It's happened! Sony have finally, finally confirmed the existence of PlayStation Spartacus and have renamed it PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium. Each offering differing options, the brand new service lands in June and Rossko, Kat and Miles just had to get on the a pod to talk about it (and so we weren't a week late to the news, and stuff...y'kno).

So join us as we get giddy at the possibilities of what could be added to this service from PlayStation's long, long history, and marvel at the very thought of Trophies being added to classic PlayStation games. Can Miles ever get a Platinum for Metal Gear Solid 1? Only time will tell.

In the news we talk the cost for publishers to put their games on Xbox Game Pass, if it’s really worth it for them to line themselves with the endless Microsoft money when the sales dry up a little, if publishers are really getting their moneys worth with what Microsoft offer them and if we could ever see Sony competing with the kind of money Microsoft splash around for games to be on the service. Do they even stand a chance? We discuss.

Elsewhere we talk the delay of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to 2023 and how all but one of us aren’t really that bothered. Why aren’t we hyped about a new Rocksteady game in the Arkham universe? Something feels just a little off with it and we can’t quite put our finger on it. We also get rather hyped that this might just mean Hogwarts Legacy hits its planned 2022 release date. Maybe. Fingers crossed.

Our main topic of the week is all about us, though. Sorry about that. We talk writing reviews, playing games we want to play versus the games we *have* to play, whether we can find that balance and not get ourselves burned out by even trying and where the balance leaves us even enjoying the games, even when they are ‘work’. It’s a deep discussion where we’re fairly frank with our answers and well worth a listen.

Now then, we don't normally share our outtakes because well, they're outtakes for a reason, but this was a funny one. Whilst we were preparing for the quiz in this weeks (28/3) podcast, it took an abnormally long time to get everyone ready as we all forgot we needed a buzzer for the quiz. Bizarrely, the entire pod squad were together for the first time and none of us remembered that's how we do things.

Well, Rossko cut it out of the edit because well why would you keep it in? It's just nonsense. But what it is, is funny nonsense so here, have a listen to six grown-ass human adults trying to find buzzers and the absolute carnage that ensued.

Wait a minute no, ignore that. Hello! Welcome to episode 149 of The Finger Guns Podcast where Rossko, Kat and Miles get together to talk the weeks news, whilst primarily all being very excited for this weeks release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Rossko has been lucky enough to have been playing it all weekend so he shares his thoughts on the game - with a full review you can read on our website - along with Miles discussing his time with Weird West and Kat rolling the dice in Lost in Random.

The guys also talk the full cancellation of E3, whether or not Sony will soon announce more acquisitions and if and when they've cracked PS3 emulation on PS5, are we ever going to see it? There's plenty of games we'd love to play again from that era, so time will tell on this one.

Elsewhere there's a food-related games quiz (purely because Kat was hungry whilst making it), we talk about Star Wars far too much, Kat recommends a new fizzy drink after dismissing one last week, Miles has finally found Archer and sings its praises and Rossko gets all hype about his Sunday night seeing Sonic The Hedgehog 2. It's quite the love-in.

Well, we've made it. On this landmark 150th episode of The Finger Guns Podcast, Rossko, Greg, Miles and Kat are joined by After Life and Bad Education star (also massive gamer) Ethan Lawrence and the almighty Chris Scullion, writer of the NES, SNES, Mega Drive and the upcoming N64 Encyclopedias, Official Nintendo Magazine legend and all round nice to celebrate this enormous milestone. This week on The Finger Guns Podcast we're back to business with Rossko, Kat and Miles talking through the weeks news including Lorne Lanning getting all pent up about the lack of sales for PlayStation Plus' Oddworld Soulstorm. He blames the subscription service for the lack of genuine sales for the game, but was it really going to hit those numbers without it? We discuss. We also chat CD Projekt Red and their latest misstep with once again delaying their Witcher 3 next-gen upgrade and blaming other developers for the delay. Are they ever going to regain their power over fans in the industry again? Also, there's rumours abound that Portal 3 may just be a thing someday and well, we gush about just how much we'd love that happen. And then there's Hello Games who have come out this week to say they're working on yet another 'impossibly ambitious' game to follow No Man's Sky. We absolutely believe them, but should they be raising hopes already? This one is years off, are we having another Sean Murray media hype storm incoming?

Elsewhere Miles talks jumping back into Back4Blood to check out their new DLC, Kat talks chilling out in the wonderment of Lake on PS5 and Rossko has discovered Apple Arcade, his thoughts are a little worrying. He also gets into his time with the cracking old-school racer, Slipstream.

We're back! After a week-long hiatus (because life very much got in the way) The Finger Guns Podcast triumphantly returns, with Rossko and Greg double-teaming this weeks news to attempt to try and make sense of it all. Fortunately for Greg, our news rundown was very much focused on his particular interests, with a Death Stranding sequel being seemingly spoiled by Norman Reedus himself and Kojima's reaction, Trophies confirmed to be coming to certain classic PS1 titles as part of PlayStation's brand new Plus tier service, The Witcher 3 getting its shiny next-gen upgrade seemingly this year and some possible Final Fantasy VII news arriving next month. He got himself a chance to actually talk without shrugging and saying 'no', which is a delight (nothing to do with the fact that he was the literal only person that could make it on this week).

There's no quiz, but there's a fun recommendations section where we once again rip into Star Wars, because why the hell not, eh? There's nothing else to talk about at the moment.

Ok, not really, but we certainly pick our highlights from what we've seen from the shows, along with a further breakdown of the Xbox Showcase, now with 100% more Rossko along with Miles and Kat, seemingly a little annoyed she's no longer the host of the podcast. We even fit in a quiz and a game of the week segment where Rossko waxes lyrical about the musical hell shooter Metal: Hellsinger, Miles talks getting into Horizon Forbidden West and Kat deep dives into her disappointment with Jumanji....don't mess with Kat and Jumanji. On the 160th episode of The Finger Guns Podcast, Rossko, Miles and Kat are once again back together to talk the weeks gaming news and also get into some deep philosophical questions such as, well, what's the point in video games? We debate this massive question and come up with, frankly, a very simple answer. Elsewhere we review the new PlayStation Plus tiers and give our honest opinions on which one you should go for and we get very excited about A Plague Tale: Requiem's recent gameplay showcase and release date.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Kat and Miles are joined once again by our very good friend Ethan Lawrence to discuss the weeks news, take on a brand new quiz and get particularly ranty about a company that rhymes with Bereckonic Darts...any guesses?

We get into the absence of any concrete Nintendo news throughout the year, where they currently stand in the gaming space and if we're excited about their future output that we currently know about. There's a weird void hanging over Nintendo right now and we hope they can fill it with news for their fanbase soon enough. Elsewhere we remind the gaming populist not to send pictures of their dicks to female game developers just because they haven't got a release date yet for their little video game they're excited about, I mean for f*** sake guys. Also, Ethan gets his own segment going after EA for their horribly misjudged tweet this week and we take on Kat's brand new musical 'Heardle'-esque quiz with some truly brutal results for our host. Yes, you'll definitely do better than him this week.

There's also a brand new segment called 'In Defense Of...' where we each have a minute to talk about a game that we think is hugely underrated and do our best to encourage each other to play it. This one definitely doesn't go off the rails at all. Nope. Not this one.

We also talk hands-on with that glorious indie puzzler Hue, Miles gets into a bit more Spellforce, Ethan shares his love for a brand new Early Access title on Steam called Vampire Survivors and Rossko has all but given up on Demon's Souls after what could be argued as a 'valiant effort'. Maybe.

Oh, and we call time on the podcast as a whole (not really) and birth a brand new one, but you'll have to listen to find out what we're up to next. Seriously, we could give you a million guesses and you'd never work it out..

This week on the pod Rossko, Kat, Miles, Tom and Greg get together to talk what's available in a fairly barren week of news. First up we discuss the re-reveal of Skull and Bones and its bonkers release date (the day before Ragnarok?!), if we have any level of hype for the game and what we're looking forward to, if anything, from Ubisoft's long-gestating pirate adventure.

We also talk our highlights from the Nacon Connect show, with a fair few games looking pretty damn exciting from one of the more prominent AA studios around at the moment. There's a lot to look forward to.

Elsewhere Rockstar have been sharing news that they're starting to ramp up production on GTA 6 with the news that Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV remasters were planned before decided to be canned in order to focus on GTA 6. Would we have liked to have seen them see the light of day or has the Definitive Edition Trilogy put to bed any interest in shiny Rockstar remasters?

In our Game of the Week Greg talks about jumping into Disco Elysium again, Tom has hit a bit of a gaming wall (happens to the best of us), Miles finally talks about his time with horror adventure MADISON, Kat finally experiences the wonderment of Tetris Effect and Rossko is exploring Hope County again in Far Cry 5 whilst jumping into the frenetic madness of Arcadegeddon.

We've also got another game music quiz (this time remastered and professionally done and stuff), we briefly get into Kojima being mistaken for an actual assassin, Greg shares his festival fuelled weekend, Kat and Miles are getting ready for a graduation and Rossko, well, Rossko is editing podcasts and going to work. Such is life.

They said it couldn't be done. We thought it would never happen. Hell, we thought they were kidding. No, we really did. But here we are. Our own Miles Thompson and his literal celebrity co-host Ethan Lawrence have actually found time in their very busy schedules to talk for nearly two and a half hours all about Koei Tecmo's gloriously over-the-top hack and slash series Dynasty Warriors.

Essentially, everything you need to know about the series is included here, along with a whole lot of discussion about things that aren't all related to the series but is kept into the final cut because well, why not, something had to pad this one out.

For the hardcore, Miles and Ethan get into extreme detail about the game, the novels, their legacy and their importance to gaming as a whole. Also, Ethan is topless the entire time. Of course, this is an audio medium so you won't see such things, but you're made aware fairly on. Keep that in mind as you listen, it makes it all far more sexy. Sexier than you could ever imagine two guys talk about Dynasty Warriors for nearly 150 minutes. It's quite something.

This week we talk Ubisoft's rather terrible no good very bad year continues to be an absolute shit-show with a bunch of delays and cancellations leaving their release slate fairly barren for the upcoming release windows, whether or not we're ok with the full roster of MultiVersus characters costing £200 at launch(!), Naughty Dog jumping through their own hoops to release a 10-minute gameplay video for The Last of Us Part I to get a hold of the leaks that have got out there and whether or not we're still debating whether or not £70 is a justifiable price point for a near ten year old game re-release and of course with Aloy's motion capture artists returning to the studios is their Horizon Forbidden West DLC on the way? We discuss.

Elsewhere we talk the games we've been playing (alongside Stray - which gets its own section and you may be surprised to hear what we actually think of it) such as Miles's time with Toy Soldiers HD and Rossko getting back into Animal Crossing: New Horizons and having an absolute blast with Hypercharge Unboxed (which he calls Hypercharge Unlocked on the podcast because he's an idiot).

There's also some major recommendations and Kat returns with a 'siblings in games' quiz which will test your metal. Maybe.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko returns along with the also returning Kat to talk all the weeks gaming news with Miles, Tom and Josh. What gaming news? Well, there isn't a huge amount of 'news' per se but there are a few interesting tidbits that we wanted to get into including Microsoft accusing Sony of 'blocking' games from launching on Xbox Game Pass due to some under the table dealings. Well, it's probably not that excessing but we break down what this headline really means and what it could actually be referring to in the greater gaming landscape. Should we know this is happening? Probably not, are we gonna talk the hell out of it anyway? We sure are. That's what we're here for.

Elsewhere after Hogwarts Legacy and Marvel's Midnight Suns both got hefty delays this week we ask if delays really matter anymore if they're just a ploy to keep the hype train moving along or genuine ways to ensure developers don't get overworked in the lead up to release. Is a rushed game always bad? Yes it is, and we try to focus on the positives as we see two more games slip into next year. Don't worry, we find plenty. Kinda.

Game of the Week showcases the likes of Two Point Campus, Devolver's latest indie darling Cult of the Lamb, spooky rogue-lite Saturnalia, the glorious Voyage and the fantastic laundy/arcade management sim Arcade Paradise.

THQ's rather good Showcase is also examined as we choose our favourite game reveals from the event and what we could get excited about seeing at the newly announced 'Disney / Marvel Games Showcase' this September.

The quiz also makes its triumphant return, Kat says fancy words like 'block' and Tom's life is changed forever when he discovered the existence of Squirrel With A Gun.

This week on the 170th episode of The Finger Guns Podcast Kat takes the reigns with Miles, Sean, Tom and Josh joining your host to talk through the games news including these rather suspiciously exciting Silent Hill 2 image leaks. The team are split on whether or not they're real but we're rather looking forward to see where this goes as Konami has begun to get a little bit louder about what's to come from them.

We also get into The Last of Us Part 1 with some players receiving their fairly expensive Firefly Edition in poor conditions, with Sony not going to refund the damaged goods. Tsk. We also get into our thoughts on the remake. This week on The Finger Guns Podcast, Kat, Miles, Sean and Josh get into the weeks news, which is basically just jumping into the primary showcases that hit the last few days.

First up we get into the first ever Disney / Marvel games showcase as part of the D23 Expo, and each pod host shares what they're excited for from the show, which is certainly a mixed bag. Sean loved it though, naturally.

Talking of Sean loving games we then get into the Ubisoft Forward and talk everything you need to know about the future of Assassin's Creed. Ubisoft are going all out with the franchise and it's super exciting to see what's to come. Sean deep dives into why with a few theories and some hype for the future of the franchise. We also talk about the rest of Ubisoft Forward but let's be honest, it was all building towards Assassin's Creed and everything else was...well.

Anyway! Elsewhere Kat is very excited about Tomb Raider going home to Eidos and Crystal Dynamics and all is well.

And in Game of the Week Josh spent the week on the basketball court with NBA 2K23, Sean is back on his FMV trip in the wild and wonderful The Gallery, Miles has been working his way through Steelrising and Kat has been spying on the general populous in City Eye.

It's another Reaction Special and my word, we've only got two showcases to cover in one! First up we talk our highlights of the *very long* Nintendo Direct and what we're looking forward to getting our hands on, we talk the aftermath of the GoldenEye announcement and how it doesn't sound quite as exciting as first appeared along with whether or not there were enough JRPG farming sims coming to the Switch.

We then do a swift deep dive into the PlayStation State of Play where we found something for everyone, including a Tekken 8 announcement and that rather glorious trailer for Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja's Rise of the Ronin. Oh and that God of War Ragnarok game that people seem to be excited for? Yeah, we talk about that too.

This week on a packed Finger Guns Podcast Rossko sits himself back in the hosting seat with Sean, Greg, Kat, Miles and Josh to talk about the weeks news and what on earth could we talk about. Well, there was a certain thing about Grand Theft Auto 6 that happened.

Yes, GTA 6 leaked across the internet this week and we have some thoughts. A lot of them not good. We try to dissect the timeline of this madness and work out where Rockstar Games go from here in dealing with this. It may not have huge implications after all, but it's not all that great, eh? We talk it out and see if the hype remains (spoiler; it does).

We also get into the PSVR 2 news and after a week of previews and reveals, the news that the new headset will be incompatible with PSVR 1 games. We're all a bit gutted about it and we discuss whether or not this impacts our excitement for the headset. Also, are Sony planning an external disc drive for future PS5 models? The smallest of rumours have landed and we talk the possibilities and how it would actually be a good thing. Maybe? We'll see.

In Game of the Week Rossko (and Kat, still blowing Rossko's mind to this day) talk the brand new Chromey season of Fortnite, Miles talks Sunday Gold, Kat finally gets to share her thoughts on Little Orpheus, Greg jumps back into Cyberpunk 2077, Josh has played a whole lot of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Sean finally gets his hands on his hugely anticipated Return to Monkey Island. There were tears shed..

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast it's a proper OG cast as Rossko, Sean, Greg and Toby get together to talk all about EGX 2022. Granted, only Sean and Greg went this year but they have a whale of time talking to Rossko and Toby about their time at the event, what they played, who they shmoozed and what they thought of the event overall, whilst namechecking some indie highlights such as Robobeat, How To Say Goodbye, To Hell With That Guy, Trinity Fusion and Soulbound.

Rossko of course asks about Sonic Frontiers and gets perhaps the shock of his life when Sean and Greg both agree that there may just be something there that's worth getting excited about this time...maybe. Greg and Sean also sing the praises of Street Fighter 6 after having several bouts on the upcoming fighter.

Elsewhere we quickly get into the weeks biggest news with Cyberpunk suddenly doing massive numbers, Splinter Cell's remake getting 'modernised', a big update on the Rockstar Games hack and our thoughts on the first full trailer for HBO's TV adaptation of The Last of Us. It's divided the camp, that's for sure.

We of course also have our game recommendations, Game of the Week includes No Place for Bravery, Diofield Chronicle, Family Man on Switch and QUBE's 10th anniversary and everything notable that's due for release this week. It's a big one.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Kat, Miles and Sean get together to talk the weeks big news and basically there's only one place to start and that's the inevitable death of Google Stadia. After the announcement this week that Google will be pulling the online-only service in January of next year, we talk what went wrong, what Google didn't do well (and also what they did), what they could have done to save the service and, most crucially, how the developers had no idea this was happening until Google announced it. It's an entire cluster of bad times all round, and we break it down for you as best we can.

Elsewhere we talk the fallout of leadership heads at Disco Elysium studio ZA/UM which lead to them 'involuntarily' leaving the company, leaving the sequel without its original creators. Where does this leave the new game? Are fans going to be as excited without their voices attached?

As we were recording there was also some breaking news regarding a remake of Horizon Zero Dawn, which may be arriving on PS5 in the near future. There's nothing confirmed yet, but it looks like this rumour is building up steam amongst the press who have corroborated the information. We shall see what happens. Also, the Horizon board game is apparently really difficult.

Finally we each discuss what we're looking forward to playing before the years end, there's still plenty of gaming to be had even if Miles is still refusing to play Gotham Knights. You know he will. We all know he will.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast it's our 175th episode! To celebrate this major milestone we, er, well there's only three of us but what a trio! Rossko, Kat and Miles get together to talk the weeks news and where better place to start than with the clues pointing to a brand new Crash Bandicoot game being revealed at The Game Awards this year? Rumours are rife with speculation that we may see Crash's long awaited game Wumpa League at Geoff Keighley's annual game trailer expose, so be on the look out for that. Is Kat hyped? Elsewhere the biggest news of the week without a doubt was the reveal of the first footage from The Super Mario Bros. Movie from Nintendo and Minion's creators Illumination. The discord around this game has been rather insane so we try to collate it all and share our own opinions on what the trailer showcases and if we're excited to see the rest of the film. Oh, and if Chris Pratt is the right voice for Mario. Will this continue long into the wee hours? You better believe it, Rossko might bitch about this until the sun scorches the entire planet so buckle up.

Ahead of a possible full podcast on the subject we also get into the affects of gaming on our mental health, as each member of the team share their experiences with games and how they've helped them get through some hard times and some of the stigma that still surrounds gaming as a whole. 'Never feel stupid for finding comfort in a video game'.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Kat, Miles and the returning Josh talk all the weeks biggest news and get a bit excited about the weeks releases. Taylor Swift has an album coming out this week you know, we may have mentioned it a few times. We may spend the entire pod trying to get into the presale for tickets. Maybe. Definitely.

In other news we talk the fallout of the reveal that Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor was only offered $4,000 to reprise her iconic role in Bayonetta 3, sending ripples across the industry on fair wages for voice actors. Platinum Games didn't take it all that well, and there's seemingly far more to come from this story. We chat about what's fair and how we're going to, regretfully, skip the game because of this.

Elsewhere we're still talking about the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard with new information coming to light regarding Sony's part in all of this. Sony have kicked off saying they're worried Xbox will monopolise Call of Duty and secure exclusives for their players, meaning players will leave PlayStation to access them. Now, where have we heard that before? It's a very strange story that's going on and on and on, and well there's very little else to add apart from we're kinda hoping it's going to be over and done with soon.

A huge release this week sees A Plague Tale Requiem finally come to consoles and PC and our own Toby was lucky enough to review the game. Rossko chats with him to discuss (as spoiler-free as possible) the game and his thoughts on it, and whether it not it lives up to the superb original (Find it at 01:25:00)

To celebrate Kat has devised a quiz all about A Plague Tale and we all get a bit giddy and hype about its release (which is right now, it's available now. GO!).

BOO! Ha! GOT YA!

Sorry, we didn't mean to frighten you here at The Finger Guns Podcast but it's our Halloween episode so here comes the frights! Kind of. Not really. This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Kat, Miles, Josh and the returning Tom Woods talk everything about the weeks big reveals from the Silent Hill and Resident Evil Showcases, with five new Silent Hill projects to chew on and some scarily good looking trailers for Resident Evil 4 and the Winters Expansion for Resident Evil Village. This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Miles, Kat and Josh talk the weeks news with Hideo Kojima starting the hype train for this new project by stating it's a 'whole new medium'...um, whatever that could possibly mean. We try and decipher what on earth he's up to and see if it's at all related to his rumoured horror game 'Overdose' or if he's taking Death Stranding 2 in a wild new direction.

Elsewhere we talk yet again about the stigma of being called a 'gamer'. After a research study was revealed claiming that those who identify as 'gamers' are more likely to be racist and sexist, we try to break down what studies like this really mean and if we can at all stomach the phrase gamer at all and what it really means to the general populous. Are we all tarred with the same brush? And why is it exclusively video games that seems to be the punch bag for this? We discuss.

Then with the news that Naughty Dog themselves are working with a brand new Sony studio to create a new entry in a 'beloved franchise', we have some fun trying to guess what on earth it could be. Will it be a new entry in a Naughty Dog franchise or has Sony thrown them something from their esteemed back catalogue we haven't seen for a while? Time will tell, but boy it's fun to speculate.

Game of the Week of course returns with Kat talking Broken Pieces, Miles finally getting to talk about possibly his game of the year, Saturnalia, Josh talks the last few hours of Fortnite's halloween content Fortnitemares and Rossko finally jumps into retro compilation Sonic Origins.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast we're all getting rather excited about the weeks big releases, namely God of War Ragnarok and Sonic Frontiers. Has Rossko caved and already brought Sonic? At the time of recording, no, but hey, there's still one hour to go before midnight.

Instead we decided to get together and talk the weeks news, and there isn't an awful lot to get into but we did indeed talk all about PlayStation VR 2, now that it's been dated and priced and we share our thoughts on whether or not we're going to jump into brave new virtual worlds on day one. It's a tad expensive one would argue, but in comparison to other VR headsets of this quality, is it justified? Sean being the man of reason helps us out with this one and we're eternally grateful.

Elsewhere in a follow-up to last weeks main discussion, Hideo Kojima's horror game OVERDOSE may or may not have been leaked on the YouTubes by a shirtless man. There's a whole lot of conspiracy with this one and we're fairly excited to see what ol' Kojima-san has up his sleeve this time around. Also, the shirtless man is totally Geoff Keighley.

We're also all in on Game of the Week. Rossko has lost himself to the PlayStation Starts rewards service for pointless collectibles, Miles has played a terrible castle simulator, Kat has once again played a cosy life sim on the Switch and Josh has spent the week playing one of Sean's favourites of the year, Kovox Pitch whilst Sean shares his impressions of The Chant with the group.

There's also a brand new audio quiz from Kat - with all the drama you expect from a Kat quiz - Rossko gets very excited about Sonic Frontiers reviews, Miles shares his opinions on Terrifier 2 and Sean's cat makes a couple of cameos. There's a whole lot going on in this ep, which is wild considering we only came up with two news stories to talk about.

This week on a bumper Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Miles, Josh and a very late Kat (seriously, at the gym trying to better herself instead of talking games? Pfft) get together to talk all the weeks news and well, there's a whole lot of game nominations we need to get through.

Oh yes, it's that time of year again where we tear through the entire list of The Game Awards nominations and see if we can pick who is going to take home the gold. Through every category - almost - we still don't know what an e-sports is - we get into arguments over who deserves to take home Geoff Keighley's pointless trophies that pad out his trailer showcase and well, let's just say it gets fairly heated this year. Kat comes back from the gym and is taking no prisoners. Giant crumpet.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Miles and Josh are back together once again to get through the weeks news and well, there isn't a whole lot of it so we talk about Call of Duty instead.

Well, as we keep up with the Golden Joystick award winners announcements throughout the podcast (Elden Ring for best multiplayer? Eh?), the gang discuss the ridiculous success of Warzone 2.0 and what it could mean for the future of the Royale, our own opinions on the game itself after jumping in together this week and more talk about the ongoing Microsoft / Activision acquisition saga. They offered ten years to PlayStation for CoD, would they accept? Well, we have no idea. But we speculate either way what it could mean for both companies.

Elsewhere it's been two years since the release of the Xbox Series duo and the PS5, so we give the systems a thorough going over about where they stand and what we've enjoyed and not enjoyed about them so far. With Xbox throwing their money around - with seemingly very little return just yet - and Sony banging out AAA after AAA, the two companies have gone down very different paths in the hope to grab your attention this time around. We discuss whether or not we see a future in either method and when we can expect Xbox to actually start living up to the cheques they're writing developers. Starfield has a hell of a lot on its shoulders.

There's also of course Game of the Week where Miles talks the brilliant Evil West, Josh gets hyped for Ship of Fools and Rossko digs into his backlog to get a little further in Horizon Forbidden West and talks the brilliant Once Upon a Jester, which you can pick up on Steam right now.

Josh also turns up with a Game Awards themed quiz which you won't want to miss and there's the latest on Miles' Saturnalia/Only Fans venture. It's quite the episode.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Miles, Josh and Kat get to grips with the weeks news of which there...well, there isn't an awful lot but boy, is this not an entertaining lark of a podcast anyway.

We get into the announcement of Starship Troopers: Extermination, a brand new 12 player co-op shooter adventure that takes us very much into the heart of the movie. We're all rather excited for this (well, except for Kat..).

Splinter Cell returns! Kinda. Not really. In a BBC Radio 4 audio drama? Bet you didn't have that on your 2022 bingo card, did you? The franchise returns once again without returning and we're all a little befuddled as to why Ubisoft aren't just making a brand new game in the series instead of milking Sam Fischer for all he's worth everywhere else.

We also talk Netflix's announcement that they're taking on development of a 'AAA' title. We don't know much else, other than it may be a shooter and it may be connected to one of their IP's. Are we about to see a major Stranger Things game on the horizon? What about Squid Game? Mindhunter ?That Witcher series they made would be a fun video game, don't you think?

Elsewhere, Miles and Kat share the love for God of War Ragnarok, Rossko has finally finished Horizon Forbidden West and Josh talks the almighty Goat SImulator 3 with huge praise. There's also a God of War themed quiz and some glorious recommendations to get your teeth into this week. Though oddly none of them are food this time...

Oh, and we follow the trails and tribulations of Kat buying a sexy gaming laptop throughout the podcast. It's a fascinating ride and one you'll want to follow until the very end. It's incredible.

On our final podcast of the year we've managed to assemble our biggest cast so far with an almighty SEVEN Finger Gunners joining the pod and amassing an absolute cavalcade of madness. Joining Rossko is Kat, Miles, Josh, Sean, the returning Tom and Jonathan Brown (aka Yogdog) making his first appearance on the podcast as we talk all about our Games of the Year and everything that is to come.

We delve into our Game of the Year choices and share with the group just why these games were so damn special to us, elaborating on our written segments in the website GOTY article. There's a fair few of us now so there's a fair few games to get into, it's a hell of a list.

Elsewhere we talk hype for 2023 and whilst it looks like there's a certified banger dropping at least every single month we try to narrow it down with a hefty list of games we're looking forward to (but still manage to add plenty on at the end). With a simple cheer-o-meter we garner what the team is looking forward to the most and what we can probably do without next year, if anything at all. And also, we're still unsure whether or not we're allowed to bloody play Hogwarts Legacy or not.

A huge shout out to Kat also who put together an almighty Big Fat Game Quiz of 2022 which saw us take on nearly double the questions as normal and try to remember some of the nonsense we wrote in our reviews as questions. It's a hell of a laugh and we hope you can join in at home on at least some of the questions.

Never fear though our regular segment Game of the Week remains as Miles talks Crisis Core: Final Fantasy Reunion, Kat and Rossko get hype on the ridiculously funny High on Life, newbie YogDog talks Rimworld, Sean shares his thoughts on WhipDrive years after release (now shiny and better than ever on PS5), Tom tosses a coin to the next-gen Witcher 3 upgrade and Josh finally tries Vampire Survivors.

We're back! The Finger Guns Podcast makes its triumphant return with episode 186, where Rossko, Kat, Miles, Josh and Yogdog get back together to talk all things video games and what we've been playing over the festive period.

Whilst the week has been somewhat light on news thus far, we manage to cram some minutes out of just what Bungie could be working on with their five unannounced projects and what we'd like to see new from the now legendary FPS developer.

Elsewhere Sony have finally revealed an accessibility controller, known right now as Project Leonardo. We talk the very good news that Sony have at last moved into the sector where all can play their games, and just hope it's not out of peoples reach when it comes to price. There's a whole lot to like about this product, but will Sony market it correctly?

Our main topic though is our Metacritic Predictions -Results. If you remember way back in January last year we took a selection of games that were due for release in 2022 and gave our own Metacritic predictions for each game. Well now it's time to jump back in and see how well we did. It's quite the listen!

There's also plenty of recommendations (including TV shows, creme eggs and oh yeah, some video games), Red Dead 2, Rossko gets vindicated over What Remains of Edith Finch thanks to Josh, Miles talks his love for Arcade Paradise and Yogdog talks playing with a selection of Fallout mods.

It's time to delve deep into the third episode of HBO's The Last of Us, and well, safe to say we weren't ready for the absolute heartbreak this episode had waiting for us.

With incredible central performances from Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett, 'Long, Long Time' cements itself as the best episode thus far and perhaps one of the greatest hours of television that's been broadcast in, well, a long, long time. Join Rossko, Kat, Miles and Josh as they remember the tears and the moments that complimented the game, along with deep diving into Bill and Frank's relationship, beautifully complimenting Joel's journey with Ellie.

IT'S TIME TO GO TO HOGWARTS, Y'ALL.

It's also episode 190 and Rossko, Miles, Kat, Yogdog and the returning Sean gets into the weeks news but there's a whole lotta Hogwarts Legacy talk now the embargo has finally passed. It's really good, and we do take the sweet time to tell you why. We also get into the sad news that a future Titanfall game has been cancelled, Back4Blood is coming to an end and we also talk what the bloodyhell is going on with The Day Before? We have no idea but we try to piece together an idea with the evidence we have.

Kat shares her impressions of the wonderful Hogwarts Legacy with input from latecomers Rossko and Sean, Miles has talked about jumping back into a bunch of games this week, Sean has also found the good in Gotham Knights and Yogdog has continued his playthrough with the Battletec mods.

There's also a second Miles quiz and well, it gets very chaotic very quickly.

After skipping a week due to life, our HBO's The Last of Us podcast is back with a look back at Episode 4 and Episode 5. The first episodes you can kinda claim to be a 'part one' and 'part two' seemed to make sense to talk about together and seeing as our scheduled were all messed up it made sense to wait a little bit and then smash them together in one epic review podcast.

Ep 4 and 5 presents Joel and Ellie reaching Kansas City, whose QZ has been obliterated and the people are killing FEDRA in the streets. It's up to Joel and Ellie to get our alive and maybe, just maybe taking some heroes along with them.

We're back with The Last of Us and it's time for Ellie and Riley's Amazing Night At The Mall With Absolutely No Sad Things Happening Whatsoever.

The team get into Left Behind with reckless abandon, with Kat admitting she hasn't played the DLC and shares some interesting takes from someone who has never played it. There's plenty to explain and get into Ellie's backstory with Riley, their love for each other, Mortal Kombat II and writer Neil Druckmann teaching us all how to do fatalities. On this weeks podcast the team are thin on the ground as Rossko, Josh and Yogdog take on the weeks news whilst the rest of the team are taken over my Cordoceps.

We tear through the BAFTA Game Nominations and choose our winners from every category along with choosing our pie in the sky announcements from this weeks Capcom Direct. Yogdog also fills us in on the very interesting Paradox Direct which showcased some of their latest titles including Cities Skylines 2, DLC for Crusader Kings III and much, much more.

Our main topic though is hype. Do we get sucked in? Should we fall for hype? Is hype...dare we say...overhyped? We discuss. So far it's been a mixed bag in regards to games we've been excited for which ultimately disappointed us but we've also had games we were excited for that really delivered, but what is hype? There's a fair amount to discuss so we get into it as best we can.

Of course we also have game of the week and Yogdog has been Mechin' his way through Phantom Brigade, Josh has jumped into Obscure Tales's Lamentum while Rossko has been somewhat disappointed by Destiny 2's latest DLC, Lightfall.

Here it is, the final episode of our The Last of Us HBO Podcast 'Look For The Light'. This week for the last time (until Season 2, of course..) It's here! We've made it to episode 200 of The Finger Guns Podcast and holy crap on a cracker have we got a treat for you. Joining the returning Rossko with Miles, Kat, Josh and Yogdog is the brilliant Ethan Lawrence, returning for a fourth time and causing more chaos than ever. I'm pretty sure we talked about video games at one point.

We get into the news of the week too, of course (eventually) but I'm not entirely sure we can write a description here of this episode because it's a no holds barred, no real system episode that went off the rails extremely quickly, and possibly includes the longest quiz we've ever done but my word is it epic.

Fortunately we still managed to find time to include Game of the Week and Kat has been checking out the Crash Team Rumble Closed Beta, Miles has been checking out the unique and superb Strayed Lights, Josh has been playing the tactical roguelike deckbuilders Wildheart, Ethan has taken himself back to 2017 with the wonderful Stardew Valley and Yogdog has been checking out a game he can't yet talk about.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Kat, Miles, Josh and Yogdog get together once again to talk everything video games and this week it's all Xbox as the aftermath of the poor Redfall reviews led Xbox head Phil Spencer to publicly apologise to the community on the state of the game after promising so much. It's an interesting topic as to whether or not this was the right thing to do, but we have a good chat about this and the state of Xbox right now regardless.

Elsewhere in PlayStation land there are rumours abound of an upcoming Showcase which will finally (hopefully) answer the questions of what the hell their studios have been working on. We may see some more Spidey, we may get MGS3?! It's all up in the air but by jove we're all a bit excited about it. Well, except for Kat.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast it's a been a quiet week leading up to the PlayStation Showcase so Rossko, Josh and Sean get together to talk everything they could find including the news that Dead By Daylight will be receiving a single player expansion soon from Supermassive Games, the makers of Until Dawn and The Quarry. Rossko asks DBD superfan Josh if he's psyched for it, along with written in thoughts from Kat and Miles, who couldn't join the pod this week.

We also talk a Lord of the Rings MMO coming from Amazon on the back of their first hit, New World. We try and decipher how they could make such a thing really rather good and hopefully we can look forward to whatever it's going to be. There's also been talk from Take Two Interactive this week that their upcoming fiscals are going to be very healthy indeed which leads to the assumption that Grand Theft Auto 6 may not be as far away as we think? We break down the numbers along with everything else they have incoming and see if GTA can find a space in a busy release schedule from the company.

And of course, the aforementioned PlayStation Showacse is going to dominate the news this week so we put out heads together to see if we can figure out some of the more out there possibilities from the show and our most ridiculous theories. Could GTA 6 close the show? Will we see the fabled G-Police Remake or PlayStation All Stars Battle-Royale 2? We haven't got long to find out.

Josh has been playing Undergrave (whilst tearing through Humanity), Sean and Rossko have been playing a fair bit of LEGO 2K Drive and despite the microtransactions poisoning the perfect LEGO world, it's a really good time. Rossko has also been checking out the Starship Troopers Extermination Early Access and is having a hell of a time shooting the ever living hell outta bugs with Miles, hear all about it!

This week on the Finger Guns Podcast in the wake of Summer Game Fest the podteam of Rossko, Kat, Miles, Josh and Yogdog all choose our most anticipated games for the rest of the year and boy, are there are metric ton of wonderful games incoming. There's even a Nintendo exclusive in there! Who would have thunk it?

Elsewhere we say a fond farewell to the Xbox One after Microsoft have confirmed they are no longer making games for the system. We talk the infamous reveal show and where the system went right in the end and discuss why we all decided to go PlayStation last generation after all enjoying our Xbox 360's. It's a fun chat and a nice reminder of where Xbox were to where they are now. A heroes journey if there ever was one.

Also there are Final Fantasy XVI spoilers out there so be wary if you want to go into the game completely fresh on Thursday. To manage this we talk our hype levels and once again drool over that incredible demo which sold us all on picking the game up day one.

Kat kicks us off in Game of the Week with the console release of Crime Boss: Rockay City, you know that we've been playing it for a while and were looking forward to checking out the co-op, and Kat, Rossko, Josh, Miles (and even the elusive Paul Collett) jumped in to check out this updated release. Josh has been checking out the lovely Dordogne and the emotionally charged Before Your Eyes on PSVR 2, Yogdog has spent the week playing Team Fight Tactics (which is kinda in the League of Legends universe), Miles went back in time to finally play Dynasty Warriors 9 and Rossko has been budling rollercoasters in Park Beyond.

On this weeks bumper Finger Guns Podcast Rossko is joined by Kat, Miles, Sean, Josh, Yogdog *and* Tom for a mass dissection of the weeks gaming news and playing a whole bunch of brand new games.

In the news this week our main topic is the ongoing FTC v Xbox hearing, where some wild revelations are coming out regarding Xbox's business practices and just how far they were willing to go in order to bring down PlayStation, and PlayStation's brutal retaliations. If you ever wanted a console war, never fear, it's all happening behind closed doors apparently. We get into the wild reveals to see just what we think of everything, and whether or not we're actually going to see some video games from Microsoft one day whilst they're busy buying more studios to make them. It's a bizarre week for Xbox and it's only going to get more insane as they try to finally get their acquisition of Acti/Blizz over the line.

Elsewhere Google could be making a comeback to the gaming space, this time via YouTube. A plan they had early on was to link to games from YouTube to immediately play and well, it looks like they're finally making good on that promise. If they market this correctly (which, let's be honest, they definitely didn't do with Stadia), could this be the future of how we consume games? It's a long shot, but we're intrigued to see what happens.

Also, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 line-up has supposedly leaked. Are our MGS megafans Miles and Josh happy with the line-up? What would they add? Apparently 'Metal Gear Survive' was not the right answer, who knew?

Miles has been taking down Xenomorphs in Alien Dark Descent and Operation Polygon Storm ,Sean has been in the ring checking out AEW Fight Forever, Yogdog has been strateging it up in Strategic Command World War 1 on PC, Josh has been checking out the Open Beta of Ubisofr's xDefiant with a little help from Miles and even less help from Rossko, Kat and her beloved Crash Bandicoot are back together in the super fun Crash Team Rumble and Rossko, Tom and Sean talk about the wonders of that indie darling Final Fantasy XVI. Oh, Sean and Yogdog have also checked out the brand new Warhammer 40000 Leviathan Box.

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast - after being unable to complete it due to technical issues last week - we're now back back back with our Mid-2023 Metacritic Predictions Results So Far 2023...you get it.

If you remember earlier in the year we dedicated an episode to predicting the Metacritic scores of all the games we knew were releasing this year (or at least were due to at the time of recording). So what we're doing is jumping back into that list to see how we're getting on, who has made it the closest to their scores and just who is leading the pack as we dive headfirst into the gaming season very, very soon. We also add a bunch of games that have been announced and due for release this year.

We also talk Viewfinder with Josh, Rossko talks Twisted Metal and The Crew Motorfest Closed Beta, Yogdog has been getting his Warhammer on, Kat and Josh have been checking out multiplayer games all week and ended up choosing Children of Morta(!) and Miles tore the spine out of Krzyżacy – The Knights of the Cross.

This is it, at last. After months of hearing us go on about our Linkin Park podcast Rossko, Miles and special guest Joe Chessum finally, finally got together to get this podcast done and oh boy. It's an absolute monster.

Clocking in at just around four hours (we're really sorry), the boys gather around to rank every single one of Linkin Park's studio albums. With some shocking takes that will rock any Linkin Park fan to its very foundations, this obscene, ridiculous, hilarious (and even emotional and heartfelt) podcast is by far our biggest ever undertaking and without question our most audacious effort to date. If you're a die-hard LP fan, you're not going to want to miss this.

Welcome to a brand new Finger Guns spin-off podcast - Pin Point! Each episode we'll talk one on one with media and entertainment professionals, whether it be from the game, film or music industry to discuss their careers, how they got started, the highs and lows of the job and their own opinions on the industry.

To kick off then I'm honoured and frankly a little amazed to be joined by an author, a podcaster, a barrister and writer for Empire Magazine among others but most impressively I think, saw the original Broadway cast production of Hamilton with her own eyes, it's Helen O'Hara!

Helen sits down with Rossko (over Zoom, like) to discuss the SAG-AFTRA strikes, the current state of the MCU, getting into the film journalist industry and so much more (including possibly turning for Gal Gadot if you see her in her Wonder Woman costume in the flesh...it's a genuine possibility, we've discovered).

Along with Helen's favourite films, her incredible insight into film journalism as a whole and working with her team for nearly 20 years, it's a fascinating insight into the inner workings of Empire Magazine and many more, and it's well worth a listen if you're at all interested in the film journalism industry as a whole.

This week on the Finger Guns Podcast we're all absolutely exhausted after failing to get through Gamescom's Opening Night Live without falling asleep (genuinely). Rossko, Miles, Kat, Josh, Yogdog and the returning Toby Andersen get together to talk the highlights of the show and yes, we did find some. No, genuinely! It was a good show, so long as you weren't expecting video games at a particular standard, right?

On the enormously positive and not at all misery fuelled (and much more improved than last week...sorry about that one) Finger Guns Podcast this week...oh boy, it's nearly time to turn on our jet engines and tear it into the great unknown with Starfield just around the corner. This week on the FG Pod Rossko, Kat, Miles and Josh get together to talk everything about the weeks news along with a certain big release that's taken over Rossko and Yogdogs lives.

In the news we talk the somewhat surprising news that Everbody's Gone to the Rapture developer The Chinese Room has taken over development on Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 after years of trouble and now aims to release the game in fall next year. Are they the right studio to bring it to life? I guess we'll soon find out. Elsewhere The Elder Scrolls 6 is now officially in development now Bethesda have shipped Starfield, but we've still got a long long wait to see anything from the game. We take bets on when we'll see it and if there will be Skyrim Edition of something released before then. There probably will.

We also talk the sad news that Saints Row developer Volition have closed their doors after owners Embracer decided to shut down the studio with immediate effect. Was the writing on the wall after the reception to the Saints reboot? We discuss.

Kat has been checking out The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and turns out she's bloody terrified of being hunted, which is rather funny. Josh has been reviewing Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, Miles has been checking out the uber violent and super fun SPRAWL along with Mediterranean Inferno, from the makers of Saturnalia. while Rossko and Yogdog have been playing that new indie on Xbox called Starfield, but we haven't really spoken about it too much...

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Miles, Josh and Kat have got together once again to talk everything about the gaming week. First up we talk the cracking PlayStation State of Play and get super excited about Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth now that is has an absolutely storming trailer and a release date to boot! We also talk our highlights of the rest of the show along with getting hype about the end of the Switch's life with the terrific Nintendo Direct that featured some exciting announcements that got us all giddy like Diddy Kong. Elsewhere we get deep into Unity's dirty tactics to take a percentage of every game installed made in their engine and the huge uproar of the games industry rallying against it. It's a big deal. We get into it.

Miles has been tearing quite literally tearing fools limb from limb in the brutal and brilliant Mortal Kombat 1, Josh has been checking out the unique and very cool Gunbrella (there's a gun in an umbrella basically...) and Kat and Rossko has been tearing through the almighty Party Animals, coming this week to Xbox and PC!

This week on the Finger Guns Podcast we rejoice for Xbox having a cracking start with Starfield only to be derailed once again by an enormous data leak which showcased their plans for the next seven years all over the internet. We take a look and despite Phil Spencer downlplaying their significance, well, we get into them anyway and get giddy about what they shared.

We also talk some good news in camp Xbox with the reveal that the UK CMA Regulatory Board have tentatively approved their Activision acquisition, at last. We get excited about this, not only because it means we may no longer have to bloody talk about it.

Also, Square-Enix want to update classic IP to AAA status. What games would we like them to upgrade and well, more importantly, what the hell does that even mean?

In her limited free time Kat has been finally checking out the glorious Powerwash Simulator, Miles has been checking out Dune: Spice Wars and the Ghostrunner II demo (which killed him 25 times in 26 minutes), Josh talks his multiplayer experience with the gang in Payday 3 and Rossko has been checking out the brand new but still the same EA FC24.
