01 Jul 2024Let It Be Easy00:45:15

The statistics on burnout in the social impact sector are staggering.  According to a recent study published by the Center for Effective Philanthropy, most funders and 95% of leaders in nonprofit organizations express some level of concern about burnout, with 87% of nonprofit leaders expressing concerns about their own burnout and 75% indicating that burnout among their staff is impacting their organization’s ability to achieve their mission.

And we know that women in social impact, already affected by the gender pay gap, are often further burdened by the lack of of nonprofit organizations or purpose-driven departments to offer equal or competitive pay or benefits, a lack of leadership and professional development, under-resourced teams and organizations, regularly reported feelings of isolation and overwhelm, high emotional investment and demands in this work (especially in roles in direct service), and largely recognized inequalities in the home, with women taking on most household and caregiving responsibilities.

But, despite these very real challenges, what if we could let it be easy?

Listen in.

08 Oct 2024Busyness Induced Amnesia, and How to Overcome It With a Roadmap and Strategic Action00:22:13

Do you suffer from busyness-induced amnesia?  That experience and tendency to forget or overlook essential and foundational practices, habits, and routines, that support your productivity, your wellbeing, and your ability to lead for impact.

It happens when we get caught up in the busyness of daily life or work, neglecting foundational actions like high-level thinking and strategic planning and action, self-care, time management, and intentional reflection.

We're moving through our Q4 checklist with key actions and strategies every week to help you stay on target with your goals, maintain balance, and end the year with clarity and purpose so you are well-resourced to lead for impact.

Last week we revisited our annual goals, and now that you are clear and recommitted to what you're moving towards in Q4, this week, we're breaking down our goals into a roadmap, with milestones and action steps.

Listen in.

15 Oct 2024Finding Freedom to Focus on What Lights You Up Through Strategic Delegation and Automation00:31:50

If you’ve been following along the past few weeks, you’re clear on where you’re going and you’ve got a roadmap and plan in place steering you in the right direction in Q4.

So you know where you’re going, and you know what needs to get done.  In this episode, we explore the critical importance of finding the space to focus on what's most important and what lights you up through strategic delegation and automation.

When you delegate tasks to others or automate repetitive actions, you are

* freeing up your time and mental energy for what truly matters: the big, visionary, human-centered work that only you can do

* creating the space you need to ensure you are filling your cup, continuing to learn,

* preserving your energy so that you can pour it into others in ways that REALLY matter

* bringing others along on a journey that gives them meaningful ways to contribute, work that lights them up, and an opportunity to be a catalyst for advancing the greater good.

This is how we that creates lasting impact and move your mission forward.

You’ve got big ideas, big dreams, big impact to make, my friend.  Don’t try to do it all yourself.

12 Nov 2024Reflect On 2024's Wins and Challenges Through Lens of the Wholistic Time Model00:33:58

This week's Impact Table podcast is an invitation to reflect on this year's wins and challenges.  We look through the lens of the wholistic time model, one that suggests the past, the present and the future all exist here now.  If the future determines the present, and the present determines the past, by reflecting on the past year we codify what our wins and challenges mean in the context of the present and the future.

Prompts you might consider:

  • What projects or goals did you crush?
  • What new opportunities did you embrace?  Professionally and personally?
  • What challenges did you face, and what have you learned or do you need to take away from those challenges?
  • So how will you show up today, so that in the future, you will be proud of the way you’ve navigated in the past?
