EnergyX is developing a direct lithium extraction technology that holds the promise of dramatically increasing rates of recovery from brine-based lithium in a fraction of the time required and environmental impacts of traditional evaporative processes.

Given the IEA's projection of demand for lithium rising by 900% by 2030 and by 4,000% by 2040, this is the kind of technological advancement that must take place very quickly of the energy transition is going to reach any sort of critical mass.

In Episode 3 of The Energy Question with David Blackmon, David and Stu Turley interview Sarp Ozkan, Vice President of Commercial Product at Enverus and Tim Stewart, President of the U.S. Oil & Gas Association, for their respective takes on the "Inflation Reduction Act" passed by the Democratic Party and signed into law by president Joe Biden.

Along with the great Armando Cavanha, she also partners with me at The Energy Transition podcast, where we have great fun covering the faltering landscape of this energy transition each Monday.

Today, David interviews Jack Belcher, Principal with the Cornerstone Group, a diverse advisory firm with a dozen offices around the country. Jack leads the advisory group based in Houston, and has expertise in all phases of the energy sector.

In Episode 6 of The Energy Question with David Blackmon, David interviews Craig Jones, the CEO of Forever Energy. 

Forever Energy is a startup company that has plans to manufacture Vanadium Flow Batteries in the U.S. VFBs have tremendous potential to displace less-efficient and reliable lithium-ion batteries in the electric vehicles and renewable energy space in the years to come. The technology is already being made and distributed at scale in China, and Forever Energy plans to lead the way to similar outcomes in the United States.

In Episode 8 of The Energy Question, David interviews Krishna Sapkota, Energy Associate, Energy at Enverus. 

The focus is on a recent report by Enverus authored by Krishna, which finds the potential for parts of Europe running out of natural gas by late winter unless drastic conservation measures currently being undertaken across the continent are successful.

In this episode of The Energy Question, David Blackmon interviews Ben Shepperd, President of the Permian Basin Petroleum Association. Created in the early 1960s, PBPA represents the interests of the oil and gas industry in the huge region, which spans most of West Texas and a big swath of Southeastern New Mexico.

During the course of this interview, Ben discusses how reforms being made to the Texas power grid are impacting his members, New Mexico's ongoing irrational assault on an industry that funds 40% of its state budget, operational challenges currently happening in the Oil Patch, and an array of other topics.

It's a fast-paced and informative half-hour with one of the real leaders in the Texas oil business.

In Episode 10 of The Energy Question With David Blackmon, David's special guest is Michael Cembalest, Chief Investment Officer at JP Morgan Asset Management. 

Every year, Michael creates and publishes a comprehensive report on the global energy space as a service to investors. This year's report is titled "The Elephants in the Room," a 49-page opus that provides an excellent overview of that is happening related to energy and the energy transition across the globe.

In Episode 11 of The Energy Question, David interviews S&P Global Vice Chairman Dan Yergin, author of the incredible series of books about oil and energy: "The Prize," "The Quest," and his most recent, "The New Map."

In this episode, David and Dan discuss world events surrounding energy and energy policy, with a focus on the fact that Dan foresaw so much of what is happening today in "The New Map."

In Episode 76 of The Energy Question, David Blackmon interviews Jacki Daily, host of the terrific Jacki Daily show at Blaze TV. 

David and Jacki focus their discussion on Jacki's views about the threat to all Americans' rights to a fair trial that the recent secretive impeachment of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton presents. Paxton was impeached in the final days of the regular legislative session in May, following a weeks-long investigation held behind closed doors in which the defendant had no opportunity to present evidence or argue his case.

This process went against all state precedent and constitutional requirements governing impeachment processes. Jacki points out that if this can be done to a sitting Attorney General, it can be done to any of us, too.

The second half of the interview focuses in on the presidential campaign by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Jacki's analysis that his independent candidacy is likely to take more votes away from Donald Trump or another GOP nominee than he would from Joe Biden or another Democrat nominee in 2024.
