02 May 2024The Greatest Game in the World (feat. Brendan Morrison)00:55:31

In this episode, I had the privilege of interviewing Brendan Morrison, a former NHL forward and esteemed Canuck legend. Morrison played for seven NHL teams over the course of his illustrious fifteen-season career (the New Jersey Devils, Vancouver Canucks, Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, Washington Capitals, Calgary Flames, and the Chicago Blackhawks) and amassed over 600 points before retiring in 2012. Notably, he holds one of the longest ironman streaks in NHL history at 542 consecutive games played and the pivotal role he played as a member of one of the most lethal forward lines ever constructed (the iconic 'West Coast Express' line) further solidified his status as a hockey legend.

Recently, Brendan launched a YouTube channel where he offers top-notch game analysis with a focus on his former team, the Vancouver Canucks. I selected the best questions from the hundreds you guys sent in, all of which shared a common theme—gaining insight into the experience of being an NHL player.

14 Nov 2024Canucks Prospect Deep Dive (feat. Dave Hall)01:04:18

In this episode, I sit down with Dave Hall, a writer for Canucks Army who covers every prospect in the Vancouver Canucks’ system. We dive into a range of players, from the well-known (Jonathan Lekkerimäki, Tom Willander, and Elias Pettersson) to the nearly unheard of (Ty Mueller, Aku Koskenvuo, and Sawyer Mynio). We also chat about the lost art of the blue-line slap shot that once had penalty killers ducking for cover—think Sami Salo, Zdeno Chara, and Shea Weber.

But before any of that, I start off by airing my frustration with Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Jeannot and his gutless, illegal check to the head of Brock Boeser.

Thanks for tuning in, everyone!

01 Feb 2025This Jim Rutherford Interview Is Raising Eyebrows00:44:15

In this episode, I break down everything Jim Rutherford said in his recent interview with Gary Mason of the Globe and Mail—and why I think this might be a game of 4D chess rather than a reckless act of frustration. I also respond to some of your thoughts on the drama. Sorry for the late upload—I was sidelined with an undisclosed lower-body injury this morning, but I’m good to go now.

24 Oct 2024Elias Pettersson Is Still Elias Pettersson (feat. Carl)01:01:19

In this episode, I chat with Carl about the Vancouver Canucks’ current three-game win streak, Elias Pettersson’s struggles (and when we think he’ll bounce back), the Quinn Hughes vs. Cale Makar debate, and the NHL's new "Global Series." Carl also ranks his top-5 Canucks of all time, and we dive into his terribly strange living situation. Hope y'all enjoy this one! – Nuckhead

11 Apr 2024How to Get through a Bad Season (feat. DeanerHD)00:42:41

This episode features fellow Canuck fan and independent creator, DeanerHD. A few weeks ago, comments started popping up on both of our YouTube channels asking us to collaborate with one another and I figured that this podcast would be the best way for us to do that. We selected a handful of viewer-submitted questions including "How do you get through a bad season?" and "What is the best trade in Canucks history?" and hit record. Hope you guys enjoy!

23 May 2024What It’s Like to Play for the Vancouver Canucks (feat. Eddie Läck)00:33:53

In this episode I interview another ex-NHLer and Canuck legend – Eddie "The Stork" Läck. Eddie signed with the Vancouver Canucks as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Over the next two seasons, he refined his skills with their AHL affiliates, initially with the Manitoba Moose and later with the Chicago Wolves. His big break came in October 2013 when he earned a spot on the NHL roster, serving as backup to Roberto Luongo. Eddie swiftly endeared himself to fans, not only with his exceptional goaltending but also with his infectious and often comical personality. Today, that same charisma defines his role as a realtor and fuels his mischievous antics on Twitter. Thank you so much for watching, listening, commenting and engaging with the content I've created all season. I'm not going anywhere so stay tuned!

25 Apr 2024Thatcher Demko Is Injured00:28:00

In this episode I gush about the Vancouver Canucks' emotional game one win over the Nashville Predators. I react to the news of Thatcher Demko's injury and discuss the impact it might have on the team moving forward. I predict the score of game two and may have slightly embarrassed myself doing so.

Also, Canuck legend, Brendan Morrison will be the featured guest on next week's episode so if you have a question for him, record yourself asking it and send it to nuckhead.viewers@gmail.com.

28 Nov 2024Are the Canucks Stanley Cup Contenders? (feat. David Quadrelli)00:20:50

In this episode, I have a quick chat with Canucks Army writer and Canucks Conversation co-host, David Quadrelli. Can Kiefer Sherwood become the first player in NHL history to surpass 400 hits in a single season—or even 500?! Is it safe to say Elias Pettersson is officially “back”? And are Nils Höglander’s days with the Canucks numbered? Hope you’re all having a great week! Don’t miss Canucks Convo, live on YouTube and X every weekday at 2 PM PT! – Nuckhead

13 Jun 2024Re: I'm Just Here for the Riot00:13:28
In this (very short) episode, I wanted to share my thoughts on the new "30 for 30" documentary that aired on ESPN last week. "I'm Just Here for the Riot" covers the 2011 Stanley Cup riot in Vancouver following Game 7 of the Finals between the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins. In my opinion, some of the negative reviews it has received are driven by resurfaced anger, which is understandable. However, I believe this anger is leading to a misunderstanding of the filmmaker’s intent and that’s what I wanted to talk about. Hope you enjoy this shorter episode. Back to the regular scheduled programming next Thursday!
28 Mar 2024Answering More of Your Questions00:25:12

In this episode of "the nuckhead podcast," I respond to more of your Canucks-related and YouTube-related questions. I talk about what and who inspired me to start all of this and my plans moving forward. I also offer some pointers on how to deal with bone-headed Canucks-haters (very serious). Thanks for listening everyone!

21 Mar 2024The Night Nils Höglander Beat Me in Ping Pong00:32:58

In this inaugural episode of "The Nuckhead Podcast," I answer viewer-submitted questions, tackling topics ranging from comparing the current Vancouver Canucks team to the iconic 2011 squad to discussing the infamous President's Trophy Curse. I explore the potential re-signings of Canucks players on expiring contracts and delve into who I believe is the most underrated player on the team this season.

Additionally, I take a look at the looming playoffs and analyze which teams might pose the biggest threats to the Canucks' postseason aspirations. I also explore personal preferences, including my favourite non-Canuck hockey player of all time and cherished Canucks-related memories. But the episode wouldn't be complete without me sharing the story of when Canucks forward, Nils "Big Hög" Höglander, challenged me to a game of ping pong and won. Thanks for listening!

27 Mar 2025Discussing the Current State of the Canucks’ Season (feat. DeanerHD)00:36:10

In this episode, I’m joined once again by my good pal and fellow Canucks content creator, DeanerHD, for what I think is his fifth appearance on the show. It’s been a while since we talked last, and A LOT has happened—including a little tiny trade involving J.T. MILLER. We get into that, plus last night's matchup against Bo Horvat and the New York Islanders.

30 May 2024My Favourite YouTuber (feat. Pinholes Graham)00:46:29

In this episode, I chat with Pinholes Graham, a fellow content creator who, in my opinion, produces the best hockey-related videos on YouTube. If you haven't seen his work yet, start with his most popular video, "You Are Being Mythologized (Do Not Resist) – The Career of Carey Price," which has garnered over 130,000 views at the time of writing this. After that, dive into his captivating "Playoffs Past" series, where he explores nostalgic playoff matchups from the late nineties and early two-thousands – you won't regret it. Once you've finished, don't miss his hilarious "LOHL" series, where he straight-facedly covers an entirely fictitious league with absurd player names (and is only updated once a year, on April Fool's Day). Thanks for listening!

In this episode, I reconnect with fellow Canucks content creator DeanerHD to catch up on everything Vancouver Canucks. 06 Jun 2024Talking About the Canucks for Two Hours (feat. DeanerHD)02:00:36
In this episode I’m joined by fellow content-creator, DeanerHD. We spend two hours chatting about all things Vancouver Canucks; from their heartbreaking game seven loss against the Edmonton Oilers to Elias Pettersson’s “knee injury.” We also try to solve their offseason puzzle by choosing which UFAs/RFAs we’d sign if we had the power to do so. Hope you enjoy this much longer instalment of the show! New videos coming next week!
07 Nov 2024Canucks Trade Rumours and Injury Updates (feat. Satiar Shah)01:05:01

In this episode, I chat with Canucks Central and Canucks game host Satiar Shah. We share our thoughts on the Vancouver Canucks’ first ten games of the season and discuss whether they’re showing signs of being true Stanley Cup contenders or not. I ask Satiar for the latest scoop on when we might see Thatcher Demko back on the ice, and where he expects Dakota Joshua to slot into the Canucks’ lineup when he's back from injury. We also take a moment to give the vastly underrated Teddy Blueger his due and explore the chances of seeing Jonathan Lekkerimäki in the lineup this year. We dig into the building trade buzz around the team and analyze which defenders might be on the Canucks’ radar. Could it be Bowen Byram? Dante Fabbro? Damon Severson? Jakob Chychrun? And, of course, I had to get Satiar’s take on what might be going on with Vancouver’s superstar center, Elias Pettersson.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg! There’s plenty more, so give it a full listen, follow Satiar Shah on X, and be sure to tune into Canucks Central on weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and after every Canucks game.

Thanks for listening, Nuckheads! 🫡

06 Dec 2024Should the Canucks Trade Nils Höglander?00:50:26

In this episode, I talk about what’s really going on with Nils Höglander—does Rick Tocchet have it out for him? I also cover the Canucks’ need for defensive depth, Quinn Hughes’ Hart Trophy potential, and whether Cole Sillinger could be joining the team. On top of that, I share what I’ve learned since starting the nuckhead YouTube channel, discuss Tyler Myers’ basketball skills, and question if Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen are the NHL’s top goalie duo.

I also explore whether Noah Juulsen is ready to level up, debate who’s the real best defenceman—Quinn Hughes or Cale Makar—and share my thoughts on Conor Garland and the J.T. Miller “situation.”

Oh, and I can't wait to see “Daddy Mäki" make "the mesh go smacky smacky" on a regular basis.

In this episode, I’m joined by Jeff Paterson, host of the Canucks post-game show RinkWide Vancouver and senior writer at Canucks Army. Jeff and I talk about why the Canucks are struggling to find success on home ice this season, Filip Hronek’s injury and the team’s defensive concerns, Nils Höglander’s slump and whether Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford might consider a trade, and possible line combinations for Elias Pettersson once J.T. Miller returns—including whether rookie Jonathan Lekkerimäki could be a fit. Thanks for listening, everyone!

10 Oct 2024Bold Predictions for the 2025 NHL Season00:36:23

In this episode, I share my boldest predictions for the new NHL season, from the Toronto Maple Leafs finally making it past the second round to Utah HC making the playoffs in their inaugural season. I’ll also be responding to your bold predictions, from Artūrs Šilovs winning the Calder Trophy to the Edmonton Oilers missing the playoffs. Plus, I’ll be reacting to last night’s season opener between the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames. Apologies for the delay—had some upload issues, but we’re all set now. Also, sorry for swearing so much this episode! Thanks for tuning in, everyone!

In this episode I take a closer look at the rumoured drama surrounding the Vancouver Canucks dressing room. I break down what’s being said and explore whether there’s any truth to the speculation. To help me navigate the situation, I’m joined by friend of the show, Carl, who shares his perspective on the rumours. At the end of the episode, I switch gears and ask Carl some of your burning questions about his current living situation. It's a good one! Apologies for the tardiness!
