12 Feb 2025#325 - What Your Doctor Won’t Tell You About Cancer, Hormones & Healing with Dr Leigh Erin Connealy01:08:30

I’ve been trying to get Dr. Leigh Erin Connealy on the podcast since last year—and after moving countries twice (and totally butchering her name 🤣 as us Aussies do), we finally made it happen.

It was worth the wait!

Dr. Connealy is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to treating cancer, hormonal imbalances, and chronic illness with a root cause approach.

She doesn’t just throw meds at symptoms—she looks at what’s actually driving disease and helps people heal from the inside out.

This episode hit extra close to home for me because my sister recently went through breast cancer. And honestly, I wish more people had access to the kind of information Dr. Connealy shares, because it’s not just for people with cancer—it’s for everyone.

🔥 In this episode, we dive into:

✔️ How the way you’ve lived your life up until now affects your health

✔️ Why real food—organ meats, dairy, fruit, root vegetables—is one of the keys to healing and thriving

✔️ The biggest lies we’ve been told about birth control, HRT, and cancer treatment

✔️ Why we need to stop fearing the sun and start getting daily exposure

✔️ How modern living—EMFs, pollution, and toxic chemicals—are affecting our health and what we can do about it

✔️ The real reason so many women struggle in perimenopause and menopause

It’s a wake-up call and an empowering message rolled into one. You are not broken. You don’t need a magic pill. But you do need to take radical responsibility for your health.

This episode is one of the most important conversations I’ve had on the podcast—so go listen, share it with every woman you know, and let’s take our health back.

27 Feb 2023#196 - Understanding energy balance when it comes to weight loss/weight gain with Kate Deering00:44:25

Kate has probably been on the podcast most out of any other of our guests. She is the author of How To Heal Your Metabolism; It’s a great book. If you haven’t read it, I definitely recommend it.

We notice a lot of women that come into this space come from restrictive diet backgrounds and then start including carbs and dairy into their diet without actually tracking their calorie intake....and what happens? Unwanted weight gain.

So we thought we would talk more about understanding energy balance when it comes to weight gain and weight loss.

In this episode, Kate and I chat about:

➡️The importance of knowing your starting point

➡️Getting honest with yourself and tracking your food

➡️How you get stuck in the restrict-binge cycle

➡️How to calculate your TDE

➡️Why muscle mass matters for energy balance & weight loss

➡️Losing water and glycogen when you cut carbs and how this leads to quick 'weight loss'

➡️Accounting for your system and individual differences

➡️Why you need to understand your specific body energy balance

➡️Calories in vs calories out

➡️Building muscle and how long it actually takes

➡️The importance of muscle mass

➡️What it takes to maintain

➡️How to make tracking easier and how to simplify it

Happy listening I hope you find this podcast helpful and don't forget to take a screenshot of the episode and share it on Instagram stories and tag me at @kittyblomfield. Each month I choose someone who has shared and they get a tub of Saturée Premium Collagen valued at $79.

29 Nov 2023#267 - Why you'll want to make this B vitamin a daily staple with Emma Sgourakis00:17:23

In this episode, I chat with the co-founder of Saturée Emma Sgourakis - The Nutrition Coach about our new product Niacinamide.

Pure Niacinamide powder has been a daily staple for us, and most of our clients, for many years, so when it started

to become harder to find, especially in Australia, we knew we had to source and create our own product as part of our supplements range.

Niacinamide, the amide form of Vitamin B3, provides a myriad of benefits, most notably it improves glucose metabolism and energy production, restrains the release of volatile free fatty acids into the bloodstream protecting against oxidative damage, and serves as a reliable precursor to NAD+

When consumed regularly, in conjunction with a nutritious diet and healthy lifestyle, it’s a powerful weapon against the factors that accelerate ageing … and we’re not just talking about the visible signs of ageing.

23 Jan 2023#186 - From overcoming years of domestic abuse, under eating and over exercising to transforming her body and health and becoming a coach with April Orford00:25:54

April is the coach that has been with us the longest. She is amazing and has been through a lot of sh*t in her life. But she’s overcome it and had an incredible transformation. Now, she helps other women do the same in our program.

April actually started as a client in 2017, joining right after we launched. At the time, she was working as a PT in the gym and had recently left an abusive relationship. But she really applied herself and got results. At the time, I remember her even saying that she couldn’t afford the program but also couldn’t afford not to do it. It’s just been such a pleasure watching her grow and actually put herself first (She is a single mum of two kids!).

In this episode, April and I chat about:

➡️Her story of falling pregnant at 19

➡️How she left an abusive relationship

➡️April’s rock bottom and what she did about it

➡️Her dieting past

➡️How April healed her cystic acne

➡️April’s personal PBs in the gym (she's super strong)

➡️Why April became a coach

➡️Advice April has for other women on this journey

08 May 2024#287 - The scary truth about fish oil with Bryan Thomas00:17:20

Back in my crazy diet days I used to take a tonne of fish oil and eat flaxseed oil with my tuna and green beans every day for morning tea.

Ever wonder about the real story behind fish oil? 🐟💊 Today on the Podcast, we've brought back our wonderful friend Bryan Thomas from Performance Neuro to unpack the myths and truths about fish oil supplements that many of us believe are health boosters.

Did you know that fish oil started as a waste product in fish hatcheries and was almost considered a pollutant?

Through clever marketing, it's been sold as a must-have for health, but here's the twist: it might not be as beneficial as we think!

Bryan sheds light on how fish oil can actually suppress immune function, which might mask symptoms without truly healing us.

2024 was a rollercoaster for us— we moved country twice 🤣, big business changes, personal challenges, and even adopting two adorable rescue dogs in Thailand Suri and Mali - I just love them so much already🐾. Through it all, one thing became clear: growth comes from embracing the process, even when it’s tough.

In this episode, we dive into:

✨ The different phases of body transformation—fat loss, body recomposition, and muscle building—and why understanding which phase is right for you is key to success.

✨ Why body recomposition (gaining muscle while losing fat) is ideal for most women starting out.

✨ The benefits of focusing on muscle building and improving your metabolism, especially if you’ve been chronically dieting or have hit a plateau.

✨ Why setting clear, realistic body composition goals is a game-changer.

✨ How strength training and proper nutrition can completely transform your physique (and your mindset!).

✨ Practical advice for embracing consistent, imperfect action to create lasting results.

Not sure which phase you should be focusing on? We break it all down, so you can confidently map out your goals and understand how to get there step by step.

15 Jan 2025#321 - How to reverse ageing at middle-age with The Edge Content00:37:28

Are you tired of feeling like the diet and fitness world has left you confused, stressed, and stuck in endless cycles?

This week, I sat down with Vahdaneh, the incredible mind behind @TheEdgeContent on Instagram, and we dove deep into a topic that resonates with so many of us: finding *true regeneration* through nourishment, stress reduction, and tuning into your body.

Vahdaneh shares her inspiring journey—from years of restrictive diets, overtraining, and burnout to discovering Ray Peat’s work and completely transforming her health and life. She talks about:

✨ How moving to the countryside (and getting chickens 🐔) helped her reduce stress and improve sleep.

✨ Why healing your metabolism isn’t just about food—it’s also about managing your environment and emotional stress.

✨ Her top staples for long-term health, including calcium, gelatin, and the power of sugar (yes, sugar!).

✨ Embracing aging naturally and how nourishing your body can leave you looking and feeling younger.

We also chat about our shared love for carbs, potatoes, and ice cream 🍦 and why ditching food guilt can lead to freedom and balance.

Plus, Vahdaneh shares her tips on listening to your intuition and finding what works *for you* without getting lost in the noise of social media or diet trends.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed or unsure about what’s truly healthy, this episode is packed with wisdom, relatable stories, and practical advice to help you simplify your approach and feel amazing in your body.

09 Apr 2025#333 - Struggling with Fat Loss, Insomnia, and Hormone Issues? This 41-Year-Old Mum Finally Found a Sustainable Solution with Isha Julka00:25:39

When Isha found us, she was 41, a busy working mum, and completely burnt out from trying to “fix” her body. She was doing everything she thought she was supposed to—fasted HIIT 5–6 days a week, barely eating, and constantly chasing results that never came.

Despite her efforts, she felt exhausted, anxious, and stuck in a body she didn’t recognise. Her PMS was debilitating, she couldn’t sleep, her thyroid was struggling, and her doctor had started talking about perimenopause. Even after discovering the pro-metabolic approach, she swung too far the other way—overeating, gaining weight, and reaching her highest body fat at 35%.

That’s when she found us. And everything changed.

We helped Isha set clear calorie and macro targets, simplified her meals with real food—like juice, fruit, sourdough, and easy-to-digest proteins—and taught her how to train for body recomposition, not just burn calories. We supported her sleep, her mindset, and her recovery so she could see results without burnout or restriction.

Now? She’s dropped 13% body fat and sits around 22%. She deadlifts 100kg, sleeps through the night, her anxiety and PMS are gone, and she’s eating more food than ever—without fear. Best of all, she’s a powerful role model for her son, who now says, “Wow, Mum, you’re strong.”

This isn’t just a body transformation—it’s a life transformation. If you’re where Isha was, know this: you’re not broken. You just need the right method.

Listen in to hear exactly how she did it.

13 Mar 2023#200 - Are you making these mistakes with your training with Ben Yanes01:51:52

If you like lifting and getting strong, Ben Yanes’ IG page will really resonate with you. Craig and I love the educational content Ben produces. Ben is a personal trainer and educator of exercise mechanics based in New York.

Most women that we work with say they want a toned and athletic body. But where a lot of women go wrong (I did this too back in the day) is that they do a ton of HIIT, running, and boot camps. So, I wanted to get Ben on to talk about what building muscle and “getting toned” actually involves.

In this episode, Ben and I chat about:

➡️Ben’s training and athletic background

➡️Why HIIT and boot camps aren't the best way to build muscle

➡️Weight loss myths

➡️What happens when you first start lifting

➡️Forming better habits

➡️Why walking is essential for fitness and weight loss

➡️How muscle regulates insulin and glucose

➡️Frequency and volume of training

➡️Why doing more isn’t always better

➡️Training to failure for building muscle and why it's important

➡️Where to start if you’re new to lifting

➡️Should you swap exercises every four weeks?

➡️Once you reach your body goal how much work does it take to maintain it?

➡️Nutrition for growing muscle

19 Mar 2025#330 - Strength & Nourishment: The Foundation for Sustainable Fat Loss with Emmalee Thompson01:02:29

Think eating less and training more is the only way to lose weight? Spoiler: That’s exactly why you’re stuck. Let’s break it down in this episode.

I sat down with Emmalee—holistic health practitioner, former nurse, and all-around badass—to talk about how so many women are stuck in survival mode, under-eating, over-stressed, and under-muscled.

Emmalee’s story is incredible—she was diagnosed with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, put on meds that made her feel even worse, and was told there was nothing she could do. Instead of accepting that, she walked out of her doctor’s office and started healing herself through nutrition, strength training, and a pro-metabolic approach.

We dive deep into:

🔥 Why so many women are afraid to eat more (and why that’s the biggest mistake keeping them stuck)

🔥 The myth that lifting weights will make you bulky (spoiler: it’s actually your best tool for fat loss & longevity)

🔥 Why building muscle is the missing piece for women who feel ‘skinny fat’ and struggle with body composition

🔥 How data-driven coaching helps women overcome the fear of carbs, gain strength, and finally see results

🔥 Why so many women feel exhausted and out of control—and how to start feeling strong, energised, and in charge of your body again

This episode is for every woman who’s tired of dieting, tired of feeling weak, and ready to finally train, eat, and live in a way that actually works long-term.

22 Dec 2024#318 - The anti-ageing power of topical Methylene Blue for the skin with Emma Sgourakis00:24:51

On the latest episode I sat down with my dear friend and co-founder of Saturee, Emma Sgourakis (aka The Nutrition Coach), to discuss our game-changing Bioenergetic Methylene Blue Serum. This incredible serum is packed with powerhouse ingredients like methylene blue, vitamin C, and niacinamide, and it's been years in the making.

We shared the behind-the-scenes journey of creating this serum—from convincing formulators to take a chance on methylene blue to ensuring every single ingredient is of the highest quality. It hasn’t been easy (at all), but seeing the results makes every challenge worth it.

✨ So, what makes this serum so amazing?

- It’s *anti-aging* magic: reduces fine lines, wrinkles, and even age spots.

- Improves skin elasticity, tone, and hydration.

- Protects against environmental stress and inflammation.

- Even works wonders on older skin, reversing visible signs of aging.

We’re thrilled about the feedback from our trial users—reduced eye bags, plumper, more hydrated skin, and vibrant complexions in just 30 days! One of the testers, Donna, said: "Thank you for making me feel beautiful again.*

If you’re tired of wasting money on products with bold claims but no results, this serum is a must-try. We’ve poured our hearts into creating something safe, nourishing, and truly effective—not just for your skin but for your confidence.

23 Apr 2025#335 - Metabolism 101: The Missing Link in Your Hormone & Weight Struggles with Kate Deering01:08:05

I used to think I had a “broken metabolism”...

Turns out, I just didn’t understand what metabolism actually was.

For years I was tired, cold, bloated, and stuck in a cycle of clean eating, crazy HIIT classes, excessive cardio, and constant restriction then binge eating.

I thought I was doing everything “right” but my body felt like it was working against me.

Then I discovered a totally different way of looking at health, hormones, and fat loss…

And everything changed.

In this new podcast episode, I sat down with my friend @katedeeringfitness author of How to Heal Your Metabolism, to talk about the REAL reason so many women feel exhausted, inflamed, and frustrated.

We covered:

→ What metabolism really is (and what it’s not)

→ How under-nourishment, overtraining and stress cause hormonal chaos

→ Why your symptoms (like hot flushes, fatigue, and stubborn fat) aren’t “just aging”

→ The healing power of fruit, dairy, sugar + salt (yep, we said it)

→ And how to finally build a body that feels as good as it looks

If you’re a woman in your 30s, 40s, or 50s who feels like you’re doing everything right and still getting nowhere…

This episode will change the way you see your health.

16 Jan 2023#184 - Why we think you should eat Breakfast with Kate Deering00:34:13

Eating breakfast is a very debated topic online. I used to train fasted, and I didn’t know the impact not eating breakfast had on my hormones and metabolism. Now, I look so forward to my breakfast. There are also more than a few reasons you should eat breakfast within 30 minutes of waking. In this episode, Kate and I discuss:

➡️What happens to your blood sugar as you sleep

➡️Why it’s important to eat breakfast

➡️What activates the stress response

➡️The significance of breakfast for building muscle

➡️What to do if you wake up with no appetite

➡️What your morning temperatures mean

➡️Easy breakfast ideas

➡️What if you train in the morning first thing?

➡️Eating 30 grams of protein with breakfast

13 Nov 2024#313 - How to unfuck your relationship and life with Max Trombly and Greta Zukoff01:33:03

This podcast was a raw, deep dive into the complexities of life, relationships, and self-discovery.

Last year Craig and I went through an incredibly hard time in our relationship. During this time we worked with Max and Greta who helped us navigate the challenges we faced.

This episode wasn’t just about the usual fitness or nutrition tips but about understanding the layers within ourselves and our relationships.

We delved into the concept of masculine and feminine energies and how they shape our experiences and dynamics with others. Both Greta and Max shared powerful insights on childhood wounds, and it made me think about how much of what we experience as adults—our pain, our fears, our triggers—roots back to unresolved pieces of our past.

One thing I learnt last year was that every relationship, romantic or otherwise, can act as a mirror. Max explained how, through his own marriage, he’s found ways to lean into that vulnerability, allowing space for true healing and connection. It’s not easy, especially when we’ve spent years building walls or staying in control to protect ourselves. One of the many things I took away from their coaching, is that a conscious relationship is a gift—a chance to truly see and be seen, to create a connection that’s deep, real, and sustainable.

To those of you exploring these parts of yourselves, you’re not alone. If this resonates, join us in this episode—it’s worth every minute.

24 Jul 2024#298 - Strength in Your 40s: Mastering Body Composition for Women Over 40 with Craig McDonald00:53:15

In our latest group coaching call, Coach Craig focused on the essential strategies for achieving effective body recomposition, especially for women over 40. Here’s a glimpse of what he discussed:

👉Strength Training for Muscle Growth:

Craig highlighted the importance of lifting heavier weights with proper form and consistency. Building muscle requires patience and progressively challenging your body. Craig provided personalized feedback on members’ training regimens, emphasising that sustainable muscle growth takes time and effort.

👉Proper Nutrition:

Adequate nutrition is crucial for supporting muscle growth and recovery. He discussed the need for a balanced diet rich in protein and sufficient calories to fuel workouts. Avoiding excessively low-calorie diets is important to prevent muscle loss and maintain energy levels.

👉Setting Realistic Goals:

Craig addressed the common frustration of not seeing immediate results. He explained that while fat loss can be quickly visible, muscle building is a slower process. Setting realistic expectations and celebrating small progress is key to staying motivated.

👉Strength Goals Before Fat Loss:

Craig stressed the importance of hitting specific strength milestones before entering a fat loss phase. For example, achieving certain weights in lifts like the Romanian deadlift, squat, and bench press ensures you have enough muscle mass to maintain during a calorie deficit. This approach prevents muscle loss and enhances overall body composition.

👉Mindset and Consistency:

Shifting from a short-term goal mindset to embracing a long-term lifestyle change is vital. Consistency in both training and nutrition, along with a positive mindset, can lead to significant and sustainable body recomposition.

This coaching call with Craig showcases the personalised support and expert advice our members receive in our Group Coaching Program + App.

I have the guys from Bathing Evolved back on the podcast! A while back, they contacted me and sent me some of their awesome bath bombs. I was looking at them and noticed that they contained tea tree oil which is an endocrine disruptor, so I let them know. They did their own research and took the tea tree oil out!

➡️Hidden toxins in beauty and hygiene products

➡️How certain chemicals act like estrogen in the body

➡️The history of bathing

➡️The link between metabolism and bathing

➡️The benefits of getting magnesium via the skin

➡️The problem with a lot of Epsom salt brands

➡️The best way to bath (And how to use Bathing Evolved products)

➡️Depriving yourself and the power of doing nothing

12 Mar 2025#329 - The No-Diet approach to lasting weight loss & hormone balance that I have taught 18k+ women with Craig McDonald00:26:53

Most women in their 40's think they need to drastically cut calories, cut carbs, and do more HIIT classes and cardio to lose weight… but this is exactly what’s keeping you stuck.

If you’ve been restricting food, feeling exhausted, and still not seeing results, it’s time to change the approach.

Because the key to breaking free from restrictive diets and actually losing weight for good comes down to two things:

🔥 Fuelling your metabolism with the right food & macros (instead of starving yourself)

🔥 Building muscle so your body burns fat effortlessly (instead of spinning your wheels with cardio)

When you nourish your body instead of punishing it, everything changes:

💥 You lose weight without cutting carbs or fasting

💥 You balance your hormones naturally (no more crazy mood swings or bloating)

💥 You reshape your body and feel stronger than ever

💥 You finally stop obsessing over food & restriction

Craig and I are breaking it ALL down in today’s episode—so you can stop feeling stuck and start getting real, lasting results.

➡️Why it’s beneficial to build muscle when losing weight

➡️Can you lose weight without strength training?

➡️How muscle is beneficial through menopause

➡️How Kathleen approaches body recomposition for clients

➡️Healthy body fat percentages (and where most women are most happy)

➡️Why “getting lean” takes discipline and precision, if you want to do it in a healthy way

➡️How we approach lifting to get you to your desired body composition

➡️Why this journey is never linear

➡️Making sustainable lifestyle changes

➡️How everything is simple once you learn it

07 Feb 2024#274 - Building muscle, losing body fat and improving her digestion with Lauren00:17:12

This week I interviewed one of our amazing clients from the UK. Lauren shares her transformative journey with us, from feeling stuck in a cycle of restrictive diets and crappy training programs to embracing a lifestyle that has her eating more, training smartly, and seeing remarkable changes. Despite her love for food and skepticism about the program, Lauren went all in, tackling bloating issues, and learning the importance of balanced nutrition and resistance training for sustainable weight loss.

Lauren achieved an incredible loss of nearly 17 inches off her body measurements while gaining lean muscle mass, showcasing the power of focusing on body composition rather than just weight loss. The program has taught her the significance of macronutrients and the value of strength training, especially for women in their 40s.

Lauren highlights how the program has allowed her to enjoy a wide array of foods without feeling deprived, improving her bloating significantly with simple, yet effective dietary tweaks like the famous carrot salad. One of Lauren’s favorite aspects of the program is its family-friendly approach to meals, debunking the myth that healthy eating requires separate meals from the family.

Initially daunted by the gym and mastering the nutrition aspect, Lauren now finds joy in her workouts and is mastering her meal plans, demonstrating that with the right support and commitment, overcoming personal hurdles is entirely possible.

For anyone sitting on the fence about joining the program, Lauren’s message is clear: go for it! The supportive community, expert coaching, and practical, non-restrictive approach to nutrition and exercise have made a significant impact on her life.

23 Oct 2024#310 - From Dubai to Thailand: Growth, Challenges, and a New Adventure00:48:58

In this week's podcast, Craig and I reflect on a whirlwind year of growth, moving to Dubai, and the lessons we’ve learned along the way—both personally and in business.

We’ve also got some exciting news to share about our next big move to Thailand!

But more importantly, we dive into why so many women struggle to get lasting results with diet and training.

The truth is, most women over 40 have been stuck in the low-carb, sugar-free, and HIIT class-heavy mindset for years, and it’s wreaking havoc on their hormones and bodies.

That’s where our method—and our app—make all the difference.

We help you eat more of the right foods, train smarter (not harder), and track what truly matters for your body.

It’s not about starving yourself or endless HIIT classes; it’s about building strength, boosting metabolism, and getting sustainable, healthy results.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, our process will help you unlock food freedom and finally see progress in a way that works for your body!

02 Oct 2024#307 - From Restriction to Freedom: Mel’s Journey to Food Freedom, Strength, and Confidence00:21:13

I recently had an incredible chat on the podcast with one of our amazing clients, Mel, who shared her inspiring transformation story that I think so many of you will relate to. If you've ever struggled with yo-yo dieting, food restriction, or felt like you’ve tried everything and still aren’t seeing results, you’re going to want to tune in to this one.

Mel’s journey started just like so many women out there – battling body image issues since childhood, jumping from one restrictive diet to another (Keto, anyone?), and feeling completely lost, exhausted, and miserable. She even reached a point where she didn’t want to leave the house. Sound familiar?

What changed for her? Joining our program, which taught her how to eat in a way that actually fuels her body, enjoy food again (yes, she’s now loving carbs like orange juice and rice pudding!), and embrace strength training. She stopped obsessing over the scale and started focusing on building muscle, and guess what? She’s now 9kg down, 17.5% body fat, and feeling stronger and more confident than ever before. 🙌

Here are a few gems from Mel’s story that we talked about on the podcast:

👉How she finally found food freedom and stopped the binge-restrict cycle for good.

👉Why learning to eat more (yes, MORE) has been the key to her fat loss and muscle-building success.

👉How our program helped her fix her relationship with food and her body, ditch the guilt, and stop being controlled by the scale.

👉The incredible improvements in her energy, mood, and even her hair and skin!

If you’ve been trying to starve yourself skinny, or can’t seem to break the cycle of bingeing and restricting, this episode is for you. Mel’s experience shows what’s possible when you stop focusing on the 👉number on the scale and start fuelling your body to feel strong, energised, and empowered!

31 Jan 2024#273 - How to structure your nutrition to get the most out of your training with Craig McDonald00:29:36

In today's episode, recorded in our bright and airy new studio, we unpack the essentials of training for optimal body composition and how to fuel your body to maximize training performance. 🏋️‍♀️💡

We discusses practical tips for pre-workout nutrition, highlighting the need for a balance of protein, carbs, and healthy sugars to fuel your sessions and support muscle growth. 🍳🍌🥛

Key takeaways include shifting the focus from calorie burning to muscle building for a stronger, healthier body and the metabolic benefits of having more muscle mass, especially for women navigating menopause. 🚺💖

04 Sep 2024#303 - The journey to losing 30kgs and optimal health with Nicole Liddell00:23:07

Nicole's story is one of resilience, determination, and the power of taking control of your health, no matter where you start.

Nicole is 51, a single mom of three, and currently working on her PhD—she’s always been someone who juggles a lot. When we first met years ago, she was struggling with perimenopausal symptoms, stress, and the aftermath of an abusive relationship. Like so many women, she had tried everything to lose weight in the past, from extreme calorie restriction to excessive cardio. But it wasn’t until she found us that things really started to change for her.

Over the last 18 months, Nicole has lost 30 kilos (about 66 pounds) again, and she’s done it while learning to truly understand her body. She talked about how she’s shifted her mindset from obsessing over weight loss to focusing on building muscle and improving her overall health. Nicole’s now at a place where she’s tracking her progress without letting the data control her emotionally, and she’s feeling stronger and more empowered than ever.

One of the things that really stood out in our conversation was how strength training has been the most effective therapy for her. It’s not just about the physical changes, but the confidence and joy that comes with being strong and capable. She’s now doing things she couldn’t have imagined a year ago, like solo camping and just enjoying life more fully.

Nicole’s advice to other women? Look beyond the quick fix. Focus on long-term health goals and find a “why” that’s bigger than just how you look. It’s about being active, healthy, and enjoying life for many years to come.

I hope Nicole’s journey inspires you to keep going, even when it feels tough. Remember, this is a lifestyle change, not a race. Take it one step at a time, and keep your eyes on the bigger picture. 💪

19 Dec 2022#178 - What we are doing with our training and nutrition over the holidays and what we get our clients to do with Craig McDonald00:13:54

The holidays are upon us! We're actually taking two full weeks off. I'm actually really looking forward to the time off, going to the beach, going out to eat, and catching up with friends and family.

We thought this was a good time to talk about what we do over the holidays when it comes to our training and nutrition and what we get our clients to do. I used to restrict like crazy leading up to the holidays, then I’d binge for two weeks and get straight back to restricting Jan 2nd 🤣

So, this is a short episode about what we do now and how you can approach your training and nutrition over the holidays.

In this episode, Craig and I chat about:

➡️Eating over the holidays

➡️Enjoying the holidays and time with your loved ones

➡️How its consistency that matters

➡️Not doing fat loss phases for these couple of weeks

➡️Breaking free of the restrict/binge mindset

➡️Getting enough protein

➡️The importance of starting your day with a solid breakfast that has 20-30g of protein

➡️Staying active

➡️Not worrying about progress for these two weeks

And more!

22 May 2024#289 - How you can harness the power of carbs to lose weight with Mike Fave00:53:40

A few weeks ago I had Mike Fave on the podcast. Mike is an independent researcher with a wealth of knowledge on diet and metabolic health. I first met him on a podcast with Danny Roddy and Jay Feldman and just thought he was a great guy 👏

In this podcast we dive deep into a topic that's often misunderstood: sugar, juice and fruit. Many women in our program come from restrictive dieting backgrounds, cutting out sugar completely, fearing it like it's the devil. They even equate a glass of orange juice to a can of soft drinks.

Mike helps us break down these misconceptions.

He shares his journey through various diets, from bodybuilding to keto, and how he now focuses on reading research directly. His experience as a nurse, especially during COVID, and his work in health consulting gives him a unique perspective.

We discuss how sugar, particularly fructose, has been unfairly demonised. Mike explains that sugar is a vital fuel source, and the real issue lies in what sugar is often packaged with in processed foods. We also touch on how many women develop a fear-based mentality around food, leading to unhealthy cycles of restriction and bingeing.

Mike provides practical advice for those transitioning from low-carb diets. He suggests slowly lowering fat intake while increasing carbs from whole food sources, like fruits and some starches, before introducing more rapidly digesting carbs like juice.

This episode is packed with insights on how to nourish your body properly, find food freedom, and enjoy delicious, balanced meals without fear. If you're ready to transform your relationship with food and embrace a healthier, happier lifestyle, this episode is for you.

Happy listening I hope you find this podcast helpful and don't forget to take a screenshot of the episode and share it on Instagram stories and tag me at @kittyblomfield. Each month I choose someone who has shared and they get a tub of Saturée Premium Collagen valued at $79.

A little while ago, Kelly (@TheDetoxedLife) joined our program and her results have been incredible.

🙌 She’s down 10 lbs, building strength every week, and loving how she’s balancing muscle-building and macros while managing life with two kids.

When I saw Kelly’s profile, I knew I had to get her on the podcast as we have many women in our program who have kids with gut health issues and she’s a nutritionist specialising in kids' gut health.

Kelly’s journey started with her own struggles—IBS, endometriosis, infertility, and toxic dieting. After discovering pro-metabolic eating, she healed her gut and found balance. Her son, Arlen, was her inspiration to help kids heal. At just 7, he struggled with stomach aches, low weight, and leaky gut.

Through targeted testing and protocols, Kelly helped him heal completely. He’s now thriving—no more stomach issues or picky eating!

She also talked about how toxins in everyday products (fake tans, perfumes, and beauty creams) contribute to hormone disruption, cycle issues, and even infertility. This is one reason @thenutritioncoach and I created @saturee_official_ skincare. It's free from PUFA's and toxic ingredients.

Kelly’s journey reminds us that it’s not about perfection—it’s about starting where you’re at, building habits step by step, and showing up consistently. Whether it’s training three days a week, dialling in your nutrition, or finding time for self-care, progress happens when you commit.

If you’re a mom struggling with your own health or looking for solutions for your kids, Kelly’s story is a must-hear.

14 Nov 2022#168 - Why you should train to build muscle not burn calories with Damon Hayhow01:06:40

Prior to meeting Craig I used to train to burn as many calories as possible! I did so many classes, HIIT and long runs. When I met Craig he said to me you need to stop destroying the body you have with cardio and restrictive diets and build the body you want with real food and strength training.

I learned about the benefit of lifting weights and getting stronger for body composition change: more muscle and less body fat. Following a structured and measured training program with the intention of building muscle. I not only improved my body composition but I also improved my health. Better sleep, better cycles, no more constipation, more energy and no more binge eating!

Damon was one of the first coaches Craig worked with and has heavily influenced our training methodology. He's been on the podcast before, so I thought I'd get him back on to talk about why we should be training to build muscle not burn calories.

In this episode, Damon and I chat about:

➡️Training like an athlete and for the outcome you want

➡️What being “toned” means (and what it involves)

➡️How weight training works

➡️Building vs maintaining

➡️Why excessive cardio doesn’t work to improve your body composition

➡️The problem with fast food

➡️The importance of proper lifting execution

➡️Falling in love with lifting and sustainability

➡️The link between training and nutrition

05 Mar 2025#328 - From Exhausted & Stuck to Losing 20lbs, Strong & Thriving: How Carrie Transformed Her Body & Health with Carrie Beiler00:39:21

Imagine being in your late 20s, exhausted, bloated, and constantly searching for the answer to your health struggles—only to be told that your body was shutting down.

That was Carrie.

At just 16 years old, she was diagnosed with PCOS, prediabetes, and severe digestive issues. Doctors warned her she might never have kids. She cycled through restrictive diets, supplements, and endless protocols—but nothing worked.

She tried paleo, extreme blood sugar control, and supplement stacks that cost thousands of dollars, yet she still felt like crap. She was constantly bloated, exhausted, and battling sugar crashes so intense that even a sweet potato would wipe her out.

Her breaking point? Postpartum. After years of trying everything, she was still stuck, overweight, and overwhelmed with three kids under five. That’s when she found our program—and everything changed.

We focused on nourishing her body, supporting her metabolism and building muscle.

✅ We set her up with the right macros and calories—no more under-eating, no more extreme restrictions.

✅ She started strength training to build muscle.

✅ We optimised her nutrition with pro-metabolic foods—real food, no diet BS, no unnecessary supplements.

✅ We focused on managing stress and improving recovery so her body could actually burn fat and feel good.

✅ She had accountability and guidance every step of the way so she never had to second-guess what she was doing.

The Results?

➡️ She lost 20lbs and completely changed her body composition with simple, sustainable strength training.

➡️ Her cycles went from 30-45 days (sometimes non-existent) to a regular 28-30 days with NO painful symptoms.

➡️ Her digestion healed—she went from taking 8 digestive enzymes per meal to ZERO.

➡️ Her energy skyrocketed—no more crashing, no more living off caffeine just to get through the day.

➡️ She feels STRONG, confident, and actually enjoys her body instead of battling it.

For the first time in her life, she’s not stressing about food, weight, or whether she’s doing enough.

20 Feb 2023#194 - The truth about salt with Stan Efferding00:37:50

Stan Efferding, the world’s strongest bodybuilder and the creator of The Vertical Diet, is back on the podcast! He is so knowledgeable, and this isn’t one you’ll want to miss.

We find so many women, when they start taking packaged foods out of their diet and eating more whole foods, usually end up undereating salt. Sometimes, we actually get them to track their salt intake, and then it often ends up being too low. This is because the only salt they get is what they add to their food (meaning they usually need to add more!).

So, in this episode, Stan and I chat about the importance of salt. We cover:

➡️Getting enough electrolytes

➡️The problem with salt/sodium restriction

➡️Symptoms of a low salt intake

➡️The benefits of salt

➡️How to add salt to your diet

➡️How much salt you need

➡️How training impacts your sodium levels and intake

➡️The water-salt relationship

Lisa actually thought she was an overweight kid, so she always did low-fat diets and restricted calories. She even did keto for 6 years and 86-hour fasts. Lisa no longer does all this craziness, so we sat down and had a bit of a chat about her journey.

In this episode, Lisa and I dig into:

➡️Lisa’s dieting history

➡️Her experience having a hysterectomy

➡️Losing 30 lbs and 24 inches in 16 weeks

➡️Other improvements she’s noticed

➡️What Lisa is currently eating

➡️Beating a binge eating disorder

➡️Challenges Lisa had to overcome

➡️Getting comfortable in the gym

➡️Advice to other women on this journey
