The Epidemic of Chronic Disease Calls Ayurveda to the Rescue #004
00:51:08
Epidemics of chronic diseases are exponentially growing alongside our modern lifestyle.
Ayurveda has never been so relevant to humanity than right now. And what the 2017 Nobel Prize for Medicine was won for supports this, because it was won for “Circadian Medicine,” which is basically “Ayurveda 101” (living in tune with Nature’s circadian rhythms).
Half of the men reading this will get cancer in their life. 1 in 3 women will get cancer. Diabetes, auto-immune diseases, infertility, premature blindness, autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s and more are all rapidly taking over the bodies of our population
Two big culprits recently on the block are talked about: Excessive exposure to EMF (electro-magnetic fields) and blue light. Dylan shares ways to mitigate the effects of these, from very simple no-brainer adjustments to bigger steps to be more proactive in changing aspects of your life to take control of your health.
Dylan also shares basic principles and concepts of Ayurveda.
This is a recording of a talk Dylan did in February 2018 at Bondi Meditation Centre in Sydney, hosted by Matt Ringrose. It was so well received he had to share it with you...

IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS
Yashoda’s Story
Having many “births” in this lifetime
Being adopted, searching for birth parents and re-uniting with her birth mother.
Depression, suicide
The paradox of people looking like they got it all - good looks, money, famous, brought up in a good family, but feeling miserable on the inside.
Ture Fulfilment
Your life can change in any moment.
Yashoda’s spontaneous introduction into Vedic Meditation (VM).
Rapid healing from insomnia, depression and ADHD from VM.
Guru / Shishya (Student) Relationship
Fluctuating between various gurus and practices vs. maintaining a common thread and uniting all aspects of Yoga.
Generally it is advised to only have one guru since it is better to stay on one path to get to a destination (enlightenment) rather then moving between various paths (since all the paths lead to the same outcome).
Not mixing two different lineages, like a “fish milkshake,” but layering them.
Yashoda having two lineages and two gurus, which is unusual.
Yashoda’s 2 Main Gurus in her life:
Maharishi Thom Knoles - Like the sun, feeds you knowledge, corrects through knowledge.
Anand Mehrotra - Sharp like a sword that’s cutting through you, calls your out, corrects your intellect, slaps in your face.
Living with a Guru as a quantum leap in evolution.
Vedic parenting.
Observing Guru, nature and states of consciousness for evolution.
Laksmi / Abundance & Affluence
Living full value in life without “lack mentality”.
Laksmi sister is Saraswati (knowledge). You can’t have wealth and abundance without knowledge.
Choosing the higher value of behaviour over the lower value of behaviour.
Punya - our spiritual bank account.
Fundamental of Nature: What You Give you Will Receive
Experiment and play with the laws of nature.
“You Deserve the best." You are worthy.
Everything is energy. Whatever we give value to will have value.
Embody fearlessness. Laksmi is a non-stop moving river.
Sattva Yoga - Himalayan Tantra
Radical aliveness. Using the whole body to come alive in this pranic level.
Empowered Birthing, Doulas, Women's Business & The Role of Men in Birth | Nadine Richardson #023
00:56:25
IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS
What is a Doula - They play a significant role assisting women through the psychosomatic experience of birth.
Why every single woman should do a doula training. It is the primal role of woman. Assisting at births is an important rite for one’s womanhood, femininity and fulfilment.
Obstetrician in latin = “to observe.” Are they only observing or doing too much?
The Role of the Partner (Mostly Men) In Birth
Have we placed to much expectations on male partners?
Are men actually fit for the job of assisting a birthing experience? Let alone asked to be the primary! support person in an experience they have no knowledge of, what so ever!
Traditionally, birth has always been womens business. Men should were not to go anywhere near that.
It is ridiculous to send anyone in a birthing room without good education and preparation.
C-Section Pandemic
Causes for increasing C-section rates.
Why you want a vaginal delivery over C-section.
How to make a beautiful birth no matter what unfolds such as C-section, epidurals.
You cannot put your faith all the time in one system.
If you go into these systems without education, you will get funnelled down a conveyer belt, and that is where we get great amounts of intervention and dissatisfaction. Education is key to empowerment.
You need to be open minded and have a little element of belief that birth can be something different to the medicalised traumatic event that has been showed to you on television.
The post-natal hormonal orchestra that floods the mother brain.
The Brain-Uterus Connection (Via the Ferguson reflex and more).
The Vagina as the Seat as Consciousness.
Active birthing and why a woman should not be lying on her back during labour.
The important to rest after birth - simple and sacred - “40 days of rest for 40 years energy.” The fourth trimester.

Alchemising the Essence of Traditional Medicine | Dr. Jimi Wollumbin #007
01:28:19
Lets not only explore some of the gems, techniques and knowledge from a range of traditional medicine, but let’s cultivate capabilities to relate with the essence of these ancient lineages in order to heal using a more direct, holistic and powerful approach.
Set at the feet of Mt Wollumbin (Mt Warning) in the Northern Rivers of NSW at Jimi’s healing sanctuary, this interview explores traditional healing gems and techniques derived from a diverse catalogue of ancient lineages.
That is what Dr. Jimi has uniquely cultivated. An ability to cross-pollinate medical traditions then apply that in his clinic and teachings while maintaining professional sovereignty.
Jimi sheds insight into the root causes of disease by exploring deep and subtle primary wounds.
His approach is understanding and communing with the essence of a herb, a medical device, a body system, disease or a patient, in order to heal holistically. This is what makes a physician at the top of their game.
This interview is basically me picking Jimi’s brain on all cool things traditional medicine while he shares his philosophical views and approach. I also enquire about his journey of moving from tradition to tradition to cultivate his own flavour of healing while maintaining respect and authentic identity.
ABOUT DR. JIMI WOLLUMBIN
Whether he is presenting at the UN or at a village health co-operative in rural India, Jimi is always a highly engaging speaker, writer and educator. With 19 years clinical experience and almost as much in community development, Jimi combines his deep knowledge of holistic medicine with a passion for social causes and world health. As the social entrepreneur that founded One Health Organisation in 2005, he has since steered it to become the largest holistic and integrative healthcare NGO in the world - having distributed roughly 9 metric tonnes of medicine to hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged communities across the globe. Jimi’s private clients value his obvious passion for traditional medical practices and the way in which he combines aspects of the traditions of India, China, Tibet and Persia that continue to inspire him.

Exercise: The Ayurvedic View & Proper Exercise (Vyāyāmā) | Dylan Smith #112
00:31:15
What does true exercise actually look like?
How can we reap the maximum health benefits from our movement practice?
Beyond inflated six packs and good looks, although those physiological changes may manifest, the ancient Ayurvedic seers shared physiological benefits of proper exercise, and how to reap the results, all in the name of health.
They also shared how to do this without potentially damaging your physiology, as improper exercise is currently quite persistent in our modern day culture.
In fact, what a lot of people are practicing in the gyms today would be more appropriately referred to as “body-building” or increasing heart-rate and stressing the body out.

Shilajit Unveiled: The Myth, Magic, & Misuse of this Mountain Mineral Medicine | Dr Sumit Kesarkar & Vaidya Dr J.R. Raju #144
00:51:07
“There is no curable disease in the universe which has cannot be effectively cured by śilājatu, [but only] when administered at the appropriate time, in combination with suitable herbs and by adopting the prescribed protocol”. ~ Caraka Samhitā, authoritative classical Ayurveda text
I’m Dylan Smith, an Ayurveda practitioner and educator, and in case you have not heard of Shilajit, it is one of Ayurveda’s most revered herbal substances.
This potent, mineral-rich resin sourced from rocky mountains is rapidly gaining popularity in Western supplement markets for its purported energising and rejuvenating effects. In this episode, we aim to disrupt the growing fad of shilajit as a dietary supplement in wellness communities.
We’ll challenge the notion that shilajit—prized in Ayurveda for its potent healing properties—can be casually consumed. Much of what’s sold is adulterated or harvested improperly, and often lacks proper purification. We’ll explore essential Ayurvedic principles like correct dosage, the right vehicle (anupāna), and a tailored diet (pathya) to balance shilajit’s intense qualities and ensure safety and efficacy. When these elements are neglected, shilajit’s benefits can be lost—or even become harmful—underscoring the need for proper guidance in its use.
My guests include Dr. Sumit Kesarkar, who has spent over two decades harvesting shilajit indigenously across Asia, and the renowned Raju family of Ayurvedic doctors: Vaidya J.R. Raju, Vaidya Pavani Raju, and Vaidya Harsha Raju. Together, we’ll offer practical insights on sourcing authenticity, safe usage, and time-tested ways to honour shilajit’s role as a powerful rasayana.
IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS: 🏔️ Shilajit’s Geological Formations and Origin 🏔️ Understanding Shilajit as a Rasāyana (longevity elixir) In Ayurveda 🏔️ Shilajit's Health Benefits & Debunking the Overemphasis on Mineral Content 🏔️ Proper Purification of Shilajit (not common knowledge) 🏔️ Prevalence of Adulteration, Unsustainable & Improper Harvesting Methods 🏔️ Appropriate Dosage to Absorb the Benefits and Prevent Harm 🏔️ Diet & Protocol to Adhere to While Consuming Shilajit 🏔️ + more!

Why Honey Deserves a Place in Infant Care: Debunking the Honey Myth
00:20:42
For millennia, honey has been treasured across cultures as a symbol of nourishment and healing, particularly for infants. Yet in 1978, Western medicine abruptly deemed it unsafe for babies under one year old due to concerns about botulism. But was this ban truly justified, or did precaution overshadow ancient wisdom and emerging scientific insights?
While infant botulism is an extremely rare condition, modern research reveals that most cases stem from environmental spores, not honey consumption. Meanwhile, traditions spanning Egypt, Africa, and Ayurveda have safely incorporated honey into infant care for thousands of years. Ayurvedic texts even describe Swarna Prashana—a revered practice of giving gold-infused honey to newborns to enhance immunity, intellect, and vitality.
In this episode, we challenge the stigma around honey in paediatric care, exploring its rich history, scientific evidence, and time-tested applications. Whether you're a parent or health practitioner, this conversation will empower you to navigate infant nutrition with confidence and clarity.
