I am beyond excited to be back and I am so looking forward to chatting about all things business and the wedding industry once again. We’re kicking off this 5th season by talking about the many hangover weddings that are still in play, climbing Kilimanjaro and even taking enquiries for 2026-2027 (crazy... right?). Alongside this, we also touch on the current state of the wedding industry in its busiest months and the normality that we hope is to come from the year 2023. But first, I would like to take a moment to really reflect on the summer so far. It's August, so a big pat on the back is due for reaching this milestone! But what I want to ask you, is what have you learnt this year? And what are you taking into the next epic season? So here we are at the final episode of Season 1! It feels like 2 minutes ago I sat down with my notebook to plan out the episodes and launch for this podcast. These 13 episodes have been jam packed with advice, information and support, so today I wanted to take the chance to recap on why I started the podcast and what I’ve learnt through this time. There’s been so many things that have been out of my control in this period, but I made the decision at the start of lockdown to go all in, on serving, helping and supporting the people around me. I chose to take action to move my business forward, and I know so many of you did too. I truly believe when you surround yourself with people who cheer you on and support you, it makes a huge huge difference and I’ve seen that more than ever through lockdown. So if I can leave you with anything from this series, it’s that the best way to grow your business is to find your people, show up consistently and serve them. It’s all about imagery so it hits the spot for me and while there are other social media platforms out there, Instagram is my favourite place to hang out and I know it is for lots of other people in the wedding industry too. The term ‘ideal client’ has become a bit of buzzword and you’ve probably heard people talk about how to ascertain your dream clients but before I help you identify them, I want you to understand why knowing who you want to speak to is such an important part of building your business. Getting to grips with your ideal client will play a huge part in building the success of your business. It will impact your content, your website, your social media, and it really is a foundational piece of your brand. You might find your ideal client is the opposite to the clients you’re booking right now, but by tweaking your business you can attract the clients that you will love working with, and love spending time with. You’ll have relationships with your clients based on their appreciation of your style, not cost, and that is so powerful. When I was planning these episodes several months back I didn't have this title in mind. However, things change and we have to evolve.
