19 Aug 2021Brian Cullen & Sarah Mulvey - Singers Songwriters00:42:29

An Irishman and a Canadian girl walk into a bar and the rest is history…Brian Cullen and Sarah Mulvey are from two very different countries who met in a quaint bar in Nagoya, Japan. Music brought them together and they have met some cool cats along the way while creating albums.

Brian Cullen and Sarah Mulvey are long-term residents of Japan, a place they have called home since the '90's. While both are university instructors during the day, it's in the evening when they share their love of music, playing in venues in and around their city of Nagoya. Blending a bit of Brian's Celtic music roots with some 60's inspired folk, they've found a recipe for their own version of Jangle- Celtic Folk. With their long-term experiences in Japan, they have also created their own businesses that center's around the foreign community. Brian spearheads PAWS-International, a publishing house whose authors create English language materials for the university market in Japan. Sarah started her own guidance counselling and coaching service - The J'Expat Network - which provides assistance to English-speaking foreign women in Japan in the form of one-on-one sessions as well as workshops.
As a long-term foreign resident, it's her way of using her experience and background to assist other foreign women in the community who may be experiencing difficulties adapting to life in a new culture.

At the end of the day, the place you'll most likely find Brian and Sarah is in their living room, playing music and singing songs to their ever-patient cats.

You can find Brian and Sarah's album on Spotify and youtube.

04 Nov 2021Ken Sandulak - From Drug Abuse to Addiction councillor.01:11:22

Ken Sandulak’s childhood had a rocky start that led to drug abuse, quitting high school, issues with family and ultimately being homeless on the streets of Vancouver.  After being arrested, doing time and struggling he eventually got the help he needed at a treatment center called the “Last Door.”  In this program, Ken learned how to control his compulsions and support other recovering addicts. Eventually, Ken became a councillor in a drug and alcohol treatment facility in Vancouver and later in beautiful Chiang Mai, Thailand where he lives today.

Ken, along with the rest of the world is now waiting out the end of the Covid pandemic, so he can get back to helping people sort out their lives and recover from addiction.  Please note that some of the subject matter may be hard to listen to for someone living with an addiction. If you need help please reach out to your family, friends or a doctor.

Addiction comes in many forms and there is help out there, you are not alone.
