With so many business resources online, it’s reasonable to rely on the outside world to make decisions and navigate our entrepreneurial journey. However, in doing so, we run the risk of ignoring a more profound resource - our intuition.
Using your intuition is good for making decisions, especially for making the right ones.

She explains the difference between emotions and intuition, how to recognize these differences and why one may interfere with business efficiency whilst the other improves it. For anyone who wants to learn more, this chat with Cath will help you expand your inner world to make better business decisions.

23 Aug 2021 | TN232: The simple thing solo entrepreneurs can do to support gender diversity and non-binary people – with Cath Brew | 00:47:57
You might have noticed on social media that more and more people are declaring their gender/sex on their bio, profiles or even email signatures. Have you wondered what is the reasoning behind that or whether you should do it or not? I was in that space too when my friend Cath Brew helped me make the decision to pro-actively bring up this topic and declare my pronoun on all my profiles. Indeed, I truly believe that as solo entrepreneurs, we can make a real impact for marginalized people and should proactively look at how we show up to create a more inclusive world. "Having the choice as entrepreneurs to acknowledge gender expansive people or not is by itself a privilege." In this episode, Cath will answer all the uncomfortable questions we do not dare to ask around the topic of non-binary and gender expansive people so that you can take action without worrying about doing or saying the wrong thing. Cath Brew illustrates and educates about marginalized experiences for positive change - with a focus on identity, belonging and expat life. 01 Mar 2021 | TN207: What is in your control to convert prospects into clients? | 00:24:57
So many solo-entrepreneurs struggle with the idea of selling their products and services. It feels uncomfortable and slimy because we have a big misconception about sales being about manipulating or controlling our customers. Here is a huge secret that many solo-entrepreneurs still do not know - you cannot control whether someone’s decision to buy your product or service. Once you understand that, you can start to focus on what you can control to create the best possible environment for sales to happen. "To convert prospects into customers, you need to sell the solution to their problem, not your product or service." In this week’s episode, I am sharing what you can do to convert prospects to customers, and I promise, it will change how you feel about sales forever! This is the final part of a three-part series based on my 3C™ system for building a successful portable business.

08 Mar 2021 | TN208: The process vs the journey – disrupting the status quo – With Lindy Chapman | 00:39:01
For so many of us who have a passionate belief in changing the status quo, knowing where to start and how to get started is the biggest challenge! Sometimes, the most important part of turning your dream of making a difference into reality is just to start somewhere! While having a great process for building your business or driving change is important, you also have to start and trust that the journey will take you where you need to be. My guest this week is passionate about changing the real estate and relocation industry. Lindy Chapman has an amazing story to share. Despite being told it couldn’t be done, she is proof that when you make a start and trust your dream, amazing things can happen! "Podcasting is an amazing way to connect and build an authentic relationship with your audience." Following 20+ years as a relocation client supporting her husband's career, Lindy Chapman entered the real estate & relocation industry where she serves as a champion for those who move by challenging outdated processes that too often fail the consumer. Through her podcast ReloTalk, she also seeks to bring relocation clients into the conversation in order to serve as part of the solution rather than a problem to be solved in the industry. Quickly after launching her podcast, the digital brokerage startup, Doss, based in Houston named her CEO of Social Agents, where she is building a team of real estate resource "Matchmakers" to support home buyers and sellers whether moving across town or to a new country. She also serves on the Advisory Board for Pivtapp.com, a social app for relocated employees and their families. Lindy is the mom of 4 young adults scattered from NYC to San Francisco and she and her husband are passionate about helping marriages that move through their work with "The Significant Marriage." 16 May 2022 | TN263: Embracing the seasons of your business and well-being | 00:29:07
Wouldn’t it be great if you could have a business that brings you revenue, joy and fulfillment and not spend all your time working on it? Your business should be working for you, not the other way round! One of the great advantages of a portable business is that you can have a successful business that also allows you to take life at your pace and have time for the things that matter to you. In order to succeed in the long run, businesses should be clear about their purpose, their vision, their mission and their values. There are many important social causes in this world where businesses can make a huge impact by including them as part of their business model. Causes such as inclusion and diversity have been a major focus for many companies for decades , but I believe that we have reached a time where even small businesses can and should include social justice in their business model and the way they manage their day-to-day activities. You might say that if it is still a challenge for big corporate companies to implement real changes for inclusion and diversity, how can small business afford to do so? "You need to know what your big vision and purpose are if you want your business to last through challenges." To discuss this topic, I invited Ebere Akadiri who has extensive experience with this topic as a serial and social entrepreneur. Ebere Akadiri is an established leader and an advocate for women's leadership, diversity and inclusion. She is the founder and CEO of Rise and Lead Women – a platform dedicated to helping organizations drive the change towards building inclusive cultures that attract, retain and advance women into leadership. She mentors women entrepreneurs on how to build sustainable businesses with social impact objectives. She serves as a Board member for the BIEL (Beauty in Every Life) Foundation and is also the co-founder of Ataro Food and Spices, a West African food brand that is rapidly growing and experiencing global demand. This episode is recorded shortly after the murder of George Floyd, by Derek Chauvin, a white police officer. I felt deeply troubled to my core and had to ask myself how I wanted to show up. I realize that while I do not have all the answers, I can still use my voice to speak up. "Empathy is not enough" In this episode, I also wanted to discuss with you the inevitable question: where is the fine line between business and politics? But, this has nothing to do with politics. This is about human lives that are at stake. As a business owner, you are an important part of the society and you make the society what it is. So instead, I just decided to show up and simply share how I feel, even if I do not have all the answers yet. Resources And Inspiration:

In this episode, Kate and I are not going to talk about time management systems, but instead we will discuss how to set the right mental foundations to beat overwhelm. In fact, no tips, tricks or time hacking systems will help you become effective and reach your goals if you do not look deeper into your relationship with time. It is such an honor to host Kate Erickson who has been a great inspiration for me in my own journey to improve my productivity, along with her life and business partner John Lee Dumas. "Start asking yourself what your relationship with time is." Erin Long is an American and a certified speech therapist. She quit her job to join her husband who works for the US Foreign Service and went to live with her family on a global nomadic life through Mexico, Brazil, Serbia and Bosnia so far. 25 May 2020 | TN168 : Dual career couples & putting the business at the same level as the partner’s job – With Jennifer Petriglieri | 00:39:32
We often hear that being in a relationship requires tradeoffs and compromises. One of the most challenging compromises nowadays for most working couples around the world, and especially expat couples, is one partner giving up a successful career so that the other partner’s career can thrive. But does it really have to be this way? We know that in the long run this often leads to tensions in the relationship, causing resentment and loss of identity as well as financial vulnerability. Starting a portable business to allow the accompanying partner to also build a source of fulfillment and revenue on the move has been the foundation behind Tandem Nomads’ existence. However, for a business to succeed it needs real commitment. It often happens that expat partners cannot give their full attention to their business, especially when they have children, for the simple reason that they don’t have the right support system, but also because they do not feel supported by their own partner in this venture. In order to discuss these topics and bring you some guidance of how to deal with these dual career challenges, I invited Jennifer Petriglieri, the author of the book “Couples that Work”, a book on how dual-career couples can thrive in love and in work. She will share with you what she learned from interviewing more than 100 couples and her big tip on how to make your business a priority, even if you are not the main bread winner. "An expat job is not secure, your business is the backup plan of your family." Jennifer is the Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at INSEAD where she directs the Management Acceleration Program and the Women Leaders Program. She has been shortlisted for the Thinkers50 New Thinker and Talent Awards and named one of the world’s best 40 business school professors under 40 by Poets & Quants. Jennifer is British, married to an Italian husband - they met in Switzerland, lived in Boston and now in France. Therefore, Jennifer knows a lot about duals career couples that live the global nomadic lifestyle. What You Will Learn
