20 Apr 2022 | 3. How to Market and What to Charge When Transitioning to an Online Practice with Dr. Amber Lyda | 00:48:18
How do you create the time and income to free yourself up to live the life you want to live, while also remaining true to your service-oriented heart? In this eye-opening chat with self-professed neurotic adventurer Dr. Amber Lyda, we talk about how to raise your prices and market yourself, without feeling gross. Here’s why the “charge your worth” mantra is BS, and the traditional “bro marketing” isn’t what you need to do to get clients. If there’s one takeaway from this episode, it’s that building a business and life that works for you doesn’t mean you’re a “bad person” and creating a better income for yourself will only allow you to serve more. 01 Mar 2023 | Meet The Alumni - Part 1 | 00:53:42
I LOVE a great story of inspiration, impact and personal progress. Dr. Nat Green - Psychologist, Money Mindset Coach Previous to joining the Incubator she was a successful business owner of a multidisciplinary clinic. But she was unhappy and not confident. Her solution was to get into “perpetual student” mode - another degree, another course of study. The Incubator helped build her self confidence. She’s grown so much in 1 year that she has presented at successful business retreats and is now a bestselling author and been featured in Empower Magazine. Liana Harris - Psychologist & Women’s Mindset Coach During the Incubator Liana’s self confidence was completely transformed. She has launched her first course supporting young women and is getting great positive feedback about her coaching program. Hear her tell how she landed her first paying coaching clients. Alison Dougall - Psychologist, Mindfulness and Wellbeing Coach for women Before the Incubator Alison was going around in circles, not actually progressing and spending a lot of money on training. Her confidence has now soared, and she’s launched her first course supporting women, of which the proceeds support girls in Cambodia to stay in school and avoid the sex trafficking trade.

Welcome back to the latest installment of our VERY popular Unmasked Monthly Musing segment! In today's episode, we're exploring the power of bragging and celebrating success. Last month's episode sparked an overwhelming response, highlighting the need to create a safe space to discuss important industry issues. Let me share a transformative event that led to self-reflection. At a mastermind retreat focused on self-development, I encountered a phrase, "Well Bragged," that triggered me. It made me realize how societal conditioning discourages self-promotion and celebrating achievements. As therapists, we struggle with celebrating ourselves and each other. It's time to change that narrative. Let's foster a supportive and collaborative environment by bragging about each other's successes and building our identity capital. Here's a call to action:

11 Dec 2023 | But what if they hate me! Dealing with the fear of judgment | 00:28:25
In this recent "Therapist Rising" podcast episode, I recounted an incredible in-person event for the incubator that surpassed all my expectations. Gathering about 40 therapists in Sydney for an intense two-day session on business training, skills, and mindsets was a significant highlight. The unexpected Awards night turned emotional, bringing tears, joy, and a profound sense of accomplishment among all attendees. During my workshop presentation, I openly admitted that my new framework might not be perfect, asking for understanding and room for growth. Surprisingly, a therapist approached me afterward, expressing how empowering it was to receive permission to embrace imperfections. Reflecting on therapists' fear of judgment, I highlighted how professional standards and societal expectations intensify this fear. However, I encouraged reframing this fear as an opportunity for connection, relatability, and authenticity. It's important not to let a few negative comments overshadow the numerous positive responses when stepping into visibility. The key is acknowledging that visibility attracts both positive and negative attention while focusing on the impact of authenticity over the fear of judgment. Key Takeaways:
Let's rally around the idea that our imperfections, both in our profession and personal lives, are what make us truly unique and relatable. It's okay to show vulnerability; it's what connects us on a deeper level. So, let's ditch the fear of being judged and step confidently into the spotlight. By sharing our real, unfiltered experiences, we not only empower ourselves but also leave a lasting impact on our clients, communities, and the therapy field. It's our time to shine and inspire others to do the same!

07 Feb 2024 | [FEBRUARY MONTHLY MUSING] Building an Empire between Toilet Training and Cooking Dinner | 00:39:35
Hey there! Welcome to our 100th episode – what a milestone! Can you believe it? And what better way to mark this occasion than by delving into a topic that encapsulates the essence of what we've been talking about all along – navigating the wild ride of parenthood while building a thriving business. Now, let's first talk about something that's incredibly important: time. It's our most valuable asset, and yet, often our most limited resource. Building a business that respects and supports our time is absolutely crucial. Time is what allows us to be present with our families, to watch our children grow, and to cherish those precious moments. So, as we explore the journey of entrepreneurship amidst the chaos of everyday life, let's keep in mind the significance of building a business that aligns with our values and allows us the freedom to prioritize what truly matters – our time with loved ones.
Flexibility is Key: Let's start with the cornerstone of this whole endeavor – flexibility. From scheduling client calls to managing meltdowns, being able to adapt on the fly is an absolute game-changer. Crafting a business that bends and flexes with the demands of parenthood empowers us to prioritize what truly matters – our family. Importance of Support Systems: Next up, let's talk about the power of community. Whether it's rallying a team of rockstars in your business or finding solace in a tribe of fellow parent-entrepreneurs, having a support system is like having a safety net when life throws curveballs. It's all about leaning on each other and lifting each other up. Involving Family in Business: Now, this one's close to my heart. Involving my own family – including my son – in business discussions has been not only enlightening but downright heartwarming. It's opened up doors for meaningful conversations about making a difference in the world and showing our kids what's possible when passion meets purpose. Letting Go of Perfection: Ah, the elusive pursuit of perfection. Spoiler alert: it doesn't exist – especially not in the chaotic dance of parenting and entrepreneurship. Embracing imperfection, rolling with the punches, and practicing self-compassion are the true keys to sanity in this beautiful mess we call life. Prioritizing Self-Care: Last but certainly not least, let's talk about self-care. Because let's face it, we can't pour from an empty cup. Setting boundaries, managing our time wisely, and showing ourselves some much-needed love and compassion are non-negotiables on this wild ride.
