This week I interviewed my 1st Casting Director and I couldn't have been luckier to have chatted with Glenn Daniels.  We reached out to Glenn for 2 of our earliest films, Caddyshack II and Police Academy 6, and I couldn't convince him to say "Yes", but after more emails not giving up, I finally convinced him.  I absolutely LOVED talking to Glenn and how he got started in Hollywood is a wild story. Plus hearing how he got actors like Stanley Tucci, Lisa Kudrow, Teri Hatcher, and Woody Harrelson.  I was also fascinated about how many movies that he has helped cast for that aren't on his IMDb.  We have been lucky enough to interview a lot of awesome people and Glenn is one of my favorites. Last week we discussed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 and this week Doug got the chance to interview a TURTLE!!!!  As a kid Doug loved TMNT, so this was pretty cool for him and Matt Hill was an amazing guy to represent the Turtle Universe. Die Hard 2 is our next film and earlier in the year we were lucky enough to interview the bad guy in movie, William Sadler. We met Corinne Rodriguez Montoya through a mutual friend and found out she was an extra in Die Hard 2, so we scheduled the interview to talk about that, but once the interview began, we knew we were talking to one of the most interesting people we will ever talk to. She has stories involving John Lennon and Michael Jackson, but that is the tip of the iceberg. The 4th Scary Sequel Month is one of the best because it has a Friday the 13th, so we went with Jason Lives. This is the one that brought Jason back and is almost like a Jason spoof with some jokes. We discussed the gravedigger who might live in the woods, the insult farthead, Jason's utility belt, Megan being obsessed with Tommy after meeting him for 5 minutes, and more. This is a fun one.

When it comes to movies you aren't supposed to be rooting for the bad guy, but how could I not root for this week's guest Vernon Wells?  Vernon played legendary bad guys in Mad Max 2 as Wez and in Commando as Bennett. Vernon has quite the origin story because he had ZERO interest in being on camera, he wanted to be behind it. Luckily a director stuck him front and center, the rest is history.  Of course, we talked about Weird Science, Joel Silver, Arnold Schwarzenegger, his start in acting, his love for being behind the camera, and so much more.  We talked about Commando a lot because his role as the villain Bennett is quite legendary to Jamie and me.  Enjoy this amazing chat

Next week's interview is with X2: X-Men United actor Cotter Smith.  Cotter was most recently on the hit Netflix series "Mindhunter" and has been acting over 30 years.  He was a lot of fun and had some amazing stories from his career.

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Friday the 13th A New Beginning” and for it, I interviewed our first final girl from the franchise, Actress Melanie Kinnaman who played "Pam Roberts".  Melanie talked about her journey to being a final girl that started in western Massachusetts with a stop along in NYC where she was a dancer and then started acting in plays.  She even played "Cheryl Ladd" in a Saturday Night Live sketch about the "Battle of the Network Stars" back in the late 70s then landed a role on General Hospital followed by some commercial work.  Melanie talked about getting Friday the 13th A New Beginning, a role she had in "Best of the Best" starring Eric Roberts that got changed, upcoming projects, and lots more.

David has had quite the journey and it began with his dad bringing home old film equipment for him and his twin to mess around with. Our 3rd Annual Scary Sequel Month was such a blast and we are ending it with the perfect Halloween movie, "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers.  This movie sequel had immense pressure of bringing back "The Shape" after the experiment of "Halloween III" has mixed reviews.  Halloween 4 is my favorite sequel in the franchise and Jamie's 1st watch, so we had a blast discussing it.  We talked about coma strength, Michael Myers's love of coveralls, Brady being a dick, Kelly Meeker, the drunk militia, and so much more.

This week we are dipping our toes into the Terminator franchise and starting with the fifth installment, Terminator Genisys. This sequel had us racking our brains over the time traveling and the issues we thought were happening (we aren't time travel experts). We discussed the weird obsession with the Genisys operating system, the amazing SFX, the T-800 applying for jobs, the civilian casualties, not enough JK Simmons, and more.

The next sequel discussed is "Mortal Kombat Annihilation", which is on the Mount Rushmore of sequels that went wrong, but I bet we will find a lot that went right. This movie had a former guest Brian Thompson and next week's guest Marjean Holden. Marjean plays Sheeva in the film and discusses the lengthy audition process and why her fight scene got cut. We talked about her journey from being a P.A. on a movie while going to Arizona State to being in movies in less than a year, how she became a stuntwoman, her new passion to direct, modeling, and more. So here is our second interview from the last sequel we discussed, which was Home Alone 3, Actor Kevin Kilner.  You might know him by name, but I bet you would know him if you saw him.  Maybe you remember him from the CBS series "Almost Perfect" co-starring Nancy Travis, or maybe from the classic Frasier episode "Roz and the Schnozz", but I promise you know him from American Pie 2 as the dad who took the walkie talkies.  He was great and had some stories that were so awesome that my jaw was on the ground(in a good way).

The next sequel has us finally doing the boxing sequel we always wanted to do (sorry Teen Wolf Too), well maybe not exactly the sequel in the franchise we REALLY wanted.  I am talking about Rocky V, you know the one where Rocky loses all his money because he had a crooked accountant and his voice reverts to Rocky 2.  I guess money equals better speech. For this, I got to interview Cinematographer Steven Poster.  Throughout his career, Steven worked as a cinematographer and camera operator which had him working on everything from Strange Brew to Blade Runner to Big Top Pee-Wee to Rocky V to Baseketball to Donnie Darko to even Maddona’s "Like a Prayer" video.  Great chat.

This week's sequel has us traveling to a dystopian future where a young Mel Gibson (Mad Max) will do just about anything for gasoline. This movie has an all-star cast with Mel Gibson and Vernon Wells.  We, of course, talked about Jason Voorhees sorry I mean Lord Humongous, Feral Kid (What the hell was he), us both falling head over heels for Warrior Woman, how insane Vernon Wells is in this movie, and lots more.  Mad Max 2 was our highest Rotten Tomatoes score yet at 93%.

This week we are talking "The Purge Anarchy" which was a movie sequel that we didn't expect (because for some reason we that it was over-the-top gorey).   This movie had some dreaming of more Frank Grillo-led action flicks because if he was around in the 80s/90s at this age, he would've led so many action flicks.  The Purge Anarchy had us discussing the odd rules of the purge, how you find your purge posse, who cleans the dead bodies, better ways to hide in your home, and lots more.

The next sequel that will be discussed is The Return of the Killer Tomatoes. This movie had me interviewing the cinematographer from it Stephen Andrich who had some fond memories of working on this one with George Clooney.  Then Stephen's career changed gears and he worked for NFL Films and actually lived in New Jersey when he did.  Stephen's recent camera credits include Cobra Kai, The Walking Dead, Leverage, and more.  I loved the origin story of his start in working for the NFL, one of those right-place-right-time stories for sure.

Today we have a bonus episode for you.  So when we started this adventure into reviewing and interviews folks involved with movie sequels, we had a side agenda of interview everyone who is involved in various roles behind the scenes as well and here is our first one.  We were looking for an interview with an actor involved in Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 and started going back in forth with the agent for  R. A. Mihailoff who played Leatherface.  That agent was Judy Fox and she was so kind in communicating with us to find the time that worked, so we asked her,"Can we interview you about your career?" and she agreed.  Judy didn't start in Hollywood like others and she is the Personal Talent Manager to horror legends plus she's a movie producer too.

This sequel is no kiddie film and is one of the worst sequels yet! I watched this as a kid and had fond memories of it that were squashed once I hit play. We had back guest Tom Kiczula (Jason Takes Manhattan and Superbabies 2) to help decipher this movie that Jamie called, "Worse than Munchie." The 1st sequel to kick off our 3rd annual "Scary Sequel Month" is "Hellraiser V: Inferno" and this bonus interview is with Actress, Model, and Real Estate entrepreneur Rachel Currence. Rachel had a small role in Hellraiser V, but was also in a bunch as a child actor and in the last few years was in BET's "The New Edition Story". This week we are discussing "Iron Eagle IV", which marks the return to the franchise of the character "Doug Masters" who seemed to be dead after the opening scene from "Iron Eagle II".   Also, the legendary Lou Gossett Jr. is back as "Chappy" for the 4th time and he does not disappoint. This is a sequel like any other because it is essentially two movies, the first part seems like a kid's movie, and the second part is filled with murder. We discussed the troubled teens that are somehow allowed to fly planes without supervision, the most powerful grenade ever,  Luther the drug dealer, Chappy and a possible "Fight Club" scenario, and lots more. The movie is WILD, but lots of fun.

The next sequel we are reviewing is “Robocop 3"  and I got to interview the wonderful and funny actress Jodi Long.  This interview is one of the earlier ones we did and I thought I lost it but found it a few months back.  . I always loved her scene-stealing role in “The Hot Chick” along with "Sullivan and Son" and so many great roles over the years.  Jodi recently won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program for her role on Netflix’s "Dash & Lilly".  I remember being so nervous chatting with her because it was a very early interview, but the interview was great hearing about her show biz parents, her appearance on broadway at 7, Asian representation in Hollywood, and so much more.

Next week's sequel is "Superman II" and this week we are talking with actor, boxer, and writer Jack O'Halloran. I knew Jack from his movies; Superman 1 & 2, King Kong, Hero and the Terror, and more, but I didn't know he was a boxer until I did my pre-interview research.  Jack's boxing stories blew my mind and even non-boxing fans will know the names of George Foreman and Muhammad Ali.  Jack has a book he wrote called "Family Legacy" and it's a great read, plus after hearing a few of his stories you'll want to scoop it up. This week we are talking about "Exorcist II" which is known to be one of the worst sequels of all time by movie lovers and they are right!  This movie marks the 2nd sequel we covered of Oscar-winner, the late-great Louise Fletcher which didn't end up too well, the other being Grizzly II.  This movie was so bad that we brought in a friend of the podcast Peter, who has a podcast called Fan2Fan (which we guested on earlier in the year and talked sequels).  Peter helped us discuss why crutches are good for putting out fires, James Earl Jones dressed like a locust, a very awkward scene, the odd extras playing in the background of scenes, and lots more.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Cinematographer Charles Papert who worked as a Steadicam operator on "Major League: Back to the Minors" and it was his 1st big studio movie.  Once Charles had his mind on a career in film, he was determined and you will hear a story that shows that.  Charles was a Steadicam operator on "American History X", "Office Space", and more.  Then he went on to be the Cinematographer on "Scrubs", "Key & Peele", "Kenan", and lots more.  Great chat that includes my dad's favorite song Foreigner's "Urgent".

Playball!  Baseball is back and to celebrate, we are discussing "Major League Back to the Minors".  This movie turns the reigns of the franchise over to Scott Bakula, who is aging minor league pitcher Gus Cantrell.  This sequel had a lot for us to discuss like the switch from the Indians to the Twins, Ted McGinley's insane portrayal of "Huff", the confusion that a AAA team is signing aging veterans off the street (and from his mini-golf course), why tennis comedies wouldn't work, the lack of players with names, and more. Scott Bakula and Ted McGinley have such a rivalry in this movie kinda like Jamie and me while discussing this one.

The next sequel that will be discussed next is "The Predator".  For this sequel, I interviewed actor and voice actor Garry Chalk.  Garry is someone who I KNOW you have heard over the years or have seen because he has over 400 credits.  Garry's acting career took off after his role of "Scorby" in "The Fly II" and from there he went on to be in Freddy vs Jason, Superbabies: Baby Geniuses II, The Sea Wolf w/ Charles Bronson, and lots more.  Plus he's lent his voice to The New Adventures of He-Man, Reboot, Sonic the Hedgehog, Megaman, and a ton more.  Great chat about his career and so many great memories that he shared with me.

Stuart Pankin is an actor who grew up in Philadelphia and went on to be in all your favorite tv and movies growing up like The Dirt Bike Kid, Mannequin 2 (which we are covering), Arachnophobia, Not Necessarily the News, Knots Landing, the voice of Earl Sinclair on The Dinosaurs, and more.  Stuart was a hoot and loved talking about how his journey to Hollywood began.

Peter Jason is an actor who has worked with everyone from John Wayne to Spielberg to Donald Pleasance to James Garner and he loves talking about the old Hollywood.  If it wasn't for a girl he had a crush on senior year, he would have never tried out for the school play and it was instant love.  Peter's credits include They Live, Gunsmoke, Deadwood, Arachnophobia, Escape from LA(which we are covering), Baskets, and more.   Peter and Stuart became dear friends on the set of Arachnophobia and have been buddies ever since.

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Robocop 3" and this week we are talking with Actress Jodi Long.  This interview is one of the earlier ones we did and I thought I lost it but found it a few months back.  Jodi actually knew Peter Weller from growing up and performing in NYC and has a funny story about that. I always loved her scene-stealing role in “The Hot Chick” along with Sullivan and Son and so many great roles over the years.  Jodi recently won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program for her role on Netflix’s Dash & Lily.  I remember being so nervous chatting with her because it was one of the first interviews I did, but the interview was great hearing about her show biz parents, her appearance on Broadway at the age of 7, Asian representation in Hollywood, and so much more.  Amazing chat with an amazing woman.

This is a movie that was super depressing with no lovable characters and lacked of knowledge of football. This movie had a high school bully who was the bookie, the creepy school shrink, the rag-tag group of football players, and a ton more. Enjoy the big game!

Mark has no relation to my co-host Jamie Riccardi but I do have a geographic connection with Mark because we grew up in the same town. Mark talked about his journey from South Plainfield, New Jersey to Hollywood that included playing semi-pro quarterback in Florida, doubling John Travolta, some epic stories from the set of "Broken Arrow", the changes Mark has seen in the stunt world since his beginnings to now, and lots more. It was great talking with someone who made it in show biz that grew up in the same town as me.

The next sequel discussed is "Terminator Genisys", which is has a pretty solid cast and it's film I have never seen which is always fun. For it, I talked with Griff Furst who plays Agent Burke, but when Griff isn’t acting, he’s directing, producing, and writing. Griff has directed a lot of sci fi movies like Lake Placid 3 and Swamp Shark.  He has a great story about DB Sweeney and Wade Boggs you are gonna love.  He recently produced Devil’s Peak starring Robin Wright, Billy Bob Thornton, and Jackie Earle Haley.  We talked about growing up with a big time Hollywood dad, Stephen Furst “Flounder” in Animal House, hanging out on the set of St. Elsewhere and Dream Team, and how to actually get a movie made.  Great chat.

The next sequel is "Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest"; I chatted with an actor I have loved over the years, Lee Arenberg and he did not disappoint. Lee talked about his early days and starting a theater group with Tim Robbins, his early credits include Night Court, Perfect Strangers, and Seinfeld. Then we discussed landing the role in Pirates of the Caribbean as Pintel. It was an awesome chat; we even talked a little football because Lee is a lifelong Raiders fan.
