20 Feb 2021EP 007 | Thank You Plant Medicine: John Steiner's Story00:51:24

#ThankYouPlantMedicine is an annual global campaign designed to encourage people whose lives have been changed by plant medicine to share their stories of transformation and gratitude, and to help end the stigma around the use of psychedelics. We are honored to devote our next two episodes of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast to sharing our personal stories of how plant medicine has radically changed and enhanced our lives. On this week's podcast episode, John Steiner shares his story of healing his relationship with himself, and how finding harmony within has led to a good relationship with the rest of life.

21 Feb 2025EP 125 | Resist Through Joy00:42:46

In a world often overshadowed by crisis, uncertainty, and negativity, how do we find the strength to not only endure but thrive? We have a choice. We can fall in the abyss of despair, hopelessness, and pessimism. Or we can rise into a new worldview. Walk through the portal of fear and chaos into a new way of being and feeling and showing up. The plant medicine path has arrived to prepare us to be more resilient. To gather our power back to us. To do the work that is right here in front of us. The work of getting everything out of the way that doesn't vibrate in love and beauty and hope. Because it is our right and our responsibility to be joyful. To protect the vibration of innocence and purity and optimism. Of positivity and vision. What heals the world is choosing love over fear. Believing that you have the capacity to turn and face any storm, look it dead in the eye, and walk right into it. Because we are that strong, and LOVE is that big. JOY IS RESISTANCE.

26 Apr 2021EP 012 | Manifestation and Prayer00:47:48

Manifestation and Prayer: Two seemingly separate and unrelated spiritual practices that may even seem opposed or at odds with each other in today's modern world. In reality, manifestation and prayer are a super secret power duo that combine forces to bring about massive transformation and positive changes in our lives. This week on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we are unpacking the emotional baggage we may be carrying about both manifestation and prayer, and investigate where we get our agreements about what these things even are. We'll discuss each practice in detail, and go into the ways we get confused and even discouraged by thinking we are doing something wrong when we try to manifest things and it never works out.

We'll also talk about how many of us lose our connection with prayer through negative religious experiences, and how taking back this practice and using it in our own lives will amplify our experiences of well-being, healing, and wellness.

Our signature program - Psychedelic Integration Academy - is live. We designed this course to be a one stop shop to help anyone, with any experience level properly prepare for, navigate, and integrate their psychedelic experience.  If you are interested in learning more check out our website.

28 Jun 2021EP 014 | The Truth About Healing with Psychedelics00:29:03

This week on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're having a real honest talk about the truth about healing with psychedelics. After taking six weeks off to relocate our lives and work to Wimberley, Texas, just outside Austin, we're back and excited to take a deep dive into what "healing with psychedelics" actually means. How is the conventional Western healthcare system failing us? Why is healing with psychedelics is becoming a lifesaving healing modality for so many people who have been left behind and left in pain by the endless cycle of doctors, diagnoses, treatment plans, drugs, and symptom management? What does walking the spiritual path with sacred medicines as your guides really mean?

In this episode, Sinclair and John discuss...

  • The common and spiritual definitions of healing and psychedelics
  • Symptoms and how they are an effect of a source or cause further upstream
  • How shifting to working with plant medicines and psychedelics shifts your meaning of healing
  • The participatory requirement of working with plant medicines to look at what's being revealed and lean into it
  • The accepted paradigm that there is ALWAYS a physical or physiological cause to illness
  • That the source of illness and disease starts in the consciousness and spirit and manifests in our emotional, mental, and physical body from there
  • Why people are seeking help outside the for-profit healthcare system for chronic pain, chronic illness, over-medication and suffering without end
  • How plant medicines are sharing their ancient consciousness with us to help us live our purpose with more joy, love, and happiness
  • How psychedelics can show us the true nature and causes of our illnesses and dis-ease by reconnecting us to our true selves and returning us to our natural order and balance
  • When our spirits are high, anything is possible
  • Diagnoses, pharmaceutical drugs, commercials selling diseases, side effects, and more...
  • Treatment plans that require lifelong dependence on the provider and why this is not actually treatment
  • The truth about healing with psychedelics: Bringing the mystical experience into your everyday reality through sustainable spiritual integration practices
  • The many manifestations of spirituality and living a spiritual life, and how these practices support health, harmony, and well-being
  • Psychedelics are just the first step, taking action to align your life with your vision is where the real work is

04 Oct 2024EP 112 | Asheville is Not OK00:38:04

Hello from the heart of the apocalypse.

I am ok. I am safe and well with my partner Ian in Asheville.

We are the lucky ones. I am so grateful. So many are suffering. Struggling. Many are lost. Missing. Hundreds are dead.

Much of Appalachia is irreversibly decimated. Water is off throughout the city for the foreseeable future, so we've been without running water for over a week now. (We are on a boil advisory when it finally comes back on. They say it could be 4-6 weeks or longer.)

Asheville is not ok. Appalachia and Western North Carolina are not ok. It is worse than you think. It is unspeakable. It is not over. This is just the beginning.

We are asking anyone who has a prayer you want to send with us for our beloved Appalachia to please send it to me via email at hello@sinclairfleetwood.com. We are making prayer ties to take to our upcoming gathering to put in the sacred fire.

Anything you want to say thank you for, to release, to pray for, anyone who needs to send a message to the Great Mystery, please let us know.

If you want to help in the short term, donate to my Venmo @sinclairfleetwood, last 4 digits 5205

There are many great orgs in AVL you can donate to, AND giving money directly to people who live here is awesome. If you know an Appalachian, and have the means, send them some dough. Any amount helps.

I love you family. I love you Asheville. We will rise again.

WORK WITH ME

27 Feb 2025EP 126 | The Ancient Technology of Ceremony00:46:20

There are a lot of ways you can work with psychedelics. From a clinical session with a therapist, to a solo trip out in nature, to journeying with friends, to going to a full immersion retreat in the Amazon, and everything in between.

And while all paths are valid, all experiences are powerful, and all the ways are good ways – there is nothing more powerful, potent, and catalytic for deep, lasting change than ceremonial medicine containers.

Healing is amplified in community. When you are witnessed, held, and trust your fellow seekers to walk alongside you. When you open your heart and soul to experience the dance of medicine and music (because which is which, am I right?)

When you allow yourself to walk into a sacred circle and come into relationship with the elemental essence of life. Water, air, earth, and fire.

Ceremony belongs to you. It belongs to everyone. Humans developed this technology over thousands of years in line with the best understandings of medicine carriers over generations. And it is a technology, just like we think of computers and lasers and AI as cutting edge.

This is organic edge. Mystical and practical. It’s a portal where literal magic is created. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself.

01 Jun 2023EP 058 | TRUE CLIENT STORY: Transforming Bulimia and PTSD with Cindy00:53:59

My client Cindy is not who you would expect to be on the path of healing with psychedelics. She's retired, and lives a tranquil life with her husband and puppy dog, teaching yoga by donation in support of local cancer patients. She's a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loves to hold gatherings and be the nurturer and rock for her friends and family. On the outside, Cindy has a beautiful, full life full of family, abundance, and blessings. But inside, she was carrying a dark secret. When I met her last year, Cindy had been struggling with disordered eating, bulimia, alcohol, and self-harming behaviors for decades. She suffered from PTSD sustained as a result of childhood abuse. And while she looked like everything was perfect, she came to me ready to do the deep inner work of finding self-love and healing her trauma so that she could remember her own power and be truly present for herself and her family.

In this episode, Sinclair and Cindy talk about:

  • How Cindy found her path to integration through this show

  • Trusting the process, letting go of expectations, less doing, more being
  • The privilege of sitting with medicines

  • No longer carrying around guilt and shame in her body, feeling angry and expressing it
  • Forgiveness for those who did harm to her
  • Feeling unapologetically authentic

30 Aug 2024EP 108 | Taking Off the Mask00:47:55

We are done with the masks. We are done with pretending to be white bread, milquetoast, mediocre, grayscale, asleep people. We refuse to accept and conform to such limited belief systems. Such mundane, rule filled civilizations based on extraction and competition and consumption. Such boring and sad standards of beauty. The crushing despair of conformity and sameness. We refuse mediocrity.

So how do you help yourself feel safe to take off the mask and let your freak flag fly in a world that has punished you for being you?

What can plant medicine show you about how to be truly authentic? Not just in the way your ego expresses, but by being a hollow bone open to being filled by Spirit...

Are you willing to let go of your expectations? Your identities? Your attachments? What are you willing to offer to Source to be truly free?

In this week's episode, we're going to explore the spectrum of authenticity, how to unmask yourself, and what it means to go on the integrative ride of your life. Learn how you can change the world by being your fullest, most connected self, all with plant medicine as your loving guide.

25 Nov 2023EP 077 | The Holidays, Overdoing it, and Not Enoughness00:51:07

What do the holidays, overdoing it, and not enoughness have in common? An undercurrent of needing to be perfect, do it right, impress your friends and family, and make things nice. Because that's how you've always done it. But when you start following a spiritual path and questioning the origins of these customs and traditions we follow, you might be like me and start wondering, "Why am I trying so fucking hard?" In this episode I share about a big fat epiphany I had yesterday after eating too much Thanksgiving food, and I explore the details of what it looks like to do spiritual healing on yourself in real time. We are not doomed to keep repeating our mistakes. We have the power to change the things we want to change, and to investigate these protective coping mechanisms and find something softer and more beneficial. Let's let go of striving and efforting and not enoughness this holiday season and let it be easy.

11 Feb 2022EP 021 | Why We Love Plant Medicine Retreats00:41:41

We've been getting loads of questions lately about HOW to sit with psychedelics and plant medicines. On this episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're unpacking all the different ways you can meet sacred medicines and why we LOVE plant medicine retreats. Plant medicine retreats, particularly with ayahuasca and San Pedro, are our preferred and recommended way to go deep into yourself and explore the things that are holding you back from having the life you truly want and deserve. An ayahuasca retreat with sacred medicines can make the difference between just having a visual, psychedelic experience, and actually getting a vision for your life. Today we're going to explain how and why plant medicine retreats work.

Our personal and professional recommendation for an affordable, powerful healing plant medicine retreat experience is Hayulima Spiritual Sanctuary. This is the home of our medicine family in Ecuador that we continue to work with and learn from. They are our friends and teachers, and we would not be doing this work without their inspiration, support, and love. Our gratitude to them is great, and we are excited about the beautiful spiritual home they are building together in Mindo.

In this episode, John and Sinclair share about...

  • The different containers for having a psychedelic experience and why we prefer working with elders in a ceremony with sacred plant medicines in a retreat setting
  • The path to working with medicines on your own is difficult and often long
  • Why plant medicine retreats are so healing and powerful
  • The two categories of entheogenic or psychedelic compounds: Synthetic Compounds (LSD, Ketamine, 2CB, MDMA, Mescaline, Psilocybin, DMT, etc.) and Earth Medicines (San Pedro, Ayahuasca, Iboga, Peyote, Psychoactive Mushrooms, Bufo, Yopo)
  • Why we prefer to work with Earth Medicines, and the difference between taking a synthetic compound and a plant, fungus, or Earth medicine
  • Start where you are - what's accessible, what's available, what's affordable, what's close is often how many paths begin. Doing the work you need to do with what you have is valid and okay!
  • The benefits of sitting in a circle with elders who carry an unbroken tradition from our ancestors
  • It's not just about our own human healing, but our relationship with the Earth, the water, our environment and sitting with shamans allows you to receive this living wisdom
  • Receiving the wisdom of thousands of voices and thousands of years in addition to having the spirit of the plants with you is the most powerful experience
  • Being reminded by teachers who live close to the land and walk the spirit dimension has been key to finding a vision for our lives
  • Medicine is everywhere: the music, the songs, the land, the animals, the spirits, the people in your retreat, the fire, the people holding space for you and caring for you, the sweat lodge, the teepee, the maloka are medicine... Retreating from everyday life is medicine.
  • Going out of your comfort zone so you can break the cycle of the heavy vibration that pervades our culture
  • Why coming to plant medicines is a calling - YOU are being called
  • Going into a place with a different worldview enhances your ability to change your way of thinking and receive the medicine
  • Why Latin America feels so alive and vibrant and wild, and how our hearts respond to that
  • Healing is taking responsibility for yourself, but you have to be ready and willing to do the work

28 Apr 2023EP 054 | Accessing Your Inner Healer with Heather Shelton, Cannabis Nurse Herbalist01:20:23

Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, Sinclair interviews Heather Shelton, RN, BSA founder of Herbsong Farm, and a registered nurse herbalist who has worked with botanical medicine for over two decades. She came to plant medicine in desperation to save her life, having tried everything Western medicine had to offer. She suffered from significant depression for several years, with persistent anxiety on the side to boot. What she found was way more than treatment – it was a path back to herself, and an open door to all she could ever have hoped life could be.

Heather blends her intuitive plant wisdom and traditional nursing experience to offer a unique holistic approach to care. She supports people on their health journeys using herbs, cannabis, nutrition, and lifestyle changes. Heather also offers an online herbal apprenticeship, and has spoken about cannabis and psychedelics at many conferences around the country. She is currently an instructor for psilocybin facilitators in Oregon, a member of United Plant Savers, the International Association of Psychedelic Nurses, the Cannabis Nurses Network, and the American Cannabis Nurse Association, where she serves on multiple committees.

09 Aug 2024EP 107 | It's Time to Stop Complaining00:49:21

Do you feel bogged down by negativity and struggle from the moment your eyes pop open in the morning? Do you find it difficult to move your attention away from pain and suffering and everything that sucks? Does "reality" feel like a terrible place where bad things keep happening?

In this episode, I invite you to examine the role of complaining and giving voice and energy to the vibration of scarcity and lack that may be pervading your life.

What would happen if you stopped yourself from complaining? What kind of energy and life force would be freed up to shit your focus to other things? Could complaining be the reason why you feel like your creativity and curiosity are limping along?

Complaining is like being stuck in a hole and refusing to stop digging. Every day is a gift. And everything that is coming into your life in every moment is here to teach you something. To help grow you. Expand you. Let's talk about it.

30 Aug 2022EP 034 | Chris Lamanna, Plant Medicine Facilitator00:57:48

Chris Lamanna is a plant medicine facilitator, somatic practitioner, and good friend of ours who we had the honor of getting to know and work alongside as managers of an ayahuasca retreat center in Ecuador.

Chris discovered psychedelics and entheogens after a somewhat troubled youth that persisted into early adulthood. After a handful of profound psychedelic experiences both heavenly and hellish, he found his way to the Peruvian jungle to drink Ayahuasca.

In today's episode, Chris shares about overcoming a traumatic event with mushrooms where he was assaulted by police and left to spend the rest of his trip in the hospital. Ultimately, it was this experience that awakened him to the possibilities of healing and growth with medicines. And led him on a lifelong quest to connect with the traditions and teachings that give true power to plant medicine work.

Since that first ceremony, he has spent a considerable amount of time exploring psychedelics, plant medicines and indigenous healing practices in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, as well as his home in Detroit, Michigan. Chris also studies traditions and practices from a variety of other sources from around the world. He is a true spiritual seeker on an ever expanding path of growth and learning as a facilitator and psychedelic visionary. His hope is to be a resource for others on the path of healing and self-exploration.

14 Oct 2022EP 037 | People Pleasing, Empathy, and Boundaries00:46:53

What are some common personality traits that people with anxiety, chronic pain, and chronic illness share? You guessed it... People pleasing, empathy without boundaries, perfectionism, self-sacrifice, low self-worth, and more. Turns out taking on stuff that isn't yours and seeking validation and worth outside yourself can manifest as all kinds of illnesses and coping behaviors over time. Plus, it doesn't feel good to always put your needs behind someone else's. You deserve to feel safe and whole within yourself, and these are simply ways that we learn to protect ourselves, cope, and exist in the world. Working with psychedelics can help you to see these in yourself, and find your way into more self-confidence and self-love.

In today's episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast,  Sinclair is digging into empathy, people pleasing, boundaries, codependency and more. We'll talk about how these protective behaviors develop and what the path to freedom looks like. It's time to normalize our trauma response so that we can arrive in a place of compassion and healing rather than shame and disappointment. Looking into yourself and offering love to whatever you find there is all part of the path of healing with plant medicines.

28 Jul 2022EP 031 | The Easy Magic of Meditation00:50:06

Can we talk about the easy magic of meditation? If you don't vibe with meditation, you might be thinking "Great. Meditation. AGAIN. When will people stop trying to force me to meditate?!?" Meditation is the practice people love to hate. And yet, out of everything we do and try and teach and share... Meditation is the base of the pyramid. It's the launchpad for everything we teach in our psychedelic integration containers. It's HOW we do literally everything in our own personal spiritual journeys. It is the way to stay connected to Source, and it is so NOT HARD!

If spirituality were a pizza, meditation would be the New York thin crust. What are you going to do with all those toppings without the CRUST?!? There's no delivery system. That's just a gloppy mess. And spirituality doesn't have to make you feel like you're stuck with a pile of toppings and no crust.

Meditation asks you to sit with your overactive mind and watch it. It nudges you into presence. It leads you into paying attention to and being in your body. Learning how to self-regulate with your breath. It shows you the way into a the role of being in charge of yourself and your attention. It enables you to put down all the distractions and be here now. It invites you to actually practice the presence you need to BE how you like to be in the world. As your aligned self.

We challenge anyone who believes that you can't meditate to give this episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast a listen and maybe let it be easy and give it another try! We'd love to hear how it goes, you can connect with us here: https://mysticalheartcollective.com/contact

29 Mar 2021EP 011 | Minimum Effective Dose, Microdosing, and Ego Death01:04:34

Have you ever wondered "How much plant medicine should I take?" Trying to figure out the right amount of medicine to take to have the experience you are seeking can be overwhelming and daunting. But don't worry, there is actually a smart, safe, and effective method you can use to manage your dose every time you sit with psychedelics. This week on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast we're sharing our tried and true strategy, experience, and insights around always taking the Minimum Effective Dose, and finding your own Middle Way when healing with psychedelics. Keep in mind that our work with plant medicines and psychedelics is for the purpose of healing and growth, and this talk is based on our personal and professional experiences in this context.

The Minimum Effective Dose strategy means choosing to take the smallest amount of medicine needed to get the desired results, experience, or effect. There is a spectrum of methods and advice around how to work with psychedelics, from Microdosing to the Heroic Dose or Ego Death Dose, and everything in between. It can help to understand the wisdom and power of the Minimum Effective Dose by learning about the different types of psychedelic experiences, why and how they work, what they can deliver, and why you might want to dip your toes into the kiddie pool vs. diving into the abyss when it comes to psychedelics.

Join us for a fun conversation about finding your own Middle Way with psychedelics, and learn some questions to ask yourself when preparing to take your next journey. Also, stay until the end to hear a serendipitous and magical story about how our Ayahuasca and San Pedro plant medicine retreat found its home on the beach of Olón, Ecuador.

04 Apr 2024EP 091 | Are You Ready for Plant Medicine?00:51:01

In this episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we dive into the essence of preparation for plant medicine journeys. Are you ready for plant medicine? How do you know? What does it mean to establish readiness? And when do you know?

We'll explore the transformative potential of psychedelics, and get clarity on the importance of being truly ready for the experience. Ceremony and intention are gifts that we have long been disconnected from in our modern life.  It's time to start questioning hustle culture, urgency, overwhelm, and how that interferes with walking a deliberate path of presence and consciousness. If we are distracted and attached to specific outcomes, it makes it nearly impossible to actually receive the teachings of the ancient consciousness of plants.

Learn about the role of sacred reciprocity and humility in approaching medicine work. To do this work in a way that is beneficial there is a necessity of managing expectations, cultivating patience, and embracing the journey as it unfolds. Trusting the process and letting go of attachment to outcomes emerge as central themes, alongside the importance of self-care and introspection.

Join me as we navigate the sometimes unfamiliar terrain of measuring your readiness, recognizing it as a pivotal factor in ensuring meaningful and transformative psychedelic experiences.

22 Mar 2021EP 010 | Creating Space to Feel Your Feelings00:46:33

Today we're talking about Creating Space to Feel Your Feelings. We know, this sounds like a drag, right? If you're like us, you are probably professional avoiders of pain, and have run the gamut of avoidance rather than actually deeply engaging in your feelings and emotions. This is a problem, because over time, when we become conditioned to divert, avoid, and repress our feelings, we start to develop energetic blocks, emotional and mental health issues, and even serious physical illnesses.

On this week's episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're having a conversation about all the ways we try to get out of engaging with our feelings, and how some of these coping mechanisms can really harm us over time. We'll also share about how to move through your feelings with grace and empowerment, why throwing tantrums as an adult is a good thing, and discuss how ceremony with plant medicines teaches us presence and surrender to our feelings, allowing us to make space for the things we truly want in life. And of course how healing with psychedelics and plant medicines help us feel our feelings and connect to our hearts, and how they teach us to carry what we experience in ceremony into our daily lives.

Mystical Heart Collective helps people heal with psychedelics through education, integration, retreats, and the power of community.

05 Jul 2021EP 015 | How to Be The Medicine (And Infiltrate The Matrix)00:26:15

On this week's new episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're getting into one of our favorite topics: How to Be The Medicine (and Infiltrate The Matrix). So many of our integration coaching clients spend loads of money and time investing in a plant medicine retreat, finding deep, transformational healing with psychedelics, but have no real plan for what happens next.

How to integrate and how to exist in the world with this new awareness after finding a real connection to yourself through your psychedelic experience can feel isolating, lonely, and overwhelming. So what comes after the ceremony ends and the pink cloud fades? How do you take the lessons you learned in your journey into your real life in a practical and sustainable way?

This is part of what we teach in Psychedelic Integration Academy, and today we're going to shed some light on how you can Be The Medicine and Infiltrate The Matrix.

In this episode, John and Sinclair share about...

  • How we get caught up in the "Us vs. Them" spiritual tribe mentality, and why it can be dangerous
  • Creating stories and onboarding limiting beliefs and creates excuses for not connecting to others
  • Being the medicine in your life and what this means
  • Taking personal responsibility for bringing the lessons and awareness into your daily life
  • The universal human understanding of vulnerability, compassion, and personal connection
  • How onboarding the new awareness and understandings from sacred plant medicines can be painful and overwhelming
  • The forest fire method of changing your life vs. getting support and making a plan for transformation and integration
  • Why a lot of people feel lost, isolated, or even give up after having a spiritual awakening
  • How sharing your gifts makes them grow and thrive inside you
  • Talking to your family and friends about your new awareness through stories and lessons, rather than the specific psychedelic experience
  • The privilege, responsibility, and the opportunity of working with plant medicines
  • Integration is the process of becoming whole and embodying your wholeness in your life
  • Recognizing that you have to change is hard and can cause panic and fear
  • How to infiltrate The System with Your Light - we break the system from the inside, and going inside ourselves, and doing our very best, no matter the circumstances
  • Seeing your spiritual teachers in every person you meet
  • Living and acting from your heart and being the medicine that the world needs
  • Being authentically yourself calls in your people and connects you into the community you want, and it's your responsibility to stay awake and spread your light

16 Dec 2023EP 079 | How to Transform Anxiety01:11:49

Today's episode is all about understanding anxiety and learning exactly what steps to take to take back control of your experience. How to transform anxiety is first allowing it to be there. To understand that the resistance and the avoidance and the fighting it is not the solution. Learn about flight, freeze, fawn, and fight responses, and the relationship between chronic pain, fear, chronic illness, and anxiety.  According to Dr. Gabor Maté, repressing your authenticity is one of the highest indicators of whether or not you will have chronic illness.

Can you lay down your sword? Can you invite the anxiety in to stay a while? Can you meet it with non-judgment and acceptance? Can you open to have a different relationship with the anxiety that is more indifferent? More zen and chill? Let's dig into how to do this in this episode.

Also, listen to the end to hear the juicy news bomb about the future of this podcast and what's coming next.

  • Whatever shows up in your life IS the path

01 Dec 2023EP 078 | Ayni: Sacred Reciprocity00:45:25

I learned about the beautiful and simple principle of Ayni: sacred reciprocity while I lived in Ecuador. Ayni is a Quechua word and concept that is the backbone of the worldview in their ancestral culture. The Quechua people are the descendants of the Inca people who are native to Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. In the teaching of ayni, they live in a commitment of mutualism that is beneficial to all the beings and the Earth itself. You can always feel safe to give because that energy will always be returned to you. This is much different than the transactional way we live in modern society.

In this episode, I explore the concept of sacred reciprocity, how it is our duty and gift of giving back to do integration work, and how this principle can reach into every area of your life.

09 Nov 2023EP 075 | Hope for Dark Times00:37:12

Unless you've been living under a rock, you might have noticed that there is a lot of heavy and hard shit going on in the world at the moment. When the foundation of the system begins to crack and fail, it can cause anxiety and panic. The thing is, in order for the new way of life to take root, the old one has to crumble away. Dying empires don't typically make their final exit without a lot of brutal struggle. This process can be long and slow, and often big avalanches of change come fast and hard. It may feel like everything is a dumpster fire and there's nothing you can do about it. You may feel lost or afraid or even paralyzed, afraid to move or speak out. In this episode, I'm offering hope for dark times. A heartfelt acknowledgement of the pain and suffering that's occurring in Gaza, and a simple path to finding that ray of light in your own heart so that you can keep going. Put your mask on first, so that you can be a lightbearer in a dark world.

06 Sep 2024EP 109 | Why We Need Space00:57:31

Clarity only comes when you stop moving.

When you allow silence and space and time to bring their presence deep into your life and open you. Crack you wide. To fill all the emptiness with the light of awareness. Being still feels like a luxury. A fairy tale most of us have no idea how to actually practice.

And it's the thing we need the most. Like throwing open all the windows in the room and inviting the breeze to come in and refresh everything.

On this week's podcast, I'm sharing about why we need space, the ways we throttle ourselves when we don't allow it, and how to fix it. Tune in and breathe deep.

26 Apr 2024EP 094 | Obligation and The Sword of Discernment00:44:38

On this week's episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're continuing the journey of letting go with a deep dive into obligation and the sword of discernment.

Wielding this sword is not small undertaking. Its purpose and usefulness are often made clear by unraveling the intricate layers of obligation and people pleasing that you encounter on the healing path with psychedelics. It's purpose is getting EVERYTHING THAT IS OUT OF ALIGNMENT OUT OF THE WAY...So that you can sing your gorgeous heart song of you-ness and the juicy people who are all about it can find you. All you have to do is put out the vibe.

Plant medicine strips away the masks of obligation, compelling you to confront your true self, tend to your unmet needs, and make some serious admissions... That maybe you don't actually like this party or these people and it's time to bounce. It's okay not to conform to the way you think you're supposed to do things. Do what you want, with who you want, exactly how you want instead. Learn to use your sword of discernment to slash obligations and forge a clear and juicy path forward that actually feels good.

No more being afraid of saying no. Boundaries are acts of love and kindness, empowering you to create spaces where authentic connections thrive. The medicine is always showing you how to recalibrate inward and trust you own navigation system. Your only job is to allow everything that's not in alignment with your heart to fall away. This is how you do it.

10 Feb 2024EP 083 | The Truth About Overcoming Addiction00:51:13

Addiction is a monster. It steals your money. Your time. Your dignity. Your health. Your love. Your presence. It is a false friend that leaves you in a perpetual state of disconnection, suffering, and despair. I believe addiction is one of the most difficult challenges to heal in the human experience. It ravages everything in its wake, and our current model of support isn't working. So many people are finding their way to plant medicine and psychedelics in desperation to be liberated from the pain of addiction.

In this episode, I'm sharing vulnerable scenes from my personal journey of soul liberation from a life of addiction and self-destruction to finding healing, self-love, and purpose. The truth about overcoming addiction is that it's only the first step in repairing your relationship to Spirit and with yourself.

You are the only one who can decide you've had enough. But what if it was also your teacher? Your healer? Addiction is healable. It is overcomeable.  It's your own personal portal into a deep spiritual transformation that will show you your purpose and give your life new meaning. Come with me on a journey of hope and healing as we walk through the valley of the shadow with addiction and find our way back to the light.

19 Jul 2024EP 104 | The Alchemy of Love00:59:05

What if I told you that the way we understand love is incomplete at best and wrong at worst? What if LOVE isn't definable? What if it doesn't fit in a box? What if your experience of love is only a small percentage of what is actually possible? The alchemy of love is the process we all go through inside our conscious awakening where the real scope of LOVE is made known inside our hearts.

Alchemy is magical transformation. Expansion. Even explosion. It is the process of something taking an even more pure and true form through the lens of magic and Divine Guidance. It can feel like a breaking, ending, or death. And in that rupture lies the seed of the new beginning.

In this episode, I explore how love serves as a catalyst for healing and growth, whether in the context of self-love, relationships, or spiritual connection. Join me in a conversation about the profound intersections of psychedelics and love, uncovering insights into how these experiences can deepen your understanding of yourself and your connection with love itself.

16 Mar 2021EP 009 | The Wounded Healer00:48:29

Do you identify as an empath or wounded healer or know someone who does? This week on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're exploring the concept of The Wounded Healer, and all the nuances of what it can look like when you're called to be in service to others as someone who has overcome your own trauma or wounding. Wounded healers are often drawn to professions of guidance such as coaching, teaching, therapy, spiritual guidance, facilitation, energy and body work, and other healing careers where they provide support to others.

We discuss how healing something within yourself actually makes you the best person to be in a role of service to others on a path of personal growth, and we'll talk about how conditionally loving and helping someone can sometimes be more harmful than good. We also get into how the shadow side of The Wounded Healer can really derail our intentions, and how psychedelics give us guidance and vision for making it across the bridge of change and growth to reside in our own vision for our lives.

20 Apr 2023EP 053 | There's No Such Thing as a Bad Trip00:47:48

Here’s a controversial statement…There’s no such thing as a bad trip. Some people find this super triggering. But what if  the hardest, most difficult psychedelic experiences are the portal to your deepest expansion? The hard time is a gift. And it’s how we grow our wings and learn to fly. In medicine experiences, and in life. There’s nothing you can’t handle when you learn how to change your perspective to one of gratitude and willingness rather than victimhood. Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast I am exploring how you can shift a bad trip into a catalyst for transformation that will change your life forever.

20 Jan 2023EP 041 | Breathwork and Psychedelic Integration with Jonathan Schecter of Blue Magic Alchemy01:41:21

In this episode, Sinclair interviews Jonathan Schecter, Certified Breathwork Facilitator and Psychedelic Integration Coach and founder of Blue Magic Alchemy. He works with men to help them find clarity and unlock lasting change in their work with mushrooms and plant medicine. The methods he uses in coaching are the same ones he’s used to transform his own life.

Coming into coaching was one result of coming out of an abusive marriage where he was left feeling lost, stuck and unhappy. Within this dark night of the soul, and during a deep exploration of self, he discovered breathwork, and started prioritizing the integration process as much as the time he was spending within the ceremony space.

Looking inward and asking himself what could have helped at the beginning of his own journey led Jonathan into service as an integration coach. He became a certified breathwork facilitator, and launched The Vital Point podcast which centers on different methods and practices for personal transformation and growth.

It’s time to come full circle and reconnect to the real reasons we do this podcast or any of this medicine and integration work. “What’s Your True Why?” is an episode dedicated to singing the song of your heart.

No matter where you are today, something is calling you toward plant medicines. Maybe you want to hurt less. Feel good. Enjoy your life. Be more yourself. Connect with your soul purpose. Or maybe you aren’t sure just yet, but you know that something is missing. Maybe you feel stuck, blocked, or overwhelmed living a life that doesn’t resonate. Maybe you’re in pain, and you just want to feel like yourself again. Today we’re going to share about all the beautiful reasons why our hearts were called to heal with plant medicines. Why we continue to do the work with psychedelic integration. How Your True Why will change and evolve along with you. Why every minute of all of it is SO worth it. And to inspire you to ask yourself, “What’s Your True Why?”

In this episode, John and Sinclair talk about:

  • Going beyond the “work” of psychedelics and plant medicines to the reasons behind WHY you want to do it
  • Planting the seeds of your why and watching them grow
  • Following the societal program, not asking questions, doing what you’re supposed to do, checking off the boxes
  • The inevitable existential crisis that calls you to psychedelics
  • Not feeling grateful, satisfied, or fulfilled with your identity
  • Coming to terms with the “working world” and feeling that there is something really wrong with how our society functions
  • Rave culture and exploring psychedelics recreationally as a means of escape and connection
  • Developing an addiction as a coping mechanism to escape The Matrix and depression of living in the 21st century
  • Going to Burning Man and having a spiritual awakening with mushrooms
  • Beginning to move away from suffering and letting go of what isn’t aligned and serving you
  • Walking towards joy, happiness, peace, self-love, being present
  • Everyone is on the path, and the path is a spiral of ascension
  • The pain is the motivating factor to get most people started on changing their lives
  • Creating space for joy, play, fun, abundance, happiness
  • Receiving the call to be in service
  • Doing your own work on yourself and transmuting suffering into positive vibrations
  • Oneness, unity, compassion - these are vibrations
  • The more you help, the more you give, the more you feel good, the more you call in what you want

10 Sep 2023EP 068 | Soul Centered Liberation with Justin "Cos" Moore01:33:07

Justin “Cos” Moore is a native Appalachian, psychedelic nerd, father, partner, and more. He is of mixed heritage including Irish, Scottish, and Yuchi. Cos is a former high school athlete. He is an initiate of Q’ero and Paqo lineages of modern day Peru. He has worked as a youth wilderness mentor, yoga teacher, music producer & vocalist. He is currently in grad school for marriage and family therapy and is forming his own practice. He co-founded the Appalachian Association for the study of Psychedelic Experiences (AAPEX) which is set to host its first event called Psychedelic South Conference in 2024.

In this episode, Justin shares about his own personal soul centered liberation journey with plant medicine. He shares about healing his relationship with his father and embracing the masculine, discovering Pachakuti Mesa Peruvian shamanism, finding deep sexual healing through tantra, and following his own path of growth and expansion to become a healer and psychedelic leader in his native home of Appalachia.

30 Sep 2023EP 071 | Finding Home Within Yourself00:52:02

When did you start to lose yourself? To forget your native language of intuition? To misunderstand the signals of your body and start looking outside for answers? This episode is about finding home within yourself, remembering your native tongue, learning to trust yourself again, and how plant medicine and psychedelic integration are your best allies on this spiritual warrior path.

"Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." This is one of my favorite quotes by Arthur Ashe, the great African-American tennis player turned AIDS activist who was the first Black man to win Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the Australian Open. In this episode, I'm sharing about how the simple steps in this inspiring life mantra can guide you on your psychedelic path to wholeness, holistic healing, and finding home within yourself.

01 Sep 2023EP 067 | Conscious Uncoupling00:37:16

I used to think that “conscious uncoupling” was a lame term made up by rich people with enough lawyers to handle their messy breakup. Now, my almost 5 year relationship with someone I love very much is ending. I am conscious. I am present. My heart is broken. And it is messy and hard, but not mean, spiteful, or ugly.

This time I get to choose to be loving instead of angry. I get to choose to be wise hearted instead of blaming and judging. I can choose to see that I am not being abandoned. That this is me choosing myself and you choosing yourself and that is beautiful. That we get to love each other forever because that’s what real love looks like. Allowing someone to be held and free at once.

Relationships don’t become failures because they don’t last forever. I am so grateful to have spent these last years loving and being loved by my person. I am so proud of him and how he moves in the world. I am praying for his path, that he finds peace, happiness, and does whatever it takes to share his medicine with the world. I am so grateful for it all. Thank you for being my most favorite teacher and sacred mirror and lover and best friend. And it hurts. And it’s hard. And I’m not able to show up in my work pretending I am above it all. I am here. In grief. In love. Walking through the portal of death into a new beginning.

13 Jan 2023EP 040 | Radical Self-Acceptance00:57:20

What is radical self-acceptance? Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast we are exploring the concept of embracing yourself fully. Exactly where you are, how you are. Right now. Radical self-acceptance is a psychedelic integration strategy you can use to turn life from a struggle and a fight into a compassionate, enjoyable way of being. But first, you have to sit in the authenticity of your true nature. And as usual, plant medicine can guide you there.

In this episode, Sinclair and John share about:

  • Acceptance, surrender, and self-love are the keys to unlocking your true nature
  • Sinclair first encountering radical self-acceptance at Burning Man
  • The chronic feeling of not-good-enoughness
  • How we onboard conformity, changing yourself to be like everyone else
  • Leaning into how you naturally are, re-learning and remembering who you really are
  • The ecosystem of diversity, the more we are individually different and cohesive, the more success we are going to have
  • Laying down the struggle of trying to change yourself and accepting yourself exactly as you are
  • How we get stuck in the victim mentality after experiencing trauma
  • Allowing your trauma to be there without judgment
  • Plant medicine helps you raise out of your ego and gives you a choice to change your perspective
  • What if instead of changing yourself, you love the body that you have? What if you could choose to love yourself RIGHT NOW?
  • You get to decide what's beautiful, you get to decide what matters to you
  • When the pain is too big for you to feel it, and you create other pain through numbing behaviors -- this is protective
  • When you are struggling, you need more love, not less
  • What is the difference between self-acceptance and self-love?
  • Unlocking your soul mission with plant medicine
  • Healing and alchemizing trauma and struggle into magic and light
  • The "shoulds" and forcing yourself to do things in a way that goes against what you need
  • You can accept yourself right now, exactly as you are
  • Learning how to express at your highest octave starts with self-acceptance
  • Start where you are
  • Giving yourself permission to trust where you are and feel your feelings
  • Bringing your attention to what doesn't feel good and welcoming it, inviting it in
  • Being soft to yourself, inviting the difficult thing in
  • Investing time, energy, and money into finding out who you really are
  • Limiting beliefs and reasons why you can't do the work (money, time, etc.)
  • Valuing yourself, your health, and your life experience
  • Wasting time staying stuck in old patterns
  • How personal work helps your relationships and heals the collective
  • Taking care of yourself is a radical act

18 Apr 2024EP 093 | The Heroic Act of Letting Go00:44:14

Are you one of those "over my cold, dead body" kind of people? Do you keep hang around things and people that don't serve you like milk in your fridge that went out of date with the Clinton administration? Do you find yourself languishing in relationships or situations long past their best? Are you kind of sad when things have to end and therefore grasp onto them so tight that maybe it just doesn't have to be true?

On this week's episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're going on a journey of self-discovery centered around the heroic act of letting go. Learn about why you hold on—the fear of the unknown, uncertainty, pain, and transition and how these fears often manifest as clinging to the familiar. Sometimes so tightly that it's hindering your growth and preventing you from fully embracing life's unfolding mysteries.

Holding on is protective in nature and it's important to approach our clinging with empathy for the ways we seek security when everything falls apart.  It's okay to acknowledge your holding patterns and explore the narratives that have shaped your relationships, both with others and with yourself.

Today we'll lean into the profound wisdom that lies in releasing your grip on attachment, inviting you to let go with grace and hold on lightly. When you begin to allow, you can start trusting in the flow of life's unfolding journey. Refresh yourself around how radical acceptance in the present moment encourages you to embrace all of your feelings, allowing them to move through you with compassion and understanding.

Let's co-create a space of deep introspection and self-reflection. Claim the beauty in owning your truth and finding trust and authenticity, no matter what changes come. It's time to clean your fucking house an clear away the clutter of outdated beliefs so that you can step into a newfound sense of sovereignty, capacity, and joy.

12 Oct 2021EP 017 | Spiritual Burnout and The Healing Power of Rest00:34:05

Today on this episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're coming to you from the comfort or our living room sofa to talk about Spiritual Burnout and The Healing Power of Rest. What is spiritual burnout or therapeutic burnout, what does it look like, and how can you learn how to spot it? This is a crucial subject that is rarely talked about (but often experienced) on any spiritually focused path, and can be especially profound and important to recognize as part of your psychedelic integration plan.

In this episode, John and Sinclair have a conversation about...

  • How working on spiritual development can become an obsession, making life feel heavy and hard
  • Defining spiritual burnout or therapeutic burnout, and what it looks like when you don't take rest
  • How avoiding psychedelic integration actually leads to spiritual burnout
  • How society rewards hustle culture, grinding yourself down, and overachieving and the dark side of doing this with plant medicines and psychedelics
  • Why using plant medicine for "performance enhancement" can feel out of alignment
  • Signs of spiritual burnout including low energy, depression, loss of excitement, loss of excitement, overwhelm, and exhaustion
  • Psychedelics are designed to reconnect us to our natural curiosity about ourselves and the universe, and when it stops feeling good, that's a sign that something is out of balance
  • Why you have to take breaks from medicine to see results and allow for healing
  • Setting up for disappointment by looking at ourselves as unhealed, never doing enough, and seeing spiritual development as a problem to be solved
  • How to recognize spiritual burnout, what causes it, and how to shift away from feeling overwhelmed
  • Taking it easy, taking your time, slowing down, and allowing things to be as they are
  • Consciousness expanding is only one side of the coin, integration is the other side
  • Balancing doing with rest and receiving
  • Asking yourself, what is the point of sitting with medicine if you are not doing anything with it?
  • Avoiding spiritual burnout starts with understanding that medicine is a tool, spiritual living is a path
  • It takes how long it takes, and that is a gift
  • Shifting from perfectionism to progress and celebrating all the positive steps you take on your path of growth
  • Fun as an integration practice
  • Being gentle and compassionate with yourself when you are doing shadow work
  • Short term vs. long term burnout, and how each is interrelated to lack of community, understanding, and support
  • Taking breaks from medicines or anything that is sucking the joy out of your life is healthy and necessary
  • Connecting back to your heart and listening to your body
  • Learning how to know what season you are in and how you can work with us to integrate your psychedelic journeys over a longer period of time

11 Jul 2024EP 103 | The Medicine of Softness00:46:51

The medicine of softness is the gift of the feminine path. The path of more gentleness, slowness, contemplation, and care. In this episode I explore the different ways to sit with plant medicines, and why sometimes, it's not always necessary to receive lessons the hard way.

We live in such a stimulating, fast-paced, dopamine fueled society and slowness asks us to stop. Be present. Find the subtle layers and textures and silence within. Psychedelics don't need to blast you out of yourself, they are here to awaken your true path to your heart.

Diet culture and struggling with food and your body is that toxic, abusive relationship that should have ended years ago, but just keeps hanging on and making you feel like crap. Diet culture is a form of violence towards women, and anyone who feels hijacked by limiting programming that tells you only thin, young, small bodies are valuable and worthy. In this episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast I am sharing about breaking up with diet culture and finding home within yourself through psychedelic integration. We’ll dive into body image, binge eating, the cycle of restriction and control, and where it all comes from – so you can reclaim your power and heal your relationship with food once and for all.

01 Feb 2021EP 004 | Releasing Fear with Psychedelics00:39:43

On this week’s episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast we’re having a conversation about releasing fear with psychedelics. We often half-joke about how psychedelics literally help us escape from The Matrix, but the truth is that we live in a society where fear, anxiety, worry, and stress are manufactured to keep us divided and disempowered. Our modern society has us constantly plugged into news, entertainment, and social media that hijacks our vibration with a constant feed of “Be Afraid. Don’t Trust People Different Than You. There’s Something Wrong with You. Buy This to Feel Better.”

Whether we are conscious of it or not, consuming news and media that makes us feel bad about ourselves and the world creates illness in our bodies and minds, and distracts us from all the possibility, opportunity, and magic we could have in our lives instead.

06 Mar 2025EP 127 | How to Do Your Inner Work00:59:06

Let's be real. Doing your "inner work" is kind of a bitch. It's the uncomfortable, sticky, often unfun process of excavation, unlearning, deprogramming, sifting, sorting, and sitting with all the things that have been stuffed inside you for years.

We can hold and hide and cram a lot inside us. We're actually really efficient at storing our internal garbage and saving it up so we can torment ourselves with it. We're pretty great at suffering.

In this episode, I explore practical tools and strategies for doing the inner work and integrating psychedelic experiences into your daily life. Whether you’re new to the spiritual path or looking to deepen your practice, this conversation covers:

  • Cultivating self-awareness through daily practices
  • Processing emotions and embracing shadow work
  • Reframing limiting beliefs and setting actionable intentions
  • Building a support system and finding community

Inner work is a journey of self-discovery and healing, and this episode is here to guide you every step of the way.

14 Sep 2022EP 036 | How to Heal Chronic Pain with Plant Medicine01:22:41

Chronic pain. If you have suffered with this or any other chronic or relapsing illness, these words send shivers through your body because, let's be honest. This shit SUCKS. Chronic pain is debilitating. It steals your joy, your attention, and your life. It takes your identity and makes your world close in, leaving you feeling hopeless and alone. It can make you question everything you thought you believed, and shake you to your core. Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, Sinclair is sharing how to heal chronic pain with plant medicine, and taking you through her own intimate story of how integration work gave her back her life.

For Sinclair, chronic pain has been a companion of her adulthood since as far back as she can remember. She has suffered with migraines with aura, excruciating back pain, IBS, bloating, constipation, all manner of digestive issues, reproductive problems, pain, numbness, tingling, sciatica, extreme anxiety, heart palpitations, chronic fatigue, and more.  At several points thinking she was developing the symptoms of MS, fibromyalgia, or another unknown autoimmune disorder or neurological disease. She tried every medical solution, from physical therapy, chiropractors, inversion tables, massage, dry needling, pharmaceuticals, supplements, and more.

This story details her path from illness onset to pain free life, and how she worked with plant medicine to overcome this huge obstacle and learned to enjoy her life again.

26 Oct 2022EP 038 | Shifting Beliefs About Money and Abundance00:52:27

In this episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, Sinclair is digging into shifting beliefs about money and abundance. Money is like Fight Club. The first rule is YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT MONEY. (GASP! *pearl clutch*)

Money is such a fear-filled, scarce, uncomfortable subject – especially for spiritual folks with big open hearts. Today I'm throwing down some real talk about breaking your blocks around money, and how this is CRUCIAL work on your path of spirituality, psychedelic integration, and being in service.

Because for a lot of us, it is scary. It's stressful. It's some mystery that you can't understand, that rules your life in ways you don't like. It determines where you can live, what work you do, the kind of healthcare you get, the car you drive, and the quality of life you get to have. We are told that Money = Happiness. But plant medicine will start pulling on that thread and unraveling it until you confront this programming, and start asking yourself what you actually value. What really makes you happy? What if abundance isn't about money at all? What if it's actually safe and spiritual to have money? What would your world look like if you stopped fighting with money and started looking at it as a friend? A magical energy that you can attract and connect with, so that you can open yourself to the Spiritual Opulence that you deserve.

30 Oct 2024EP 114 | How to Reunite with Your Moon Cycle01:01:57

This week's podcast episode is all about reconnecting with your moon cycle. While I'm speaking directly to my feminine sisters this week, I encourage our spirit seeking soul brothers to lean in, read on, and listen to this week's show. Come educate yourself alongside your sisters. We need your support, understanding, and love to find our way back to ourselves. If you have a sister, a mother, a partner, a bestie, a medicine sis... this is for you too.

Menstruation. Periods. Your monthly bleed. The so-called curse of being female...

If you have a womb, chances are you have some strong feelings about your period. You may have spent most of your life in fierce battle with your uterus. Engaged in a war with yourself and your body. Secretly wishing it would just stop already. Cramps, sobfests, bloating, weird digestion, sore breasts, and bleeding all over the place like it's Shark Week are common monthly experiences.

What many women don't know is literally ANYTHING about the ceremony of their monthly moon. That your bleed is sacred. Ceremonial. Natural. Primal. That your womb is the center of your creative power. Your manifestation temple. And that we are naturally designed to be in alignment and resonance with the phases of the moon. That we ALSO have phases in our cycles.

Your monthly moon blood has powerful information about your overall health and wellness. Your cycle, your symptoms, and your relationship with your body and your creativity are all connected. The way you are experiencing this blessing in your life can offer clues to the balance of your systems (minerals, vitamins, your hormones, digestion, brain health, organ function, adrenals, reproduction, sexual health, and more.)

We have so much collective healing to do, and it starts with healing your relationship with yourself.

Choose yourself. Come home to your body. Take care of her in the way she needs. Be the witch you were born to be.

Limiting beliefs are the silent saboteurs of your life—hiding in plain sight, disguised as your own thoughts. Masquerading as your identity. They tell you you're not ready, not worthy, or just "not the kind of person who gets miracles from the Universe."

And the worst part? You believe them. In continuation from last week, I'm exposing these sneaky subconscious programs, showing you exactly how to spot them, and, most importantly, how to break free. Because the truth is, you’re not actually stuck—you’re just running an outdated script.

So how do you rewrite it? How do you shift from self-doubt to self-empowerment? Learn to recognize the signs of limiting beliefs, the patterns that keep you playing small, and the practical ways to shift your mindset.

Get ready to call out your inner imposter, challenge the stories that don’t serve you, and step into a reality that’s actually aligned with who youreally are (AF!)

11 Dec 2024EP 120 | Overachieving, Workaholism, and Perfectionism01:03:12

The first rule of Overachiever's Club is that you make sure to tell everyone about how hard it is to get into. The second rule is the hours are 24/7 and there are no breaks. The third rule is "that's not good enough, I'll just do it myself..."

If you don't believe in your inherent value and awesomeness... If you can't open your heart and truly feel the magic you are contributing to the world by just existing... And you are struggling with workaholism, overachieving, or perfectionism...

That fear is standing in the way of everything beautiful that is trying to come through you in life.

So WTF is this compulsive drive to excel and win and achieve? Where does it come from? Why do so many smart, amazing people struggle with crippling self- doubt and believe they are fundamentally unlovable? How can plant medicine help you out of this thought pattern?

Overcoming this faulty belief system is part of the journey to greater evolution, especially for those of us on the spiritual path. This episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast is for anyone who has struggled with being “too busy” or feels like you are constantly striving to do more and it never feels like enough. Learn how workaholism and overachieving are deeply ingrained in our culture, and how psychedelics offer an opportunity to challenge these tendencies.

06 Jul 2022EP 029 | It's OK Not to Be OK00:45:53

Here at The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we pride ourselves on being open, honest, and vulnerable about the struggles and experiences we have integrating and living life on the plant medicine path. In this work, you have to learn that it's ok not to be ok. It's safe to feel, to lean into difficult places, and that this is all part of the healing and expansion process. Today on the podcast, John shares his personal experience about letting go, releasing control, and surrendering to what is.

Spiritual service doesn’t mean you get to fly high and glide above problems and tough times. In this episode, you will hear an inside picture of what John has been experiencing in his own personal process. Some of you may know that earlier this year, he completed his 7 day vision quest in Ecuador. This experience opens the door to willingness, and since that time, he has been coming up into willingness over and over in daily life.

The truth is that plant medicine and spiritual work have many peaks, and many valleys. You hear a lot about the peaks, and not as much about walking through the deep jungle valleys of your own emotional and spiritual process. These valleys can become very familiar, and in fact if you are wanting to be in service, you will be asked to learn the way out of the darker parts of yourself like the back of your hand.

You will continue finding the same lessons in different forms until you learn what you need to learn from it. Medicine will make you more sensitive to your feelings. Your hard feelings feel more intense, and you will become skilled at leaning into them. Sit with it. Feel it. And sometime in the process of doing that, the shifts will transmute the energy into something else. It's OK not to be OK, and sometimes that is exactly what you need.

Does this resonate with you? If so, we’d love to invite you to learn more about Rise and Align, our 1:1 PLANT MEDICINE TRANSFORMATION MENTORSHIP where you’ll learn exactly how to identify the root causes of your energetic blocks and self-sabotaging behaviors so that you can stop judging and being hard on yourself and trust yourself and your intuition instead.

17 Apr 2025EP 130 | Trust Life00:56:36

The week on the show, explore the radical yet simple act of trust—how we often resist it, why we fear it, and how embracing it can transform our lives.

We'll examine the ways we mistrust—questioning our instincts, overthinking, and letting the critical voice in our heads convince us it’s the "real" us. But what if that voice isn’t you? What if it’s just a conditioned response to fear and uncertainty designed to keep you safe?

Learn how to:

  • Trust nature (like the effortless medicine of the hummingbird)
  • Trust yourself—your wisdom, your body, your choices
  • Trust your people, your community, and the support around you
  • Trust your heart, love, and the deeper intelligence of your emotions
  • Trust your intuition, even when logic protests
  • Work with resistance—when you feel the urge to run, hide, shut down, or close off. What if you chose to open and soften instead?

Trust isn’t just a feeling—it’s a practice, a belief, a daily commitment to build your capacity. Learn how to trust the unfolding, the unknown, and the messy beauty of being.

03 Feb 2023EP 043 | Reconnecting, Receiving, and Rest00:49:44

Are you tired? Like yes, of course you're tired, but I mean ARE YOU TIRED? Exhausted by the onslaught of doing and going and expressing and running around trying to make sense of this world that is on fast forward?

Nervous system dysregulation, overwhelm, burnout, anxiety. Not feeling present for your life.  These are just some of the symptoms of being chronically overstimulated, disconnected, and stuck in output mode. And while we've come to think of this  as just how it is in modern life, it's actually not your natural state to be fried and wired and constantly doing. When it doesn't feel safe to rest, how can you retrain your brain and nervous system to crave stillness and calm? If you feel drawn to plant medicine and psychedelics as a way to reconnect to your true nature of peace and ease, you're not alone. Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast I am sharing about reconnecting, receiving, and rest, and how these divinely feminine states of slowing down are crucial to creating a different world.

03 Mar 2023EP 047 | Our Future is Ancient with Pia Sewelies00:58:16

Pia Sewelies is a friend, medicine sister, and the founder of Our Future is Ancient and Soul Medicine Retreats, ceremonial psilocybin experiences in Mexico. She is a yoga and somatic movement teacher, and a student of non-dual Saiva Tantra and ancient shamanic healing rituals. Pia transmutes ancient practices and traditions into a modern-day language, bridging the gap for deeply transformative and nurturing transcultural healing.

The path of ceremonies and plant healing entered Pia’s life in a moment of personal crisis and overcoming years of severe anxiety and panic attacks. She was called to work with plant medicine, to explore and heal the depths of her suffering.

She found herself in the Amazon and spent extensive time learning from, and working directly with different curanderos in Peru, Ecuador and Mexico. She carries the traditions and teachings she received along her journey with the utmost respect, taking responsibility for the fact that this is a lifelong path of learning and growing.

Pia is a vision quester and devoted to the traditions of The Fuego Sagrado De Itzachilatlan and has fully committed her life to a path of service.

She keeps returning to study and sit in ceremonies with her teachers across the Americas.

Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, I'm sharing a wonderful conversation about healing and mushrooms with Joi Whitmore, Entheogenic Priestess. Through her own life experience with racial prejudice, sexual abuse, and a mentally ill mother, she has transmuted multiple layers of trauma with the help of intense therapy, coaching, and psilocybin. Joi is Certified Master Life Coach, an intuitive entheogenic guide, integration coach, and an instructor for the Wayfinder Life Coach training school. She works with all types of people who are feeling discouraged with life internally, even though they may appear successful on the surface.

It is from this place of healing that she seeks to serve others coming from the same space. A child of the earth, she was raised in a multi-cultural family who introduced her to her love of nature, gardening, the beach, and Native American culture. 22 Jun 2023EP 061 | JOMO: The Joy of Missing Out00:31:52

The joy of missing out, or JOMO, is the hot, sexy, good feeling, "I'm a badass" antithesis to fear of missing out (FOMO). It's about practicing self-trust, self-confidence, intuition, and following the beat of your own drum. It's knowing that you can't miss out on something you are meant to experience. It's taking pleasure in your own path, and relishing the small moments that life has to offer you each and every day. JOMO is a vibe of following your own bliss. And today we're going to get into how to make the shift to choosing joy and love over fear.

In this episode, Sinclair shares about:

  • FOMO, fear of missing out is essentially a lack of belonging
  • JOMO, the joy of missing out, when you trust yourself and lean into your inner power
  • JOMO comes up as a choice of a different mindset on the medicine path
  • Beginning to question your belief system, your values, and your mindset as you expand on the medicine path
  • Example of me not attending the MAPS Psychedelics and Science Conference
  • Getting a gut feeling, feeling resistance in the body is a clue to something not being for you
  • You can feel JOMO in yourself, AND be excited for other people to have their experiences
  • JOMO is a choice and often is accompanied by some FOMO as well, especially as you are learning to choose joy over fear
  • The importance of science as the language of trying to understand God
  • Choosing your path, leaning into the joy of missing out, and putting both feet into the spiritual path, the medicine path, the healing path
  • Trusting your own vibe, your medicine, and your heart
  • Starting to check in with your body, tuning into the subtle language of your body and nervous system
  • Most of our behaviors, beliefs, and what drives our actions are unconscious
  • Paying attention to how it feels in your body and heart
  • Learning how to tune into glimmers, the opposite of triggers
  • Glimmers are little signals of joy that come in the hundreds every day
  • You can choose how you feel and where you put your attention
  • The monkey mind, the inner voice, the Default Mode Network and when it is activated
  • Meditation as a way you can start to become the master of your monkey mind
  • Using psychedelics to turn off the inner critic, to choose love over fear
  • Changing things a little bit at a time, making small changes and being consistent
  • Choosing to trust yourself over whatever is going on outside of you
  • Taking joy and savoring little moments, doing alchemy all day every day

24 Nov 2021EP 019 | Embracing an Attitude of Gratitude00:32:18

Are you ready to drop the complaining suckfest and get on board with embracing an attitude of gratitude? In this Thanksgiving week episode on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're talking about what it means to truly cultivate a vibration of gratitude, how we get it wrong, and share some easy steps you can take to choose an attitude of gratitude every day.

In this episode, John and Sinclair discuss...

  • The real definition of gratitude as a vibration you hold
  • Love and gratitude and how they are related
  • Getting deeper into feeling grateful when everything is going your way, and when it's not
  • Gratitude and its relationship to plant medicine and psychedelics
  • The true source of gratitude as a state of mind that can be cultivated by anyone
  • Receiving the message of not feeling grateful or thankful: things being out of alignment
  • How plant medicine shifts your understanding of gratitude
  • When you choose to fight and struggle, when you choose to be victimized, and get stuck in a cycle of complaining, you're making a choice to look at things in a negative way
  • The duality of experiencing not having, of passing through places of going without or lack
  • Practicing going without as a way to understand thankfulness
  • Choosing gratitude as a mindset vs. looking to receive good things and THEN being grateful for it
  • Becoming aware of what you already have
  • The negative thought loop of complaining, perfectionism, and if/then thinking
  • Never being satisfied with what already is creates a loop of blocking gratitude
  • Getting sick and tired of feeling sorry for yourself as a starting point to creating gratitude
  • Finding authentic gratitude where you are right now
  • How you create blocks to gratitude by not taking care of what you already have
  • Manifesting magic by being grateful NOW, not in the future
  • Admitting that you're dissatisfied, unhappy, you don't like your life, and sitting with that
  • Gratitude comes through having a reckoning with yourself
  • Finding the good things in your present situation AND THEN finding gratitude for the uncomfortable and difficult circumstances that are happening so you can learn
  • Everyone is your teacher, so you can learn to choose compassion, choose light, and choose to be kind and gentle with the people in your life
  • Adjusting your attitude to see that life is happening for you not to you
  • Becoming grateful for pain and suffering and transforming your own darkness into light
  • Sculpting yourself into the truest and most authentic form
  • Returning to the sacred place of knowing exactly who you are
  • You don't need to change who you are, you need to remember who you are
  • A simple gratitude practice you can do every day

Does this resonate with you? If so, we'd love to invite you to learn more about Rise and Align, our 4 month psychedelic transformational coaching program where you'll learn exactly how to build a conscious healing partnership with plant medicines, follow your heart, and manifest the purpose driven life your heart is calling you toward.

25 Oct 2024EP 113 | How to Support Yourself Through Dark Times01:00:05

Greetings from Appalachia. Hugs from my heart to your heart. I hope you are well and healthy and blessed up in this moment.

What happens for you when everything shatters? When you drain your battery down to nothing? What fears and coping mechanisms arise in you when you feel the most stuck, run down, overwhelmed, and worn out?

Most of us on the path of awakening find ourselves traversing the bardo of fear. The fear of living. The fear of dying. The fear of no purpose. The fear of being seen fully. The fear of missing out. The fear of illness. The fear of not being ok. Of doing it wrong. Of something being wrong with you.

The truth of eternal love, and the fear that you are a broken piece that will never find your way back home to it. That Source has forsaken you.

That you are somehow unworthy of love and healing and connection. That you have harmed yourself. That you have missed the boat. That whatever you are doing is not enough.

That you are not enough.

We are all afraid of death. The ending. And so we have this deep fear of things going off the rails. Of the plan not coming to fruition. That we will lose our abilities in some way. That we will lose people and things and places we love.

What if you don't do something epic in this life? What if you stay stuck? What if it never gets better? What if you just can't change it?

The reality sets in that you will die. Trees die. Birds die. Death is part of life. It is life itself. And the body is not afraid to die. It knows how to die. We have died infinite times and will always die. Death is an illusion.

And yet the fear persists.

What do you do when that fear becomes reality? When health or home or love or life ends? What do you do in the wake of death and destruction? What do you do when the dark water of the shadow threatens to engulf you? How do you respond when death comes knocking at your door?

What do you do when it is all too much?

Resistance to WHAT IS creates all suffering. Perfectionism is self harm. This idea that you need to do it all in some specific way OR ELSE. That you need to be the most evolved self. That you can't change your mind or beliefs. That you can't fall apart and make mistakes and constantly be learning and evolving. Because what will people think?

What you resist is going to keep coming at you until you learn the lesson. The darkness is here to teach you, to grow you, to make you stronger and more powerful. The things that you do not want, that you are afraid of, that you avoid and disassociate from, these are your greatest teachers.

When the river floods her banks, we are left with the aftermath of the flood. The dark waters of the shadow reveal the soft underbelly of your deepest fears. The flood is death. And only through death can you be reborn anew, stronger, more sovereign, more present. Immortal in your innovation. Empowered to take a stand to go all in on being here now with everything you need. Even when it is not what you want.

In this week's podcast episode I am sharing about how to fortify yourself in times of struggle and darkness. How to take nurturing care of your human body, your physical self, your emotions, your mind, and your spirit so that you can be a soft warrior of light.

Learn about what you can do right now to stop whatever is engulfing you and return your river to her banks so you can be in flow. How to start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can.

Where every so often, the Universe reaches out and kicks the crap out of you.  The thing is, sometimes things fall apart, despite doing your healing work, sitting with plant medicine, and "doing everything right."  Being on a spiritual path doesn't magically solve our lives. But it does create consciousness. And consciousness is how you turn a difficult rupture into a portal to personal evolution. This is the ultimate lesson from both psychedelics and psychedelic integration. What do you do when the Universe hands you a cosmic bitchslap?  Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast I am sharing eight simple steps to weather any storm, connect with your grief, and return to your power and presence with a renewed sense of self-worth and understanding.

04 Nov 2021EP 018 | So You Wanna Be a Healer? 00:41:03
So you wanna be a healer? Huzzah! Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're answering the most common questions about becoming a healer, psychedelic guide, psychedelic integration coach, or other spiritual service practitioner and how you can find your true path to sharing your gifts with the world. Are you feeling called toward being in spiritual service after working with psychedelics? If so, what does that path look like, and how can you start to turn yourself into a high vibration, experienced practitioner? What does it really mean to truly share healing energy with those around you, and help others have the same awakening you've experienced?

In this episode, John and Sinclair have a conversation about...

*How to step into your power and answer the call toward being in spiritual service with plant medicines, psychedelics, or other healing professions and practices
*Why it's so important to heed this call in your life
*Things to consider and investigate as you step into this new and transformed role
*How the ego gets inflated when you're first starting out working with medicines and what to watch out for
*How the only person you can actually heal is yourself, and disempowering people by claiming to heal them
*Teach a man to fish vs. giving a man a fish
*The Death Cult programming that you have to break out of in order to be aligned in spiritual service
*Feeling ready to be of service after only a few ceremonies and not doing your own integration is a tool of the Death Cult and creates spiritual materialism
*Self-care as a vital spiritual practice for pouring from a full cup as a spiritual practitioner
*Psychedelic medicines as the Big Bang catalyst for growth, and the Integration Journey as the true test of healing and growth
*Bringing spiritual alignment to ANY work you do, even if you're not a spiritual practitioner
*You don't have to become a shaman to have a spiritual impact on the world and people around you
*Being a spiritual healer is not a 9-5 job, it's a vibration you carry with you all the time
*If you're truly a healer, Spirit is using you to heal others through your words, your actions, your power
*Inspiring people by how you live and who you are
*Working on yourself through the medicine path, and inspiring others to heal themselves
*The way to follow this path is to sit in your own spiritual practices, develop your own personal relationship with medicines, and invest in your own healing and growth
*Being in a high vibration is the best medicine to share your gifts with the world
*There's no way to walk a path for someone else, each step has to be taken by the individual
*Mr. Rogers and cultivating spiritual purpose, and the effects of caring for your divine self
*Taking responsibility first for yourself and what's in your life
*Empowering others to find their purpose and share their light
*The super awesome effects of being in spiritual service, and getting to do your own integration
*If you want to be an integration coach, you have to do your own work in your own life
*When we remember we don't know everything, it helps to remind us that the Universe has our back
*Staying in the shit, sitting with the heaviness, and transmuting it through spiritual alchemy
*Busting the myth of spiritual abundance only being about making money or it being easy money
*Healing isn't all about magic and metaphysical powers, it's about the power of holding space and accepting people as they are
*Starting to create the vibration of gratitude and bringing your light to whatever you already have
*Developing spiritual practices and actually doing them
*Starting where you are and doing spiritual good RIGHT NOW
*Putting out what you want to receive, being a mirror, and holding space for others
*How to find your own spiritual path and building a conscious relationship with plant medicines

21 Mar 2024EP 089 | Healing the Abandonment Wound01:06:19

Daddy issues anyone?

This week I'm peeling back the layers of the heart scars that stick with us from moments of feeling abandoned, neglected, or flat-out rejected.

From the emotional gut punches to the mind games, we'll dive into why this core wound creates such a long lasting echo, often becoming one of the most defining aspects of our entire lives.

I share some examples from my own abandonment drama with my brilliant and troubled father, showing how those early episodes shape our beliefs and behaviors well into adulthood.

Learn how these abandonment wounds sneak their way into every part of our behavior and personality, turning some of us into people-pleasing perfectionists on a quest for that elusive gold star of external validation.

Oh, and did I mention the joyride of unworthiness and never feeling quite good enough? Yeah, we're shining a light on that too, seeing how it seeps into our relationships and attachment styles, keeping that abandonment hamster wheel spinning.

But not to fear, there's hope in the form of the healing salve of radical self-acceptance. Taking a hard look in the mirror, and doling out forgiveness like Halloween candy. By the end of this show, you'll be ready to tackle your abandonment demons head-on, transforming not just your own life but also spreading that love and healing to everyone around you.

13 Apr 2023EP 052 | How to Be Your Authentic Self01:11:49

You might be thinking, "Do you really need instruction on how to be your authentic self?" Well, that depends on where you are with your growth and expansion. How willing are you to deconstruct what it means to be YOU? How open are you to the possibility that YOU is ever evolving, ever changing, and that you come from a spiritual place of origin? That You are the light. That you don't need to do anything complicated to be yourself. You just need to listen to what is already there. Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast I am sharing six simple steps to call in more authenticity, connect to your highest self, and be the most YOU that ever lived.

In this episode, Sinclair shares about:

  • Recognizing that the “YOU” that you associate as being is a collection of agreements, experiences, stories, and memories. There really is no static you. You are always evolving and growing.
  • At least some of your personality is a collection of trauma responses, habits, and learned behaviors that run on auto-pilot
  • How we get indoctrinated to behave and perform for love as children
  • How we get contained (being told we are too loud, talk too much, don't pay attention right, need to control ourselves, be quiet, be good, please adults with our docility and agreeableness)
  • Seeking external validation, wanting approval and love from outside yourself
  • Connecting to the real YOU - the highest self, the inner being, the divine light bearer… this is your essence. And your essence is love. Light. This is Universal.
  • Receiving the answers that you are capable of holding in this moment
  • Finding your soul mission as a spiritual quest
  • Choosing to incarnate, being hip to where your spirit wants to be and evolve as part of ALL THAT IS
  • Becoming a witness to your patterns and self-sabotaging behaviors
  • Being a goddess walking, celebrating spiritual opulence
  • Receiving the transmission of YOU, pure love, pure power, pure presence
  • Taking medicine means you are asking for MORE - power, responsibility, healing
  • The privilege of sitting with psychedelics, learning from these ancient teachers
  • Removing the obstacles that prevent you from being yourself
  • You don't need to be different. You already have everything that you need. You only need to let everything fall away that doesn't resonate with who you are.
  • Taking in the weight of the world, seeing humans as bad or wrong, being angry at society
  • Unfettered economic growth in a finite system will collapse the system
  • Radical acceptance of where we are and taking responsibility for our own participation in this system
  • Making better choices about how you are participating in the system
  • Holding the weight of the world on your shoulders is an obstacle
  • Letting go of the not good enough wound
  • Worrying and anxiety are obstacles that steal your energy
  • Healing your ancestors in the past and future
  • Starting form a clean slate, quitting what doesn't resonate
  • Cultivating your wild, childlike capacity for wonder
  • The wonder of spring in Asheville, North Carolina, seeing nature come alive
  • Be curious, have fun, finding out what you love to do, trying new things
  • Stop giving a fuck about what people think
  • Turning people off is the jam
  • You are a special kind of vibe
  • Put your attention and resources toward what you want, how you want to fee, what you want to experience
  • Erase should from your vocabulary
  • Plugging up energy and time and money leaks
  • Trust yourself to be yourself - one moment at a time
  • Reconnecting to your soft, animal nature
  • Take off the mask, really be yourself and see what happens

25 Jul 2024EP 105 | Redefining Psychedelic Integration00:47:30

Sometimes I forget that a lot of people think "psychedelic integration" is just sitting around in circles full of psychonauts talking about what happened in your latest medicine journey in extreme detail. It's all about the visionary experience and who saw what and how deep they went. "Psychedelics are trippy! AMAZING! YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME ON MY JOURNEY!"

I will probably get dragged for this, but what a snoozefest.

It's not hard or rare to talk endlessly about getting blown out by psychedelics. They can blast you completely out of yourself if you like. You can kill your ego and go to faraway lands and explore the Universe and meet with the machine elves and dissolve and die and recombine in a million different ways forever.

OK. Cool. Now what? What are you doing with all that? What are you doing with the immense privilege of receiving support from these sacred plant teachers?

This week's episode is all about redefining what psychedelic integration actually means, and how you can lean all the way into yourself and your path home to Spirit.

WORK WITH SINCLAIR

16 Feb 2024EP 084 | The Sacred Witness00:42:34

This week we're exploring the concept of The Sacred Witness. The Observer. The nonjudgmental higher self that lives deep in the center of each of us. It's the presence in us, the calm, wise, sage part of us who's just watching all this. Abraham Hicks calls it your Inner Being. You might hear it called your Highest Self. It's the sacred, holy, all-knowing, almighty, All-That-Is part of you. The part that can see everything, that knows everything, and that is free from attachment, worry, or blame.

The sacred witness is like having your own mentor observing all that unfolds within and around you. Nudging you to detach from ego and identify with your higher consciousness.

In this episode, you'll learn about all the ways the sacred witness guides us through life's twists and turns. It's about being present, accepting, and lovingly observing yourself without judgment. Through this practice, we navigate the murky waters of change, integrating old patterns with newfound wisdom. So, if you're seeking spiritual growth, hop on board the sacred witness train—it's a gentle, yet profound journey toward wholeness and authenticity.

18 Apr 2022EP 024 | How to Create a Good Vibration00:44:13

What does it mean to have “good vibes?” Why do some people seem to exude a positive, effortless good energy? Yet others (maybe even you?) feel like there’s a dark cloud following them around that they can’t get away from? Can you catch bad vibes? Is there a secret on how to create a good vibration in yourself? How do you “seal in” the good vibes after working with plant medicine? Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we are coming to you from the beautiful beach of Ayampe, Ecuador, fresh off many weeks of sitting in ceremony with our medicine family, soaking in good vibes. Is there a secret on how to create a good vibration? (And keep it?) We're determined to find out.

In this episode we uncover the mystery of what to do in your own life to find your unique high vibration. We share about how plant medicines invite attunement to the high vibration that we ALL have inside us, and how to feed that fire. And as always, we talk about what gets in the way, misconceptions about how having a naturally good vibration works, spiritual bypassing, choosing to evolve beyond trauma, and more. This week on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we have the pleasure of having our very first guest on the show – Carlos Tanner, co-founder and Director of the Ayahuasca Foundation in Peru. Carlos was born and raised in the United States and has degrees in both art and philosophy. He moved to Iquitos, Peru in 2004 and lived with his first teacher for four years before creating the Ayahuasca Foundation in 2008. He led every retreat and course at the original retreat center until 2012, when he hired the first two assistant healers and opened the Inkan Kena Plant Medicine School.

In 2013, he stepped back from leading programs to dedicate more time to the administration of the Foundation and to raise his daughter. In 2017, he opened the Riosbo Retreat and Research Center and began hosting medical research in 2018. The phase I study completed at the end of 2019 and the next phase began in 2020. Carlos appeared in the Netflix series Down to Earth with Zac Efron in 2020 and continues to offer unique educational courses and healing retreats, as well as host important research into the traditional use of ayahuasca and plant medicine.

  • Integration, memory, and the practice of changing our truths to be more beneficial to us
  • Creating a work of art based on your healing process that you continue to add details to
  • Storytelling as the magic that connects people
  • The magical legend of the Nihue Rao trees, and the mystical realm
  • Jesus showing up in ayahuasca visions, and his work as a plant healer
  • Being disconnected from our intuition and instinctual knowledge, and being overwhelmed by science and logic to our detriment
  • Plant medicine as the true science
  • Decriminalization
  • Moms and psychedelics
  • And so much more!

06 Oct 2023EP 072 | Nurturing the Divine Feminine with Rea Beaubien, Medicine Woman01:10:33

Rea Beaubien is a medicine woman, ceremonialist, healer, and artist. For more than 20 years she has been a mother, spiritual seeker, and facilitator of ancient rituals in the mountains of Crestone, Colorado. She shares sacred awareness teachings locally and globally, inspiring others to transform. This work brings forth positive and lasting changes contributing to a brighter world. Rea’s mission is rekindling our connection to and nurturing the Divine Feminine as was spoken of in prophecies. She believes that in this shared renaissance we are coaxed to return to who we really are. To play, listen, express, believe, get dirty, surrender – and most of all – to feel. As a result of visions and teachings received under lineages of North America, Rea created Heart of Ma, a global community providing sacred plant medicine retreats for more that 20 years. Heart of Ma offers the opportunity to safely transform, ground, and heal.

In this episode, Rea boldly shares about the toll the medicine path can take on the health and wellness of facilitators and space holders, her difficult decision to slow down and take a break, and her thoughts about the fast-paced, often reckless psychedelic revolution that is happening now.

13 Oct 2023EP 073 | Saying No to Competition and Comparison00:53:55

Does it feel like EVERYTHING is a contest? The vibe of scarcity, not enoughness, and needing to win at all costs is pervasive in our culture. But where did it come from? Why is everything a competition? It actually doesn't have to be this way. Saying NO to competition and comparison is a deep deprogramming that you can start doing right now in your own life. In order to have a better world, we have to believe that it's possible. Many people on the spiritual path are waking up to the understanding that not only does competition not resonate, it's harmful and feels shitty and we don't need it.

Psychedelics are here to show us the path to a new understanding. In this episode, learn how competition and comparison run in the background of our society and why it's each of our responsibility to invite the vibration of collaboration, co-creation, and belonging into our lives instead.

07 Jul 2023EP 063 | How to Trust Fall Into the Arms of The Universe00:51:26

I don't know about y'all, but I'm bored with the whole struggle, suffer, cowering in fear, stagnation thing. The thing is, we aren't meant to stay stuck in our patterns and past forever. We have the power to choose something much more radical and beneficial. So how do you trust fall into the arms of the Universe? What if the answer to the problem is inside the problem, rather than in resisting it or seeking to solve it? Today I am sharing more about the restorative integration path, and how you can choose to lean into your biggest challenges. We're going to meander through thought patterns, values systems, and beliefs and start asking, "How can I trust the Universe here? How can I let go? How can I be still and listen?"

10 Mar 2023EP 048 | Living with Integrity00:58:04

What does living with integrity mean when you are on a spiritual journey with psychedelics?  Integrity is the divine practice of unification. Of wholeness. Of reconnecting your disenfranchised parts and bringing them together in oneness and unity. If you feel drawn to plant medicine and psychedelics as a way to remember your true nature of peace and ease, finding a path to walk through your life with integrity can help get you there. Today on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast I am sharing about the four aspects of living with integrity within yourself and aligning your life with a path of authenticity, self trust, and spirituality.

In this episode, Sinclair shares about:

  • What is the definition of integrity and why should you care?
  • Unification of all of your parts  body, heart, mind, and   spirit
  • Living out of integrity is living outside of your true nature, acting against yourself
  • Recognizing when you are out of integrity with yourself
  • Shedding the ways of being that are not serving you
  • When problems are symptoms and coping mechanisms
  • Self-forgiveness and gentleness as a path to coming home to yourself
  • Feeling ashamed, angry, exhausted, and lost
  • Rupture is how you find repair, going through the darkness is how you find the path of the light
  • Bringing plant medicine and psychedelics on as healing partners that teach you how to be a dimension walker
  • Being out of integrity is part of the journey, you have to have this to learn
  • You don't have to control everything
  • The four parts of integrity and reunifying your holistic being
  • Start with the body, moving your body in a joyful way
  • Creating safety in your nervous system
  • Coming to know the boundaries of your body and your energy
  • Releasing what doesn't serve you
  • Coming into alignment with your heart, your emotional body
  • Not feeling safe to feel your feelings or ask for what you need
  • How I stay in integrity with the podcast
  • Collaboration over competition
  • Going against your heart for a quick gain

26 May 2023EP 057 | Creating Equity and Accessibility00:40:11

I often share about the logistics and behind the scenes experience of working as a self-employed psychedelic life coach in the medicine space. This episode is dedicated to letting you in on how I am shifting my business toward creating equity and accessibility. I have avoided this area for a long time because I wasn't sure how to do it. I was afraid of doing it wrong, of still excluding people, and of being judged for anything I attempted in this realm. What I have realized is that healing cannot exist without attention to equity and accessibility. If it's not open to everyone, it's not really the service I want to offer deep in my heart. At least that's how I feel about my work. Starting today, I am shifting my pricing model to sliding scale, and releasing two digital courses for self-study DIY work you can do all on your own.

I want to live at the intersection of financial abundance and safety for myself and my family, AND serving at a level that feels within reach for more than just folks with economic privilege. I know this isn't perfect, and I am grateful to be taking my first steps to find resonance. Fairness. And to open the way for more people to access my work in a way that supports you. Thanks for listening and being part of my spirit family.

20 Sep 2024EP 111 | Radical Acceptance Without Understanding00:34:21

The path to freedom starts with acceptance

So much of the stuckness and confusion we experience on the path of awakening is because we refuse to accept what is.

It's really that simple.

Are you stuck? Looking backward at the past and wishing things were different? Do you feel an attachment to a story or belief that you know deep down isn't serving you? Are you in conflict with yourself? With someone you love? Why? What is the thing that's true that you can't swallow?

What are you not admitting?

Radical acceptance is...

Owning your shit and your power Taking responsibility Loving the parts of you that you don't like Shadow work Saying yes to all of it Knowing that whatever arises is here to teach and grow you Looking through the lens of compassion and softness Letting go Allowing

In this week's podcast episode I'm sharing about radical acceptance, how to do it, and why you really want to be free from needing it to work out some specific way. Come let go of your need for control. Let go of possible outcomes. Accept and be free.

03 Jun 2022EP 027 | The Ugly Truth About Stress00:46:07

The ugly truth about stress is that everyone hates it and it’s making us sick in a serious way. Stress looks different for everyone, and in this episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we are painting a picture of modern life that feels like treading water, where everything is about to go under. So many of our clients report feeling exhausted, angry, depressed, anxious, and under resourced to handle daily life. Put simply, stress is physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension. This daily struggle inside is seriously taxing the spiritual life that so many people long to experience. We’re stressed and we don’t know how to handle it. Sacred plant medicines and psychedelics are calling more and more people toward living life in a different way, and they can teach you ways to manage stress so that you feel at ease and healthy instead of overwhelmed and frustrated.

In this episode, Sinclair and John share about:

  • A day in the life of almost everyone in modern life, plugged into The Matrix- going nonstop, on autopilot, living out of obligation instead of living in your soul purpose
  • How negative stress manifests as burnout, overwork, anger, irritability, poor connection and relationships
  • Modern life can feel like a trap that you can’t get out of due to so many obligations
  • How you can work with plant medicine to change how you deal with stress, and change your life circumstances on the way
  • Stress is pressure that puts you out of balance, creates tension, and starts ringing the alarm bells to get your attention that something needs to change
  • Getting sick = now you’re paying attention, by the time it reaches the physical body, you’ve ignored the signs for a long time
  • Opening yourself to a new way of understanding how illness is created and manifested, from the consciousness to the body
  • The collective is burned out and stressed out, we are literally burning out the planet
  • Whatever is going on with us internally and individually is what is showing up in our institutions
  • The calling of the plants and psychedelics is to taking responsibility individually so that we can heal ourselves and the whole
  • Negative stress vs. positive stress
  • You have the power to create a positive story from stress that fortifies your vibration and enhances your well being
  • With stress, you are telling yourself a story - I don’t have what I need…
  • The stress is not the problem, how you deal with it is the problem
  • People want plant medicine to solve the problem, and the plants show you that you are doing it to yourself
  • How to recharge your batteries
  • Investing in yourself - time, energy, and money
  • Unplugging the stereo of your stress and going to a retreat, then coming home and plugging it right back in
  • Why it’s cool to be high maintenance and have a spiritual practice
  • How much medicine is too much?
  • Why integration is the only way to make changes stick, no matter how much medicine you use
  • Using medicine to break through to another level, sharpen the tool, and hold space for yourself inside your process
  • A healthy foundation means a healthy physical body, with good habits and prioritizing yourself, your sleep, your health, and your wellness
  • Health and wellness is a lifestyle, too blessed to be stressed is a lifestyle
  • You have the power to decide and choose to change your story , to change your mind, your perspective, your consciousness
  • Doing whatever it takes to change your channel to a feel good channel that supports you

25 Jan 2021EP 003 | How Intention Unlocks the Power of Psychedelics 00:44:27

This week on The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, we're having a conversation about the power of intention to unlock psychedelics and level up our experiences. So many of us find our way to psychedelics through recreational use, and often having fun is the gateway to discovering the magical powers of these master teachers.

When we understand we have the power (through intention) to build a relationship with the spirits of the medicines, rather than just treating the experience as a thing that happens to us outside of our control, well, it's kind of a game changer.

We define and discuss intention, talk about why recreational use unfairly gets a bad rap, and share our personal experiences of transitioning from less mindful recreational use to ceremonial use, and what we've learned along the way. We'll also talk about how to find your intention, shift your mindset, and get the most out of your growing understanding of how psychedelics can heal and help you in your daily life.

It's ok and good to have fun and enjoy yourself, even when you're healing!

Adding intention into the mix, even if that intention is to enjoy yourself, connect with others, and have fun, helps create a conversation with the medicines, allowing an opening to expanding our consciousness and awareness, and leading to personal growth and healing.

21 Jan 2022EP 020 | Rise and Align: Our Psychedelic Life Philosophy00:39:34

Welcome to 2022 and Season 2 of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast! In our first episode of the new year, we're sharing all about our psychedelic integration philosophy, our coaching philosophy, our transformation philosophy, and our life philosophy. (Hint: They're magically all one thing!) Rise and Align is the term we use to describe how we approach working with sacred medicines as a way of life in a long term and transformative way, and today we're going to explain this process in detail for you.

In this episode, John and Sinclair discuss...

  • The expectations you have about medicines and how they work, how they call you
  • What healing actually looks like instead is living by spiritual principles and virtues
  • How the medicines trick you into remembering you're a divine spirit
  • The lifetime process of aligning yourself with the messages from plant medicines
  • Symptoms as messengers – physical illness, emotional trauma, anxiety, depression, lack of direction, addictions
  • Searching for meaning, clarity, and direction is being caused by an unmet need
  • The alarms that bring people to psychedelics and plant medicines
  • Symptoms are coping mechanism that your spirit has sent to you to deal with the root cause of whatever is going on
  • Being out of alignment with your spirit is the root cause of suffering
  • Why so many of us are disconnected from God/Source
  • The sacred psychedelic experience lifts the veil and you see that life is eternal and this is just one aspect of consciousness experiencing itself
  • You are not alone, you are part of a divine plan, and you are light in a physical body
  • So can you just sit in that vibration all the time and not have any symptoms and not be depressed?
  • It can feel like that IF you do the work to align yourself and raise your own vibration every day. It's always there
  • Programming and sinking back into the lower vibration of forgetting the mystical experience
  • Bridging the chasm between the mystical and practical, daily life is a choice
  • Why you actually don't want the medicines to "cure" you
  • Stepping into the power that you have to choose your vibration and aligning yourself with it
  • The pink cloud that happens after the ceremony, the programming returns
  • Jealousy, judgment, anger, and old negative behaviors and attitudes pathways are strong, they have some momentum
  • People expect you to be the "old" you after medicine, so it can feel lonely to make these shifts into a new way of living and thinking
  • The idea that you have to figure it all out alone after the medicine
  • Everyone on Instagram is lying to you, medicine work is not easy, it's messy, and it's not love and light all the time
  • The media you consume actively tries to fill in the new path you're digging with fear, scarcity, and lack
  • Getting support is so important as you transition and transform with medicines, rise into your new vibration, and align your life with your new awareness
  • A story about an old man and a young man in a tree chopping contest
  • AND MORE!
06 Feb 2021EP 005 | WTF Is Spiritual Alchemy?!?00:44:35

We're getting a little esoteric on this week's episode of The Psychedelic Integration Podcast, aiming to challenge some of the limiting narratives we see around psychedelics and what they actually do for us, as well as to inspire some critical thinking and understanding of what psychedelic integration looks like in practice. So, WTF is spiritual alchemy?

Join us for a conversation about the historical origins of alchemy and where this concept comes from, all the way into our modern day thinking where we run into all kinds of myths and misconceptions around the actual methods of transforming darkness into light. What does that actually look like in daily life, and how can psychedelics help awaken us to our own magical powers of creation? We'll talk about what being a real life spiritual alchemist really looks like, and we'll give you some guidance on how to turn on the lights in your own psychedelic healing journey.

Emily Jenkins, BSN, RN, RYT 200 is a registered nurse specializing in neurosciences with a focus on Eastern medicine, meditation techniques, non-ordinary states of consciousness, plant medicine integration, and microdosing. She is the founder of Bright Ages, an entheogenic coaching practice focused on serving millennials who are feeling depressed, anxious, lonely, or “unhappy without reason.” She combines integrative and holistic medicine in her offerings.

In college, after suffering the sudden loss of her father at the age of 18, she fell into a deep depression. Only a few years later, she lost her dear cousin to an overdose. Her anxiety and depression continued to worsen - over a ten year period she struggled with debilitating mental illness, self harm, addiction, and suicidal ideation.

She worked with many different providers and practitioners over the years but nothing stuck - therapy, medication, sobriety, and everything in between. As she was approaching the end of her rope she felt the call to work with Ayahuasca. Since that experience, her life has undergone a complete transformation.

Accompanied by the grace and support of a loving community, she has been able to transition from surviving to thriving. Her purpose is to share this experience with anyone who is ready and willing. Healing is possible.

She is actively involved with organizations such as the Isha Foundation, Truth is One, and devotion to Her Holiness Amma Sri Karunamayi. Her wish is for each person to find all the vitality, freedom, and joy life has to offer.

15 Jul 2022EP 030 | USMC Veteran Ray Murphy, Founder of Warriors Healing Network on Healing C-PTSD with Ayahuasca00:55:05

It might surprise you to learn that more and more military combat veterans are looking to psychedelics and plant medicines for help. For a lot of vets, returning into society is the beginning of a long and arduous process of coming back home to themselves. In one major study of 60,000 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, 13.5% of deployed and non-deployed veterans screened positive for PTSD, while other studies show the rate to be as high as 20% to 30%. As many as 500,000 U.S. troops who served in these wars over the past 13 years have been diagnosed with PTSD.

PTSD, C-PTSD, and other life-threatening mental health issues, including addiction, depression, anxiety, and suicide have been the result for military and police men and women serving in combat zones, and under dangerous working conditions as part of their jobs. This week on the podcast, we are speaking with USMC Veteran Ray Murphy, Founder of Warriors Healing Network. Ray is a U.S. Marine Veteran who served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, and has since worked extensively as a consultant for law enforcement as a K9 unit trainer.

Ray has firsthand experience with C-PTSD and the shortfalls of finding treatment and relief inside the system, especially through the VA. Earlier this year, Ray attended a plant medicine retreat in Costa Rica where he worked with ayahuasca in ceremony, and found it to be an effective treatment for PTSD in his own life. This healing experience led him to found Warriors Healing Network, a nonprofit organization that helps facilitate psychedelic treatment for combat veterans and police officers who have been diagnosed with PTSD and need financial support to access medicine.

In this episode, Ray shares about his own personal experience with PTSD as a military veteran, his many failed treatment attempts through traditional healthcare, and finally feeling called to experience ayahuasca for himself, which led to healing his PTSD. We talk about the hardships of being in military and police service, and how the traditional system is leaving people behind, which is why psychedelics are so promising as a treatment for this specific population.

21 Nov 2024EP 117 | Finding the Willingness to Change01:06:09

There is a chasm between awareness and action...

Sometimes it feels like we all signed up for REALLY HARD LIFETIMES. Like, did I not read the Terms and Conditions before getting into this body? WTF did I sign up for and WHY is it so hard to change?

Conscious change requires willingness to participate. Even when you don't like where things are going.

Sometimes it can feel impossible to break out of the ways things ARE. Reality is reality, right? This is what's real. The actual facts of your actual life... But how much of that is really true? And how much is a magic show of limited beliefs?

Maybe you have begun to tap into some new ideas and ways of thinking. And this can be SO SCARY! Letting go of systems and structures that contain your reality is no joke.

It's a big dicey game of building your capacity for more. More confidence in uncertainty, more ability to sit in discomfort, face your fears, unshame yourself, leave situations and people and jobs and places that don't serve you, and generally become a dimension walking shadow integrator.

If all this sounds dramatic, that's because IT IS. Living a life that is killing you is the most fucking dramatic thing that exists. And it is literally a spiritual emergency to do something about it. Learn how on this week's show.

22 Sep 2023EP 070 | Plant Dietas and The Iboga Experience with Leo van Veenendaal01:07:50

Leo van Veenendaal is an Australian environmental engineer, adventurer, author, and apprentice of plant medicines. Early in his adult life he suffered from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and treatment resistant depression. At a point of desperation, he began working with indigenous plant medicines in 2016 to heal IBS, his gut, and his brain. It worked. In 2018 Leo was initiated into Fang Dissumba Bwiti at Ebando in Gabon where he took part in an iboga ceremony. He has continued working with and learning about plant medicines since, moving to South America in 2020 to continue his studies. Leo is passionate about helping ensure plant medicine's thriving, longevity, respectful use and conservation. His first book "The Iboga Experience" was released in February 2023. His second book "Mind Engineering" will be released in late 2024.

When I think of Leo, I think of a big hearted dude who loves learning from and conventing with plants in the jungle. I think of deep conversation with a thoughtful and open hearted man. And of a spirit brother who has a magical connection with sacred tobacco and mapacho. Leo is a humble soul traveler who has dedicated his life to learning about the power of plants in a respectful way. In this episode, he shares about how he came to meet plant medicines, his plant companions in the jungle, and offers solid guidance about iboga, one of the most powerful psychoactive plants in the world.

29 Mar 2024EP 090 | Sound, Patience, and Womanhood with Christiana Schelfout01:06:33

Christiana Schelfout is a healing artist raised between Portugal and New York by an Irish American mother and a German father. She lived firstly in the wild, windswept Algarve, and then in the lush Long Island suburbs. Communion with nature and self-expression through song, dance, art, and theater were her basis for self-regulation and expansion.

At 20, a call for healing brought her to the study and practice of classical yoga and tantra. In traveling to the origins of global spiritual traditions and connecting with her ancestry, she was awakened to the world of spiritual herbalism and ceremony. These traditions led her down a path of inquiry into the healing potential of the descension process, devotion to the body, earth and mother. This was supported by studying matriarchal histories, women’s health and birth.

Today, through the support of her community, she shares the experience of soul directed living, healing and wellbeing. Christiana carries the embodied experience of recovering from mental and physical illness. In 2018, after five years of community based offerings, she spent four years creating and then leading the yoga and retreat programs at Shou Sugi Ban House, a multidimensional wellness center in New York. Over a decade of student-ship and work experience in holistic healing and curation support the vision of Animate Healing.

On this week's show, Christiana and I meander through the nuances of presence found through sound healing, cultivating patience, and exploring the mystery of womanhood, moon blood, how bone broth is Nature's nourishing elixir, and more. Christiana is such a gift to my life and I'm so grateful to share her heart wisdom with you.

02 Nov 2023EP 074 | Returning to Medicines of the Earth with Stacey Constante, RN00:59:28

Stacey M. Constante is Ecuadorian, first generation born in the U.S. She is a women’s holistic hormone practitioner, nutritionist, herbalist, registered nurse, and mother. She has been following the medicine path through the Americas for the last six years. Along the way she has been slowly merging the teachings of allopathic and ancestral medicine.

Stacey began her career as an ER nurse. While working at different hospitals, she noticed the gaps in modern medicine. As she grew her relationship with plant medicine, she could no longer look away from the broken system we have been led to believe in. She felt she was sending patients through a revolving door with more questions than when they arrived. She began to question why nutrition, herbs, mental health, and other ancient healing modalities were not being spoken of. It was medication after medication, a quick fix, but never mentioning lifestyle changes or getting to the root of the problem.

Having suffered with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and substance abuse, Stacey also developed late-stage endometriosis at age 25. She was told she may not be able to have children and that this was a chronic condition she simply had to live with. She turned towards acupuncture, nutrition, and herbs. She sat with sacred plant medicines in ceremony settings from North America to South America. Since then, she has spent her time learning about medicinal herbs and plant knowledge from many indigenous keepers and from the plants themselves.

The frustration she felt immersed in allopathic medicine inspired her to walk a different path. She believes one of the most empowering moments is when we discover we have the ability to heal ourselves. We just need to provide our being the necessary tools it needs to do so.

30 Jun 2023EP 062 | Let Your Food Be Medicine with Ale Abregú of We Are Heartful01:19:18

My medicine brother Ale Abregú is a plant-based chef and retreat facilitator, and expert in nutrition and how to let your food be medicine. Born in Argentina, he learned the art of food preparation in his family, connecting to his indigenous roots in Paraguay, and working as a chef in restaurants. There he learned that intention, care, and presence were missing in the process of modern food creation. The food was overcharged with stress, tension, and hurry.

Ale then received training in Hygienist Nutrition in Argentina and Spain, and embarked on a journey to promote mindful and nourishing culinary practices. He currently facilitates his magic in healing retreats, workshops on healthy cooking, and offering detoxification programs as a nutrition mentor. As a male birth doula, he supports partners in understanding nutrition and detoxification during the conception process. Ale's mission is to deconstruct false beliefs about food and health, fostering a balanced and nourishing connection to support personal well-being.

05 Dec 2024EP 119 | Impossible Healing: Overcoming ALS with Andrew Fletcher01:08:20

This is a story of impossible healing.

One of the biggest blessings I have in my life is getting to meet and work with inspiring people doing big time miracles in their lives with plant medicines. In the last year, I have had the immense pleasure of getting to know and work with my soul brother Andrew Fletcher.

On the surface, Andrew's life was going great. He was a practicing doctor and lawyer. He had a beautiful wife, spacious home, and plenty of money. But inside he was battling a deep lack of worthiness that no amount of success or achievement could solve. The only heartfelt emotion he had the capacity to experience was anger.

Soon after he graduated from law school, he began to have muscle twitching in his hands that eventually progressed to his legs. He went to see a neurologist and was eventually diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS is defined as "a fatal neurological disorder that causes the gradual deterioration of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord."

After a four year battle for his life inside the traditional medical system, he began to look deeper within and seek out holistic healing, spirituality, and plant medicine. His relationship with the ALS began to change from one of war, to one of radical acceptance.

In this week's episode, hear in depth about Andrew's impossible healing journey into mindbody medicine, psychedelics, integration, and how he stopped the ALS in its tracks and is no longer seeing progression of this illness. (And no longer identifies as having it at all.)
