In case you missed it, during episode 87 the entirety of the old crew said their goodbyes as they road off into the sunset during their final episode. After a one week break, the podcast has returned and been reborn into something all new and entirely different than what it was before. This week in our first episode we dive into some news surrounding the Zelda U demo both at E3 as well as at Nintendo NY. We also briefly chat about GameStop's none prediction... predictions about potential NX sales over the first two years from launch. Our E3 hype podcast has arrived a bit later in the day today than originally planned, but we hope you find the episode worth the wait. In fact, we have a special bonus episode, something we call bonus talk, arriving later this week where we go over all the other press conferences and some thoughts about them. This time though for our main episode this week, it's all about Nintendo, Zelda U/NX, and our first ever betting special. My co-host Alfred and myself go head to head in a betting special that has some really high and naturally embarrassing stakes, dragging our guests this week (Darrin and Rabidluigi) into some intense E3 related questions to decide our fate. It's simply something you are not going to want to miss out on. In fact, later this week we'll be releasing a separate video of just our bets, that way you can salivate over them even more. Hey everyone and welcome to yet another special edition of the podcast, this time featuring three very special guests along with our host, Nathanial Rumphol-Janc, as we detail out our initial gameplay impressions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Those guests include Rod (Senior Editor for Zelda Informer), Zion (Former Zelda Informer Writer), and Eric (Best friend of Nathanial & behind the scenes helper). This is a unique bunch as it features three Zelda veterans... but also one person who has little Zelda experience and has never beaten a Zelda game. Thus you get the impressions of some self proclaimed "experts", along with a perspective of someone who previously wasn't really into Zelda games. Between all of us we ended up with 5 total playthroughs of the two available demos and there is a lot to talk about.

We've arrived at our first episode of the Zelda Informer Podcast after the whirlwind of information that hit us during E3 2016. There is a lot to go over, but before I get into what we cover this week I wanted to note that we do not talk about our E3 bets in this episode due to Alfred having internet issues and quite honestly due to my life being so busy I have not been able to compile the results just yet. That being said it's no surprise we're talking about Breath of the Wild and you honestly should be expecting us to talk a lot about this game each week as we get closer and closer to release, given that new news about the game is going to be trickled out over time. We also get to talk about the some interesting news in regards to the NX and a small tidbit on the future of the Zelda series after Breath of the Wild releases. We're back to our standard format, though if you are curious for more demo impressions be sure to check out last week's in person podcast.

This weeks podcast features yours truly, with our regular co-host Alfred back in his usual spot as a ZI Podcast first timer joins us. This weeks podcast finally gets to put to rest the seemingly endless gender debate, thanks in large part to Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto. Speaking from a very personal level with this, I am glad that this will be the last time this topic comes up on Zelda Informer. We also finally learn about and discuss the causes behind delays in Zelda game release dates. We had some fine fan topics this time around as well, but what is truly notable is the last segment of this week's podcast deals with our E3 Bets Results. Who won? You'll have to listen to find out! We're finally almost back to our regular schedule, though before we can get directly into the topics this week we do have a little score to settle in terms of our somewhat controversial tie in our E3 betting results. So we settle the score right off the bat with what I personally would describe as a come from behind, totally unexpected, victory. After those shenanigans we get back into our regular format. This week we talk about the leaked Hyrule Warriors DLC, Nintendo admitting that Zelda is in a rut, and how Eiji Aonuma wants to make even more multiplayer Zelda experiences. We also cover a few fan topics and discuss at length some some of the joy and frustration in a couple YouTubers being outed for some extremely shady stuff. This week on the Zelda Informer Podcast, Alfred makes a triumphant return to his co-hosting duties as our resident comic artist, Trey, and super fan Mason make appearances to discuss some unexpected NX leaks. With the NX leaks taking up a majority of the first half of the podcast, I wanted to reminded everyone of a rather amazing (and sad) story a fan shared with us and allowed us to share with all of you about how Nintendo is keeping a lost brother with someone special while playing Breath of the Wild. Speaking of Breath of the Wild, we only cover two fan topics this week, but that's because the topics sparked some great conversations around heart containers and potential DLC in the game. We round out the podcast in our typical fashion, as we briefly go over some of our favorite things from this past week, including some positive vibes from Pokemon GO, some good ol' Overwatch fun, and Alfred goes on to express his deep love for the Darksiders theory. Oh, we also have a somewhat exclusive nugget towards the end about a yet to be announced game. You'll have to listen to find out what that is! We're in the middle of July 2016, releasing our first podcast episode in a post Pokemon Go world. The game/app/phenomenon that has taken over the world can't even escape our podcast crew, but long before we talk about the sheer impact of a rather simplistic title, we get into a rather interesting debate about what makes a great boss fight in the Zelda series. Later on we talk about some fan topics that deal with speculation around the next great Zelda game, Breath of the Wild. There are a few other zany things going on as well this week, including the Zelda Dungeon Informer Marathon. You'll be able to start watching it right over on our twitch channel this Saturday. This week's audio podcast is back in the spotlight, as issues with our video version's audio has lead to a return to our audio version taking front and center. Of course, you can still watch our video version - just don't be surprised when the audio one is more in sync and contains an extra 10 minutes of content. Yeah, that's exactly why this is the version being featured this week! No worries, I'll be fixing the issues moving forward, but let's get right into this week's worth of podcast goodness. We discuss Eiji Aonuma's weird comments on darkness leading to scariness, plus some new patent information that backs recent NX rumors. This week on the ZI Podcast we dive deep into all of your burning topic suggestions. We had a huge swath of topic ideas from all over our fan base and we wanted to make sure we covered as many of them as we could. However, one particular topic about dungeons in Breath of the Wild ended up spinning off into one of the most interesting discussions we've ever had on the podcast about that game... how story will be presented in a world through a method few if any games have ever even attempted to do before. This conversation sprung up in large part thanks to our special guest this week, Damir Halilović. Damir is actually one of the original founding staff members of Zelda Informer on the whole, though his last days with us here came many years ago now. We also have our usual cast of characters, as in Alfred and yours truly.

We're back talking about NX rumors, but also possibly the most important conversation we've ever had about Zelda CD-i (to be fair, we don't really talk about that trilogy of games much in the first place). Why do we talk about them this week? Well, Nintendo could have shut those bad boys down if they wanted to. Of course, the previous week didn't go without an NX rumor or two. This week I take my first "break" from the podcast as Alfred takes the reigns with an absolutely stellar cast, including our Managing Editor Darrin. The special guests this week include NintenDaan and Macintyre Productions. We do not have a video version this week due to me taking a week off, but our audio version is fully loaded and edited in full by Alfred (for those unaware, I typically handle all the editing for all versions of the podcast). We briefly touch base on some of the Nintendo Direct announcements before quickly getting into NX and Sony talks with some nifty fan topics, including a great one about the direction of the future of the Zelda series.

I have made a triumphant return to the podcast after a one week hiatus to talk about the lasting legacy of the Wii U and why I am so frustrated with Nintendo's handling (or lack of handling) the NX information train. Our usual cohost Alfred is in the house as well as we are also joined by a brand new staff member at Zelda Informer, Daniel, along with Macintyre from Macintyre Productions. There is some audio flubs with Macintyre's stuff, though I did my best to make it understandable. The first 13 minutes features some low quality audio on his end, but then it magically corrects itself into some higher quality stuff, though I was unable to completely remove all of his background noise. If he's on again, I'll have to talk to him about how to improve that situation - but setting that aside we are highly appreciative of his presence this week. He always has something intelligent to add into any conversation about the Zelda series.

This week’s ZI Podcast features just Alfred and Nate as we get chance to cover some actual Zelda news, though it leads to discussion that feels as if things are being taken out of context. For those curious, the piece of news I am talking about deals with the official art for Breath of the Wild. We also looked at some comments about the bow and how that applies to Breath of the Wild.

This past week we also launched the ZD-i Forums with a giveaway and I personally started a brand new podcast called the NP Podcast, with our first episode covering our five favorite games on each of Nintendo’s platforms. It’s a bit of a different format from this cast, so why not give it a listen/watch?

In case you haven't heard, we're getting a three minute preview of the Nintendo NX on October 20th. Yeah, that's happening. So as is typical with a weekly podcast, massive news is hitting pretty much right after this bad boy is live. Crazy life we live huh? I give you one guess into what our major topic will be next week. One we simply can't ignore! That being said, this week it's Colin (from our old podcast) and Alfred joining Nate to talk about Walkthroughs and story in the Zelda series, specifically what they mean for the fan base at large. We apparently also chose the perfect week to not talk about NX - this may be the first podcast yet to barely breath a mention of it. Apparently that's some sort of omen. When we ignore something, it happens. We need to keep this in mind moving forward. Also for those audio only listeners - we didn't not do episode 20!
