26 Dec 2020 | What is Unusually Well Informed about? | 00:05:15
Welcome to the Unusually Well Informed podcast. I am your host, Tim Hampton. This is a brief episode - just me and a microphone. My goal is to introduce you to the themes of this show. The show began primarily as an opportunity for me to gather the most interesting people I know and learn more about their passions and projects. Always in motion is the future, said Yoda. I believe this is particularly true today. Exponential changes in technology - automation - artificial intelligence - biotechnology - computing and connectivity - will create opportunities and side effects. As citizens and consumers - as leaders and entrepreneurs - we will shape and be shaped by these changes. Some episodes will be about how to identify and execute on that trillion dollar idea. Where do great ideas come from? How do we build on these ideas? How do we know when to pivot and when to persevere? Other episodes will be about how we as citizens can shape a world dominated by private enterprise. Can we embrace the material abundance that technology offers without compromising our sense of purpose and community, our liberty, our privacy or our environment? My conviction is that yes we can. I hope you will join me to hear from experts in their field as we explore the future and our place in it. If you have a show idea, or know someone who would be an ideal guest, please email me at tim@unusuallywellinformed.com. Stay tuned to the end to listen to the theme music for the show played in its entirety. I think it’s an arresting piece of music by Nihilore - one of his many. Music
