28 May 2024 | Learning How To Create Authentic Joy Through Motherhood-Solo Episode Raw & Unedited | 00:33:58
I recently attended a podcasting summit in LA called Her Turn To Podcast lead by the wonderful Cathy Heller. I had gained so many amazing takeaways from this summit and I do talk about some of them here on this episode. This episode looks a little different from some of my other episodes. I created this episode off the cusp and in live-time outside in nature while on a hike, with my two under two and my THREE dogs. Call me crazy (at least I felt like I was crazy at the time) but I’m glad I showed up and did it anyway… the hike and recording the episode. This episode talks about how to create joy for yourself in motherhood. Sometime the focus gets prioritized on the kids and you find yourself asking “what do I even like?” or “what makes me happy?”, In this episode I discuss truly what brings me joy and how to still show up authentically for myself during the early seasons of motherhood. I explained that motherhood is not who I am but a part of me as a person and it is okay to prioritize what lights you up during this season. I started this podcast to bring me joy, to connect in community with other women, and to share their stories of courage, now it is time for me to shed some light on mine in this episode. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed creating it for you. I am proud to show up messy and unedited. There are some parts that are hard to hear but I reiterated those moments in the very long intro…. A few takeaways from this episode:

05 Apr 2024 | Finding Courage Through Grief with Cecilia Mannella | 00:56:14
Cecilia calls herself a recovering perfectionist and overachiever. She found herself checking off all the so called boxes in life and in doing so she fell into the perfectionist trap. Through university, the dream job, Mr. Right, the house with the white picket fence, the travels – you name it, she checked it off. Then, life threw her a curveball and at 36, she found herself widowed. This was not apart of her perfect plan. That's when she learned that perfection is just a load of... well, you know. The promise was that if she did everything right, she would get the prize of a happy life. Turns out, life doesn't play by those rules. Grief taught her the hard way that perfection leads to disconnection – disconnection from herself and others. But here's the juicy part: connection, that messy, beautifully human experience, is the road to fulfillment. She claims that once we're authentically connected to ourselves, we can forge real, genuine connections with others. In this episode we cover: Courage is not linear Choosing to live and to love oneself after grief The gifts that come with grief How grief teaches you to have very clear boundaries How love and grief intertwines How to make space for grief How to support someone that is grieving https://www.ceciliamannella.com/ Instagram: Cecilia Mannella Podcast: Mental Makeover Radio Thank you for joining me and listening to the Kindred Journey Podcast.
