This is my mantra for 2022 and has guided my intention for 2022 which is: Find and seek the perfection in the present

This is a concept rooted in Buddhism and found in The Third Noble Truth (one of the 4 Noble Truths which summarise the main Buddhist Teachings). This concept can feel very abstract and we might struggle to see how this can apply to our day-to-day lives. I've been applying it concretely myself for the past few months and have been coaching my clients to do the same. The impact has been immense for them and both for myself, and this is what I'm sharing with you in this episode with concrete examples.

This is a slightly more personal episode where I'm sharing the 5 patterns I've overcome and the 3 patterns I'm working on at the moment. 

When I say "overcome" I don't mean these patterns don't sneak but up, they do, but through the integration of specific tools, frame of mind shifts and key lessons I've been able to move from a place where these patterns "take me over" (living in my unconscious) to a place where I am able to navigate them consciously.

In this episode I go through 4 concrete ways that you can change your patterns. No matter what kind of change you're trying create within you, whether it's an emotional state, a reaction, a habit or a behaviour that you find unhelpful - there are ways to create lasting change and in this episode I share 4 of them. 

  1. Understand WHY you want to make the change (dig deep until you reach a base emotion).
  2. Realise that the pattern you're trying to change is probably linked to a strength you have. Understand what is the corresponding strength and notice where the bell curve drops off and the strength turns into a negative pattern. 
  3. Exercise: write a letter to your future self, after you have confronted a moment that will challenge the change you're trying to create. Write this letter as though your future self, who has overcome this challenge, is writing to your current self who has not yet gone through the challenge.
  4. Create a new default, a new pattern that will come to replace the one you currently have.

In today's episode we are taking a real-life client concern and I share how we actually went about this situation in a coaching call. She came to me because she felt like she was acting "small" at work and letting her insecurities get in the way of showing up as her full, knowledgable self.
