My conversation with Alison Silgardo of the Seniors Services Society of BC is an eye-opener about the issues plaguing seniors. The most prevalent problem among seniors is homelessness. Alison talks about the actions being taken and actions that need to be taken to help seniors especially those from the lower-income group.

In the interview,   Diana  shares how she set out on an eight-day solo road trip through parts of British Columbia and Alberta.  She also talked about how she made a conscious effort to be in the moment to let her surroundings, guide her to feelings of peace and gratitude.

In her first travelogue, Mohrsen brings the reader along on the four thousand-kilometer journeys through her photographs, by noting the animals and scenery she sees, and by reflecting on the beauty and spirituality of the world around her. As she slows her life down and appreciates each moment, she is open to the unexpected. It is this encounter with the unexpected that can take a traveler to a secret destination.

Global News Morning BC Anchor Paul Haysom talks about his passion and trade secrets with Canada Wide Media Chairman and CEO Dr. Peter Legge, OBC. 

Paul comes to BC from Calgary where he anchored their Global News at 11 newscast. Before joining Global News Calgary, Haysom worked in B.C. where he was an award-winning anchor and reporter for CHEK-TV on Vancouver Island, before moving to Global BC where he was a producer and anchor.

Some of Paul’s career highlights include broadcasting live from the middle of the Stanley Cup riots in Vancouver in 2011 and covering the 2010 Winter Olympics. Paul also flew in to help the Global Calgary team cover the unprecedented floods in southern Alberta in June, 2013.

Away from work, Paul is an avid hockey player who also loves golf, tennis and running. A collector of vinyl records, he is also trying to master the guitar.

However, storytelling and news are Paul’s passions. “Both my parents were journalists. It’s in my blood, and always will be.”
