20 Feb 2023 | S6 E1 | Why We Created The Worst Girl Gang Ever | 00:48:42
In this episode of The Worst Girl Gang Ever Hosts, Bex Gunn & Laura Buckingham talk to producer James Burtt about how The Worst Girl Gang Ever came to be! In their usual open and honest style, they discuss the origins of how a post on Facebook ended up becoming a movement and how - through their own experiences with miscarriage - they realised that creating a space for open, candid and caring conversation was so vital.
As the girls share in this episode, 1 in 4 women will be affected by miscarriage, infertility or baby loss, so this is not something that might have affected one of your friends, family, colleagues or loved one, but it almost certainly has. That's why it's important to create safe places where people can talk about their experiences and feel supported. Everyone's grief is important, and we can help each other to understand, cope and heal.

20 Apr 2025 | S9 E2 | What Your GP Didn’t Tell You about Unexplained Infertility | 00:37:36
If you're trying to conceive and have experienced recurrent miscarriage, unexplained infertility, or you're just desperate for answers your GP hasn’t given you, this episode is essential listening.
In this eye-opening mini-series edition of The Worst Girl Gang Ever, Bex and Laura welcome back fertility nutritionist Alison Hall to break down one of the most overlooked — but critical — factors in pregnancy outcomes: the vaginal microbiome.
💥 Did you know that up to 60% of second trimester miscarriages are linked to infection?
🧬 Or that many women with bacterial vaginosis (BV) have no symptoms at all, yet it can impact implantation and early pregnancy?
From Lactobacillus dominance to uterine microbiome testing, we deep dive into:
What the vaginal microbiome actually is (and why it's not just about “discharge”)
The link between microbial imbalances and recurrent pregnancy loss
The rise of uterine and seminal microbiome testing in fertility care
What fertility clinics and GPs still aren't telling you
How to access at-home tests for vaginal health (even without a doctor)
Natural vs medical treatments: probiotics, antibiotics, and the partner factor
Why nutrition, lifestyle, and environmental toxins** matter more than ever
Alison also shares her personal journey with baby loss, how it led her into the world of functional fertility medicine, and why “just eat well” advice barely scratches the surface.
🔬 Whether you're undergoing IVF, have experienced chemical pregnancies, or simply want to understand your body better, this episode is packed with science-backed insights, empathy, and our usual dose of “we say what others won’t” real talk.

10 Apr 2022 | S4, E15 - Bophanie and Ben - Recurrent miscarriage | 00:51:44
After experiencing two missed miscarriages, filmmaking couple Bophanie and Ben Lankester (@ben.lankester) decided to channel their trauma into something positive. Through their production company they approached Tommy’s with the idea for 'Who's Counting?', a short film telling the story of a couple who have to endure the emotional and physical trauma of successive losses before they can receive support. To create the film, Bophanie & Ben brought together a team of people affected - or close to those affected - by pregnancy and baby loss. The making of 'Who's Counting?' has led to Tommy's creating the 'Record of Loss', where parents who have experienced miscarriage are being encouraged to add their names to the database and be part of the very first attempt to count the number of miscarriages in the UK, in order to present the scale of the problem and change policy. Add your name to Tommy's Record of Loss - actions.tommys.org/a/record-of-loss Watch the film here: https://vimeo.com/654495916--------------------------------Thanks for listening to the podcast. 15 May 2022 | S4, E20 - Emma and Gabby @bigfatnegative | 00:41:58
Journalists and friends, Emma Haslett and Gabby Griffith, started the Big Fat Negative podcast in 2018 when they were struggling to conceive. Over 100 episodes in, they’ve recently published their book of the same name - an essential guide to infertility, IVF and the trials of trying for a baby. You can follow them on instagram, listen to the pod and buy the book. We had great fun chatting to these legends and as well as talking us through their own infertility battles we covered all sorts of other topics from jumpsuits, animal poo, 'shoving things up your vag', unnecessary appendicectomies and cow impressions. It's solid gold top quality content, as always. --------------------------------Thanks for listening to the podcast. 12 Jun 2022 | S4, E24 - Lucy - Solo Mum By Choice | 00:36:10
Lucy lives in South Wales with her two fur babies. She made the decision to become a SMBC (solo mum by choice) in early 2021, after the breakdown of her relationship. She's had four rounds of IUI using donor sperm - two of which were successful but one sadly ended in a missed miscarriage just before Christmas 2021 and the other ended in a chemical pregnancy in February 2022. She is now mid way through her first IVF cycle now (June 2022). The loss of her pregnancies hit her harder than she ever thought possible and it was the first time on her path to motherhood that she ever truly felt alone, with no partner to support her in the darkest hours. She started her anonymous instagram account (@smbc_to_be) in August 2021 to document her journey. She has found it to be a huge source of hope, support and kindness through the best and worst of times. She is honest and open about all aspects of her TTC journey and really hopes that it helps someone on a similar path. If anyone wants to reach out with questions at any stage of their SMBC journey, she'd be really happy to help. The main source of support for her has been the Solo Mothers By Choice UK Facebook group. There is also The Stork and I Mum Tribe Facebook Group and 'The Stork and I' podcasts, hosted by Mel Johnson. For other amazing SMBC accounts for people to follow, we suggest people have a look through the accounts she follows on Instagram.

19 Jun 2022 | S4, E25 - Season Finale with Bex and Laura | 00:43:50
Well that's a wrap guys. Season 4 - we can't quite believe it. It's coming up for 2 years since we first set up TWGGE and we could never EVER have imagined that it would have taken off and reached so many people. It's so bittersweet because although we are managing to reach and support and hold the hands (virtually) of so many, of course it would amazing if there wasn't need for this kind of thing at all. Having said that, miscarriage and baby loss are not going anywhere BUT this once silenced community now have a voice and the taboo topic is being ripped open to allow people, WARRIORS, the space and platform to grieve and share. In this episode we both talk a bit about what has been going on in our lives over the last few months and there is A LOT to share. *no baby/pregnancy triggers --------------------------------Thanks for listening to the podcast. We throughly enjoyed this chat with Gen (they/them) and Gabs. This wonderful pair are sisters of one of our dear gang members, Georgie. It was Georgie who suggested this episode because she had found our bonus 'friends and family' episode from series 2 to be a great resource to send out to people supporting her through her experiences.
