The 2021 NFL Draft is in the books, and Jenny, Conor and Gary talk all things draft weekend, starting with—for a second straight year—Aaron Rodgers's unhappiness with the Packers. Is this the end? Is this another Rodgers power play? And who will he be playing for Week 1 of next season?

It's the "No QBs" edition of the Monday Morning Podcast, as Conor and Gary take a trip through the other 21 positions to see how the market might play out in an unusual offseason.

Wide receivers might feel the cap crunch more than any other position, as a lot of big names are available but plenty of teams will instead be eyeing a highly regarded draft class and those oh-so-cheap rookie contracts. Can guys like Godwin, Golladay or Allen Robinson land big deals anyway? The offensive line group, meanwhile, presents a lot of steady options, which is all anyone is looking for up front anyway.

On the defensive side of the ball, will Shaq Barrett finally break the bank? Will the Giants let Leonard Williams get away? Plus a look at a deep cornerback market, and why safeties might be out of luck again.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers figured out a way to make it work financially, but can they make it work on the field? Conor and Gary take a look at how the Steelers got to this point, and the reasons to be optimistic—or pessimistic—as to whether it can work out for Pittsburgh in 2021, as they try to squeeze out another season of Super Bowl contention with an elite defense.

With tampering happening very legally, Conor and Gary take a trip around the league as the news simply piles up. Drew Brees makes his retirement official, and that means a quarterback controversy in New Orleans. Looking at the pros and cons of billion-dollar man Taysom Hill and potential free-agent retainee Jameis Winston.

Plus, Cam Newton gets another shot in Foxboro, while the Bears and Football Team are still looking for a seat in a very not-fun game of quarterback musical chairs. The Chiefs, after losing a Super Bowl due to a lack of offensive tackles, let go of their two starting veteran offensive tackles. The Ravens prove they are as shrewd as ever with the Kevin Zeitler signing, the Texans prove they know how to dial phones and make trades after all, and Kenny Golladay is an early winner of the offseason for avoiding the franchise tag.

The first week of free agency is in the books, and Conor and Gary are ready to overreact to all of it:

*A look at the quarterback signings: why Bears fans are rightfully bummed about Andy Dalton, why Washington is doing just fine with Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Dolphins get a steal in Jacoby Brissett, and Mitchell Trubisky finds a good home in Buffalo.

*As Gary has been saying since the beginning of time, free agency was a bummer for many good young receivers this offseason. But Kenny Golladay gives the Giants exactly what they need for Daniel Jones as their QB enters Year 3.

*Plus, the Jon Gruden era for the Raiders takes another strange turn, the Titans remake their defense, the Chiefs find reinforcements for the offensive line, the Patriots spend big on some nice fits, and the Jets are the undisputed champions of free agency.

The NFL Opener is in the books and, basically, the defending champs lost by three touchdowns in a game that wasn’t even that close.

The Bills picked up where they left off in terms of their general unstoppableness on offense, but it was more than that. They showed off an identity we haven’t seen much of from Josh Allen (it’s so quick!) and on the other side of the ball they had a cast of 10,000 very fast, very young pass rushers to go along with Von Miller in a dominant performance.

For the Rams, was it rust? Was it Matthew Stafford’s troublesome elbow? Is Allen Robinson disappearing going to be a thing? Also, why it’s a tad of an overreaction to worry about their Von Miler–less pass rush (for now).

Plus, Conor and Gary discuss precisely how fixed the NFL is, and identify their favorite matchups in the Sunday early window.

It was a smaller slate in Week 9, but there were still a couple of monstrous underdog wins—not to mention a lifetime worth of frustration for two star quarterbacks. 

Conor and Gary start things off in East Rutherford, home to lots of winning football in 2022, including the Jets’ victory over the Bills. An examination of just how good this team is, and just how they’re going to manage around an erratic young quarterback.

Then, a new kind of frustration for Aaron Rodgers as the Packers let one slip away in Detroit, while Tom Brady pulls off an improbable comeback—even by his standards—after a ridiculous day of drops against the Rams. And the Titans nearly pull off the upset in Kansas City, behind a very physical defense and some classic Mike Vrabel ball.

We all know the—albeit fluky—stat regarding the drought of 0–2 teams going to the NFL playoffs, but what about 0–3? Because by Sunday evening, either the Titans or the Raiders, both playoff teams a year ago, will be in that unenviable hole.

With that in mind, Conor and Gary discuss those two teams and their Sunday matchup, including whether or not to believe in their coaching staffs, and just how deep the hole is for either franchise if they lose a third straight to start the year.

Then, a look at the Bills-Dolphins matchup, as Miami tries to exorcise some demons against a team that has owned them the previous two seasons. Can the Bills’ thin cornerbacking group still hang with the Tyreek Hill–Jaylen Waddle tandem?

It was an upside down slate of games in the NFL, though the two headlining games more than made up for it all. Conor and Gary break down everything that went down on Sunday (including, sadly for our listeners, some baseball playoffs).

It starts in Kansas City, where the Bills didn’t really exorcise anything, but they did prove they can overcome some execution issues, on the road, against an elite opponent. Throw in a rapidly improving defense and you have a team that is just much, much better than the rest of the NFL.

The Eagles and Cowboys punched and counter-punched in Philly in a very good Sunday nighter that reminded us to never count out Cooper Rush and also the real meaning of Christmas.

How the absurdity of the Trubisky-led Steelers routing the Bucs came to be, the Falcons continue to melt our icy hearts, New York is only for winners, Bailey Zappe yes but mostly the Patriots defense is doing it’s thing again, and unconfirmed rumors that the Vikings are 5–1.

The NFL trade deadline has come and gone with the usual lack of, well, trades. But that won’t stop Jenny, Conor and Gary from breaking down the big deal (Von Miller), the deals that didn’t happen (Odell Beckham Jr. and Deshaun Watson) and the other little deals that went through.

Yes, we know what Von Miller brings to L.A., but what does this deal say about the boldness of GM Les Snead, who continues to shed draft capital but also continues to oversee a team that wins a lot of games?

Then, a discussion of podcast favorite Charles Omenihu and what he brings to the 49ers, as well as the Texans’ underwhelming trade deadline after loading up on veterans on tradeable contracts last offseason. Plus, the impact of the Chiefs gaining one big name (Melvin Ingram) while moving another (Laurent Duvernay-Tardif).

With the midpoint of the 2021 season officially upon us, Jenny, Conor and Gary take an opportunity to look back at both the season’s first half, and their predictions from the summer when we were all younger and a little more naive.

It happens so often that you might not even take much notice anymore. A scramble concluding with an off-balance throw that lands directly on-target downfield. A sidearm sling to work the ball through an impossibly narrow throwing lane. A jump pass from a collapsed pocket, the ball flying further than what would seem to be biomechanically possible.

The Week 4 Sunday slate brought us some humbling losses and heartwarming victories, and Conor and Gary are here to discuss all of it, as well as remember two former Northwestern quarterbacks.

We’ll start with the Chiefs in full on Sunday night, as K.C. got an early turnover and steamrolled the Bucs with a Mahomes-ian moment or two along the way. In Green Bay, the Packers continue to work through their growing pains while the Patriots, down to their third-string QB, are looking to become the scrappiest scrappers who ever scrapped. One long-awaited quarterback contract got done this week, but as with all things Cardinals-front-office-and-Kyler Murray since the team’s wild-card round meltdown in January, it wasn’t without loads of negativity and drama. Specifically, the now infamous “homework clause” that appears in Murray’s record-setting deal, the cause of tremendous embarrassment for the star QB this week.
