Happy Halloween, everyone! We've got a especially spooky episode for you tonight - we take a look back at a vintage piece of British folk horror, Tigon Productions' The Blood on Satan's Claw from 1970. Despite having some terrific performances, production values and atmosphere to spare (as well as possibly the most metal title in the history of horror films), we find ourselves grappling with its muddy and indistinct plot. 35 mins

This week we have mixed things up by reviewing a documentary. The subject of this documentary, "Troll 2", has gathered a small cult following due to it's notoriety as the worst movie ever made. 37 mins.

We're back!  Due to a scheduling mix up/Andrew's apparent inability to understand what genre movies are in, we've actually ended up doing our second consecutive vampire-based comedy. This time, it's the New Zealand mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows, a shaggy, sketchy sort of film that nevertheless had us rolling in our chairs with laughter. 35 mins

After several non-starts I've finally got this one edited and ready for listening. It contains a LOT of colourful language and two grumpy podcasters who hated almost every minute of this film. We will definitely be reviewing the much better 2014 version at some point (once we get through this backlog) 40 mins

This week we look at Rob Zombie's The Lords of Salem. A Modern movie with an old fashioned horror feel. 54 mins long.

Another split opinion on this film. Is this film so bad that its become a wonderfully enjoyable film? Or, is it at best sort of OK but still not worth watching? It made lots of money and certain parts of the world seemed to really enjoy it. 27 mins

This week we look at a not greatly known movie, Glory. It follows the first ever all black Platoon in the US Civil War. A fantastic set of memorable characters played by an amazing cast, many of who were still early (ish) in their careers. 37 mins

Based on a group of murders in Quebec in Canada. This horror is full of brilliant atmosphere and tense moments. A group of sorority girls are being picked off and a mysterious caller won't leave them alone. 38 mins

After a LONG break, Andrew and Daniel are back with a rather disappointing film to start. Daniel, hoping that this is a fun but dumb film is quick convinced by Andrew that this is unfortunately just a bad film. 32 mins

This week's subject is a movie neither of us could make heads nor tails of. Marjane Satrapi's "The Voices" has a killer premise and boasts a virtuosic performance from Ryan Reynolds as a man whose pets command him to kill - which makes it all the more unfortunate that it seems to be so tonally inconsistent and confused. 34 mins

We thought we would mix it up a little by going for a film that started a trilogy (so far) of amazing films. A well animated well made fun film that all can enjoy. 41 mins

The Conjuring

One of the few bond movies to delve into bonds history, this movie is a great action movie from start to finish with some great story and acting. 42 mins

In 1990 Kevin Bacon stared in a movie which he believed at the time to be his career low. Tremors turned out to be a fantastic cult classic which is still loved to this day. 37 mins

A classic of its time, The Warriors had to contend with real gang violence during filming. Gang problems pursued the movie into the cinema with many gang going to watch the movie upon release and fighting other gangs inside the cinema.

Although this movie really hasn't aged well in certain aspects, it has stood the test of time to remain an action classic that can still be enjoyed today. 35 mins

Our first episode of 2017 proper, we've decided to tackle another difficult art film - this time, it's the English language debut of the acclaimed Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos, "The Lobster." A clinically observed, pitch-black comedy on the nature of monogamous relationships, we found it easy to admire but difficult to love. 37 mins

As a bit of a tribute to the late great David Bowie we are reviewing an iconic film of his, Labyrinth. A piece of puppetry genius the amount of background work to control and organise the huge cast of puppets is staggering. Also it is a bloody good film. 29 mins

Taking a break from the testosterone-fuelled insanity of The Warriors last week, we change things up with a rather earnest and sentimental comedy, albeit one livened up by Kevin Smith's trademark flair for vulgarity. We enjoyed Chasing Amy a lot, although some of its treatment of LGBT issues, which were perhaps more transgressive in 1997, now seem rather dated. 49 mins

I remember waiting eagerly for this movie to be released. What I watched was concentrated disappointment. There were some good moments in this film but as a whole I really didn't care for it. 39 mins

This week, at the request of Andrew's Dad, we take a look at Southpaw, the boxing film that set the internet all aquiver when it saw how shredded Jake Gyllenhaal had suddenly gotten. It's well-executed and compelling stuff, assuming you've never seen a boxing movie before (which, apparently, Daniel hasn't, so he was enthralled). 38 mins

Donald rejoins Daniel and Andrew once more for the epic conclusion to our epic trilogy of reviews of George Lucas' epic trilogy of prequels to his first epic trilogy of epic epics. Revenge of the Sith is broadly considered to be a step up from the films preceding it, and we all agree with that sentiment... although just how good "best of the prequels" is is the subject of some contention...

So in hindsight it turns out that Star Wars The Last Jedi is causing massive divisions in opinion. We recorded this before the fires of internet bickering really took off.This is our traditional Star War Christmas Special and it clocks in at a hefty 66 minutes long!

A movie that is said to be the inspiration for a generation of financial business men and women. Although very interesting it can be a little heavy handed with the business jargon at times but is otherwise very well done. 50 mins

In today's episode Andrew and I chat about the amusing Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito buddy film, Twins. A film that could clearly do with less tasteless backstory and more funny-pair hijinx. 32 mins

Released before either of us were born, this movie is still one of our most memorable childhood movies. That being said this movie is seriously intense for an infants film and if Don Bluth had his way it would have been even more horrific in places. 30 mins

Perhaps one of Pixar's most popular and best loved movies. Andrew and myself spend the next hour praising this movie. This is a long one at 1hr 4mins.

On this week's episode, we take a look at one of the all-time great remakes. The 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers does justice to, and arguably improves upon, the original Don Siegel classic, featuring stellar performances from a top notch cast and some of the creepiest ever sound design. 39 mins

On this week's episode, we're discussing Into The Wild, a feature based on a true story that won a lot of acclaim from critics and audiences alike back in 2007. Based on a couple of years in the life of Christopher McCandless, a young man who, in the early 90s, left behind a comfortable and plush lifestyle to wander the highways and byways of America. We found it intriguing, although maybe not as insightful into its subject as it sets out to be.

When a hoard of ferocious fire breathing dragons emerge from deep within the earth only King Leonidas, Batman and Rust Cohle can stop them. This to-the-point movie is full of massive plot holes but regardless is great to watch. 35 mins

Based off of the phase one marvel movies, The Avengers is a well balanced and thoroughly enjoyable movie. We are both looking forward to that sequel. 44 mins.

In only a short 32 year of life, Bruce Lee achived more than most. An enjoyable movie thats a little off with it's facts. Occasionally it tries a little too hard to make everything in his life one action filled adventure after another. 41 mins

When Ben Whittaker gets bored of retirement he joins an online fashion start-up as a senior intern. Jules Ostin is the person behind the start-up who is stretched beyond her limits. Watch as these two unlikely characters connect in this safe, clichéd, but thoroughly enjoyable film. 40 mins

In the wake of Mac and Devin go to High School, Andrew sought a way to exact his revenge on Daniel by means of a punishingly obtuse art film. His plans backfired when we both turned out to rather enjoy Upstream Colour's abstract narrative and challenging imagery. 44mins

Months back, we delved the darkest depths of the prequel trilogy - now we see fit to reward ourselves with another trio of podcasts on the original, good Star Wars trilogy in anticipation of Episode VII, beginning today with A New Hope! Donald rejoins us, muscling through the influence of heavy painkillers to add his voice to our enthusiasm. 45 mins

A fun movie and one of the first of it's kind. A live action and animation mix that has a interesting twisting story to it. It is a true tribute to the vast acting range of Bob Hoskins. 37 mins

There's a new Star Wars movie just now hitting theatres, and everyone's terribly excited about it. Well, we watched the seventh Star Wars feature film, and we all agreed it's garbage - deplorably crass, mercenary bullshit that plumbs depths of pointlessness even the prequel trilogy never fathomed. We dare you to disagree. 52 mins

I stumbled upon this movie many years ago and although it has a few redeeming features overall it's a bad movie. It centres around a group of three friends who go of on a wacky adventure to find some lost treasure. One can't get a girlfriend, one can't keep a girlfriend, and one can't let go of his youth. Watch as only two out of the three character arcs actually get resolved throughout this rubbish film. 25 mins

After they met and realised they shared a passion for the story of Flame and Citron, they spent years researching these WW2 resistance heroes to create this wonderful film.

A childhood favourite of mine, I hoped Andrew would see through it (fairly large) faults. A very simple movie with a fairly simple story. What you see is what you get in this case. 35 mins

Don't get me wrong, this movie isn't very good but from it came one very good outcome, The Science and Entertainment Exchange. This is a board designed to foster collaborations between scientists and the entertainment industry and although the core wasn't solely responsible for it's creation, it is one the main culprits.

Other than that this movie wasn't too bad. It's your basic disaster/end-of-the-world movie but underground instead of space. 31mins

This was a bit of a longer episode than normal, mostly because it's hard to shut Donald up about this film. Bone Tomahawk, a dark and violent horror western that maybe goes too far trying to shock the audience but still delivers solid acting and a simple but well written story. 58 mins

Not sure what I was expecting but this wan't it. A very powerful and rather bleak look at the War on Drugs. This film is about a principled FBI agent who is enlisted by a government task force to bring down the leader of a powerful and brutal Mexican Drug Cartel. Dragon Inn (1967)

Cleaning out the 2023 backlog we have a very unusual film suggested by Andrew. One of the early Wuxia films, they were clearly still finding their feet in many aspects. That aside it is a thoroughly enjoyable film if you are aware of its very rough edges. 34 mins

Following a run of episodes devoted to films we've both rather enjoyed, we thought it was high time we saw a film with no significant redeeming features for us both to get good and grouchy at as a pallette-cleanser. What's that you say? A sleazy, sordid little crime thriller starring Nic Cage from the director of Batman and Robin? Don't mind if we do! 40mins

Today's movie is fantasic and loved by both of us; it does have a couple of questionable scenes around the start though. 39 mins

If you go to pretty much any popular list like "100 greatest movies" or "Movies to watch before you die", you are fairly likely to find this movie in the top 10.

This film is incredibly popular and for good reason too. An entrancing story, wonderful characters, and brilliant cast is topped of by narration by Morgan Freeman himself. What more can you really need in a film? 44 mins

In the year and a half that Andrew and I have been running this show I believe that this film is one of the worst things we have ever had to watch. It is boring, offensive, uninteresting and complete garbage. This movie has so much wrong with it that we honestly didn't even know where to start tearing this movie apart. The bar for worst movie has been lower so far by this movie that I believe it will be a long time before another film even comes close to it. 40 mins

Both Andrew and I were pretty big fans of this movie when we were younger. That made the disappointment all the worse during the revisit to this childhood favourite. It's still ok in places but overall it isn't as good as we remembered. 39 mins

On our sudden Jim Henson themed run we look at the rather odd and not particularly great "The Dark Crystal".  One of the first all-puppet-no-people films to hit the big screen. While it does have some good points they are seriously overshadowed by some major failings throughout. 26 mins

A movie that was a fairly big sucess with both critics and the general public, H.G. Wells's book has been adapted before for the big screen.

This time Tom Cruise leads the way with (in my opinion) two of the most annoying child roles in cinema history. 46 mins
