07 Nov 2023Andrea Newton And The Power Of Uncomfortable Conversations00:32:30

Having uncomfortable conversations is hard. But they can be so important, essential in fact, in improving our wellbeing and potentially saving lives.

Our guest today is Andrea Newton. Andrea describes herself quite simply as a 56-year-old woman from Cheshire, but Andrea is one brave woman.

She's here today to talk about how her mental health deteriorated in menopause, to the point where she made a plan to end her own life but her focus is now on enjoying her life rather than ending it. Now she specialises in supporting mental health as a qualified menopause and suicide prevention coach as well as an author and speaker.

Today, Andrea bravely shares her journey and we're so grateful to her for doing so. If you're feeling low, teary or even teetering on the edge, do please join us for our conversation today and know that you are not alone.

15 Nov 2022[Trailer] Confidence and Success Throughout Menopause and Beyond!00:01:18

If you’re following the news, it won’t have escaped your notice that there is a mass HRT-shortage crisis going on. With over-promised & under-delivered mentions of HRT becoming available without a new HRT Tsar…

UK ministers have a lot to sort out as so many women are getting their hormone replacement therapy by “other means.” A couple of shocking statistics taken from a Guardian article in August reveal that:

“14m working days a year are being lost to the UK economy as a result of menopausal symptoms. One in four women who experience the symptoms – many at the top of their career – consider leaving their job.”

Women are desperate, literally driving around several pharmacies - it’s frankly outrageous. This leads us to introduce two very strong advocates for women when it comes to supporting their health as well as standing up for  our rights to the healthcare we need and the support from both government and employers.

Claire Hattrick - menopause advocate, single mother of twin girls & author of the book “Menopause Help” & Debs Wallbank - aka “The Menopause Confidence Coach,” who has appeared on ITV’s This Morning, is a mentor and is helping women gain confidence & thrive through midlife & beyond!

Both of these wonderful ladies are inspirational & represent the unrepresented women out there, but also provide women with helpful content, advice, tips & so much more.

10 Jan 2023Pushing Boundaries: Mountain Mummy & Olympian Skier Chemmy Alcott00:33:04

An inspirational mum of two, wife and BBC Ski Sunday Presenter…and, wait for it, 4x Olympian skier used to hurtling herself down mountains at 92mph. Regarded as Britain’s greatest ever female skier, Chemmy Alcott put her stake in the ground by becoming the first British Alpine Ski racer to win a world cup run.

I wouldn’t know where to begin with her accomplishments…her incredible skiing achievements are just the tip of the iceberg! Raising well over £800,000 for charity, she’s done the World’s Toughest Ski Race in Greenland, the 100-mile road race in London and climbed Mt Kilimanjaro.

24 hours of paddling down the Amazon River, anyone? My guest today certainly knows how to push beyond her limits. After being offered her dream job as she was ready to birth her first child, she had what to most would be an IMPOSSIBLE decision to make.

Having broken 49 bones in her life, she meets adversity head on and rises to the challenge, no matter what life throws her way. Aside from her BBC presenting, Chemmy is an inspirational speaker, runs her own business with her husband, 25-time British Champion Dougie Crawford, also a ski coach.

Her two boys, Locki 5 and Cooper 3, are central to her life, but we’ll explore why maintaining identity is so incredibly important to her.

I’m really excited and honoured to talk with her today…

24 Jan 2023Midlife Ageing The New Way With Kristin Johnson And Maria Claps00:35:11

When menopause comes around, most of us least expect it - that’s because it creeps up from what we feel is an early age. A problem is that many women aren’t prepared for this new chapter and transition.

Your doctor might tell you it’s time for HRT and move you along with a prescription.

So you can see why midlife women are chronically uneducated, undersupported and totally unheard in our so-called “developed” society. We can feel like nothing’s REALLY working; this is our dealt hand, and that’s how life is.

Kristin and Maria are my guests today and are functional health practitioners who specialise in menopause health & lifestyle education. Founders of the incredibly successful resource on women’s midlife health, Wise and Well, we’re lucky to be blessed with BOTH of them and their abundance of knowledge and wisdom!

Together, they’ve flipped the landscape of women’s midlife health, educating and supporting women via hormonal and entire life transformations. Creators of Mastering Midlife Mayhem, a midlife blueprint programme.

We cover everything from HRT in perimenopause, to protein, sleep issues, diet (and the mistakes you’re making), exercise, and SO MUCH MORE.

15 Nov 2022Confidence and success throughout menopause and beyond!00:41:42

Here’s a fact I bet you didn’t know…women make up nearly half of the UK’s workforce. More shocking is that according to Wellbeing of Women, over 900,000 have quit their jobs because of the menopause.

One aim of the Menopause Workplace Pledge is to tackle this outrageous issue head-on. Boundaries are being broken left, right and centre - not supporting womens’ needs and ignoring the new way in which “work-life balance” has gotten confused and blurred.

My guest today is having a huge impact on the corporate sector when it comes to wellbeing at work. Highly experienced in the world of Management Consulting, Arti Kashyap-Aynsley has travelled the globe over, giving her insight into the impact of our working lives on our overall wellbeing.

She decided after many years at high level corporate positions, to pivot into the world of wellbeing - to focus on the design, development and delivery of global wellbeing strategies, specifically for corporate environments.

09 May 2023Menopause At Work: Boost Self-Confidence And Become Fearless00:31:53

The average age of menopause might be younger than you think? There’s an alarming reason why 1 in 10 menopausal women are leaving their jobs…meaning hundreds of UK organisations are losing incredible talent each year. It’s not because women are simply seeking higher salaries (though that’s a discussion for another time), greater challenges, or a change of environment and leadership…

It’s because of an embarrassing lack of knowledge and understanding about menopause symptoms on the employer. Employers, not only aren’t supporting women during menopause, they’re not even talking about it. So when the opportunity came up to sit down with today’s guest to discuss the elephant in the room at work, I saw this as an opportunity to educate us all!

Lauren Chiren describes herself as a no-nonsense speaker, trainer and health and business coach who helps people achieve their desires, goals and dreams…while helping businesses maintain the bottom line by retaining their top talent.

An inspirational woman and former Senior Executive in Financial Services, she’s an experienced global keynote speaker, podcast host, CEO and founder of Women of Certain Stage - including several other accomplishments to her name.

Lauren sits with me today to discuss how her own menopause in the corporate environment, led her to completely reinvent her approach to creating others' success!

“Menopause is the last wellbeing taboo”.

Those are the words of today’s guest, Sharon MacArthur, founder of Miss Menopause, and workplace educator for womens’ health & wellbeing at work.

We touch upon everything from how we can do more to educate our companies’ staff to become aware of this health issue (ALL women face in their lives) and other unspoken implications when coming of menopause age…like mental health.

14 Nov 2023Fear Less At Fifty With Kate Beavis00:30:24

Meet the incredible Kate Beavis, who's rocking TikTok with 75,000 followers and a staggering 1 million monthly views. Now there's a phrase I don't say about many midlife women.

On top of all this, Kate still finds time to be the driving force behind a number of businesses empowering midlife women, whether it's helping women in the workplace or even their relationships. As a staunch menopause advocate, Kate also became a certified menopause wellness practitioner to support women during this transformative phase of life.

Today, Kate brings her unique perspective on women in midlife. While she shares her own menopause journey, she's nine years sober, and proves that embracing the change is the ultimate game changer. Get ready to be inspired by Kate and her uplifting approach to life, which I think can be quite neatly summed up in her catchphrase, wear what you want at any age.

22 Nov 2022Coming of Menopause Age: Facing Wellbeing in the Workplace00:36:06

As Global Head of Health & Wellbeing for the Ocado Group, Arti is also Transformational Life Coach, and an advisor, speaker and thought leader across all aspects of Wellbeing, Inclusion & Diversity agendas.

She decided after many years at high level corporate positions, to pivot into the world of wellbeing - to focus on the design, development and delivery of global wellbeing strategies, specifically for corporate environments.
