28 Jan 202528 - How Tracking Your Time Helps You Find More of It00:21:06

Do you really know where all your time is going? We think we have a good idea - work, childcare, chores, errands, appointments, sleep, etc. But when you're trying to find time for the things that are most important to you, you need more than just "a good idea". You need data. Time tracking is one of the most valuable tools that we have to truly understand our time and how we choose to use it. Time tracking helps you identify patterns, confront assumptions, and ultimately make meaningful changes that could get you time back in your days. In this episode, I'm sharing how to start your own time tracking exercise, including the tool that I use and love for collecting my own data.

And if you want to have your time tracking log personally reviewed by me for feedback and ideas, that's the first things we're doing in my group coaching program for working moms - Beyond Balance. We're starting in just a couple of weeks and spots are limited. You can learn more and apply to be considered for the group at www.themothernurture.com/interest.

15 Oct 202414 - The Hidden Cost of Indecision: How to Reclaim Your Time00:21:32
We all know what decision fatigue is and how we should create routines, habits, and even uniforms to reduce the number of decisions we have to make. But the other piece of decision fatigue that's not talked about as much is indecision - delaying or prolonging a decision because we tell ourselves we need more time or more information. Every unmade decision is like an open loop in your brain costing you time and energy just like a nail in your tire that is slowly leaking air while you drive. The faster you can make your decision, the less air you'll leak.

Learning how to recognize indecision and having strategies to help you make faster, more confident decisions will help save you so much time, energy, and mental space. But the key is knowing which decisions to make quickly, and which decisions to take your time with. In this episode, you'll learn it all, including my five favorite hacks for getting over the indecision hump.

27 Aug 20247 - The Secret to Being a More Patient and Present Mom00:17:33
Do you wish you had more patience or that you were more present when you're with your kids? Have you ever felt guilty for how you reacted in the moment and then spent hours reading and watching parenting experts to learn what to do differently next time? You could learn all the skills and have the best tips and phrases at your fingertips, but if you're overwhelmed by work and life it will take so much more effort to respond patiently. Because that patient version of you is buried underneath the mental load of all that's on your plate.

If you want to put those parenting skills to use, the best thing you can do is create mental space. Put the autopilots tasks of life on autopilot so you have the capacity to respond patiently and the peace of mind to be present with who is in front of you. This week's episode is all about creating mental capacity so you can be the parent that you've always wanted to be. This one is a must-listen.

12 Nov 202418 - The Truth About Morning Routines for Working Moms00:21:01

So many books and articles have been written about what successful people do to start their day. If we're not waking up early to workout, meditate, and get a jump start on our day, what are even doing? But as busy, working parents, with interrupted sleep and irregular wake-up times, it can be so hard to be consistent with morning routines, let alone to find time to drink a cup of coffee in peace. In this episode, I'm challenging the idea of a morning routine and offering up a new approach to mornings as a busy, working parent. An approach that takes into consideration the responsibilities and lack of sleep that parents, especially parents of young kids, are facing. You don't have to give up the idea entirely, but you I would encourage you to embrace some flexibility and reduce the pressure to do it all. You can still have a successful morning, it just might look a little different than the ones we read about.

03 Dec 202421 - There's No Such Thing as a Normal Week00:14:53

As working parents with kids, work, and a life to take care of, there's "always something". What is a "normal" week anyway? It's probably one where everything went according to plan. 01 Oct 202412 - Reclaiming Joy: How to Celebrate the Small Moments in Your Busy Mom Life00:28:12
If you're feeling like you're repeating the same day over and over again, stuck on a hamster wheel of working, completing chores, and taking care of kids, one of the easiest and fastest ways to break up that cycle is to celebrate the small wins. We're taught to celebrate the big milestones in the life - birthdays, anniversaries, holidays - but what about all of the other amazing, beautiful, everyday things that we do and experience? What might shift if we focused as much on those celebrations as we do on what we didn't do?

This episode will help you see how powerful everyday celebrations can be for feeling good about your life and progress, despite it being busy and full! From personal anecdotes to client experiences, you'll learn practical tips on simple yet meaningful ways to celebrate. And bonus, learn how that can impact your kids and your family culture.

15 Jul 20241 - The Power of a Simple To-Do List to Lessen Your Mental Load00:29:03
Do you ever feel like your brain is about to explode from holding onto too much? All those reminders, dates, errands, messages you need to send, and things you need to order run like a ticker in the background of your mind. Well, before you can even think about how and when you're going to get all those things done, you need to ease the overwhelm and create some mental space. And the easiest way to do that is so simple that most people skip over it in favor of more complicated processes. It's a to-do list.

In this episode, I explain why the first exercise I do with all my coaching clients is an audit of their to-do list. When you're feeling overwhelmed by your mental load, the best thing you can do is get everything out of your head and onto a list so you can make sense of it and make a plan. I walk you through how to get started today, even if it's just by grabbing a piece of paper. I also share some of my favorite to-do list tools and how to choose the one that's right for you. Pop in those earbuds and get ready to lessen your mental load.
