We are switching gears today than the usual business chat to talk. Today I am talking about racism, health coaching & the impacts of cancel culture.

I will start by saying that I like to observe and learn before speaking on any particular topic. I don't think it's responsible to consume and teach without integrating first. I don’t believe in performance activism and posting something to just post it.

That said, I am still learning.

- is cancel culture the right move?

I am a work in process and I’m striving to learn from as many people as possible, including from myself! Part of doing the work is looking inward as well.

Today is a quick bonus episode. I want to bring up something that’s been on my mind and something that I wasn't actually sure if I was going to share. I had to marinated on it for a little bit, but in the end, I do think it's important to speak up about this.

I want to talk about all the labelling happening, the shaming and the cancel culture taking place. The world has become a digital equivalent of an angry mob with torches and pitchforks running people out of town, or in this case, the internet.

Let’s talk about CENSORSHIP in health & wellness right now.

I haven’t spoken much on this topic yet but I have been very aware of the disturbing censorship on social media that has been happening over the past couple of months..

I have been aware of the shaming, the name calling and the dismissing that is happening in the comments. I have watched people at each other's throats, unwilling to hear any other point of view. I have watched mentor after mentor be banned, disciplined and even de-platformed by the “social media powers that be.”

I have A LOT to say about censorship and I’m not holding back.

What do you do when a client unhappy with their coaching experience?

Yes, online courses are sexy, and many people make a TON of $$ with online courses. But, that doesn’t mean that an online course is the right choice for you.

DIY works when you want to replicate that Pinterest cake, but when it comes to business, DIY-ing typically doesn’t work.

The biggest mistake that I see new health coaches make is that they resist narrowing down and choosing a niche. Instead, they try to talk to everyone which leads to them being totally generic and honestly boring.

As my mentor, Sunny Lenarduzzi says, you have to niche down to blow up, and I couldn’t agree more. The longer you actually resist choosing an ideal client and finding your niche in business, the longer you are going to struggle to grow.

How do you REALLY feel about sharing online?
