Much like when Bruce Dickinson joined the ranks of Iron Maiden, Brian Johnson had a past as well.  This was completely unknown to me and now we're going to have to dig into this band from Newcastle. So crack open a Newky Brown and find your favorite spot in the pub.

Well, after the Revenge Era Kiss lineup broke up, Eric Singer decided to get with his old buddy, Bruce Kulick, and his new buddy John Corabi, and somehow all three of them's newest buddy, Karl Cochrane.

Sadly, we couldn't find the one with Karl, so we did this live record instead.

The God, Ronnie James Dio, said he'd never open for a clown. So when there's a war in heaven, what else could be done? Tony and Geez called in another god to sort it all out. The Mercurial Rob Halford, late of Judas Priest, filled in for Dio for two shows.

This experiment is precisely what his fans were clamoring for.

This is also the tour that spawned "The Alice Cooper Show" recorded live in Las Vegas,, though featuring none of the songs from the album.

Years ago, while at my friend's house, I saw his cassette copy of Black Sabbath Born Again and even though I considered myself quite the fan of Black Sabbath, I'd never heard of or anything off of this record, or so I thought. Zero The Hero was on a death metal Black Sabbath Tribute by Cannibal Corpse.

But that was as close as I ever got to this album.

Today, we go in deep on this album, the events surrounding the tour, the recording, the aftermath, and this beautiful record. A Goodly amount of time is spent giggling and talking about Spinal Tap.

In the 1960's, Rock's first supergroup reared its head and Cream ruled the world for about 24 glorious months. Unfortunately, no other supergroup was able to fully wear the mantle from that point on.

But nearly a quarter century later, Ginger Baker, the exceedingly sane and uber-talented drummer ends up with Masters of Reality and records an album called Sunrise on the Suffer Bus.

Now that he has this all star band to kill all all star bands does he set about writing an album the define his career and crush all comers?

No.

He does a covers record.

In 1998, David Lee Roth, John Lowery, later John 5, and other kids all assembled in the studio to create the masterpiece of the hair metal about 9 years after the genre had collapsed upon itself.

Anyone listening to this kind of music who's around my age has got to remember "Joe Elliott" coming up to "Phil Collen" in the VH1 made for TV movie about Def Leppard.

He was in a band called Girl and he was bandmates with future LA Guns singer, Phil Lewis. This band was PHILLED up with Phils.

In 1986, Terry Glaze was given a two week notice from Pantera. Instead of diffusing the tensions in the band, he just walked away.

In time, Phil Anselmo fills his shoes and finishes the album they had been recording.

It was called Power Metal.

"Come Taste The Band" was the tenth and final album in the original run of Deep Purple. It's funny to call Mark IV part of the original run, but what are ya gonna do?

This album features only the keyboards and drums of the classic lineup and they didn't really bring any songs to the table.

Year's before Tommy Thayer was singing Shock Me with Kiss, he was singing Shock Me with Cold Gin, often in front of Kiss. Years before that, he was a member of the glam hair band, Black'n'Blue with Jamie St. James and some other kids.
