02 Oct 2019 | Episode 223 - Amadoing a Bakayoko | 00:57:57
The last minute is probably the best minute. It certainly seems that way. City remain unbeaten in the league thanks to Baka doing what he does best: unexpected goal. The Lamptey chaps work through the enjoyable Doncaster game and have a think about how things are looking for us after ten games.
09 May 2016 | Episode 123 - KC and the Sunshine Band | 01:31:09

02 Sep 2022 | Episode 264 - Dom Bye-am | 01:03:44
August was broadly rubbish. The Niis are aware of this. However, we now have some flat grass to play on and the transfer window has finally SLAMMED SHUT... and we didn't lose any of the fancy players we thought we might. Although we did lose lovely Dominic Hyam, who actually was one of the fancy players (even if he and many other people didn't realise it). That is ever such a shame. Stupid energy bills. So, after a few games and an equal amount of losses, things aren't quite perfect. Let's break things down for you. Twitter: @niilampteyshow
29 Sep 2016 | Episode 130 - Mow Bitter Blues | 01:09:00
It's sad how regular this has become. Just over 18 months passes, another manager leaves. (shit)

23 Sep 2013 | Episode 44 - The Urquhart Conspiracy | 00:45:22
This week: The Niis are re-adjusting to life as supporters of a team that can lose. Turns out it's not that difficult. The team is still good, and the guys make sure to acknowledge that point following the weekend's defeat to Pork Vale. Contains Franck the Tank love.
11 May 2021 | Episode 248 - End of season Lamptey | 01:43:55
And just like that, the season was complete. Far calmer than any of us predicted, thankfully. The Niis convene to discuss our ultimately favourable return season to the Championship, featuring the views of Joey, Paul, Dom and Imogen. Twitter: @niilampteyshow

The Niis salute a mighty fine point in the face of adversity, an absolutely mental tackle by Michael Doyle, and the wondrous stride of Tom Bayliss. PS. All is forgiven Michael, you absolute lunatic.
27 Oct 2020 | Episode 242 - The Kastanaissance | 01:29:29

The 2024/25 season is upon us and things are very different in the world of Coventry City, but not in the house of Lamptey. Joey, Neil, Imogen and Dom deliver the same standard of insight and nonsense as always. Let's preview this thing! Twitter: @niilampteyshow

07 Feb 2013 | Episode 24: The Ricoh horror show | 01:00:19
This week: It's the day after the night before, and the Niis aren't feeling too good. Can they find a way of rationalising what happened? Is the JPT dream completely over? Will Ed ruin Going for Gould again? There's only one way to find out - by treating yourself to another little slice of Lamptey goodness. It'll make you feel better, honest. Contains straw clutching.
29 Nov 2013 | Episode 51 - Spitfire Maguire | 00:56:40
This week: The goal difference has been obliterated and it's time for the Niis to investigate. Were we really that bad this week? Is it always Jordan Clarke's fault by default? 14 Feb 2018 | Episode 174 - That Train's Never Late | 01:02:37

16 Oct 2013 | Episode 46 - T-Shirt Wars | 00:50:38
This week: The Niis are feeling refreshed following a short break to bask in the success of the previous episode. In an unprecedented twist, each member of the panel was actually able to watch the Sheffield Utd game (in some fashion), so the focus takes a welcome detour back to the world of football. Turns out, that can be quite fun. Contains an unexplained disappearing act.
09 Apr 2018 | Episode 181 - Notts very good | 01:10:37
The Niis ponder consecutive defeats and whether Robins fiddling and guessing is a good idea at such a crucial stage of the season. Spoiler: It's not.
21 Aug 2017 | Episode 154 - Must... Resist... Urge... To be... Negative | 01:06:57
Normal service is resumed as the Nii's get their teeth into the first league defeat of the season and an incredibly frustrating 90 minutes They try not to judge players too quickly (but do) try not to bang on about the Duck too much (but do) and try not to want to Carl Baker back (but do) but despite these failures the pod (as usual) is a massive bloody success Plugs: skybluesblog.co.uk niilampteyshow.co.uk sidewayssammy.wordpress.com thelonelyseason.club

08 Feb 2017 | Episode 140 - Real life, actual, no jokes... WEMBLEY!!! | 00:53:43
This is what football is all about It's not about awful owners or stadium woes. It's about matches and the prospect of playing at Wembley and winning a trophy. The Niis couldn't be happier (which is still a pretty low level of relative happiness - they are miserable curmudgeons bear in mind.) They briefly cover the Millwall game then go on to talk about Wycombe and officially declare the Oldham game and Yakubu 'big'. If you fancy being bloody lovely then could you pop over to iTunes and give us a decent review please? I think it helps us reach more people - thanks
22 Apr 2022 | Episode 262 - Bournemingham | 01:00:22
Balls to this! One week ago we were about to embark upon a flurry of potential play-off excitement... a week later it all feels pretty impossible again. Not to worry. Joey, Neil and Dom are here to get you through, with all the great chats about two very different Easter games against Birmingham and Bournemouth. Twitter: @niilampteyshow
10 Mar 2016 | Episode 117 - Kind of (sky) Blue | 01:07:41
Last week's extended audio suicide note was so enjoyable that we thought we'd do it again. Neil is back in hizouse talking Rochdale but he can't lift the gloom as he bemoans the inexorable decline of the last few months. With Laurie presumably having thrown himself off a cliff, under a bus and into a bath tub (while holding a plugged in toaster) we drafted in friend of the pod and the only non original Nii to have appeared in all four seasons of the pod (probably) CJ Joiner to talk about the Shrewsbury game. Off the field James Maddison's tweet is given the short amount of air time such a non entity of a story deserves and the Niis talk about the reasons for our current malaise, what (if anything can be done) and fan reactions. None of it makes for happy listening Finally there's one more week to enter the Art of Football t shirt competition. To enter, send an email to niilampteyshow@gmail.com detailing your saddest tale of Coventry supporting woe. The best will be read out next week and the bestest will win the T Shirt. Don't forget to head to Art of Football to check out the awesome Houchen design available as a t shirt or a print. They're proper bo

This week: You know exactly what. We're home! The excitement is definitely too much for the Niis as they attempt to cram a weekly podcast and all the hoopla about the Ricoh return into a single episode. This is bumper. So maybe break it up with a cup of tea, trip to the loo, or a jigsaw puzzle. Contains DELIGHT.
26 Aug 2012 | Emergency podcast - The sacking of Thorn | 00:38:15
It's just about Thorn getting sacked.
22 Mar 2024 | Episode 274 - Back by the mildest demand | 01:41:56

Joey, Neil, Dom and Imogen (with a special appearance from Laurie) bring the joy. Twitter: @niilampteyshow

The Bloody Lads bring you some sunshine in the form of their analysis of the last two games
19 Nov 2018 | Episode 201 - A league defeat, you say | 00:57:16
This week the Niis ruminate about losing a league game for the first time in weeks. Burton were better which made it slightly easier to assess. Features some Laurie, on account of Laurie being on this week.
07 Mar 2017 | Episode 144 - Fossil Slayed (The Semi-Emergency Podcast) | 00:42:47
We should have been recording a podcast anyway but we weren't going to after an unusually consistent run of them (well, in terms of frequency of output at least) but then a curious Sunday forced our hand. We share our feelings on Robins coming back (mixed) and Slade leaving (unequivocally positive)
| |||
30 Jul 2019 | Episode 217 - The Trillion Trophy Podcast | 01:04:54
So, we support a football club that plays at St Andrews. It's weird, right? The Niis are back for an eighth season. Joey is joined by Neil and Dom as they chat daft groundshare, beautiful kits, and funky wingers. Let's do this.
15 Aug 2018 | Episode 191 - Footballing Aesthetes and Anabolic Juggernauts | 01:06:23

02 May 2016 | Episode 122 - Mouth/Trousers Ratio | 01:39:17

It's quite long | |||
24 Sep 2015 | Episode 105 - Glory | 00:57:21
Another week, another win. Being awful is so 1988 to May 2015... In between speculating about the pronunciation of Tom Soares' surname and Paul's chances of taking over from Brendan Rogers we take the time to celebrate a decent performance and bemoan some questionable decision making in our victory over Chesterfield. As usual time is spent fawning over Romain Vincelot and (despite his injury, nothing can stop us) James Maddison whilst Marc Antoine Fortune inspires what no-one is calling a 'Classic Knowlian Rant' Warning: Contains more begging for votes. Speaking of which, please head to www.footballbloggingawards.co.uk to vote for us as best football Podcast at the 2015 FBas and for Neil's www.skybluesblog.co.uk as best club blog in the very same awards. If you're a twitterer then head to @niilampteyshow and @skybluesblog for details of how to vote on there too. 06 Jan 2015 | Episode 84 - Over The Moon (River) | 00:56:44
Happy New Year! Sorry we've not been around much lately but any fondness your heart may have accrued will dissipate pretty quickly upon listening. Paul loosely describes a website he doesn't know the name of, Joey makes AWFUL puns about a singer he doesn't know in lieu of any real analysis and special guest Liam Sutcliffe (@LiamDSutty) attempts to make some sense of a surprise win at Walsall Contains 100% less Neil than normal

| |||

The Niis also mentally prepare for the BIG FIXTURE this weekend, and ponder just how "nil-nil" it might potentially be.
03 Apr 2018 | Episode 180 - WTF | 01:29:03
The Niis are joined by Laurie to balance their time equally across the Easter fixtures, but naturally focus the majority of their attention on that bad thing that happened on Monday.
18 Apr 2017 | Episode 149 - Our Lowest Ebb | 00:58:08
Relegation is confirmed as Coventry bow out of League One with a whimper. The boys talk Charlton and ticket prices and look down to another miserable season, this time in a League we've not seen in over 60 years. What a farce
09 May 2019 | Episode 216 - A review of a very regular season | 01:12:38
So, we didn't make the play-offs. Obviously last season was more fun because of that, but on the plus side, we all get a slightly longer summer break this time around. The Niis run through an 8th place finish and talk through the highs, lows, and controversy from a reasonably OK, if often uneventful, League One campaign. Thank you for all your listens and questions and general engagement this year. It's much appreciated. If you like what we do, as a special gift please bung us a rating or review before you head off to Benidorm. We look forward to seeing you all again next season. One love.

04 Oct 2024 | Episode 282 - Return of the Participators | 01:06:04
Leeds = bad. Blackburn = loads better. It's been a wonky old fortnight. We lost some games and a few people started to worry. Unfortunately, some of those worriers were also the current set of players and that included a dreadful performance against Leeds. However, at the point when everyone thought we were bound for the Championship rubbish bin, we turned up again and beat one of the only unbeaten teams in the league, and did so fairly convincingly. The Niis investigate how this could possible happen. Twitter: @niilampteyshow

#standard Neil is off the grid this week so Dom steps up to provide some positivity to balance Paul's comfortingly curmudgeonly take on a joyful 4-0 win against a desperate Gary McSheffrey toting Grimsby side. That's a very long sentence but I don't have the energy to cut it down
01 Oct 2015 | Episode 106 - Burry | 00:51:32
Two of the three Niis (of orient are...) made the short journey home from Bury and are now talking about it in your ears. 12 May 2020 | A special Nii Lamptey Show interview with Chris Kirkland | 01:46:24
Hello team. After a little lockdown interval, we're back with another really special interview. This week the lovely Chris Kirkland has entered Lamptey's virtual house to share his story - from his first stand-in keeper appearance as a kid, to playing for Cov in the Prem, big money moves, and an England debut. We hope you enjoy. Twitter: @niilampteyshow
18 Jan 2022 | Episode 258 - Beating Peterborough | 00:52:50
Happy New Year, kids and adults, etc. Did you see us the other day, duffing somebody up? Been a while, but that was excellent to see. Specifically because we'd largely forgotten what 3 points (or playing league football) felt like. Joey, Neil and Dom discuss this feeling alongside some rather eyebrow-raising decisions by Mark, which ultimately worked out wonderfully. All the best. Twitter: @niilampteyshow
31 Jan 2018 | Episode 172 - Dom and Neil's Excellent Adventure | 01:07:18
Mainly carvery and Keanu Reeves chat this week.
03 Nov 2016 | Episode 132 - Footballing Neanderthals | 00:43:28
Blurb | |||
22 Jan 2013 | Episode 22 - Fleck's education | 01:01:25
This week: There are two wins for the podders to swoon over, as well as a timely re-assessment of our centre back pairing, and the function of John Fleck in the squad. Contains confectionery snobbery.
08 Aug 2013 | Episode 38 - Sides of the fence | 01:04:09
This week: The Lamptey team for 2013/14 are back. Joey, Neil and Paul look over the opening week's football, Carl Baker's fan control, and once again discuss the burning issue of Northampton. Contains balance and fairness. It really does.
24 Apr 2019 | Episode 215 - Play-offs off and on | 01:03:06
This week the Niis discuss the Easter matches and Cov's dwindling play-off challenge (that Neil still thinks is a little bit on).
07 Sep 2012 | Episode 4 - We love pelanty shootouts | 00:49:14
This week: Knowler's otherwise engaged, but being the consummate pros they are, the three other Niis truck on regardless, desperately plucking out moments of note from the abominable Burton game. Contains colourful language and impromptu jingles.
02 Apr 2019 | Episode 213 - The good bad good draw | 00:59:55
This is a Coventry City podcast that discusses drawing against Barnsley.
Feel free to enjoy it. | |||
13 Feb 2020 | Episode 232 - A damn good football side | 00:51:42
The Niis are up for this. A great run of form continues, and for the first time in the Lamptey Boy's lifetime, a title is there to win. All aboard the brilliant bus. Twitter: @niilampteyshow
19 Aug 2013 | Episode 40 - Pressley's little black book | 00:52:38
This week: The Niis are delighted to have the resurgent Trampbeater on the show to share his feelings about a wonderfully rampant victory over Carlisle. For the purposes of the tape, we will be calling him Shaun. There's loads of talk about these brilliant kids of ours, a little bit about Andy Thorn's search for a job, and a short period of obligatory swooning over Mr Pressley. Contains a potentially ruinous use of statistics.
21 Sep 2022 | Episode 265 - Birminghameredcard | 01:01:21
We can't really get going, can we? It's a mildly gloomy podcast this time around as the Niis head into yet another break of fixtures, safe in the knowledge that Coventry City still haven't won a game this season. In the words of Mark - it's embarrassing. Twitter: @niilampteyshow
08 May 2014 | Episode 68 - Lamptey Awards Bash | 01:33:25
This week: The Lampteys close the season with an obligatory round up of everything that's gone on. Contains a final farewell to Franck Moussa.
18 Aug 2015 | Episode 100 - Mille-wall | 01:08:10
First off, I know 'mille' means 1000 rather than 100 but it would be such a good title if this was our one thousandth epsiode that I'm using it anyway. I can't believe we've done 1000 episodes. Where has the time gone? We didn't prepare anything special but fortunately the team did. We talk about a positive display against a strong Rochdale team and a mind-meltingly terrific performance against Millwall Warning: Contains occasional use of ye olde English
10 Jun 2020 | Episode 236 - Champions | 01:33:49
Well, after a lot of waiting and a lot of mulling things over, everyone decided what we already knew: Coventry City were the best team in League One this season and were going to win the league anyway... so they might as well just make us bloody champions. Good call. It wasn't how we'd have liked, but by gosh, we are going to mark the occasion with a celebratory pod. Wacky circumstances call for wacky responses, so the Niis have gone with a mad five-man line up to wrap up the campaign. Joey, Paul, Neil, Laurie and Dom all join the panel to give one big hip-hip hooray for the League One champs, and run through some awards for the season. Thanks for all your loveliness this year. We hope you enjoy this farewell to League One as much as we did!
21 Jan 2020 | Episode 230 - Someone get him out of the pantry | 01:11:55
This week the Niis are joined by Laurie from out of space, so apologies about some occasional sound issues. But he's still brilliant. That aside there's still lots to talk about from the away win at Donny, while Shippers' plane celebration and Runar Normann's apparently questionable demeanour also draw comment. There's also another Godden disagreement for no real reason except Neil's unnecessarily protective nature towards his reputation. You can skip past that because nobody is actually slagging him off. Twitter: @niilampteyshow
09 Sep 2014 | Episode 73 - The Homecoming Experience | 01:00:31
This week: It's been a huge week for City fans. We're home, and the Niis are delirious. Joey is off being married, but fear not - podcast regular Andy Powell not only joins the crew, but anchors the good ship Lamptey in marvellous fashion. Contains some very tricky Only Covect questions. Good luck.
06 Oct 2015 | Episode 107 - Radio Controlled Car | 00:51:56
First off... THANK YOU!!! Your kind voting has got us to the finals of the Football Blogging Awards in the 'best podcast' category (we narrowly missed out on 'massive-ist legends' and 'naughtiest banter' but we've demanded a re-count of the votes). You might think that's it but you'd be WRONG!!! We need your votes again people. You can click this link to vote via Twitter (it creates a tweet for you and takes roughly two seconds) OR you can head to www.footballbloggingawards.co.uk We're delighted to have made it to the final (especially as it's in Manchester and for two of us we can roll out of bed and into the venue), but also because it's nice to get recognised, innit? Anyway, enough of that, there's another home win to dissect and on the whole we were pretty pleased. We over-analyse the culture of over-analysing the specific locations of strikers, give our weekly show of love to big Réda, and big up Aaron Martin. Looking ahead we do a wee bit of Yeovil and Fleetwood preview that is somehow marginalised by extended discussion about Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, and we open up Paul's brain in another addition of Paul's hit game 'listen to these stats I've researched this week'. WARNING: Contains talk of a certain manager taking over at Fleetwood who has since been confirmed as their manager. Although it was time for us to part SP, there's not a day goes by where I don't think about your cardigan/brown shoe combo xxx
23 May 2024 | Episode 277 - The second best end of season review podcast | 01:40:49
It's a little late, but the Niis return for the final episode of a crazy 2023/24 season. This is the one where we start with good intentions to review the season as a whole, but in reality just end up talking at length about all the best bits. Spoiler alert: We mention some players more than others. This is in no way reflective of their relative importance. Twitter: @niilampteyshow
23 Oct 2014 | Episode 79 - The Rabona of Podcasts | 01:13:22
This week: Lamptey cross. Lamptey sad. Lamptey don't know how things got so bad. Contains another attempt to debunk football. It's not for debunking.
11 Jun 2018 | Episode 188 - Lovely Wembley | 01:33:40
Well, we did it! Hopefully you've not calmed down in the slightest. The Niis are here to celebrate promotion in style with a bumper final pod of the season. It's a biggy, so get it downloaded and settle down for the final and loveliest pod of the season, because being happy and winning the play-offs is lovely.
29 Aug 2012 | Episode 3 - Tales of the rogue poznan | 00:56:51
This week: Still high from Billy Edge's debut against Birmingham, the boys are left to bask in the glory of the League Cup without Knowler. Expect plenty of Carl Baker and even more inane word play.
05 Sep 2016 | Episode 127 - Vote for Nii!!! | 01:23:00
It's voting time again for the Football Blogging Awards and that means we're here begging for votes again! Please click this LINK to generate a tweet to vote for us and if you REALLY want us to love you (or you just don't have Tweeter) click this LINK to vote for us via the website. Hey, while you're there, why not vote for Neil, or Domininc 'Sideways Sammy' Jerams or Laurie 'Lonely Season' Kilpatrick or Matty 'Matty Roper' Roper. Anyway we did a pod about how bad the transfer window was and hoe bad Fleetwood away was and generally how bad our lives our like Kevin the Teenager EXCEPT ARE LIVES ARE BAD AND YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND BECAUSE YOU ARE PARENTS AND YOU'RE STUPID AND YOU JUST DON'T GET US
07 Feb 2018 | Episode 173 - Go to Bed! | 00:44:41
