It's the first day of Summer 2019 and we are so happy have on our podcast, all the way from the United Kingdom, blogger, YouTuber, Facebook and social media princess, Emma of Cruising Isn't Just For Old People!

We asked Emma to come and share with our listeners her stories and experiences on Viking Cruises. Scott and his first mate, Pam share together their recent experiences on the Carnival Radiance. During the pandemic, the ship underwent the largest and longest refurbishment and make over in Carnival's history, such additions as Shaq's Big Chicken, Guy's Pig and Anchor Smokehouse and more exciting things.  The ship looks marvelous, the crew is amazing, and it is wonderful that the West Coast has another great cruise vessel to enjoy on memorable adventures! How in the world did The Walt Disney Company come into possession of the famous cruise liner, the Queen Mary, Howard Hughes Spruce Goose airplane and over 200 acres of surrounding land at the port of Long Beach, California? Did you know that for many years they operated the Queen Mary and had plans to build a theme park, hotels, restaurants, a marina, a cruise ship terminal and even a monorail and more?  

Well, we are going to "cruise back in time" with Disney historian and author, Jim Korkis to tell us this fascinating and detailed story.  This was a monumental and amazing project that Disney wanted to construct. It would have been the most incredible Disney project ever and Jim has all the unbelievable information and why it was ultimately abandoned. 

Jim is author of over 30 books and has worked for The Walt Disney Company in many different and interesting capacities. If you are interested in Disney history and what goes on behind the scenes, Jim definitely always has a wonderful story to share.

Well we finally get to hear from Scott and hear about some of the fun and interesting things he did with his family on their Christmas cruise on the Carnival Splendor. This was a seven day Mexican Riviera cruise roundtrip from Long Beach, California during the Christmas holiday.

The Splendor has become the family's favorite local cruise ship. They love the ship, crew, entertainment and of course the food!

The Splendor will only be in California for a few more months, then head for drydock and refurbishment in October and November then redeployed to Australia in December 2019.

Tommy is back from his 40th wedding anniversary cruise on the phenomenal Sky Princess! This 14 day cruise went from Southampton, England into the Arctic Circle and all the way to the most northern town in Europe, Honningsvag, Norway, North Cape. This cruise had 8 port stops in Norway and 1 stop in Belgium. On this  show we are going to talk about the Sky Princess a bit and then get down to business and discuss all the wonderful food he had onboard the ship. After 20 years of waiting, it is so exciting to have a brand new ship now on the west coast of California. 

We were invited to the naming and dedication ceremony last week and it was a phenomenal celebration! On this show we share about everything that we saw and experienced. From Pig and Anchor to the SkyZone to Rock Revolution, this ship has it all. The ship is absolutely beautiful and is a perfect fit for us Southern Californian cruisers who enjoy the Mexican Riviera. In fact, it is a perfect fit for all cruisers!
