We’re up to episode 49 and this time we’re joined by Rob Hitt. Rob was the drummer for New Jersey band Midtown who were one of the first successful bands of the Drive Thru Records movement. Rob talks us through his long career in music with some amazing achievements. We discuss Midtown’s rise in the early 2000s and what happened after that. During this time Rob started I Surrender Records, which he still runs today. With his label he has signed bands like Four Year Strong and Valencia. We discuss his life these days living in Brooklyn, life as a vegan in 2020, and how he started the viral Instagram and Twitter account for Bodega Cats. We are delighted to be joined by Cassadee Pope for episode 115. It's fair to say that Cassadee has had a fascinating career. We discuss her beginnings with the Warped Tour band Hey Monday and coming up in that scene. After Hey Monday disbanded, Cassadee entered The Voice in the US, which she ended up winning. This led to a successful career in the pop-country world. Most recently, she has embarked on a welcome return to pop punk. We dicuss all of this as well as what the future holds for her. Today we are joined by James Scarlett, organiser and band booker of 2000 Trees and ArcTanGent festivals. James talks about how 2000 Trees Festival was conceived by him and five friends back in 2006. They wanted to create a festival that had a great a community around it and was a pleasant one to attend. 2000 Trees was born in 2007 and has been going ever since, featuring artists like Frank Turner and Jimmy Eat World over the years. The festival will welcome headliners The Gaslight Anthem later this summer as well as other impressive names. James also co-hosts the podcast '2 Promoters, 1 Pod', which provides a great insight into what it is like being a successful promoter, be sure to give it a listen. For episode 47 we are joined by Kevin Truckenmiller who is best known for singing for the band Quietdrive. Based out of Minneapolis, Quietdrive have had an impressive career since forming in the early 2000s. Kevin tells us what is was like signing to a major label in their early days, including working with Butch Walker early on. We hear about the time will.i.am discovered their music in a Minneapolis studio and how their lives changed after achieving success in the music industry.

Nick came up playing in the successful bands Over It and Runner Runner, who sold a good number of records and toured extensively. We are joined by Kieran Kelly, one of the founders of Manchester Punk Festival. MPF has become a staple in the UK scene and is very much our version of Fest! Kieran talks us through how the festival came about and logistics of running it. MPF 2022 is the return of the festival after having to take a break during the pandemic, so we discuss this difficult time. Kieran is also in the band Throwing Stuff and runs promotions company Moving North, so there was plenty to cover! Manchester Punk Festival returns Friday 15th April 2022!
