00:50:51
What can the 200th anniversary of Independence Day teach us about the 247th?
#812: Week in Review: France on Fire, Germany’s Far Right Rises, Mutiny in Russia
00:56:31
Violent undercurrents are becoming more obvious throughout Europe: France is experiencing unbridled riots, and Germany’s far-right party won an election.
China is contributing to America’s fentanyl crisis as it works to destabilize the U.S.
Israel’s prime minister campaigned on promises to rein in the rogue Supreme Court, and yet he is capitulating to the leftists.
Georgia admits the Dominion voting machines were vulnerable in the last two elections—and yet it doesn’t plan to update the software until after the 2024 election.
And our panel discussion is about the short-lived mutiny in Russia.
For many around the world, “empire” has become a dirty word, a part of history that is regrettable and shameful. But in the European Union, many leaders cherish the legacy of the Holy Roman Empire, and they’re determined to revive it.
The movie Sound of Freedom chronicles efforts to save children from sex-trafficking rings in Colombia. It is taking over box offices, playing in thousands of theaters, and making millions of dollars. Yet instead of applauding this film for exposing the truth about this very real issue, the corporate media is insisting the movie overdramatizes child exploitation.
This episode also examines Russia’s increasingly famous Wagner mercenary group. Since the group’s future is in doubt following its aborted mutiny last month, it may soon lose influence in certain African nations. This could open the way for other players to take on a greater role in those nations.
Our Last Word is about an event from this week in history that was truly out of this world.
#819: Week in Review: Chinese Gear, Court Controversy, Anniversary of Korean War
00:59:18
China has sent Russia hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of military equipment this year.
A coup in Niger this week upset Germany’s plans in North Africa.
Israel’s Supreme Court agreed to hear a petition to strike down a Basic Law, which would create a fierce controversy between the government and the court.
Former President Barack Obama released a letter this week supporting sexually explicit books in school libraries.
And our panel discussion is about the celebrations this week that marked the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War, a reminder that America has won its last war.
#820: Some of Those Most Opposed to ‘Transitioning’ Are People Who Have Gone Through It
01:05:03
The LGBTQ movement wants to silence them—but it is hard to ignore the anguished opposition to “transitioning" among those who regret having tried it.
Meanwhile, the Canadian government is funding drag queen story time programs through subsidies and grants. Government-funded organizations such as libraries are often compelled to host such events due to the government money tied to them.
We also examine the whispers about a new Iran nuclear deal.
Our Last Word looks at the state of Christendom in the United States.
#824: Surviving South Africa, How Long Will You Be Free to Buy and Sell, Hamas in Gaza
00:39:13
Today’s episode presents a guide for how to stay safe, or at least stay alive, in one of the most dangerous countries on earth: South Africa.
We also examine our ability to buy and sell: the microeconomics of living in the modern world. It appears that our ability to exchange money for goods and services is not nearly as sure as we may think, as it comes under increasing threats.
The show also looks at the radical Islamist regime, Hamas, and how the group’s days in power in Gaza may be numbered.
The Last Word is about a method for good living that is applicable to us all.
#825: Week in Review: Trumpet Presents Gen. Michael Flynn
01:00:07
On Monday, the Philadelphia Trumpet will present “America in Crisis” at Armstrong Auditorium, with a special speaker: former Defense Intelligence Agency Director and National Security Advisor Gen. Michael Flynn.
In Asia, a foreign adversary to many nations is turning blue water into fortifications and steering the world toward war.
Germany is bringing a dangerous form of government into the 21st century.
We look at two counterintuitive developments in Iran.
More proof that January 6 was a setup.
And our panel discussion covers fifth-generation warfare.
As Arab nations consider softening their enmity against the only democracy in the Middle East, the United States government is doing all it can to help, right?
Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn spent two days visiting what he repeatedly called a “very special place,” the PCG headquarters campus in Edmond, Oklahoma. The general attended the finale of the Celtic Throne Irish dance production, before which he was the one receiving a standing ovation and after which he greeted the young dancers backstage, telling them with emotion, “You are inspiring this nation, and that’s something that we need right now. … Thank you very much, and thank you for your smiles.” He and his team dined with staff members and their families at Armstrong Auditorium that night before a whirl of activity on Monday. General Flynn, an avid swimmer, took advantage of the campus facilities, doing a poolside telephone interview with a local radio station before touring Imperial Academy, the PCG’s K-12 school, where he sat down with elementary students in their classrooms. He then recorded Part 1 and Part 2 of an interview with Trumpet Daily host Stephen Flurry (watch here), shared lunch with more staff members—taking time to chat with their children, walked across the road to give an extended lecture and question-and-answer session to Imperial middle- and high-schoolers, sat for a meet-and-greet and book signing with staff and college students, dined, then presented his “America in Crisis” lecture from the Philadelphia Trumpet to hundreds of members of the public at Armstrong Auditorium, followed by a question-and-answer session, book release and meet-and-greet that went into the evening.
#828: Turkey Moves Away From Russia and Toward Europe
00:56:44
Turkey has long been a close partner to Russia, but this year it began shifting dramatically away from Moscow and toward Europe. The move is changing the geopolitical balance and setting the stage for some remarkable future events.
A shift is underway in German society away from traditional values and toward a Babylonian kind of deviance, and the only political body ready to challenge it is the far-right Alternative für Deutschland. This is pulling the nation in two directions, creating conditions for a dramatic outcome.
This episode also looks at how research originally conducted partly by using fetal cell lines is now used to create over-the-counter and prescription drugs and other common products.
Our Last Word examines the value of studying the lives of great men and emulating what is admirable in them.

If mass horrors were happening in our lifetime, we would never allow it, we think. Turn your eyes to Xinjiang.

#832: Zimbabwe’s Stolen Elections, Tyre in Archaeology, and BRICS
00:48:56
Zimbabwe’s ruling party has rigged another election, and it’s going beyond that, normalizing election steals so the people will soon know only the ruling party. There are sobering lessons that the democracies and republics of the world should draw from this.
The city of Tyre features in Bible prophecy, and archaeology may be uncovering proof of its fulfillment.
The BRICS nations are dead set on closing the curtain on the U.S.-dominated economic order, and their numbers are dramatically growing.
The Last Word is about some of the Bible’s psalms that appear to have an unknown author. A closer look reveals that is not the case.
Human government, even in the free countries, is collapsing into a worldwide cataclysm. New laws, new spending, new candidates with new slogans and new ideas are not the answer. Are there any solutions big enough, fundamental enough and pure enough to actually place your hope in?
With the KPCG staff attending an observance regarding this very question, Trumpet Hour presents an imaginative leap forward into a revolutionary solution, from show creator Joel Hilliker.
After decades of explosive growth, the Chinese economy is dramatically slowing down. Some in the West who were worried about China’s global ambitions are breathing a sigh of relief. But the trend may be more a cause for concern.
In Canada, after years of Justin Trudeau’s gross mismanagement, the Conservatives are surging in the polls. But will getting rid of Trudeau really fix the nation? The root cause of Canada’s decline is not Marxist-leaning leaders.
Germany’s alt-right magazine Compact believes America’s “deep state” was involved in the Munich Oktoberfest Bombing. This is just the latest example of German forces portraying America as evil and whitewashing German history. The trend is reviving German nationalism.
The Last Word examines some lessons from the life of the biblical figure Mephibosheth.

#863: Educating Our Children (2015)
00:56:32
This Trumpet Hour, host Joel Hilliker leads a discussion on children. In Russia, Vladimir Putin is giving children as young as 5 years old military-patriotic education to prepare them to give their lives for their country. This gives insight into how Russia’s future will look when this generation comes to age. In the U.S., the Obama administration says our public schools are too strict and too disciplinarian. Trumpet Hour looks into what this administration is concerned about and what its extremely controversial solutions are.
Then the Trumpet Hour interviews two men who just finished directing a summer youth camp here in Edmond, Oklahoma—a camp that uses discipline in a positive way to get some wonderful results!
Finally, Joel Hilliker shares his own experience of a summer youth camp he attended as a teen and how it helped his relationship with his parents. All this on Trumpet Hour.

#865: January 16—God’s Miracle Day
00:54:38
Today we talk about January 16: God’s miracle day. God has emphasized this date over and again in recent decades.
This date points back to a man who fulfilled a vital role in preparing for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ—a man who restored all things, and who preached the true gospel of the Kingdom of God to all nations as a witness.
Jan. 16, 1986, marked a dramatic turning point in world events.
We also look at how many tragic curses have occurred on this date—and why they foreshadow even worse curses to come, as God tries to correct the nations out of His love for them.
Finally, we see how God has used this date to perform dramatic miracles for His Church, speaking through revelation and opening mighty doors of opportunity.

00:57:58
On today’s program, we cover the story of an unusual young man who served as a United States soldier in World War II. He read the Bible, and he believed the Sixth Commandment, Thou shalt not kill. He refused to pick up a gun. But he managed to get a job as a medic, and served in multiple actions in the Pacific theater.
This is a story of a man who overcame terrible opposition and persecution, but remained committed to trying to serve his fellow soldiers by tending to their wounds.
It’s a story of remarkable selflessness—and courage, both on the battlefield and off.
It’s the story of the only conscientious objector in America’s history who received the Congressional Medal of Honor.

#872: How Settled Is Climate Change Science?, Lessons From the Korean War, Experiencing a Nuclear Attack, and More (2017)
00:57:37
Donald Trump pulled America out of the Paris climate change agreement. Is this, as some people say, dooming Earth to climatic disaster? The scientific consensus on how much human activity is affecting the climate isn’t nearly as unanimous as people would have us believe. Evidence shows the governments pushing for environmental regulations have another agenda.
Why is North Korea so anti-American? One source says that it’s at least partly because of the way America fought the Korean War back in the 1950s. We’ll talk to a man who says no, that’s exactly the wrong lesson to take from that history.
North Korea is one nation putting nuclear proliferation into the headlines. What would it be like to experience a nuclear attack? We’ll study some firsthand accounts of the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to give us an idea.
And I’ll finish off the program with a poem from one of our listeners on the trials of maintaining good posture.

[33:01] Who Governs Americans? The idea of America is that human beings govern themselves by electing representatives to office. What happens if and when the officeholders are no longer elected? America Under Attack
It’s common today to think that freedom means being able to do whatever you want without consequences. But that is a false and very destructive idea that actually leads many, many people into slavery.
God’s view of freedom is very different, and is illustrated by the biblical history of His freeing the ancient nation of Israel from slavery in Egypt. He used miracles to break them free from bondage, and then gave them His law, called “the perfect law of liberty.”
We talk about how you can identify the areas in your life that bring you into bondage, and the radical action that may be required to break free of that bondage.

#880: Slavery Is a Modern Problem—Here Is the Solution (2018)
00:50:31
Today’s show is about slavery. It isn’t just an abominable relic of the past—it is a reality of today’s world. It is a scourge worth thinking about—because it affects millions of people in almost every country on Earth.
The painful reality is that you might personally be contributing to the problem! You have to understand why it happens—where the demand is that these slave traffickers are supplying.
You also need to know what God thinks about it—and develop His compassion for those suffering in slavery, and His anger toward those who perpetrate it.
We’ll also talk about ways that we ourselves can be held captive in slavery. Millions of people are captive to addictions—to drugs, alcohol, nicotine, food, gambling, pornography and other destructive habits. You may be captive in ways you do not recognize.
And just as surely as God wants to free those who are suffering in literal physical bondage, He wants to set you free as well.

#882: Pride in Our Power, America’s History in the Philippines, the Virtue of Hard Work, and More (2018)
00:56:05
A recent poll shows that younger generations of Americans have less patriotism than their elders. Half of Americans age 14 to 37 believe the United States is sexist and racist—nearly half say that “America is more racist than other countries.” One in 5 Millennials believes the American flag is “a sign of intolerance and hatred.” What happens when a people has such a toxic view of itself?
One episode of America’s history when it had pride in its power was its relationship with the Philippines. We’ll hear a report by staff member Gino Chi showing the benefits the Filipinos received from that relationship.
Hard work is necessary for success in many different aspects of life, and good work habits can unlock hidden power to build a healthy life!

#884: The Battle of Britain (2018)
00:51:47
Today we’re going to look at an important episode in history, when the survival of Western civilization was under threat.
In the summer of 1940, Germany was preparing to invade Britain by attacking Britain’s shipping capacity, pulverizing its coastal towns, crippling its Air Force, and demoralizing the British people. But the people of Britain would not be cowed. Led by Winston Churchill, they threw their hearts into the war effort and endured a punishing blitz on their capital city, London. And about a thousand of their young men flew in the Fighter Command of the Royal Air Force—and courageously, miraculously repelled the German Luftwaffe.
We’ll take some personal lessons from this inspiring history—about which Churchill said, “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”

The James Webb Space Telescope is just starting scientific operations, and it is already revealing startling truths that are undermining science’s best guesses about the origins of the universe.
For decades, America has been the primary guarantor of global security, which has brought prosperity to millions. This is changing now as China grows more belligerent in the South China Sea and beyond, threatening trade routes and shifting to a new era.

#890: What’s Wrong With Our Universities? (2019)
00:59:49
[1:27] What’s Wrong With Our Universities America’s colleges and universities are increasingly becoming incubators of leftism. Students are being taught about the universality of white supremacy, racial injustice and other radical ideas. The fruits of this indoctrination are being exposed as terribly destructive. We look at several recent examples of students demanding curriculum changes to amplify racial grievances and erase whiteness. We look closely at events on The Evergreen State College, where students took over the campus and turned it into an asylum run by the inmates. This trend shows how civilization itself is under threat. “Colleges Caving to Leftists” “Why the Trumpet Watches Moral Decline in Britain and America”

#894: The Fool Says There Is No God (2019)
00:58:33
Science and education almost universally teach that there is no Creator. Man and the material world and universe simply came about by blind, arbitrary natural forces. On today’s program, we explore where such thinking leads us as a society.
Without God, man is free to devise his own governments, his own social structures, his own ideas of right and wrong—his own morality.
He is also free to follow the whims of his own imagination—to dream up his own utopia—and to do whatever he deems necessary to fellow man, however horrifying, to implement that dream.
We look at philosophy and history, as well as the Bible and current events, to evaluate the outcomes and dangers of evolutionary thinking.

#896: What Are Our Public Schools Teaching Our Children? (2019)
00:58:20
The radicalization of public-school curricula is affecting more and more children in America and many other nations.
Educators are teaching the next generation leftist views that depict America as hate-filled and oppressive against people of color, and American history as genocidal. They are exalting wealth redistribution and socialism while condemning free markets. They are encouraging students to become environmental activists. They are teaching radical views about sexuality, normalizing transgenderism, gender fluidity and sexual experimentation.
These educators realize that implanting these concepts into young minds is an extraordinarily potent means of reshaping society.
We have a God-given responsibility as parents to serve as our children’s educators. We must counteract these trends in education by teaching our children truth, and morality, and history.

#899: The Heavens Declare God’s Glory (2021)
00:55:15
The James Webb Space Telescope is en route to its place in the heavens a million miles from Earth. This is the most impressive effort ever made to understand the cosmos and learn the secrets of the universe and its Creator.
NASA administrator Bill Nelson quoted Psalm 19: “The heavens declare the glory of God.” For centuries, scientists have studied creation to learn more about God. They viewed the natural world as evidence of the Creator, and the more we learn about it, the more we learn about God. Scientists study and follow precisely the laws that govern the physical world, whether or not they realize that this points back to the great Lawgiver. But more and more of them are acknowledging that scientific evidence does prove the existence of a great Designer and Creator.
Today we look at how the heavens declare the glory of God.

#902: Navigating Our Fake World (2023)
00:59:41
Fake news is not the only aspect of modern life that is fake. We look at evidence of deceit affecting politics, education, social media, food production and other arenas. Artificial intelligence is making it easier to cheat. What are some reasons for the increase in fakery?
Climate activists say real meat hurts the environment, so food scientists are creating plant-based meat, and now, lab-grown meat. Is this fake food healthy?
Canada’s military is in crisis. Obsolete equipment, low recruitment and retention, low morale, poor leadership, and loss of identity and culture are all debilitating the forces. Fighting capability has taken second place to “woke” priorities like transgender awareness and battling climate change.
Our Last Word exposes another dimension to the danger behind modern society’s assault on truth.
