02 Jan 2018 | Welcome to 2018! | 00:12:01
Happy New Year! Starting off this new year with a quick 2017 retrospective! First thing first, we're pushing the schedule we announced last week back by one week in order to take a chunk of time to reset and reconcile all of the tangled webs we have weaved. Woven. Woved. Anyway! The upcoming schedule now looks like this!
Thank you all for being such a big part of what we do here. We're excited to do even more for and with you here in 2018.
18 Aug 2020 | Publishers' Note #1 - So Many Paul Questions | 01:15:00
Paul is here! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:15:10 We start off with some... non-technical difficulties. After that, some goofs, some introductions, and more goofs, we talk about voting for episodes in September. Upcoming schedule:
Then, finally, around the 22 minute mark, we get to your questions. Featuring a brand new song from Trevor!!! Our plan was to read a bunch of letters from listeners and then also take questions from the chat. Instead, we got through a few letters, and then the multitude of questions from the chat overwhelmed us and we gave up on letters for this week, just to get through all the chat questions. Which ended up being great! Around the 55 minutes in, ThePayneTrayn asks a question in the chat about brewing beer, which is a topic Paul has a lot of experience and knowledge on. Paul describes an all-rye ale that he has brewed, which was met with demands for the recipe. Here is that recipe, from Paul himself!
Finally, we mentioned that next Publishers' Note will be a great time to ask Paul questions about his involvement in Spirit Island lore. If you have questions for Paul (or for Christopher and Adam), use our handy question submission form! See you next time!
23 May 2023 | Editor's Note #67 | 01:42:45
It was a live show! Now it's just dead audio. :C Show Notes: Run Time: 1:42:59 Warning! This episode is pretty goof-heavy. Lots of goofs. You've been warned. Here's the upcoming schedule:
We answer lots of questions on such a wide variety of topics. It gets wild. Listen and find out! Join us next week for the last episode of Adam's birth-month: Episode #250 - Writers’ Room: Scavenger Unity!
05 Mar 2024 | Episode #275 - Writers' Room: Freedom Five #391 | 02:04:48
Telling a story about a minor villain who never really catches on... until she is reborn! (But that's in the future. Not in this episode.) Show Notes: Run Time: 2:04:47 Over two hours! Huh, I don't remember feeling that long when we recorded it. Welp! We must have been in the zone, or something. ANYWAY! We tell a Choke story. The first one, actually! But we talk about a bunch of other stuff as well, including Night Snake and Stuntman stuff in the letters section. There's a lot! It's all pretty fun! At least, we sure think so. Thanks for being a part of it! We're recording a LIVE Editor's Note, this Friday, March 8th, at 11 AM, Central! If you're on The Letters Page Patreon, you can watch it, and even join in if you're a Contributor! Otherwise, it'll come out next week in audio format! After that: surgery. Weee!
16 Jan 2024 | Episode #273 - Writers' Room: Arcane Tales Vol. 2 #613 | 01:20:42
A tale, told swiftly, but told well! (At least, so we hope.) Show Notes: Run Time: 1:20:41 We tear right into this one, building out Waykeep notably and inventing a new villain to keep things interesting! It's another great day here at The Letters Page, where we keep our letters on our page! Trying out a new tagline. It's not great. That happens. All part of the process. We've got a live show coming up this Friday for you fantastic patreon folks! For everyone else, it'll be next week's episode! Either way: tune in! Please! We like it when you listen to us.
17 Jan 2017 | Episode 1 - Legacy | 01:06:51
It's our first episode! And it's about Legacy! If you have questions for Christopher and Adam, ask them here! Show Notes: Run Time: 66:50 We mention Joseph Parson's connection to Paul Revere and his famous ride. For more information on that, click this link. We apologize for alienating all listeners named Pauline in the first ten minutes of our first episode ever. Sorry to all of you for making fun of your antique name. Christopher says "um" a bunch in this episode. He's just really excited about actually getting to do this show. Please forgive him - he promises to not "um" as much in future episodes. We claim that the Baron Blade episode is coming in 3-6 years. We're confident that we can make that deadline... but look, things happen. We talk glowingly about Danny "D-Lo" Lott, who asked the first of our questions. Here is one of his videos. About some game or other. Just after the 50 minute mark, we both say the word "alongside" a whole bunch of times. Not sure why this is a note, but hey, something to look forward to. If you're into that kind of thing. At the end of the episode, we mention that Legacy will be in the Sentinel Comics RPG in 2017. That's this year, folks. Stay tuned!
26 Oct 2021 | Editor's Notes #49 | 01:06:31
We got a live one here! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:06:39 We had fun and a good deal of audience interaction with this one! Always a good time. Here's the upcoming schedule:
In this Editor's Note, we talk about a bunch of things, including:
Join us next time for a Disparation episode about Mr. Fixer and something something Oni something?!
06 Jun 2017 | Episode 21 - K.N.Y.F.E. | 00:55:35
She's tough, she's Scottish, and she's got energy powers! It's Agent Paige Huntly: A.K.A. the hero known as K.N.Y.F.E.! Show Notes: Run Time: 55:34 First thing first! We're both older - but certainly no wiser - than we were last episode! Happy Birthday to us. We first introduced the character of Paige Huntly in last week's Chokepoint episode, as their stories intertwine before Agent Huntly ever becomes K.N.Y.F.E. When we get to the Progeny fight, we go into a bit of a discussion on whether Progeny's head flying away is cool or silly. Who is right? You decide! And then we're off to SPACE! Lots of great stuff about alternate realities, people being awful, her Scottish-ness, and even more in the questions section. Get your questions about F.I.L.T.E.R., Sergeant Steel, and The Block now! Also, this episode's post-credits bit is the longest one ever, I think!
22 Jun 2021 | Editor's Note #47 | 01:12:54
It's that time again! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:13:03 More episodes next month? Yes, indeed! Upcoming schedule:
You might note that next month brings us another Bullpen! We'll be talking about some SCRPG stuff then, so Dave will be on the show once again, as will a special guest! Who will it be? Hopefully not Guise! This episode, we talk about:
We'll catch you...
...next time! | |||
04 Apr 2023 | Episode #244 - Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 3 #126 | 01:17:32
Let's get wild... wild west! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:17:42 We start off by talking about... legislation?! Yeah, OK, weird, but look. It's scary out there. We're concerned. Then we do some math. Sorry. Then! We talk a bit about the Sentinels of the Multiverse: Disparation BackerKit campaign that is currently ongoing but about to finish up! Check it out while you can! And finally, we tell a story. Or! A few stories! Pretty cool stuff, if we do say so ourselves. And we do. Emphatically. Join us next week for an episode about a Hero turned Villain!
13 Mar 2018 | Episode 59 - Tempest | 03:28:57
The long-awaited episode for one of the first heroes from Sentinel Comics! Show Notes: Run Time: 3:29:10 Our longest episode yet! It is astounding to me that an episode about one character ended up longer than our previous longest episode, the Southwest Sentinels/Void Guard episode, about 4 characters who make up two teams with major changes in there. But, then again, hardly surprising that Tempest takes so long to cover - really speaks to just how much is going on in the Tempest story. We cover the three major phases of Tempest's life:
There are lots of things going on in each of those phases, but that's a fair way to break up the stories of Tempest. Be sure to tune in next week when we talk more about the whole team of the Prime Wardens, and the week after when we talk specifically about Tempest's primary nemesis: Grand Warlord Voss! There are a good bit of Tempest stories that we don't get too into in today's episode, as they belong in the Voss episode much more. Just after the 52 minute mark, (that's right - we cover the entire overview in less than an hour!) we get into your questions! And there are a lot of them. You folks asked about all the things! At around an hour and 16 minutes into the episode, we get asked a question that results in a deep dive into the biology of the Maerynian people. I know a lot of people have been wondering about this stuff for a LONG time. An answer to a question just under two hours and 40 minutes in that gets us into a discussion of what we've done to make Sentinel Comics feel like "real" comics. Then, we go on to give a preview of the sort of thing we'll be doing in the OblivAeon episodes! At least, we go down a rabbit hole that is certainly the type of discussion that will be happening in the OblivAeon episodes. Just after the two hour and 50 minute mark, we finally get to the character of Leviathan... who we give a quick overview for, but don't get into too thoroughly. Want more? Perhaps we'll do another episode later! We finish your questions and go to the future section at just after three hours in. It's a quick one! Ooh, and a big reveal at the end of the future section! I wonder what the implications of that will be... Finally, the major announcements! They begin at 3:05:31. I'm not putting all that info here - I want you to hear it the way we present it in the episode, not just give you a wall of text. However! I will say, you should definitely check out the changes that are going live later today on our Patreon! Thanks for bearing with us through this whole episode! See you next week for an almost certainly shorter episode about more characters!
20 Oct 2020 | Episode #158 - Writers' Room: Tome of the Bizarre Vol 3 #151 | 01:49:43
It's such a spooky time! Not as spooky as next month, mind you, but spooky enough to tell a tale of BLOOD! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:49:58 Adam and I goof around for several minutes before finally getting into the sweet meat and sweet potatoes of the episode, at around the 5 minute mark. We craft a thrilling tale! Neither of us knew where this would end up when we started, and you can hear us double back and rework the story as we go. Twists and turns abound! But, all told, we're pretty pleased with how it turned out. And not without future costs for both protagonist and antagonist alike! At around the 53 minute mark, we start in on your questions, both related to Blood Countess and the Court of Blood, as well as a healthy crop of questions on the Phoenix! By popular demand! At the end of the episode, we take only a minute or so on the cover before wrapping things up. It's nice when something comes together so neatly. Thanks for listening, everyone! This Friday will be another Publishers' Note, featuring the return of Paul! If you have questions for him, or for me and Adam on pretty much any topic, send us your questions using this handy form! Also, the Freedom Five board game is LIVE NOW on Kickstarter! We'll talk more about it over the next few weeks on various Letters Page episodes, especially this upcoming Publishers' Note. But you don't have to take our word for it - go check it out! Catch you next time!
28 May 2024 | Episode #283 - Writers’ Room: Bunker in space: Cosmic Tales Vol. 2 #391-#396 | 02:05:12
SIX issues in the title?! Yup. Show Notes: Run Time: 2:05:11 Another episode that cracks 2 hours... we didn't set out to tell this much of a tale, but we were on a roll! Plus, we quite like this villainous foil for our beloved Tyler Vance. We also get to questions. A friendly reminder! Please, try to keep your letters UNDER 5ish paragraphs. If you've gotta go over, make it for a good reason. We believe in you! You write great letters! You can do this! We just want to hear from as many people as possible, not just giant letters from a few folks. Sorry to be a bummer about this! Join us next week for the first episode of June, 2024! Episode #284 will be a Writers' Room all about two villains who are nemeses with each other! Get your questions in now!
31 May 2022 | Episode #214: Writers' Room: Justice Comics #695 | 01:23:11
We'll paint you a story! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:23:10 It's Adam's birthday! Today is the day! As a result — or, actually, because you demanded it — we tell a frankly silly story that ends up doing some interesting things. And also we read your letters! This was the first of two episodes recorded in one day, as I'm now in the UK for a week and a half for UK Games Expo! (If you'll be at the show, come hang out with us in Booth #1-852!) But, was this the BEST episode we recorded today? You'll just have to find out next week!
01 Oct 2019 | Episode #122 - Creative Process: Count Barzakh | 01:12:41
It's the first creepy episode of the second most creepy month: October! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:12:50 After confessing our sins, we get to our creative process overview at around the 6 minute mark. And we are on fire! (At least, in our humble opinions.) Apparently, we should create in the face of adversity more often! One successful creation segment later, we get to your questions, at just before the 50 minute mark. Thank you for your questions! Also, thanks for listening! Don't forget to have a spooky month! (But not as spooky as next month!)
30 May 2017 | Episode 20 - Chokepoint | 01:11:04
Today, we talk about the tech-bending villain Chokepoint! Show Notes: Run Time: 71:03 Right off the bat, we discuss the Iconclad Project and how it took on young Evelyn Moore as in her infancy. You might recall the Ironclad Project from the Bunker episode! Around thirteen minutes in, we talk about The Block, and then a few minutes later, we introduce the F.I.L.T.E.R. Agent Paige Huntly. More on her next week, and more on FILTER and The Block the week after that! We get through her entire backstory without digging into the Termi-Nation story... but not to worry! We do a HUGE section in the Q&A portion of the podcast all about Termi-Nation. Adam reads a letter from the Cult of Gloom. After the episode, we went to the hospital, but they don't deal with that sort of thing. So, he'll probably be fine. Listeners! Tomorrow (May 31st) is Adam's birthday! Two days after that (June 2nd) is Christopher's birthday! For our birthdays, please send us questions about F.I.L.T.E.R., Sergeant Steel, and The Block! Next week is the K.N.Y.F.E. episode, but we've already recorded that one, due to Christopher being in the UK this week for the UK Games Expo. If you're at that show, go see him in the Greater Than Games booth!
07 Sep 2021 | Episode #188 - Writers' Room: Engine Block Blues #4 | 01:22:44
The life of a man who has touched the lives of many. Show Notes: Run Time: 1:22:54 Adam and I are excited to finally work through this limited series! It's got a lot of creative folks on it, and it's fun for us to work with an ensemble creative cast. We hope you enjoy listening in! After about 44 minutes of story telling, we get into your questions! On a variety of topics! Not so much this episode, but that's not a huge deal. Join us next week for a Creative Process episode we're referring to as "A Sticky Subject" ...it's all about Adhesivist!
15 Nov 2022 | Episode #231 - Writers' Room: NightMist #150 | 01:27:32
Which minor villain gets scary today? Show Notes: Run Time: 1:27:31 We're halfway through the second spooky month, but this episode is less "spooky" and more "potentially exitentially terrifying". I'm sure nothing bad will come out of it. If you're a Letters Page Patreon supporter (and if you're not, maybe you should be!) join us for a live show this Friday! We look forward to seeing you there!
29 Jun 2017 | Interlude 6 - Maintenance Mode | 00:28:34
Let's make some excuses! Show Notes: Run Time: 28:36 Since we got immediately down to business on Tuesday's Deadline/Lifeline episode, this interlude is a good deal more... fast and loose. Things we cover in this interlude:
Also, as promised, here's an art! How do we get through ALL OF THAT in under half an hour? Guess you'll just have to listen to the whole thing to find out! Oh, also, the very exciting upcoming schedule!
Things are really heating up here on the Letters Page! And not just because it's a hot summer here in St. Louis. But also because of that!
05 Dec 2017 | Episode 46 - Captain Cosmic & Infinitor | 02:14:22
We're back with an episode about brothers! Show Notes: Run Time: 2:14:22 It's been a month since we last recorded and we're thrilled to be back! We are also very excited about the release of the Starter Kit for Sentinel Comics: the Roleplaying Game! So many thrilling things. Also! This episode goes live the morning of Tuesday, December 5th. The deadline for getting your Cosmic Contest entries to us is tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6th! Very exciting. Let's get into the episode! (Many apologies for terrible British accents this episode.) We dig into the origin of Captain Cosmic, talking about the history of the brothers Lowsley and how Hugh got cosmic powers and Nigel just disappeared... Then, we're off to space to fight space threats! We go over a few of them before getting into the big stuff with Infinitor! It takes us 28 minutes to get to the reveal that Captain Cosmic and Infinitor are brothers... which has been common knowledge in this world since the release of the characters, but was a much bigger reveal in the pages of Sentinel Comics. Then we're back into space for more space stuff! Including spending a lot of time on Dok'Thorath. After all that, about 43 minutes in, we actually start to get into the OblivAeon event itself. We're saving most of that for the OblivAeon episode, but Captain Cosmic and Infinitor both have too much going on in the OblivAeon event to not cover that stuff now. And then, finally, just after the 52 minute mark, we get to your questions. Lots of questions! Finally, due to a question, we actually get into Infinitor's origin story. This happens around an hour and 11 minutes in. Then continuing with so many more solid questions. Just after the hour and 41 minute mark, we get a question about just how OblivAeon shards work. Whoof. That's a big one. Some explanation here. Perhaps some reveals? Either way, it's big. At an hour and 53 minutes in, we plug the official GTG online community. They're great! Go hang out with them! At 2 hours and 9 minutes in, we go to the future. Interesting things going on with Captain Cosmic's powers in both timelines! Thanks for listening! Next week is Cosmic Contest!
29 Oct 2019 | Episode #125 - Creative Process: Monsters and Magic | 01:18:33
Let's get Monstrous and Magical? Who are we kidding - we're always monstrous and magical. Show Notes: Run Time: 1:18:43 We start out assuming we've already covered all the monsters and magics... but we prove that untrue quite swiftly. But then! Your questions are what unlock even MORE great content! We start in on those questions just after the 30 minute mark. Thanks everyone for listening to these spooky but not too spooky episodes - but don't you fret: November is right around the corner! We're recording two episodes this week - tomorrow is a Disparation episode about the Extremeverse and Friday we're recording a Creative Process episode about the Animated Series, Phase 3. So, get your questions in for those episodes ASAP!
08 May 2018 | Episode 67 - Disparation Freedom Five | 01:15:06
Delving back into Disparation stories! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:15:06 Who are these people? Where do they come from? What is their story? Listen on to find out! After a few minutes of goofs and introductions, we get into the actual content of Disparation, Vol. 1, Issue 24! Just before the 38 minute mark, we get to your questions! This Friday, we'll be recording our "Behind the Scenes" episode, which will release next Tuesday. But for those of you on our Patreon, you'll get the video of the experience by the end of day Friday! And if you're a Contributor-level supporter of the Patreon, you'll get to watch and participate LIVE!
03 Apr 2018 | Episode 62 - Disparation Dark Watch Team | 01:21:16
We're talking about these so familiar and yet so different heroes! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:21:26 Welcome to April, and a whole new format! The next 3 months will feature different types of episodes than what you're used to, but they're going to be great! Interested in having input in what we talk about? Check out our Patreon! That's the best way to get involved in what we're doing here with the Letters Page. We jump around in time a bit to start off, but then! We actually lay out the history of a book we've only hinted at before and never directly quoted or defined: Disparation! Disparation Volumes 1 and 2, at that! Then, after telling all that backstory and even going briefly over a few other Disparation issues, we finally get into the story of this alternate reality Dark Watch. Just a minute before the one hour mark, we get into your questions! Thanks so much for listening! Also, the Sentinels of Freedom video game is live on Kickstarter now! Go check it out - we're seriously excited about all of the storytelling we get to do with this project! Get your questions in for the Animated Series and NightMist's book of monsters!
01 May 2018 | Episode 66 - Legacy Supplemental | 01:28:43
We're back to the very beginning! Revisiting the Legacy story from our very first episode. (This art is the pencils Adam did in 2010 for Legacy which were then scanned in and inked and colored to make Legacy's first character card art! Adam will probably hate that I used this art, but it's good to see your roots.) Show Notes: Run Time: 1:28:45 We start off by talking about the weirdness that is this coming Thursday's Extrasode. Then, just before 6 minutes in, we finally get into the history of Sentinel Comics portion of the episode that takes up the bulk of the overview. After all that, around 36 minutes in, we get to your questions! Right off the bat, 40 minutes in, we get a question about where the heck do Legacy's powers come from. AND WE ANSWER IT. FULLY AND HONESTLY. SURPRISE. At the hour and 21 minutes mark, we get to the future section. This was a fun one for us to return to. Thanks for listening!
15 Oct 2019 | Episode #124 - Creative Process: Phobias | 01:15:21
We unleash your greatest fear! A podcast! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:15:31 We explore phobias! Fears! Both irrational and otherwise! We also end up bridging over into a "Writers' Room" style episode, accidentally. Sorry about that. We just felt like creating, I guess? It worked out, but this episode is all over the place. Scary! We'll be doing the live Editor's Note on Wednesday this week, the day after this episode goes live, so if you're on The Letters Page Patreon, join us for the live recording! Thanks for listening, everyone!
06 Aug 2024 | Gen Con 2024 Pre/Post-Show | 00:09:36
Hello, everyone! We were at Gen Con last week, and boy are our arms tired! We had a tremendous live show that went so well, mostly in thanks to Trevor's impressive skills and the audience's excellent participation. Adam and I were also there! Do you want to hear how it went? Good news! Next week's episode will be that very recording! Join us for that, followed by a live recording for our Patreon folks! JOIN US!
22 Nov 2022 | Editor's Note #61 | 01:02:56
The penultimate Editor's Note of the year! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:03:04 We're closing in on the end of the year, but we're not quite there yet! Another live show with lots of live attendees, and great questions all around! But first, the schedule:
Join us next week for the last Spooky Months episode: Episode #232 - Writers' Room: The Mocktriarch story! Whatever could that story be about?!
14 Nov 2023 | Episode #267 - Writers' Room: Prime Wardens Vol. 2 #29 | 01:40:29
To the land of the dead! But with mummies and lots of sand! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:40:28 Christopher starts off with another tale of injury, but this was far lower stakes and more medically attended to than last year's cave story, so that's good, at least! Then, our heroes fall! But will they rise again? Gosh, let's hope so! If you're a Letters Page Patreon supporter, join us this Friday for a live Editor's Note! If not, you'll hear it next Tuesday! Either way: it'll be a fun time!
18 Apr 2023 | Editor's Note #66 | 01:43:36
A note! From Editors! For Editors? BY Editors?! Who can say! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:43:49 There was a lot of great interaction from the chat on this one, which means that even though we recorded for over 2 hours, Trevor cut a lot of Bad Radio and this episode is a reasonable length. Whew! Upcoming schedule!
When we finally get into letters, we acknowledge that we were wrong to do rules rulings on the air. Whoops! We'll still take letters about rules questions, but we'll answer them with more care and oversight. Thanks! We still have lots of Rook City Renegades stuff to talk about, and we do! Listen and find out! Catch you next time for Episode #246 about the Citizen Dawn event with an alien artifact on Insula Primalis! Get your questions in now!
29 Nov 2022 | Episode #232 - Writers' Room: A Murder Most Fowl | 01:15:56
Birds birds birds! But are they real birds? Show Notes: Run Time: 1:15:55 We tell a story that we've known for a while, but have never shared here! We also take a variety of questions on a variety of topics! You know, like we usually do on this show! Join us next week for a much less known story about The Scholar!
08 Sep 2020 | Episode #155 - Creative Process: Ra Villains | 01:47:01
A bunch of new foes, coming at you RA and unfiltered! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:47:15 Adam is back this week, so let's make some Sentinel Comics content! We do some chats and some goofs, tell you about Adam's new drawing tablet, talk about the state of existence and how overwhelming the world is... and then finally get into actually doing our job here at around 9 minutes in. We make a few fun foes, each with their own ups and downs. You haven't seen the last of any of these jerks! At around 52 minutes in, we get to your questions, answering questions about Ra, some of his foes, his boat, and also Legacy, and also also The Argent Adept Soothsayer Carmichael. Thanks for listening! As always, if you have any questions for us, submit them here!
01 Sep 2020 | Publishers' Note #2 | 01:12:58
Paul is back! Get hype! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:13:07 We goof about, talk about Trevor, tell some stories, and then get to questions! Paul and I answer questions about:
| |||
12 Mar 2019 | Episode #103 - Myriad | 00:57:50
Temporary Show Notes: Run Time: 57:57 This is the Myriad episode. A myriad of things are discussed (including a few spoilers if you haven't played the Urban Infestation one-shot)! -Trevor
| |||
11 Feb 2020 | Episode #134 - Writers' Room: Disparation Vol. 1, #04 | 01:06:27
A familiar team, yet one that never was! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:06:35 We do another early Disparation story! These are always fun. Just a note on Letters Page timeline: we're pretty much back on our regular schedule but the episode numbering is one behind since we interjected with last week's non-standard episode. As a result, the first episode for March will be what was going to be the last February episode. We'll still have voting and Editor's Notes as usual, and we're still a week ahead on recording time, just in case Adam has to pull away for a week for baby reasons, which is not entirely unlikely. We shall see! Catch you next time!
11 Jun 2024 | Episode #285 - Writers' Room: Wipeout #1-#4 | 02:03:51
W-w-w-w-w-w-wipeout!! Show Notes: Run Time: 2:03:50 That's right, we broke the two hour mark. Again. Sorry! If it makes you feel better, it's because we did an entire limited run of a comic book title! I'll bet you'll never guess which title, though... If you're on the Letters Page Patreon (and if you're not, why not?) join us this coming Friday at 11 AM Central for a live recording of Editor's Note #80! Which will be next week's episode! But, I highly recommend being there live, if possible. We might just have some secret plans...
13 Aug 2019 | Gen Con Live 2019! | 01:28:38
We had a very fun Gen Con this year! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:28:49 We talk about all manner of things, enjoy a very different musical guest than ever before, and are entirely serious the entire time! (One of those things might not be true. Hard to say.) And here's a Trevor's eye view of the room before we started while people were still coming in. There were a lot of people this year! Good thing Gen Con gave us a bigger room than ever before. Let's pack even more in next year! Between now and then, join us next week on our Patreon for a live recording of this month's Editor's Note!
31 Mar 2020 | Episode #139 - Creative Process: Absolute Zero Villains | 01:33:47
Some frigid foes! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:33:59 Minimal goofs, mostly due to existential dread. Tough times, these. Here's the image we discussed early on in the overview segment: Did you make this? If you're the one who made this, let us know! Good job. We'd love to give you credit for your good work. We hope you're all getting plenty of social distancing! Join us next month for more shelter in place and talk about Sentinel Comics!
21 Mar 2023 | Editor's Note #65 | 01:27:17
Good morning, everybody! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:27:28 We do some goofs at the beginning, as per usual! You know how it goes! Let's talk about the upcoming schedule!
Listen to those episodes! More importantly, submit questions for those episodes! I would tell you to get questions in for next week's episode (Tuesday, March 28th: Episode #243: Writers' Room: Sentinel Comics Horror Host for Tome of the Bizarre), but we've already recorded that episode! So, questions for next month, it is! Also, while I'm issuing directives, also check out Sentinels of the Multiverse: Disparation on BackerKit! It's going really well! See you next time!
28 Jul 2020 | Episode #152 - Creative Process: Argent Adept's Supporting Cast | 01:25:39
Let's make some magical friends! (Spoiler: most of these people are not magical, and many of them are not friends, either.) Show Notes: Run Time: 1:25:50 We goof around for a few minutes, and then get down to the business of making friends for a hard-to-be-friends-with hero! At around 38 minutes in, we get to your questions, on a variety of topics. This coming Friday is our recording of the Gen Con live recording! It'll be live on our YouTube channel, with the link posted on our Patreon. Please join us at 11 AM, Central Time!
14 Dec 2021 | Episode #198 - Creative Process: Villainous Holiday Plots | 01:21:03
Let's get festive! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:21:02 We don't have a specific plan, so we start telling stories, and this leads to giving away more than we originally intended. No worries! That's what we're here to do! This episode ends up almost being a series of lightning round Writers' Rooms! If you're on the Letters Page Patreon, join us this Friday for a live Editor's Note, which will be the last episode of the year! We hope to see you there!
28 Jan 2025 | Episode #307 - Creative Process: Distant Future Limited Series | 02:44:13
Come and hear tell of our PROPHES1ES! Show Notes: Run Time: 2:44:12 This one ran pretty long AND I tried to skip the banter at the beginning (entirely unsuccessfully) AND we didn't even cover every little bit of what we wanted (which we get into in the episode) AND we tried to speed up in the second half (with only marginal successful) but it's a big topic, and we've been percolating on parts of this one for a long time. I'm very happy with the stuff we came up with, and it's fertile creative soil for more, certainly! We're recording next week's episode — Episode #308 - Writers' Room: K.N.Y.F.E. can’t just punch her way out of a situation — TOMORROW, on January 29th, as I'll be out of town on Friday, our normal recording time. So get your K.N.Y.F.E. questions in now NOW NOW!
19 Oct 2021 | Episode #192 - Daybreak #6 | 01:36:18
The newest, youngest, RPGest team! And a spooooky adventure! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:36:31 Gotta say, we had a lot of fun delving into a lighter fare (but still spooky and frankly pretty dark) story with our Daybreak friends! But yeah, we managed to make it weird, even still. This Friday is an Editor's Note! Join us live if you're part of the Letters Page Patreon! We hope to "see" you all there for a Very Halloween Editor's Note!
14 Feb 2023 | Episode #239 - Writers' Room: Dark Watch Vol. 1 #47 | 01:48:33
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:48:47 We start off with a discussion of a particular cookie. We really get into it. This is the Il Alimento episode, if we were just talking about cookies as ourselves instead of in some weird chef character. Sorry about that / you're welcome? Then! We finally get into this accursed topic! And we craft a story that... we're ultimately pretty happy with? And yet also follows the prompt of "make a romance the fans hate". Enjoy? At the end of the episode, we talk a bunch about a Kickstarter that we have nothing to do with — we're just into it! We highly recommend you go check out the AEGIS 2 Kickstarter! The game is awesome, and we love it. Join us next week for an Editor's Note! Join the Patreon to be part of the live recording!
28 Nov 2017 | Episode 45 - Biomancer | 01:04:31
A creepy podcast about a creepy fellow, indeed! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:04:32 "We make things up and then are surprised when you like them." We start off with the first appearance of Biomancer in Sentinel Comics, and then get into the deeper truth behind who Biomancer really was. The truth is out there! And it's in this episode, too. We cover Biomancer's overview in under fifteen minutes. It's your questions (starting about 14 minutes in) that bring out all the really interesting stuff. This episode is on the shorter side, but that makes sense, given how little time Biomancer spends in the spotlight. Right after the 32 minute mark, we get into a MAJOR story reveal. One of the things we've been sitting on forever. You'll know what episode to ask your follow-up questions in when you hear what we're talking about. Around 43 minutes in, we get a question that leads into a Tachyon story that we greatly enjoy. Time for another "Christopher and Adam talk through a comic book page by page" type story! Then, around the 50 minute mark, we talk about the crossover with the Widow's Walk expansion to the game Betrayal at House on the Hill. Some creepiness ensues. And then weird stuff happens at the end of the episode! I don't remember any of this. Editor's Note in two days! If you have a burning desire to ask questions, ask them about Captain Cosmic and/or Infinitor!
28 Nov 2023 | Episode #268 - Writers' Room: Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 4 #60-#61 | 01:40:26
Two issues today? Show Notes: Run Time: 1:40:25 No, actually more than two issues! We have a LOT of issues, and we talk about many of them. That could be the tagline of The Letters Page, actually. Get your questions for "Young Legacy and Expatriette team-up" and "Alternate Freedom Five line-up" in ASAP! And Christopher will be at PAX Unplugged this weekend, so come find him!
02 Jan 2025 | News-Sode! | 00:06:36
Welcome to 2025, everyone! Did you think you would get a mini-sode on Tuesday, even after we expressly told you we would NOT be posting such a thing? Well, so did we! Unfortunately, The Fates had other plans, and Trevor was laid low by the throat of strep! Thus, you get this lil snippet a couple days later. But it still counts! Instead of a very end of 2024 mini-sode, enjoy this very beginning of 2025 mini-sode! And even while sick, Trevor managed to outdo himself on the audio on this one. Wild. That guy. He's gotta take a break at some point! That's what we want! Anyway, we shall get back to normal episodes next week. Until then, keep running. We'll catch you... WE'LL CATCH YOU!
09 Nov 2021 | Episode #194 - America's Finest Legacy #214 | 01:36:40
It's SCARY how well this episode went! Even though we recorded it much later than we usually do! And look at how cool this cover turned out! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:36:39 After some goofs and talking about Trevor, we get into the overview, in which we do a bunch of work! Well, first, an interview? (Trevor wanted me to tell you that the musical excerpt in today's episode is Jean-Joseph Mouret's Rondeau, as performed by Monsieur Croche, so you know.) Then a bit of a retcon. And then some new stuff! And all kinds of things. Far more than a single issue worth of story. Exciting times! Then, after a lot of story building and storytelling, we take some Mr. Jitters questions, some Adhesivist questions, and a few grab-bag questions! Join us next time for a Creative Process about Underworlds! And go check out the Devil Bunny Kickstarter!
19 Nov 2019 | Editor's Note #36 | 01:39:41
Good morning, everyone! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:39:54 The upcoming schedule!
Here's the calendar! We talk about a ton of things, including:
Thank you to all of our listeners, and an extra huge thanks to all of our Patreon supporters! Special thanks to Auburn Audience for making this delightful image for us in record time! Well done! Catch you next time!
31 Aug 2017 | Interlude 8 - Post-Gen Con Wrap-up and Retrospective | 00:39:41
We are still exhausted from Gen Con, but let's talk about how that show went! Show Notes: Run Time: 39:44 Christopher and Adam spend the first 7 minutes of the show just talking about how Gen Con went, especially the Letters Page Live panel. Spoilers: it went REALLY well. Just before the 5 minute mark, Christopher forgets the name of the musical instrument he played at the Letters Page Live panel. It's the melodica, dummy. The bulk of this interlude is getting to the questions that we brought to Gen Con to answer live, which are mostly general questions about both the world of Sentinel Comics and even this show. Shortly after the 10 minute mark, we have a question for our producer Trevor! We had intended on asking this question live when Trevor was there in the room with us, but instead, he was kind enough to record an answer separately. But we cannot allow him to release all of our secrets! On to the schedule of upcoming episodes!
So much thrilling content on the way! And look at all those interludes! As we mention in this interlude, we've already recorded the Haka episode, as Christopher is currently in Seattle for PAX Dev and PAX West, but all the other episodes on the schedule need your questions! Send us your questions!
07 May 2024 | Episode #281 - Writer's Room: Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 3 #170 | 01:37:36
We gotta save the planet! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:37:35 We tell a story... but first, we tell you all the Professor Pollution backstory connecting bits that we'd never bothered to go into before! So, you're welcome! And/or apologies! Depending on how you feel about all that. Anyway, right, then on to the story! You know what ultimately happens in it, but the beat-by-beat is still pretty dang good! At least, in our opinion. Join us next week for yet another "A Day In The Life" episode, this one all about Fanatic!
21 Nov 2017 | Episode 44 - Blood Magic | 01:25:28
An episode on the vital essence of most living things in Sentinel Comics! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:25:30 (A quick note on run times - I've been asked to stop listing the minutes in just minutes for episodes that take over an hour, thus the new format! Just to be entirely clear, the first number is the number of hours, the central number is number of minutes beyond that hour, and the last number is the number of seconds beyond those minutes.) The overview portion of today's episode covers a lot of topics! Right off the bat, we recommend you check out the Deadline/Lifeline episode, as it has some Blood Magic hints. Then, we get into the Blood Countess and the Court of Blood. After that, we talk about Bugbear, who we previously introduced in the NightMist episode and further explored with the Naturalist episode - both also recommended listening. Then, you might think we'd get into Hermetic, but first we have to go down a weird rabbit trail first about time and then about spices and flavoring. Oh, and then alchemy. After all that nonsense, it's Hermetic time! And what a time it is... Finally, about at the 23 minute mark, we get into your questions. That's right - the vast bulk of this episode are the questions you fine folks asked about blood. You're welcome. 56 minutes in, we're asked to tell the story of Lifeline in the Court of Blood. So we do! At the one hour and eleven minute marl, we're asked about werewolves... and we deliver! 8 minutes later, we talk about future stuff. Thanks for listening!
23 Jun 2020 | Editor's Note #43 | 01:32:32
Another Editor's Note, live from the internet! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:32:44 Here's the upcoming schedule!
Have I gotten to the office to update the calendar yet? Well, if there's a calendar pictured below, then yes! Otherwise, no, I haven't done it yet. Which one is it? Only you can know! In this episode, we cover a variety of topics, including:
Catch you next time! | |||
04 Aug 2020 | Gen Con Live(stream) 2020! | 01:47:28
We did a Gen Con live! Sort of! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:47:42 Right off the bat, I engage in an entirely visual goof, which doesn't work terribly well as radio... Fortunately, you can watch the video here! Trevor made some very special versions of the songs used in this song, including cool videos! Worth watching. We goof around a standard amount, taking roughly 7 minutes of episode time to do so, and then we take questions of all sorts, ranging so far and wide as to be impossible to properly represent here. What sorts of things do we talk about? You'll have to listen to find out! Friday of this week, Adam and I are recording the "Legacy Supporting Cast" episode that you all wanted so badly. Totally a thing you demanded and not a thing we made happen. *innocent whistling* ANYWAY, get your Legacy questions in, now!
10 Mar 2020 | Episode #137 - Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 3, Issue #61 | 00:58:21
Chrono-Ranger in Feudal Japan! Show Notes: Run Time: 58:28 Under an hour?! An episode that doesn't break the hour mark?!?! It's true. We only had two questions for this episode, so the questions section is much shorter than usual. Not to fear, though - we've already been amassing questions for the next couple episodes, and there are lots. This one just happened to be a bit more on the quiet side. We get to the overview portion in which we establish the type of story, determine when it lands, and then craft and tell the tale, starting a bit before the 4 minute mark. That process takes us more than half of the episode, so we get to questions after 38 minutes in. Then, only several minutes later, we talk about the cover right after the 51 minute mark. And that's the show! Thanks everyone for listening! Don't forget, if you're on the Letters Page Patreon, you can join us for a live show on March 20th! And if you're not on the Letters Page Patreon... well, you could be!
22 Sep 2020 | Episode #156 - Writers’ Room: Terminal Ballistics #18 | 01:29:53
Let's. Get. 90s. Show Notes: Run Time: 1:30:04 Adam and I missed each other so much. We haven't seen each other in so long. We almost died. Witness our heartwrenching reunion. After only a few minutes of goofs, we get to the overview where we do a bunch of work of a variety of sorts! Positioning, informing, redacting, problem solving, creating, naming, storytelling, and more! And we go through it pretty quickly, considering how much we make! You never know how long we're going to linger on any one thing. A bit before the 39 minute mark, we dig into your questions on a variety of related (and barely related) topics. And after about 40+ minutes of that, we talk briefly about the cover, which can be seen above! Thanks everyone for listening! We enjoy reading your letters and answering your questions - send us your questions using this nifty form! Catch you next time!
27 Feb 2024 | Episode #274 - Writers' Room: Cosmic Tales Vol. 2 #107-#108 | 01:43:49
NOW we're REALLY back! For a few weeks, at least. But still! TWO COVERS! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:43:48 Right off the bat, a new upcoming schedule!
After that, things depend on how recovery goes, and whether or not I go to PAX East. We'll keep you updated as we know more! Sorry for things still being so up in the air, but it's for very good reasons, at least! And then, to the episode! Do we tell a tale? YES! Emphatically yes. We cover a lot, and we do the whole thing live! Remember: we're recording the next episode TOMORROW! So, if you have any questions, now is the time to submit them! SUBMIT!
25 May 2017 | Interlude 5 - Dark Watch | 00:32:02
A team of misfits and shady characters who have to protect each other in a city - and a world - that's safe for no one! It's time to talk Dark Watch. Show Notes: Run Time: 32:01 A very brief overview before jumping right in on your questions! Also, here's the upcoming episode release schedule!
Whew! Get those Chokepoint & K.N.Y.F.E. questions in TODAY! See you soon!
13 Nov 2018 | Episode 91 - Inversiverse Prime Wardens | 01:22:40
A group of characters you know as heroes but in this other reality are far from it! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:22:51 After some brief goofs, we give a brief overview of the Inversiverse and what we're talking about specifically today. Then, we get right to your questions at only 6 minutes into the episode! Around the 14 minute mark, at the end of the first question, we get a request for pictures of each member of Perestroika for the upcoming episode. I put them on the Patreon, but available to not just Patreon supporters, but everyone! Check them out here. The second question takes us on a journey through the story of Seraph, who ends up being way cooler than anyone expected. Why are your expectations of us so low? Give us some credit here, folks! Whew! That's a lot of story telling! More questions give away even more, which is what we're here to do. If you have any questions for the Perestroika episode, get them in now, as we're recording that on this Friday! And the voting for the December episodes is already happening on the Letters Page Patreon!
27 Aug 2024 | Episode #291 - Creative Process: Benchmark Foes | 02:03:37
It's the first Creative Process in a long time! Will this become some sort of new standard?! Show Notes: Run Time: 2:03:36 This is the first of two episodes we recorded in one day, and we inteded to go through it (and next week's episode) quickly to make two in one day possible... but look at that run time! Geeze! Well, we probably learned our lesson for next week. Time will tell! We talk a bunch about the sorts of foes that Benchmark faces and make up some new ones! And also answer many questions! We already recorded next week's episode, but as we mention at the end of the episode, the following week we'll be talking about Time Trust, so get your questions in for that story now!
10 May 2022 | Episode #212 - Writers' Room: America's Newest Legacy #521 | 01:23:28
Time for a trio team-up! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:23:28 This one was a tough story to make work! We go down a lot of false trails before fighting out how we want to make this happen. They can't all be easy! We hope you enjoy this peek behind the curtain, seeing what's it's like when we're struggling. All part of the process! Get your Absolute Zero and Muerto questions in now! We're recording on Wednesday this week (tomorrow!) instead of Friday, and recording TUESDAY of next week! That's right! The live show next week is being recorded only a couple hours after next week's episode goes live! Join us!
12 Dec 2017 | Episode 47 - Cosmic Contest | 02:46:38
A Contest of Cosmic proportions! Show Notes: Run Time: 2:46:41 Whole lotta story going on today! Who will win? Only time will tell! I mean, actually, we're gonna tell you. In this episode. The show notes today would be pretty spoilerific, so I'm just going to give some useful timestamps here. The whole thing is story, so just listen to it! After a few minutes of banter and overview, we cover what all of the tiers and brackets contain, and then get right into going through each of the fights in Round One. Coverage of Round Two begins at around the one hour and 8 minutes mark. The fights start getting more intense now! We begin Round Three right before the one hour, 40 minutes mark. Everything's really heating up now! This round determines the winner of each tier! With those winners determined, we move on to the Quarter Finals at an hour and 52 minutes in, with the last characters standing from each tier facing the winner from the opposing tier. The Semi-Finals begin at 2:02:12. Just two matches here and then it's time for the finals! The Final match to win it all begins at the two hours, 11 minutes mark. Whew. What a contest! We dig into your questions around two hours and 20 minutes. Did you win? As we discuss around 2:37:37, if you submitted a winning entry, let us know at letterspage@greaterthangames.com! See you next week!
29 Oct 2024 | Episode #298 - Writers' Room: The Guise Book #18-20 | 01:47:17
The Delusional Comedy! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:47:16 Guise is back! And he's extra ridiculous! As per usual! We find our hero in unexpected realms accompanied by a mysterious guide and dealing with Guise's worst nemeses: the consequences of his own actions. How horrible! With this episode, we wrap up the spooky month of October... and move into the even spookier month of November! Send us questions for next week's Episode #299 - Writers’ Room: Rambler vs Biomancer!
12 Jan 2021 | Episode #163: Writers' Room: Ra: God of the Sun #255 | 01:31:22
First "normal" episode of the year! How normal, you ask? Not very at all, actually! Thanks for asking! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:31:34 Right off the bat, we get weird. Like really weird. Look. I'm sorry. OK? The goofs go ever on and on, down from the door where it began... But even we must finally talk about the actual topic of the day. We get into it at the 7 minute mark. There's a lot of storytelling. It's pretty OK. We seem to still remember how to do this. Whew! A bit before the 39 minute mark, we begin to address your questions, delightful as they are. Thanks for joining us! We hope you can join us this Friday for the live recording of this month's Bullpen, featuring Special Guest DAVE! (And Not Really All That Special In Comparison Guest Paul.)
18 Jun 2019 | Editor's Note #31 | 01:10:53
We take your questions. We give you answers. You know the deal. Or do you? Show Notes: Run Time: 1:11:01 At the start of the show, we talk a bit of shop about possibilities for new formats of episodes. At the time of recording, the votes weren't in yet for next month's episodes, but there are now! So: Upcoming schedule:
Then, at around the 12 minute mark, we get to your questions! We cover such exciting topics as:
Thanks as always to Trevor, our Patreon supporters, Sentinels fans everywhere, and listeners like YOU!
04 Dec 2018 | Episode #93 - Disparation: Inversiverse Dark Watch | 01:21:17
From morally grey to just straight-up evil - what could go wrong?! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:21:27 After the usual goofing around at the beginning, in a shocking change of pace, we bring back the Overview! There, we do some setting explanation to help place what's going on here, both in the world - or Multiverse, rather - of Sentinel Comics and in the metaverse, as well. We also talk about both Rook Cities. Two? Yes, two. But more about one than the other. Then, we get to your questions right after the 12 minute mark. And, as has been the case with some recent episodes, we let the story happen bit by bit in the answers to your questions! Good questions, everyone. Right after the 1 hour and 2 minute mark, Christopher's voice changes to a much more gravelly version. Here's a peek behind the curtain: we lost about 10 minutes of audio from the original recording of this episode. Something weird happened and it was gone. Fortunately, we had very good notes, and as soon as we got back from PAX Unplugged, Christopher and Adam re-recorded that section, and we're actually way happier with the way it turned out this time. Honestly, if we could just re-record every episode 3-5 times before putting the audio live, they'd be even better... but that's ridiculous. Anyway! Christopher's voice was pretty wrecked from the convention, as per usual, but you only have to hear it sounding so rough until around the 1 hour and 13 minute mark. Thanks for listening, everyone! As ever, check out our Patreon for even more stuff!
29 Aug 2017 | First Annual Letters Page Live, from Gen Con 2017 | 01:58:30
Want to hear what happened at Gen Con 2017? Here's your chance! We had a blast at our first live episode of The Letters Page! We couldn't have asked for a better audience. So many fun things! Also, if you'd rather see what happened in this Letters Page Live episode, check out this video! Besides the entire gang of Adam, Christopher, Trevor, and even Paul, we also were graced by the presence of Christopher's brother Anthony, who wrote and performed the "Christopher and Adam reading letters to you" song. Anthony added a lot to this live episode. Now, on to the few actual show notes for this episode! Show Notes: Run Time: 118:33 First thing first! As Trevor mentions in the intro to the episode, there are a lot of spoilers. We're not going to tag them all individually. Just know that wading into this episode means getting into SPOILERS territory! Next, you'll notice that Christopher's voice sounds more awful than usual. He used it up by the end of the first day of Gen Con. What you hear is all he has left. But he still somehow made it through the entire two hour episode, more or less. About four minutes in, Christopher lays some ground rules. These apply to all Letters Page questions ever, actually! 1. We don't have favorite heroes or villains. Stop asking. These rules all apply to us as well, and we do our best to not break them. I'm going to put notes here whenever Anthony plays a song, in case you want to navigate straight to the music bits. The first one starts at 8:12. After that, Christopher, Adam, and Anthony talk about the "history" of the song. Mostly because we were all so blown away by everyone at the panel singing along. Even the high parts. And then we actually start getting into questions, reading a couple of questions that we printed out in advance for the panel, just to get things rolling. Another musical interlude! This one starts at 18:10. And then we got into questions from people at the panel. The line of people asking questions was... notably long. The second person in the line was dressed as Spite. Which was very creepy! But then he turned out to be LevelUpLeo! (We've been pronouncing his last name wrong this whole time! Now we know better.) We recorded this episode on Saturday afternoon. That morning, we'd held a costume contest, so there were lots of folks at this panel in brilliant and creative costumes straight out of the pages of Sentinel Comics. It was wonderful. Another song from Anthony at 44:41. Followed by Anthony's story of what inspired that song. Then, we go back to reading a few of the letters that we printed out in advance, just to break things up a bit! And then we sort of spill a pile of beans about OblivAeon story stuff that we've apparently never talked about publicly before? So, that's good. Enjoy! Another Anthony song at 58:12. This leads into more questions from the audience. Lots more great questions! Oh, also some more huge spoiler reveals. A notably one right after the 70 minute mark. Probably not a big deal. *innocent whistle* Around 81 minutes in, Argent Adept gives us a "Damage -1" token. Then, Citizen Dawn begins laughing ominously in the background. 95 minutes into the episode, Guise makes his appearance. He's exhausting. As a result of that, starting around the 97 minute mark, Christopher loses it and reveals the secret behind where all of Sentinel Comics comes from. It's not pretty. Then! A bit after 99 minutes in, Christopher and Adam disagree on the air! Don't worry - they work it out. One of our favorite things that happened in this panel is that we drop a spoiler for our future plans at 109:50ish, but no one really seemed to pick up on it. Wonder what we meant by that... Probably nothing important! Right? The final musical interlude from Anthony occurs at 112:30, though this is not the final song of the episode! After that, just a bit of closing words. We're entirely overwhelmed by how great our listeners are, and how wonderful the Sentinel Comics community is. Seriously, you people are amazing. We close the episode with another "Christopher and Adam" singalong. Goodnight and good luck.
05 Jul 2022 | Episode #218 - Writer's Room: Freedom Five #683 | 01:48:11
It's pirate time! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:48:10 We've got quite the story for you today, and it's all happening live (except for the fact that I did a bunch of middle of the night thinking about the story before we recorded, as discussed on the air). We tell more than just an issue or two of story in today's episode — we range far and wide, but still manage to go deep on more than just today's cover issue! We've been on a creative roll, and you get to reap the benefits! Join us next time for a Creative Process episode all about Scholar Villains! Get your questions in now!
02 Jan 2024 | Holid-AI Mini-Sode | 00:14:09
Happy Holidays to all of you fantastic letter writers, game players, Patreon supporters, shippers, and listeners of all types! From all of us here at the Letters Page: Christopher, Adam, Trevor, and the computers that simulate our existence. Let's make 2024 the best year ending in "24" yet!
09 Apr 2024 | Episode #278 - Writers' Room: A Day In The Life: The Argent Adept | 01:40:00
Another Day in another Life! The musical episode? (No.) Show Notes: Run Time: 1:39:59 It's been awhile since we've done one of these, and we're excited to return to the format. Did we make it work? You decide! Also, check out this kick-ass cover that Adam slaved over! Mighty impressive! We also field a bunch of letters on a few topics, and we attempt to answer them all! I realize that's pretty much every episode, but it's also this one! Join us next week for an episode about space anti-hero big dummy, earth-to-space-to-earth fashion model turned vigilante vs cosmic Jaws (TM, don't sue us).
21 Dec 2021 | Editor's Note #51 | 00:59:16
Last Editor's Note of the year! Show Notes: Run Time: 59:16 We start with some goofs and some holiday singing, and then we get to apologies and corrections! We had been previously calling someone by the wrong name — his actual name is "Trickline the Despoiler", not "Tripline". Whoops. Also, the bar name is "The Wretched Hive", not "Scum and Villainy". You all know this. We just make mistakes a lot? Sorry! What's coming up for the first month of the new year?
Can we pull it off? Time will tell! This episode, we talk about:
See you next year! | |||
10 Nov 2020 | Publishers' Note #7 | 01:42:35
Paul and Christopher are a bit loopy, but that doesn't mean they can't answer questions! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:42:48 There's a pretty heavy-hitting topic right off the bat, even before the actual question section, but then we get into questions and never quite recover! Paul spends... a LOT of time talking about Star Trek. We hope you like Star Trek. Or at least hearing Paul talk about Star Trek. And there are TWO different game shows in this episode! Who would have guessed?! All in all, more silliness and also some potentially useful (though mostly useless) info was dispensed. Another successful Publishers' Note! If you have any questions for the next episode: "Writers’ Room: NightMist vs Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde" make sure you get them in before this Friday, November 13th! Send them in using this handy form!
24 Oct 2017 | Episode 40 - Guise | 01:49:00
Our first episode with a special guest, invited or otherwise! Show Notes: Run Time: 109:14 Our long awaited Episode 40 is here, and wow is it a strange one! We'd like to apologize right now for being so mean to Guise in this episode. He took us by surprise. We don't deal with being surprised by wise-cracking shapeshifters in our recording space very gracefully, apparently. We take our time with the Overview segment this time, as we've got a bunch of stories to tell that don't really come out in the card game other than in little hints here and there. Also, we cover quite a few stories in the more in-depth, line-by-line way. No spoilers as to what we're talking about here, though! Gotta find out by listening! Anyway, as a result, we don't get to the Questions segment until a few minutes past an hour into the episode. Whew! Lots of good questions! From lots of great people! We get called out about not being good at counting pool balls in a question just before 71 minutes in. Yup, we goofed. Then back to more story-related questions! Of which there are many! Also, lots of "how the heck does Guise do [blank]" questions. Fair, fair. A minute or two before the 90 minute mark, we get a question about the Celestial Tribunal and their view of Guise and The Scholar. It's one of my favorite little glimpses of Guise from an outside perspective. Just throwing that out there. At just past the 103 minute mark, we close the Question section with a short but very good letter, and then jump into the future section, in which Guise takes the wheel for a brief moment and essentially goes off-roading. We get it back on track pretty quick, though. Mixed metaphors, galore! Thanks so much for listening! We've got a hefty Editor's Note this coming Thursday, and then we'll be recording the Wager Master episode on Friday, so get your Wager Master questions in now!
15 Aug 2017 | Episode 31 - Visionary | 01:45:45
Time travel and psychic shenanigans! The many forms of Vanessa Long! Show Notes: Run Time: 105:49 We deal with multiple realities - and multiple Vanessa Longs (Vanessas Long?) in the first ten minutes, so buckle up! Brief show notes today, because: Gen Con! So, we promised a link to the Lazer Ryders Soundtrack in the show notes. Here it is on Spotify. It's also available on Bandcamp. Not sure if there's a better place to get it, but those are both pretty legit! Also, for a sample, check out the song Trevor chose for our episode-ending music. The questions segment has a bunch of nonsense about Biomancer's creations, the Cult of Gloom, and even the kingdom of Cooltopia? I don't know what's happening with our own podcast these days. In the future section, we have two spoiler sections. The last bit of the Sentinel Tactics future is spoilers (from 95:30 to 96:35), and the entire Sentinel Comics RPG timeline segment is also spoilers. (from 97:09 to 99:20). As mentioned, we're already at Gen Con! If you'll be at Gen Con on Saturday, come crash our Letters Page Live recording panel on Saturday! Also, because we're in Indianapolis and away from our office all this week, we've already recorded the RevoCorp/Benchmark episode! It's too late for your questions! While we're gone, if you want to ask questions for upcoming episodes, I'll leave you with this hint: we have just begun to cover the Prime Wardens and their nemeses...
07 Jun 2022 | Episode #215 - Disparation Vol. 2 #103 | 01:26:15
Time for a bit of passionate heroics! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:26:14 We're into the month of June! Disparation all month! Will it wear out its welcome? Who can say? Time will tell! First, we get into the heady topic of "chip clips" and then solve them. Also, we tackle fries. Is this the return of the food episode? Listen and find out! This coming Friday, we're recording an episode about "Vampire World". Get your questions in before the sun rises and we all turn to dust!
03 Sep 2019 | Episode #119 - Writers' Room: Disparation Vol. 1 Issue #1 | 01:30:08
We create and tell the first official Disparation story! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:30:19 This one is a delightful jaunt of an episode. We're excited to dig into a Disparation story again - each of the previous Disparation-focused episodes have been a lot of fun, and getting to tell the first ever is a blast! Also, hot damn, that cover is awesome. Adam continues to knock it out of the park. If you're reading this and looking at the cover before listening to the episode, you'll just have to tune in to find out what's going on here! Thank you to all of our listeners and supporters for making this happen, especially those of you over on The Letters Page Patreon. We are thrilled to get to keep making content for all of you.
13 Apr 2017 | Interlude 3 - the Betterlude! | 00:23:32
This interlude is called the Betterlude, because we recorded it once already, but now it's back and better than ever! Show Notes: Run Time: 23:31 Things we talk about!
Thanks for listening! | |||
07 Nov 2017 | Episode 42 - Spite | 01:53:34
Of all the villains we've talked about so far, this one is possibly the most evil. Show Notes: Run Time: 113:40 To reiterate what we mention in content warning at the very start of the episode, you might not want to listen to this episode with your kids. Or, at least, pre-screen this episode for content. Spite's pretty awful. In this episode, we reference both The Wraith's episode and GloomWeaver's episode. They're both pretty important to what's going on here, so you should probably check them out, if you haven't already. We start the question segment just after half an hour into the episode, but we spend the first couple minutes just talking about Spite before actually reading any of your questions. Yeah, that sounds like us. A bit after 45 minutes in, we talk about a misleading quote on a card and how the flavor text actually comes from a much earlier comic than the art depicted on a card, and why we did that thing. Not an error! But it sure looks like one. A couple minutes after the hour mark, Christopher reads the longest letter we've ever received. No, that is not a challenge. Don't try to beat this letter. Please. We almost canned this letter just based on length. Send us your questions about environments!
14 Aug 2023 | Gen Con Live 2023 | 01:40:30
Coming at you, both LIVE and NEON! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:40:30 How could I pick from all these fantastic photos? Look at them! The show starts off with some yelling as I throw shutter shades and snap bracelets into the audience — no one got hurt! Which is shocking, really. Then, we take more photos! A little after the 5 minute mark, we do some great radio that isn't explained well on the air. It culminates in me removing my tie and tying it around Adam's head as a headband. It was another fantastic live show, with both Trevor and Jean-Marc helping out a ton, and even a surprise appearance from Paul Bender to reprise a segment from last year. AND! Tons of fantastic listeners, many of whom we knew by name but had never met before. That was a cool experience for us, to be sure. Join us next week for an Editor's Note next week, and if you're on the Patreon, join us this coming Friday for a live recording of said Editor's Note! Oh, and speaking of the Letters Page Patreon, if you're a Patreon supporter, you can get all the audio files from today's episode over there! Pretty cool, right?
26 Sep 2023 | Episode #261 - Rook City Renegades #100 | 01:15:17
The most extreme non-extremeverse story! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:15{6 According to Trevor, this may be our most gruesome episode since the Spite episode! Fitting. Also: sorry! This is the week of recording lots of episodes, so get your questions in now Now NOW! Join us next week for Episode #262: Robert Johnson vs the Headless Horseman!
17 May 2022 | Episode #213 — Justice Comics Vol. 2, Issue #5 | 01:38:33
A spooky tale?! From the Sentinels Universe?! NOT IN NOVEMBER?! Huge if true. Show Notes: Run Time: 1:38:33 We hit the ground running at speeds unlike any we have ever reached! And yet, we STILL spend a chunk of time on the story and also read and answer a variety of letters! If you're listening to this right when it comes out and you're a Letters Page Patreon subscriber, you can join us live for this month's Editor's Note RIGHT NOW! Come join in! Also, join us next week for Episode #214: Writers' Room: Setback & Unity team-up! Get your questions in now!
08 Aug 2017 | Episode 30 - Akash'Bhuta and Akash'Others! | 01:58:20
Akash'Bhuta, Akash'Thriya, and more! Show Notes: Run Time: 118:27 This show covers more time than any other episode. It's also one of our longest episodes! Appropriate. Around 5:40, we posit that this episode won't be longer than the Argent Adept episode. We were wrong. But just barely! Still, we shouldn't have been surprised. It takes us about half an hour to go through the first couple hundred million years. Then, we start slowing down, only covering thousands or even hundreds of years at a time. Bear with us! We eventually get more into the blow-by-blow stuff that happens in the pages of Sentinel Comics. Recommended listening: the Argent Adept episode, and the Naturalist episode. At the beginning of the question section - around 45 minutes in - we clear up a thing that we straight up did wrong. We have officially said before the Akash'Bhuta's first appearance was in Prime Wardens #1. There is no way that's correct. Her first appearance was in Virtuoso of the Void #12, and we even know that! We were shocked to look back at what we'd released publicly. We just wrote down the wrong first appearance. We're very sorry. On to the rest of the fantastic questions! So much to unpack! A few fishy things happen in the other questions. Another letter from the Cult of Gloom, Princess Cool asserts that she's the original, and we're pretty sure that Biomancer is up to something... In the future section, we first go over when the timeline split occurs in the Akash story. Then we talk about the rough stuff going on in the Sentinel Tactics timeline. For the Sentinel Comics RPG timeline, we have to use the SPOILERS tag. From 107:00 to 114:22 so that we can talk about [redacted] and [redacted]. We also take one more question! Enjoy! As we mention at the end of the episode, we're recording on Thursday this week, and we're actually recording TWO episodes on that day, due to Gen Con. So! Get your Visionary and RevoCorp questions in by early Thursday morning at the latest! Anything after that won't make the cut! Looking forward to seeing some of you next week at Gen Con!
17 Dec 2019 | Editor's Note #37 | 01:35:36
It's the Holiday times! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:35:49 We had a pile of technical difficulties, but we still made it work! Thanks to Trevor for cleaning up everything with his fancy editing. Here's the upcoming schedule:
We also had a pile of questions! On a pile of topics! Including:
Catch you next time! EDIT: As mentioned in the show, Adam asks his SCRPG players three questions at the start of a campaign:
| |||
09 Jun 2020 | Episode #147 - Writers' Room: A Day In The Life: Bunker | 01:09:58
Let's talk about Tyler Vance! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:10:06 We craft three stories, possibly in record time? We were shocked at how well it went, honestly. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do! After speedy storytelling, we get into your questions just after the 29 minute mark. We talk about the cover - which you can see above - at about 1 hour and 2 minutes in. Adam went all in on the Barry Windsor-Smith style! If you're a contributor to the Letters Page Patreon, voting is up now! Go tell us what to do! If you're not on the Letters Page Patreon, maybe today is the day? Only you can decide! Catch y'all next time!
01 Oct 2024 | Episode #295 - Writers' Room: Cosmic Tales Vol. 2 #188 | 02:00:10
In space, no one can hear you control the weather... Show Notes: Run Time: 2:00:09 Another two hour episode? Must mean we were recording two episodes in one day again! (That's exactly what happened, in fact!) Welcome to the first of two spooky months! I hope you're ready for so many spooky times! (And some non-spooky times, as well.) This one we really went all out for, in terms of crafting a tale wholecloth on the air. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Next week's episode (which is about Darkstrife and Painstake) is already in the bag, but definitely send in questions for La Comodora's first appearance AND the upcoming Guise in hell episodes! And if you're going to be in Essen, Germany this weekend, come by our booth in Hall 2 and say hi! I'll be there running games of Defenders of the Realms and/or Compile!
07 Nov 2023 | Episode #266 - Writers' Room: Arcane Tales Vol. 2 #506 | 01:25:32
Spooky season continues with a Very Spooky November! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:25:31 This one gets pretty extreme! We're gonna tell a few issues worth of story, and we're going to try to not make this the longest episode, as a result. We think we did a pretty OK job at both — what do you think? Join us next week for Episode #267: Prime Wardens in the Egyptian Underworld! Get your questions in about it now!
02 Apr 2024 | Episode #277 - Writers' Room: Mind Over Matter #53 | 01:37:30
We're going to a darker time! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:37:29 We're right at it, and telling a story that gets pretty Dark... Dark Visionary, that is! I'd say "spoilers", but you could have already seen the cover by this point, so there you go. And it happened at the same time as the Vengeance limited series, as promised! Want to know more? You'll just have to listen to the episode! Next week, we get to do another Day in the Life episode, this one about The Argent Adept! Join us!
03 Oct 2017 | Episode 37 - Fanatic | 01:26:46
It's everyone's favorite avenging angel! Show Notes: Run Time: 86:49 This is a big one, folks. Not a super long one, but a big one, nonetheless. The first sixteen minutes of the podcast are focused on covering who Fanatic is, how she grew up, how her powers manifested, and a couple of her early notable stories. Then, we give a notable disclaimer that I'm going to reiterate here: if knowing the nitty-gritty truth of Fanatic would in some way ruin the character for you, stop listening after the 16 minute mark. Just call it a day and pick up with another episode. Probably not next week, as that's Apostate, so we'll be going even deeper into divine spoilers territory, but the week after that is The Scholar and then Guise after that, so those are fair game. Anyway, point is, you have to decide for yourself if you want to know Fanatic's truth better than she does, or if you want to keep living by faith alone. Up to you. I'm keeping the show notes pretty brief today, so as to not put any spoilers in the text for folks that are choosing to skip the rest of the episode. About half an hour in, we start talking about blood magic and vampires, and end up covering a bit of Court of Blood business as well. Bonus info in this already info-filled episode! We get into your questions at the 36 minute mark. Lots of great questions this episode! We do our best to not let you down with our answers. If you have questions about Apostate or The Host, get them in now! We're looking forward to answering them when we record on Friday!
09 Jul 2019 | Episode #116 - Creative Process: Shear Force | 01:23:09
We make stuff up - as we often do - but not really for Sentinel Comics! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:23:20 We build out the world (and even a bit of the meta-verse) for the Shear Force property, as introduced in episode 102. We get into the overview just before the 4 minute mark, and there we get down to brass tacks about figuring about just what IS Shear Force. There's an animated show, and there are comics, but most importantly, there are toys. This all definitely hinges around toys. We get REALLY into it. In retrospect, this feels a lot like the conversations we had when we were first creating Sentinels of the Multiverse, but also very different. After a lot of creative nonsense, we answer a few questions, starting a bit after the 1 hour minute mark. Thank you all for listening! We hope you enjoy listening to this at least half as much as we enjoyed doing the creative work. This Friday, we'll be doing a live recording of this month's Editor's Note, so if you're on the Letters Page Patreon, we hope you can watch that, and possibly even join in if you're a Contributor. See you then!
12 Nov 2019 | Episode #127 - Creative Process: Animated Series Phase 3 | 01:38:39
Time for a very animated episode! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:38:51 In this episode, we start off by talking a bit about the previous animated series stuff, as it's all quite excellent. Seriously, go listen to those other animated series episodes - they're great. Then, after about four and a half minutes of banter, we get into this latest phase of animated shows: four shows (including one entirely new show) and two movies! That takes us... a while. Finally, we get to your questions right around the one hour and eighteen minute mark. Thank you for the great questions, everyone! The week this episode comes out will feature a live Editor's Note recording at 11 AM Central Time this coming Friday, November 15th! We hope to catch you then!
25 Jan 2018 | Editor's Note #14 | 00:56:42
The first Editor's Note of 2018! Run Time: 56:49 Upcoming Schedule:
Topics of today's Editor's Note:
And the promised photos: With the posting of this episode, you have less than 24 hours to get in any questions about The Operative! Ask your questions about her and the above upcoming schedule characters and topics!
29 Jan 2019 | Episode #98 - Post-OblivAeon Environments | 01:12:58
Let's talk about the final five environments! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:13:08 OK, so right off the bat, we get it terribly wrong. We claim that the SCRPG Kickstarter is live. When this episode goes live, that's not the case. The Kickstarter goes live an hour after this episode launches. We just did a bad job at thinking about time when we recorded this episode. Go us. That said, if you're listening to this episode right when it goes live, the SCRPG Kickstarter will go live around the 1 hour mark of this episode! Moving right along, just before the 5 minute mark, we get into your questions, starting with questions about Champion Studios and San Alonso. At around the 23 minute mark, we start in on questions about Fort Adamant and everything going on there. A bit after 32 minutes in, we visit scenic Mordengrad! Such a lovely place. We dance with the goat! Then, just after the 41 minute mark, we take a trip to the Nexus of the Void. Totally normal place. NBD. And then, finally, shortly after the 57 mark, we get to Plavu'Col, the Maerynian Refuge. Whew! The Kickstarter campaign for Sentinel Comics: the Roleplaying Game is live by now! Go check it out! See you next time.
14 Jun 2018 | Extrasode #3 - Story Meets Mechanics | 02:01:23
An Extrasode about how story and mechanics work together in Sentinel Comics games! Show Notes: Run Time: 2:01:27 Another extrasode attended live by our Patreon Contributors! Do you want to be a part of our next live recording! Join us on the Letters Page Patreon! We officially move on to the submitted questions around the 17 minute mark, though we answer a couple questions from the live chat before that. Finally, after we have talked about all manner of story and mechanics interactions, we talk about the near future of Sentinel Comics - and I'm not talking about the stories from the comic books. Around an hour and 50 minutes in, we explain the plans for OblivAeon, the Letters Page, the Sentinel Comics RPG, and more. There's a lot going on with Sentinel Comics, and we're taking some time to make everything go together correctly. Thanks for listening!
11 Jul 2017 | Episode 26 - Plague Rat | 01:16:00
An episode about a slavering rat beast! Show Notes: Run Time: 76:10 Just a warning: we rehash some old jokes this show. We're out of material, folks. You heard it here! We're already washed up. But there are also some actual reveals in this episode! Like Plague Rat's real human name from before he was fully rattened! This is an episode of cautionary tales and important life lessons. Brush your teeth. Don't play in the sewers. Don't do drugs. Or crime. Stay in school, kids. We go from drug dealer, to rat beast, to infectious rat beast, to captured rat beast... look, a lot happens with Plague Rat, actually. You'll just have to listen to the episode! And we have a decently long Q&A segment today! Lots of fun stuff there. Good questions. Strange answers. And even a few twists! And we wrap up with a glimmer of hope for the future. Next week is Ra!
23 Apr 2019 | Editor's Note #29 | 01:21:13
We're gonna answer so many questions! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:21:16 We do a lot of goofing around before we get to the schedule, but here's the schedule!
And here's what our calendar looks like: You may note that the recording for Editor's Note #30 is happening on Wednesday the 15th instead of the following Friday. Adam is out of town the rest of that week, so we have to do the recording earlier than usual. Our Patreon supporters can watch/join in live! Finally, we get to your questions starting around 11 minutes in. We talk about such exciting things as:
Thanks to all of our listeners and Patreon supporters for making what we do possible! Until next time, heroes!
19 Apr 2022 | Editor's Note #54 | 01:19:22
It's almost May! But first: the rest of April! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:19:21 Another fun show with a bunch of great comments and questions from our live chat! Here's the upcoming schedule:
Join us in May for many team-ups in celebration of Adam's birthmonth! Next week, we're doing a Neighborhood Watch episode! Get your questions in now!
20 Dec 2022 | Episode #235 - Writers' Room: Justice Comics #583 | 01:15:39
Choo-chooooose Sentinel Comics this holiday season! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:15:38 Happy Holiday times, everyone! We've got a story full of Christmas cheer... and trains heist! Multiple trains; one heist. You'll see! If you're on the Letters Page Patreon, join us this Thursday for a very Christopher-and-Adam-mas Editor's Note! Also, for Patreonists, voting is up for next month's topics! Go vote! See you soon!
27 Apr 2017 | Interlude 4 - The Meta-fiction Interlude! | 00:16:18
It's an interlude about the everything of everything! Show Notes: Run Time: 16:17 First off, here's the upcoming schedule:
Rock 'n' Roll! Racing! Get your Absolute Zero questions is now Now NOW! Time is fleeting! In this episode, we talk about what it means to be a Sentinel, what a recurring villain is, how we can all do better, how this whole thing came to be, and more! And, thanks to brilliant listener Princess Cool, we now know what a group of Nazi Ghosts would be called. See you next week!
11 Jan 2022 | Episode #199 - Writers' Room: The Guise Book #50 | 01:48:43
Oh no, is Guise in trouble?!?! Run Time: Show Notes: 1:48:42 It's a new year! We made it to 2022, everyone! Shocking, we know. Christopher and Adam are surprised by the weather, but not to worry — it's cold again now. But it wasn't for a little while! Before we get into it, we do a bit of mild campaigning for one particular episode we'd love to record next month. So, if you're a supporter of our Patreon, go vote! Then, we create a story! We had some intention from the start, but no real plans... until they unfold organically! Just like these often go, but with more Guise than usual! Speaking of the Patreon, if you're on there, join us this Friday for a live Editor's Note! First one of the year! We hope to see you there!
15 Dec 2020 | Episode #162 - Writers' Room: The Savage Haka #177 | 01:32:40
Happy Holidays, everyone! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:32:52 Adam is back! Or, rather he will be starting next month! Except next month's schedule will feel similar to the last couple months because of beginning of the year reasons and having a packed Editor's Note! But forget about all that: ADAM IS BACK! Sort of! Whatever! Get excited! We are silly for about 7 minutes, and then we get into actually writersing this room, in which we continue to be silly. That said, given that this is a Haka story, who could have guessed that we'd start with an action-based story but then pull a switcheroo and make it about feelings and sadness? Would we do that? Who can say? After much storying and telling and a little crossover of both of those words, we get to your questions at around the 41 minute mark. At around an hour and 28 minutes, we talk very briefly about a cover. We know right away what it should be. Glimpse its glory above! Quite good. 28 Aug 2018 | Episode 80 - The Incoming Storm: From the Mist Storm Universe to Prime War | 03:11:30
This is a big one... in a lot of ways. But well worth it for what's to come. Show Notes: Run Time: 3:11:29 You read that run time correctly - this episode is over 3 hours. However! It is only our second longest episode, losing to the Southwest Sentinels/Void Guard episode by 7 minutes! That said, we cover a TON of stuff in this episode, so let's get right down to it! We start off by going through the meta-verse of the publication company of Sentinel Comics. What led to the Mist Storm Universe? How was it handled and published in the world that Sentinel Comics were real actual comics? Who wrote these books and why? What sorts of decisions were made? We get INTO IT. After revealing all that, including a name of a comics line that we've never said publicly before, we finally get into actually talking about the stories and timelines of the Mist Storm Universe at around 24 minutes in. So! Then! Just after the one hour mark, after talking about the stories from several comics series, we get back into the meta, talking about decisions made by the publisher. That doesn't take too long, and after a bit of banter, we're into the stories of each of the books from those decisions. Then we go BACK to the meta verse around an hour and 14 minutes in. Stuff is happening! Things are falling apart! Why? Well, that's what we're talking about! Listen on, dear friends! From then on, we're jumping back and forth between in-comics stories and meta-publishing-universe stories right up until we get to the stories that end the Mist Storm universe. At around an hour and a half in, we cover one of the big ending stories that we think you'll be excited to hear. Throughout the episode, we keep saying things like, "oh, we'll get to that soon." Well, just after an hour and 41 minutes in, we get to the stories of those characters. Whew! It's a lot of stories about a lot of characters. Around two hours and 23 minutes in, we get into the story of the Prime War limited series. Larger than life stuff, there. Finally, at the two-and-a-half-hours mark, we finally dig into your questions. Though, we do speed through them, as we've already covered a LOT up to this point. We do have a notable future section at 2 hours and 51 minutes in, which covers what titles come out of the Prime War series. More cool stuff there! This episode just keeps giving! Then, just before the end of episode at around 3 hours and 4 minutes, we read all of the Patreon backers at the name-reading levels. Whew! A big finish to a big episode! See you next week for another big episode about a lot of stories: the Multiverse recap episode! |
