After a decade working in vocational rehab, shifting gears to counseling, then an entrepreneurial journey as Founder of KidsArt global franchises, Shell crashed and burned - and THEN the ADHD diagnosis shed light on why all this was happening.

02 Apr 2024 | 105. Are you Over It? How to Best Release Emotions | 00:09:58
Ep 105 Are you over it? How do you know? This solocast gets a little personal as I share my perspective on “Deal with it,” “Get Over it,” and Suck it up, buttercup.” These are the common phrases we hear or tell ourselves and it made me wonder, is this a good thing? When Bessel van der Kolk wrote The Body Keeps the Score, the research shows that our body and cells hold onto deep emotional wounds. But, far too often, we stuff it all down. What happens then? Illness, disease, and pain - all the ways our body communicates with us. Recently, I experienced a DEEP emotional (Somato-Emotional, Body, Mind) release with a trusted Craniosacral Therapist from the Upledger Institute. This is a therapy modality of soft-tissue release that I have also practiced for almost 20 years. Be sure to ask your therapist when they last sought a treatment session. A skilled therapist will tell you that they are also committed to receiving treatments too. The giver needs to also release and re-balance themselves. What are you holding onto and is it serving your body, mind, and life? Is it better to get over it, or to shift into feeling and processing the emotion? 12 Aug 2022 | Discover Emotional Alchemy | 00:32:26
As we grow older, we become more skilled in hiding our emotions, thinking that suppressing the flow of energy in our body and burying the feelings can help us live the best life. But the truth is, we need to process and convert emotions to rediscover our true selves.
Brittany Bannerman is a licensed and certified counselor, hypnotherapist, and emotional alchemist. Her personal emotional health experience drew her to discover a new career level and transform her life with clarity, courage, and emotional safety within her soul. Brittany is now passionate about educating and supporting women in processing their emotions and cultivating a safe space with emotional alchemy.
Today, Hillary and Brittany talk about the emotional health of women. They discuss the way people medicalize women’s emotions and how emotional alchemy can help process suppressed emotions and clear them out to make space for our true selves. She will guide us in finding our best selves!

As a certified Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapist (C.Hyp), this process allows for the exploration and processing of deep seated patterns and trauma in order to facilitate deeper, lasting change. Brittany is passionate about offering support and integration for those who have experienced spiritual emergencies and exceptional human experiences (awakening experiences, mystical and transcendent experiences, near-death experiences, and post-psychedelic experiences). She has extensively lived with chronic illness and pain (i.e., endometriosis & adenomyosis), which has inspired her to walk others through similar journeys. Take aways from the talk: We define alchemy, differentiate feelings from emotions Women's Emotional Health is often dismissed. When we clear out and make space for the negative/bad emotions fear, sadness, grief, anger, shame, and disgust - we can then feel more joy, contentment, surprise, and ecstasy. We can move from emotionally reactive to responsive. Therapists listen with and provide clarity, courage, compassion, curiosity, and non-judgment.

24 Oct 2023 | 88. Reunion Class of 1988: Go Unicorns! | 00:19:21
Ep 88. Dedicated to the NCSSM Class of 1988. Women support women in a lot of ways. As we wrap up ADHD and Menopause Awareness Month, I wanted to share a personal experience at my 35th high school reunion. Have you ever attended a class reunion? Middle School, High School or College? There is a lot of thought that goes into planning and attending a reunion. And then there is the fear, who will show up or will they recognize me? It takes courage to show up and be ourselves. We may wonder if others are more successful or happier than we are? The great thing about getting older, is that the majority of people do grow up and just want you to be happy in life as well. Give it a try. Show up for yourself and for the person who thought you were very cool in life. You will learn about accepting the greater challenge, the NCSSM motto (North Carolina School of Science and Math). And after 40, sometimes the greater challenge is showing up or setting healthy boundaries. At the end, I share encouragement I wrote to a dear friend - if you need to hear that you are worthy regardless of your performance, perfection, or expectations of others, be sure to listen until the end. Here's to finding your unicorn in life, your greatest purpose, with roots to remember the past, but wings to fly into what is next for you. What feeds your soul and passion?\ Thank you to Julie, Anja, Emily and all those who created an amazing experience, a true labor of love for 1/3 of our graduating class to attend.
29 Jan 2023 | 58. How Do You Face Your Fears? Get Unstuck, Forget Perfectionism, and Move Forward! | 00:11:18
Ep 58 What is your greatest fear? Snakes, heights, losing a loved one, failure, speaking in public or something else? Well, I’m back and facing my fear! I took a few month off and realized that some people were catching up on missed episodes. Fear of perfection had me frozen for a while. Plus, I was migrating my website to Systeme.io, rebranding with new fonts, colors, and a logo and combining websites and FB pages. So, by hiatus, I do not mean I was on a break, but I was busy with a lot of other stuff. I will become more brave with every step forward. If we wait for the brave to come first, the chances are TOO great to stay stuck and frozen. In Season 4, I am focusing on what midlife women are doing to get unstuck and move forward with new dreams, passions, and starting new chapters in their lives. The next series will be meeting founding members, learning their Why behind what they are doing and how you can reach out to them.
