sheet with a rim, on your broiler’s highest rack, and broil for 20 minutes, mixing them around at the 10-minute mark to make sure all of the tomatillos are cooking evenly. The tomatillos should be lightly charred and change color to a light yellow. Set aside.
· Meanwhile, in a comal or cast-iron skillet over medium heat, toast the dried chiles and garlic until slightly charred and fragrant. This should take about 30 seconds for the chiles and about 5 minutes for the garlic.
· Bring about a cup of water to a boil. Pour the boiling water into a bowl, add the toasted chiles, let them sit for about 20 minutes or until they are soft and tender. Drain and set aside.
· In a blender, combine the reserved tomatillos, chiles, and garlic with the apple cider vinegar, mezcal, 2 tablespoons of water, and the bay leaves. Blend until smooth. Taste for salt and serve.
· This salsa will stay fresh in the refrigerator for a week.

02 Jan 2023 | BONUS Ep 101: Reflections, Casting Vision, and A Strong New Beginning for the New Year | 00:24:47
Are you having a rocky start to your year? Does it seem like you are starting out on a crazy train? How about we start this season with a positive attitude? Having a word to reflect on throughout the year has always been pivotal in my life and I hope it is helpful to you as well. We all have good intentions when we set resolutions. But let's be honest friends, even though we started out strong, less than half of us made it to the 6-month mark.
Focusing on ONE word during the entire year can be very powerful. Not only will you be able to stay focused, but you will also have direction on who you want to be and what you want to step into. Pause, think, and create a list to hone into your word. And remember, don't just be interested in it, be committed to it.
Set some time by yourself, with a friend, or your date to go through these steps. I can't wait for you to tag me at @BiancaOlthoff and share what your word for this year is.
Love you friends!

18 Mar 2021 | Ep 19: Too Blessed To Be Badly Dressed with Zoe Juarez | 00:28:53
Friend, do you know what time it is? It’s time to talk about FASHION. Fashion is equal parts intrigue and mystery for me. It’s like beef tartare. I know I should like it and all of its fanciness, but at my core I’m afraid to look it at and even more afraid to try being daring and make a fool of myself in the process.
Maybe you are a fabulous or maybe you feel fabuLESS. Today we are talking about what to FEEL in what we wear and how to find our own self confidence no matter what shape you are.
God cares about the minutia of our lives and the desires of our hearts. Another person who cares is clothing stylist, Zoe Juarez. She has styled for companies like Nordstrom’s, Macy’s, and styled photoshoots for magazines, models, and multi-purpose consultations.
Zoe has a unique style for her clothes, but she always has a heart to make people feel fabulous. She has graciously offered a FREE 1-hour Consultation for one lucky listener to walk through your wardrobe and help you style outfits or to help you create a personalized Pinterest board for inspiration. All you have to do is tag @zBelleJ and @biancaolthoff to win a FREE personalized styling consultation.
Thank you for listening and I hope you subscribe and rate this show so we end up in the ears of people far and wide.

Persian Spinach and Eggs (Nargesi)
Ingredients:
1 red onion, finely chopped
1 pound of baby spinach (or regular spinach), washed and drained
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 to 2 large eggs per person
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Sauté the chopped onion until it turns light and translucent.
Add the spinach to the pan and cook until wilted (about 10 minutes). You might need to add the spinach in two batches.
Cook until excess water evaporates.
Season with turmeric, salt, and pepper.
Create small wells in the spinach using a spoon and crack the eggs into these wells.
Cover the pan and cook for a few minutes until the eggs reach your desired doneness.
Serve the Persian Spinach and Eggs on its own or with some bread (such as lavash, barbari, Turkish pide, or pita bread).

13 Feb 2024 | Ep 142: How To Have Friendship Boundaries // Draw The Line Series with Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:31:36
Have you turned your boundary line into a boundary wall? If you find yourself lonely because of unrealistic boundaries, today you can take a sledge hammer and Bring.The.Wall.Down.
I want us to have a real talk and address the issues of isolation and loneliness that many people experience. I want to emphasize:
The importance of community and relationships
The need for boundaries in friendships
The challenges that come with maintaining healthy relationships
The different levels of friendships
Friendship is not codependency
In some cases we can find ourselves looking at our friends and thinking; “what the heck?” That’s because we don’t have a clear definition of what “friend" means and we’ve given access to the wrong people into our friendship circles. I want you to walk away knowing what friendship IS and IS NOT.
Remember that true friendship and fulfillment can be found in Jesus.
Tag me @biancaolthoff and let me know what healthy lines you’ve drawn in your life.
Love you,

26 Sep 2022 | Ep 93: Alcohol Addiction In The Church, Overcoming Shame and Hope Found In Recovery with Irene Rollins | 00:39:30
Why don't we talk about alcoholism in the church? Is there a way to overcome the shame we feel from addiction? Is there really a chance for wholeness and recovery? Irene Rollins is a pastor-turned-author who is shedding light on these topics and breaking the stigma around the church and its relationship with addiction issues. In this episode, I'm chatting with Irene about:
• Dealing with alcoholism in the church
• Identifying addiction issues and active recovery
• Having a safe community to heal with
• Supporting people impacted by addiction
Irene is in recovery from an alcohol addiction and has been sober for a number of years. She talks openly about how unresolved trauma, insecurity and a hard season of life led to a dependence on alcohol. During our conversation, Irene shares her story and how her issues with alcohol impacted her personal and professional life.
This conversation is shared with the intention of creating a dialogue around how the church deals with addiction issues. As you listen, I hope you'll see that help is available to those who need it and that recovery is possible with the right resources and support. So, whether you're looking for healing or trying to better understand how you can support someone through addiction, this episode is for you. You can tag us @biancaolthoff and @irenerollins, we'd love to find out how this podcast spoke to you.
Love you,

06 Feb 2023 | Ep 106: Godly Glam, Self-Care, and The Clean Girl Aesthetic with Bianca Olthoff | 00:30:26
Are you embracing the clean girl aesthetic? Is there an outfit that makes you feel your most confident? Do you have a self-care regiment? I'll be unpacking all of this today and explaining why taking care of yourself should be a priority. In this episode, I talk about:
· The basics of self-care
· Maintaining a personal standard
· How taking care of yourself is biblical
· Explaining vanity vs maintenance and knowing the difference
The church doesn't always like to have conversations about beauty and personal care because it can come across as pursuing vanity. Well, I'm flipping that narrative in this podcast, I want to let you know that having basic self-care standards is not bad but actually biblical. Being presentable, smelling good, and showing up for yourself shows others that you want to be taken seriously and treated with respect.
As you listen, I hope you meet yourself with compassion and remember that it's okay to take care of yourself emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. If you love a full-face of make-up and hair extensions, this podcast is for you. If you love the TikTok clean girl aesthetic, this podcast is for you. If you prefer no make-up and yoga pants, this podcast is for you.
I love a colorful co-ord and believe that the longer the lash, the better! I hope this podcast encourages you to embrace your individuality with style and grace, in every place. You can tag me @biancaolthoff, I'd love to learn more about your personal style.
Love you,

22 Jan 2024 | Ep 138: Dealing With Church Hurt, Offense Journal, And Ramming The Gate with Larry Brey Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:38:31
Have you ever experienced church hurt? Is there an offense that has been causing you bitterness? If this is your case, I want you to know that I’m so sorry for the hurt that you have experienced.
My friend, Pastor Larry Brey, from Elevation Church, and I sat down to discuss the topic of church hurt and how to overcome it. Our goal is to parse out the realities of:
Dealing with and overcoming Church hurt
Recognizing offenses and processing them early
Practicing gratitude and focusing on personal growth
Church hurt is real. It could stem from a misunderstanding or something else. Please remember, the church didn’t hurt you, a person did. That’s why it is important to speak up and share your hurt. It is also equally important to listen and understand what others are saying and feeling.
Gratitude and offense journals are two practical ways to help you process this hurt. Tag me @BiancaOlthoff and @lbrey and let us know how this practice is making a difference in your life.
Love you,

15 Feb 2023 | Ep 109: Dating Bootcamp Day 3 - Ready YoSelf | 00:36:20
Do you struggle with how to plan a date? Do you know what to do, where to go or who’s going to pay? Today, we round up this Dating Bootcamp series by giving you practical handles that will help you be more prepared before you go out on a date.
The goal of this series has always been for my single friends to go out on a date. Initiating a hangout with someone you are interested in is a good place to start. Remember these things before you go out:
Set healthy boundaries in advance
The person who asks is the person who pays
Come prepared to have a conversation
Give hints not heaps?
Listen to the other person
Be mindful of the type of food you order
Have no form of physical intimacy
So, if you do the work, put your best foot forward, and take yourself seriously you can find a potential candidate and eventually end up in a real dating relationship. Who knows, you might end up finding your life partner in the process!
My hope is that this dating bootcamp helps you in some way. Tag @biancaolthoff and @meaganherself and let us know how your 30 day dating challenge is going.

09 Dec 2021 | Ep 57: Word Of The Year with Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:21:16
Friends, when I think about the end of the year, I want to ensure that we’re setting ourselves up for a strong year to come. One of the practices I've developed in my life is finding a word or phrase for the year.
Today I want to walk you through my process on how I find a word for the following year. There's nothing mystical or magical about this process, it's a guide to help you through not just daily or weekly activities, but to set an intention for the year. This one word will help center you when life gets crazy or you feel you’ve lost your way or your convictions.
Three steps to follow are:
Pause
Think
Create a List
If you don't have a word for the year yet, I really encourage you to make time and really go through the process. When you get your word, I’d love to know what it is! You can tag me @BiancaOlthoff on your posts or you can share this podcast with your friends and family and do this activity together.
As always, I’m honored to create content that I believe will shape and shift your life. If this show is something you like, will you consider rating and reviewing it so it can get into more ears around the 🌏? It would mean the world to me.
Love you, friends!

14 Feb 2024 | Ep 143: How To Have Sexual Boundaries // Draw The Line Series with Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:45:27
Do you find it hard to make sense of the different views on sex in culture? Is it time for you to reevaluate your view of sex? Join me on today’s episode to have an open and honest conversation on… sex.
Society keeps sending mixed signals on what sex is all about. I want us to discuss the topic of sexual boundaries but from a Biblical perspective. It's high time we redeem the narrative that the enemy has stolen from us! That is why we will explore:
God's original, good, and divine design for sex
Biblical view of sex vs. Cultural view
Freedom from sexual shame
We all need practical handles on sexual boundaries in marriage and for singles. Because of that, I’m highlighting the importance of respect, communication, accountability, and non-sexual intimacy.
Sex was God's idea! He intended it for our good. Don’t let the enemy steal that from you. I want you to know that whatever has happened in your life, you can find forgiveness through Jesus and develop a personal intimate relationship with Him.

Quote
I don't want social media. I don't want pop culture. I don't want the ivory tower of academia to define what sex is. No. Sex was God's idea.
Takeaways
Sexual boundaries are for our benefit and not a burden.
Open and honest conversations about sex are necessary in order to break free from shame and cultural narratives.
In marriage, it is important to have regular communication about sexual expectations and desires.
For singles, setting personal boundaries and seeking accountability are key to maintaining purity.
Sex does not guarantee intimacy, and true intimacy is built on emotional and verbal communion.

14 Nov 2022 | Ep 100: Setting Clear Boundaries, Communicating Our Needs To Others and A Million Little Funerals with Lysa TerKeurst | 00:44:29
Do you find it hard to establish boundaries? Are you sensitive about and do you struggle to have difficult conversations? Is there a part of your life that you're currently grieving?
Lysa TerKeurst is an author and speaker who is tackling all these topics in her newest book. In this conversation, we cover:
Defining boundaries and why we need them
How boundaries can improve your relationships
Tackling tough conversations and how it can provide clarity
Grieving the relationships and seasons of life that come to an end
Lysa's voice is one I trust and respect, especially when it comes to discussing spiritual and emotional well-being. She shares personal experiences and walks us through her process of re-establishing boundaries. Lysa gives insight into how boundaries are a biblical principle and how honoring our boundaries helps us honor others too. We also talk about acknowledging what didn't work out and grieving those things with little funerals. (Liiisten, this sounds weird but it's a game-changer!)
If like me, you have a big heart and lots of feelings, I hope this episode helps you as much as it helped me. Whether you're navigating boundaries in your professional or personal life, there's something for everyone in this episode. Sometimes things don't turn out how we planned, and it's okay to grieve what you lost.
Establishing boundaries as you heal can improve your relationships and help you to see all the good that's yet to come. You can tag us @BiancaOlthoff and @LysaTerKeurst, we'd love to learn more about how this episode spoke to you.
Love you,

We don't want to be like God in terms of His holiness, we want to be like God in terms of His authority.
Takeaways
Holiness is a decision of our will and is based on our conduct, comportment, and character.
The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in sanctification by changing our hearts, giving us power over sin, and illuminating the Scriptures.
Understanding God's holiness is essential in building trust in Him.
The book on holiness by Jackie Hill Perry is recommended for all Christians, especially those who struggle with trusting God.

12 Aug 2024 | Ep 167: The Cost of Control, Finding Freedom, and Building Stronger Relationships with Sharon Hodde Miller | 00:27:32
Are you gripping the reins too tightly? Have you ever felt the need to control every aspect of your life, only to realize that control is just an illusion?
Today I speak to Sharon Hodde Miller, Pastor, Speaker, Author, and PhD about the often-unacknowledged desire for control. Together, we explore the seductive nature of control, how it often creates illusions of security, and the hidden costs of clinging to it.
Some takeaways from our conversation are:
Control is an Illusion: We might think we have more control than we actually do, but true control is often fleeting. Exploring the limitations of our influence can be a liberating step.
Surrender & Agency: Letting go of control doesn't mean giving up agency. It’s about finding the sweet spot between healthy boundaries and trust, recognizing that relinquishing control can lead to greater peace and flexibility.
Cost of Control: Clinging to control can manifest in anxiety, stress, and unhealthy relationships. Sharon highlights the benefits of surrendering control and embracing the power of trust in fostering healthy connections.
We also discuss the theological and cultural roots of our obsession with control. Sharon offers practical advice for exercising agency instead of constant control. She also challenges us to embrace the benefits of surrendering control in our personal lives and relationships.
Let us know how you are letting go of control by tagging us at @sharonhmiller and me @biancaolthoff.

Book: The Cost of Control: Why We Crave It, the Anxiety It Gives Us, and the Real Power God Promises
Quote
The most free we ever were was not in the absence of boundaries, but because of them.
Takeaways
Control promises security and peace, but it ultimately betrays us, causing anxiety, complexity, and division.
The desire for control has theological roots in the story of Adam and Eve and cultural roots in a society that constantly promises control.
Letting go of control is important because it costs us more than it gains us.
Instead of control, God gives us agency and influence to exercise within the boundaries He has set.
Restoring boundaries, such as limiting phone usage, can help us exercise agency and let go of control.
Surrendering control can strengthen relationships and build trust.

Are you in a season of discovering God’s plan for your life? Have you heard the term ‘living by my truth’ in mainstream media or on social media? Is the church struggling to clearly define God’s will?
Jada Edwards is a straight-shooting, truth-telling, speaker, Bible teacher and author. She can speak to defining truth from a personal and biblical standpoint. In this conversation, we talk about:
Defining truth in culture and on social media
The danger of using the phrase ‘living my truth’
How to define truth as a Christian and understanding God’s will
The importance of being led by the Holy Spirit
Jada’s leadership and ministry have been a blessing to me and The Father’s House OC. She has her ear to the ground and communicates in an honest, direct and loving manner. Jada shares her thoughts on truth in culture and in the church. Throughout this podcast, Jada provides context and shares personal experiences in defining truth.
As you listen, I hope you’ll begin to see what God’s truth is for your life. Jada is a friend and I trust that her thought leadership will encourage you to lean into what God wants for you. 23 Dec 2021 | Ep 59: BONUS What To Do When Your Plans Change with Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:15:13
Hi friends! As we reach the end of 2021, many of us have had to face something that we didn’t plan for. Things have gone a little bit different than you might have thought, and you've had, what I call, a change of plans.
Facing things that we didn't plan for can be jarring and can even rattle our faith. Sometimes we wonder why things aren’t going as planned and even wonder where God is.
When we don’t know what is going on, we must hold on to what we know to be true: Though your plan may have changed, your purpose hasn’t. God has a purpose for you. The reason Jesus came to earth was for you. I want you to plant this truth in your heart.
Let me know how your plans have changed and where you see God show up in this season. You can tag me @BiancaOlthoff on your posts and also share this podcast with your friends and family. If this show is something you like, leave a rating and review so it can get into more ears around the world.

02 Dec 2021 | Ep 56: Strength, Grace and Courage with Madison Prewett | 00:42:40
Hello friends! Today’s conversation is around pop culture. Why do many Christians want to shy away from this topic? I want to jump in and have a conversation about it. Why? Well call me crazy, but I believe that everything including culture is covered by God's control and love otherwise known as this word sovereignty.
The guest on today's show was by far one of my favorite stars from ABC's TV show The Bachelor. Madison Prewett shares how the ancient story of Esther is still relevant today and how some of those parallel lessons she’s adopted in her own life help her navigate her journey, such as:
Decide who you want to be before you step into your Big Moments
Claim your confidence so you can get out of the comparison game
Break free from the labels others put on you
As always, I love letting our guests know the impact that they're having. And so it would mean the world to me if you share the love. You can tag her @MadiPrew and @BiancaOlthoff and let us know what you're learning. Also share and leave a positive review on Spotify, Apple Podcast or whatever platform you listen to your podcast.
We appreciate you. And can't wait to chat next week.
Love you, friends.

05 Aug 2021 | Ep 35: Write Your Own Story with Craig Groeschel | 00:36:41
Hey family!! Welcome back to another episode of We’re Going There!
Two years ago when we started The Father House OC, I knew I wanted a coach. I’ve never been a pastor or considered myself a leader. I just filled gaps and stepped into places that needed help. I knew of Pastor Craig Groeschel, listened to every podcast, read his books, and enjoyed how he led his life. I’m honored for the opportunity of being a guest on his podcast and having his guidance in this season.
On today’s episode the tables turn and I am going to be interviewed by Pastor Craig Groeschel. We will unpack how to:
Be confident even when you think you're not the right person for the job
Be a reluctant leader
Write your own story or someone else will
Have conviction, know your weaknesses, and have inner faith and hope
Friends, I’m grateful for you being on this journey with me and I hope you walked away with some practical points and leadership handles.
As always, if this podcast was a gift to you, you can tag @CraigGroeschel and @BiancaOlthoff to share with your friends and family what you are listening to and growing from.
Love you all!

16 Jan 2024 | Ep 134: Finding Happiness Beyond Weight Loss - Day 2 The Weighting Game Series with Leslie Schilling and Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:36:30
Does it seem like everywhere you go someone is asking you for your weight? Are you tired of obsessing over the number on your weight scale? Real talk - I’m tired too!
Let’s be honest friends, talking about weight issues is uncomfortable. That’s why Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Therapist is back with us for day 2 of The Weighting Game series. Today we discuss:
The issues with the scale
Bodies are miracles, not math
Weight-centric training and health
The flaws of BMI and Body Fat Percentage
Recognizing disordered eating and body grief
Determining health and wholeness beyond numbers
There are so many dangers in pursuing an unrealistic body image. We need to recognize that body diversity is important in our society and that there is no one-size-fits-all definition of health. Overall health and well-being start with healthy connections and relationships. Let’s make it a goal to prioritize holistic health and freedom from diet culture.
You are not alone, friend. Tag me @biancaolthoff and @leslieschilling and share how you are finding food freedom in your life.
Love,
B

We have to come to grips with the fact that you may never be in the body that this culture promised you.
Takeaways
Weight-centric training and the focus on the number on the scale can be harmful and perpetuate diet culture.
Health is multifaceted and cannot be determined solely by weight or body size.
Body diversity is important, and there is no one-size-fits-all definition of health.
Connections and relationships play a significant role in overall health and well-being.
BMI is not an accurate or reliable measure of health, and body fat percentage should be considered instead.
Disordered eating can manifest in various ways and is not limited to extreme cases.
Determining health and wholeness should involve regular nourishment, movement, good relationships, and self-care.
The goal is to prioritize holistic health and freedom from the constraints of diet culture.

04 Mar 2021 | Ep 17: Act Your Wage with Rachel Cruze | 00:34:26
Friends, sometimes we need a voice to help us remember the power that money can have over us. Money is funny but we all have to deal with it. If we understand that money can be our friend and not our foe and if we learn how to steward it, we can use our finances not just for financial freedom - but to build the Kingdom of God as well.
Today my special guest Rachel Cruze will discuss more about how to know ourselves and know our money. She will help us understand why it is important to identify which of the 4 money environments we grew up in and how that affects our view and use of our finances.
The 4 money classrooms are:
Anxious money classroom
Unstable money classroom
Unaware money classroom
Secure money classroom
Let’s be real - nobody likes to talk about money or money issues! I’m so grateful that we got to spend time and learned from Rachel today. You can find her book Know Yourself, Know Your Money anywhere fine books are sold.
Thanks for listening in today! It would mean so much to me if you honored and thanked Rachel by tagging her @RachelCruze and @BiancaOlthoff. Two lucky winners will receive a copy of Rachel’s book Know Yourself, Know Your Money.
Love you guys and we will chat next week!

19 Jan 2024 | Ep 137: Reframing our Relationship with Food - Day 5 The Weighting Game Series with Leslie Schilling and Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:23:49
How can you view eating and food as a gift rather than a burden? What are some healthy behaviors that you can adopt outside of diet culture? Today's episode concludes a week-long exploration of dismantling diet culture and shifting the focus from weight loss to health.
All good things come to an end, but Leslie and I close out the series by giving you practical tips for health and wellbeing. We will be emphasizing the importance of:
Fueling your body
Reframing eating and food as a gift from God
Putting health into a positive perspective
Seeking help if you are struggling with disordered eating
Our hope is that you walk away from this series feeling loved, valued, and grateful for the wonderful body that you live in. You don’t need to conform to certain body standards imposed by others. But hear me when I say that if you are in a place where you are stuck or struggling, please, please, please seek help. You don’t have to walk through this alone. Self-care is important and professional help is available. Love and embrace your body and yourself just the way you are!
Thank you for joining us for this entire week of The Weighting Game series. And remember, you don’t have to allow diet culture and societal pressures to dictate how you view your body.

Quote
A role in a title can be taken away, but no one can take God's call on your life but Him.
Takeaways
Divorce can be a challenging and painful experience, but it also offers an opportunity for personal growth and starting over.
Supporting friends going through divorce requires empathy, patience, and allowing them to grieve and heal at their own pace.
It is important to avoid speaking negatively about the ex-spouse in front of children and to create a safe and honest environment for them.
Before starting to date again after divorce, it is crucial to take time to heal, seek therapy if needed, and focus on personal growth.
God is with you in the midst of divorce and can bring healing, restoration, and a new beginning.

31 Oct 2022 | Ep 98: Gossip In The Church, The Power Of Our Words and Choosing Encouragement Over Speculation with Bianca Juarez Olthoff | 00:25:00
Have you ever been hurt by someone gossiping about you? Are you guilty of talking about someone behind their back? Gossip is running rampant in today's world, both online and in person and we're going to tackle it in this episode.
In this episode, I will:
Define gossip and different types of gossipers
Explain why we shouldn't gossip, from a biblical perspective
Why people may feel the need to gossip
How we can actively fight against gossip culture
Gossip has become a part of everyday life, whether defined as a water cooler moment with colleagues in the office or chatting about someone else's business with friends. It can also be found online when scrolling through tabloids and social media. While it might seem innocent, it can be hurtful, lead to wild assumptions and cause division in relationships. I'll explain what gossip is and the damage it can cause. I’ll also cover what the Bible says about gossip as well as how gossip is showing up in the [capital C] Church.
My heart and my hope is that as you listen, you'll reflect on this topic and have the courage to call out gossip when you see it in real time. Let's instead be generous with encouragement, it goes much further and will have a positive impact on someone's life. You can tag me @biancaolthoff, I'd love to know how this episode spoke to you!
Love you,
B

03 Oct 2022 | Ep 94: The Formula For Prayer, Understanding God’s Character and Counting Your Blessings with Chad Veach | 00:36:12
Have you ever wondered if there’s a correct way to pray? Do you sometimes wish there was a cheat sheet for prayer? Are you waiting for God to answer a specific prayer? Chad Veach is the faith-filled, fun-loving pastor of ZOE Church LA who can speak to all thing’s prayer. In this conversation, we talk about:
• Understanding what prayer is and why we should pray
• The ways God answers prayer
• How prayer changes us individually
• Embracing the blessings in our lives
Chad is a church leader, author and friend who has a refreshing perspective on prayer that’s been cultivated through personal experience. During this episode, Chad lays out the formula for how to pray and reminds us why we should. He also speaks about the ways in which God responds to our prayers. Something I loved about this conversation was how practical it was - Chad shares ways in which we can be intentional with prayer in our daily lives.
My heart and my hope is that as you listen, you’ll remember that prayer is simply communication with God. Whether it’s through talking, journaling or walking, prayer changes us and makes us better. You can tag us @biancaolthoff and @chadveach, we'd love to see what prayer looks like in your life.
Love you,

24 Sep 2020 | Ep 05: How To Forgive and Forget with Lysa TerKeurst | 00:35:56
Welcome to another episode of We’re Going There, the place where we can have honest conversations on real issues that are relevant today. I’ve been SO looking forward to introducing you to my BESTIE FOR THE RESTIE, the ever-fab, Lysa TerKeurst.
Lysa has built her ministry by giving AWAY what God has given her. As the President of Proverbs 31 ministries, she hosts one of the best trainings for aspiring writers, teachers, and communicators called She Speaks.
Today we are going to talk about the touchy topic of forgiveness. Now before you roll your eyes or think this isn’t for you, take heed lest ye fall my brother and sister! She has a unique way of telling her story in a way that makes you feel safe enough to tell yours. And if you feel like you don’t have the words, she gives you hers. My hope is that you love her as much as I do.
This week I am giving away to 2 lucky winners an advance reader copy of Lysa’s new book. All you have to do is share this message with your friends, family, and frienemies and tag @LysaTerkeurst and @BiancaOlthoff on social media to be entered to win. And if you want to bypass the whole process you can preorder her amazing new book Forgiving What You Can’t Forget and you can also stalk her online @LysaTerkeurst.
We’re Going There is a new podcast and it would mean the world to me if you subscribed to the show and wrote a review. As a gift of appreciation, I’d love to send you a 7-week video bible study and PDF guide through the book of Ruth as my gift to you. All you need to do is write a review, take a photo of your review, and email it podcast@inthenameoflove.org to be sent your FREE goodies.
You don’t want to miss next week and if you’re free tomorrow I’m dropping a bonus episode on Forgiving My Abuser.

27 Jan 2022 | Ep 66: Love Is Series - The Sex Talk | 00:30:15
Friends, welcome to day four of Love Is, a six-day podcast special about love, dating and sex.
We're REALLY going there in today's episode as I'll be giving you the sex talk... yes, really! This conversation is for grown folks, so listener discretion is advised.
This topic is something I'm passionate about as far too often the church doesn't speak about it. Instead, we let culture and media define what sex is and how it should look, which often leads to hurt and can create all sorts of problems. When sex is fulfilled within the covenant of marriage, it's a beautiful and wonderful experience that honors God. If you're looking for some Bible to back it up, just read Song of Solomon aka Song of Songs. (Helloooo!)
My heart and my hope is that as you listen to this session you'll begin to see sex from God's perspective. It doesn't have to be a difficult, awkward or taboo topic of conversation.
If you've found this episode helpful, share it with your friends! Don’t forget to post it on social media and tag me @BiancaOlthoff.
Love you,
🖤

07 Dec 2021 | Tuesday Truths: Are You A Cup or A Straw | 00:02:40
What God gives to you, he wants to give through you. God is looking for people He can use. Will you be a cup or will you be a straw? If you're a cup, you just get filled up and that's it. But when you’re a straw God can channel His blessing through you to other people.
When you're going through a tough time you still can say: God I don't have much but I'm willing to share. When you do this, God promises three things; first - you will grow spiritually, second - He will use you to meet the needs of other people, and third - you'll bring Him glory.
When you give away what you have, God will open the door of blessings in your life in ways you can’t imagine.
