18 Jul 2023 | Organic Chemistry Fundamentals in American Sign Language | 00:07:23
Organic Chemistry as A Fairy Tale: Once upon a time there as a professor who have twelve princes named: Namio, Structurio and his brother Reactivio, Acidio and his brother Basicio, Nucleophilicio and his brother Electrophilicio, Equilibrio, Stereochemico, Sterico and his brother Electronico and Regioselectivio. Each prince was more complementary than their brother. They all stayed together in the mind-town called Organicochemico. One evening when during the mystical week known as “finale” they all came together to compete at the yearly games. Namio was notoriously a political person who voted for the PLP-s, also known as ( Prinicpal-Locant-Parent Chain- Suffix). Structurio competed in the dance competition showing his routines in their condensed, and bond-line forms. Reactivio participated in the track competition particularly in the race called the Kinetic 500. Acidio and Basicio competed in the meditation competition led by Dr. Bronsted who focuses on obtaining and letting go of your inner proton. Nucleophilicio and electrophilicio helped organized the Kinetic 500, while they both competed in the gymnastic competition with Nucleophilicio stretching the farthest and electophilicio serving as the catcher for the cheerleaders. Equlibrio participated in the annual Le-Chatellier’s fencing competition. Furthermore, stereochemico participated in the art competition focusing on 3D drawings and the arrangement of the objects in space. Sterico and electronico being fierce rivals, competed in the rowing competition with sterico winning at points and electronico winning at points. The boat race is still ongoing. Regioselectivio competed in the map reading competition since he was good at predicting the directions of battles and direction for hikes and journeys. These princes still compete today.. and the story continues.

09 Aug 2023 | Video Episode: The New Chemist's Podcast- Understanding Cardiolipin's Function in Neurodegenerative Diseases - Thesis Abstract in ASL | 00:02:43
Episode Text: Cardiolipin (CL), also known as diphosphatidyglycerol, is localized and synthesized exclusively in the mitochondria. This glycerophospholipid was first characterized by Mary Pangborn and McFarlane in 1941. Presently, CL is considered a potential therapeutic target for several neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs). Recent developments in the field of lipidomics indicate that the ratio of monolysocardiolipin-to-native CL is a valuable biomarker for diagnosing NDDs such as Barth Syndrome (BTHS). In this review, the role of lipidomics in understanding the function of CL in NDDs is reviewed. -- Link: https://www.cambridge.org/engage/coe/article-details/645963ca1ca6101a450119f0

12 Dec 2023 | The New Student Pharmacist's Podcast- A Perspective: Exploring Multi-Factorial Aspects of Quantum Dots- Unveiling Potential Applications? | 00:07:38
Cite: 1. Ferguson, MRSB MRSC D. A Perspective: Exploring Multi-Factorial Aspects of Quantum Dots- Unveiling Potential Applications? The New Chemist- Academic Journal. Published online December 11, 2023. doi:10.21428/3ed95e66.5f4dd3e2 --- A Perspective- Exploring Multi-Factorial Aspects of Quantum Dots- Unveiling Potential Applications? ———————————————————————————————————————————- Introduction First, in the realm of quantum dots, the gaze has long been fixed upon their size-dependent optical properties. These nanoscopic entities exhibit intriguing behaviors, where larger uniform nanoparticles offer more space for electron waves, consequently influencing their optical characteristics. Conversely, the confinement of subatomic particles within nanoparticles leads to observable quantized effects, significantly impacting their optical manifestations.
Discussion and Inquiry Second, delving into the foundational principles of quantum chemistry, we often lean on established concepts like Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. This principle underscores the profound influence of momentum and position on entities at the quantum scale. Size, in essence, is a mathematical expression of position across a dimension or multiple dimensions.
However, what if we were to extend our analysis beyond the size-induced, and quantized-light dependent optical traits of nanoparticles? What if we were to consider their intrinsic and resultant momentum, and how this could affect their optical and temperature properties? Might such an approach engender a spectrum of radiation with tuned multi-components? Could we better understand and tune the quantized light absorption of colloidal particles through an analysis of their intrinsic and resultant momenta and how that is affect by quantized light? Could we tailor these findings to meet diverse research and clinical needs and demands?
With these questions raised, this beckons us to venture beyond a conventional focus on position or size as a main parameter to adjust in pursuit of understanding quantum dot applications, phenomena, and behavior. As scientists, it may serve us well to consider the profound implications of how these nanoparticles (quantum dots), potentially adjust or change their behavior within the context of an input of quantized light, when possessing an intrinsic or resultant momentum.
