23 Jun 2022 | How To Use Storytelling To Market Your Business - Elizabeth Ruth | 00:57:41
Stories are one thing that unites all human beings, no matter where they come from. We are all drawn to stories, so I've invited Elizabeth Ruth, owner of Elizabeth Ruth Marketing Service, a company specialising in creating content with a story-first approach. She went from being a fundraiser to a VA to doing everything to focusing on the one thing she loves-getting the best stories out of her clients and using them to build relationships and authority. In this episode, we discuss ways to make marketing fun and show up as an introvert entrepreneur with confidence. She challenges solopreneur to show their face in business to build a personal brand. I especially loved her idea of embracing the zero and doing the tasks instead of waiting to be perfect. Elizabeth also shares how she uses data to achieve her business goals without getting overwhelmed. If you're new to content creation and are looking to find some inspiration for how storytelling can be used or how to have fun creating content, listen to this episode to hear what Elizabeth has to say. 04 Aug 2022 | How To Create A #1 Charting Academic Podcast - Mikko Heiskala | 00:44:28
You may not know that podcast is not only a great marketing tool, but it can also play a significant role in academic learning. As our guest on this episode, Mikko Heiskala, a PhD student and university lecturer from Finland, has proved this.
Mikko's initial idea was to build it as a learning tool for his students. But while sharing his podcast learning experiences with his wife Nina, she suggested that since there weren’t any evidence-based psychology podcasts, they should start one together. This saw the launch of their show Psykopodiaa. It now has 1.2 million streams and averages 13,000 downloads per episode; just to give that some context, there are 5.5 million people in Finland, and this is a Finnish spoken language podcast. In addition to number metrics, their podcast is recommended by university lecturers to students, and doctors also suggest listening to it for their patents. They have gained deep professional trust through their podcast, which has led to a number of speaking opportunities. In this episode, he discusses how focusing on the subject matter, adjusting the podcast duration to the listener, and respecting knowledge helped him succeed in the content creation journey. Tune into the episode to find out Mikko's success secret. GUEST BIOMikko Heiskala is a PhD student and university lecturer from Finland. Mikko's original idea was to use podcasting as a learning tool for his students, and he went on to do a short course in podcast production. At this point, his wife, a psychologist, suggested why don't we create a podcast about psychology. She found that the current psychology content out there wasn't great. And it didn't discuss evidence-based knowledge. So on April fool's day, 2019, Psykopodiaa was launched. It was very successful, had 1.2 million streams, and averaged 13,000 downloads per episode. Now, just to give that some context, there are 5.5 million people in Finland, and this is a Finnish spoken language podcast

09 Dec 2021 | Publish: Where Are You Distributing Your Podcast? | 00:16:31
In this episode of the KULT Kreator Experience, we begin the final step of the KKE and we start by looking at how we publish our content. Publishing your content is relatively easy. We take our finished asset, be it video or audio and we host it on a server. We then share the location of the content with our audience for them to follow and consume. BUT of course, there is a bit more to it than that. I am going to walk through the process of publishing content and point out some of the key points and optimisations we can make. We will be chatting about metadata, the podcast apps like Apple and Spotify, the infrastructure of distribution, how your listeners can access your content, and the wonder of scheduling. If this sounds like a journey you’d like to be part of, please follow us on Instagram @kult.media and on your podcasting app of choice. In this episode, we discuss:

18 Aug 2022 | How To Produce An Audio Drama Podcast And Fulfil A Creative Dream - Melissa Del Toro Schaffner | 00:51:13
In today's episode, our guest is Melissa Del Toro Schaffner. She is an American Voice Actor and co-creator/producer/narrator of The Untold Tales Podcast - a short story sci-fi audio drama. As a child, Melissa enjoyed making different voices, but she chose electrical engineering as a career. When her daughter was born, she refused to go back to her job as she didn't want to miss any key moments of her daughter's life. After taking a leap of faith, she started her voice acting business. She began doing audiobooks and turn, met a fantastic author, and together they collaborated to create an audio drama podcast -"The Untold Tales", a sci-fi short story podcast In this episode, she shared how she uses her podcast to share her talent as a voice actor and other creative storytellers' stories. Podcasting has given her a space to show her creativity and not bound by any agency or person to dictate what she should instead be doing. She puts so much effort into her podcast by choosing a great story, hiring a coach to help her play characters' accents, and selecting songs that go well with the story. With podcasting, she planned for the long game, giving herself at least a year to build an audience and a back catalogue of binge-listening. She is now on in season 3 of her podcast. 02 Dec 2021 | Post Production Strategy: How & Why To Edit Your Podcast | 00:37:30
In this episode of the KULT Kreator Experience, we come up against one of the most disliked subjects in podcasting and content creation, Post Production. Post Production can become a huge time sap and stress for lots of people, and because of that, it is one of the most outsourced tasks. But do we even need post-production? I’ve spent over 15 years working in post-production. I can say it’s been an eye-opening experience. Working in the final stages of production reveals all of the minor issues that have now become major mistakes, the variation in quality vs budget vs planning and the possibilities to add something special to incredible content. And in this episode, I will seek to answer the question of “do we need to edit or have post-production?” After all, I’ve spent 7 episodes telling you how planning as best as possible will reduce the need for fixes later in the process. But I do believe editing and post-production can level up your content. 07 Jul 2022 | How To Have An Impact With Your Podcast - Rob Lawrence | 01:00:11
Do you love sharing your knowledge with the world and impacting people's lives? But you are wondering how I can do that, and maybe imposter syndrome is hitting you hard to think who are you to do that? If you said yes in your head, you would love to tune into today's episode. This week, I have an interview with a podcast producer, podcast host, and certified life coach, Rob Lawrence, who helps high-achieving creative professionals, coaches, and leaders tell their stories and create content worth listening to. Rob shared his fascinating story, from being in IT to becoming a life coach who helps others redefine their lives. During his training to become a coach, Rob fell in love with podcasts, listening to other people's stories. He wanted to understand how creatives can make money doing what they love, so he launched his podcast Inspirational creatives, which now has more than 300 episodes, millions of downloads, and countless impacts on their listener. While Rob has succeeded, he has had a rollercoaster ride dealing with imposter syndrome. He overcomes it by realizing it is blocking him from helping others. People easily fall into vanity metrics when starting podcasts, but Rob has one determinant - impacting people's lives. His focus is always on the listener, and he often interviews them to understand how he can help them better. Rob shared his process of creating a podcast, from generating an idea to editing and marketing it. He also shared how delegating some of the post-production work frees him to focus on his zone of genius. We also discussed some methods anyone looking to grow their show could use. Today's guest, Roberta Lipp, is the cohost and producer of the widely successful "They Coined It, A Mad Men" podcast. Roberta has always been passionate about creating content and talking about the things she loves. After dropping so many ideas, she began writing the blog on the famous American television show Mad Men; it became a widely successful blog about the show at that time. Her journey doesn't end there. After a successful blog, she evolved it into a podcast, which has become equally successful. They spoke to the actors and creators of the show. They had fans involved. They got an opportunity to go on the show set and even got invited to do a book tour after co-authoring a book about Mad Men. When Roberta started her journey, she didn't have any fancy plans. She just had a strong why; she knew what she wanted to discuss and create. It all began when she would watch an episode, call her sister and then re-watch the VHS of the same episode and call her sister, and the cycle continued. She revealed that they don't make significant revenue from the podcast, but they enjoy the process and all opportunities it comes along with. She has shared so much wisdom from her journey. We discuss how to structure a podcast episode carefully, and she is very particular about it. We talk about engagement strategies to grow your audience. We discuss whether Patreon is extra stress on your podcast and how passion is a content creator's superpower. There are so many stories and ideas in this episode, I am sure you will love it. No other medium is as easy to use for content creation or as a teaching and learning tool as podcasts, and this is something that our today's guest has experienced. Welcome to the new episode of The Kult Creator Experience. In this episode, we are joined by dad, mentor, programmer, podcaster, business owner, and content creator, Jamie Taylor. Jamie is passionate about teaching, mentoring industry newcomers, and creating Eureka moments. With the goal of sharing his knowledge, he started his blog in 2016. On the recommendation of a friend, he started podcasts by initially repurposing all of his blog posts into podcasts. Today, his podcast, The .Net Core podcast, has achieved over 400,000 downloads, with industry peers asking to be part of it, including those from Microsoft. Today, he'll discuss the importance of having a clear purpose for podcasts and how to create a welcoming environment for newcomers and those who might not feel comfortable speaking up. 09 Jun 2022 | How To Build Relationships Through Podcasts - Chris Ducker | 00:43:00
The average view time of a YouTube video is only six or seven minutes max, and then when you look at podcasts, the average listening time is about 30 minutes. So the connection that you made with your podcast listener rather than your YouTube viewer in my eyes is much, much greater, says Chris Ducker, our new entrepreneur guest of this week's Podcast. Chris Ducker is a serial entrepreneur, best-selling author, and an international businessman, and he has been creating content for his business since 2010. He produced four podcast series with another one on the way, and his most recent series Youpreneur has over 8 million downloads and 450 episodes in total. In total, he's probably produced over a thousand podcast episodes, and that doesn't include his guest appearances. He helps entrepreneurs build their personal brand and know the power podcast content. He further adds that podcasts can form and grow a relationship that, for me, is a much shorter sales process since they're spending so much more time with you in the eardrum, so to speak, they've already made that commitment almost. Although Chris runs three internationally successful companies, he is a father and husband and has many hobbies; he still finds time to engage with his listeners personally.
Chris noted that people start a show and obsess over their download numbers, just a little bit too much, and they don't mean anything unless you're getting engagement from your listeners or viewers. In this episode, Chris tells us how he uses podcasts to create relationships that help his business grow. Check out this episode if you are considering creating a podcast but aren't sure how it can benefit your business. 15 Dec 2021 | Where And How To Promote & Grow Your Podcast | 00:19:37
In this episode of the KULT Kreator Experience, This is episode 10 and will be the final of this series. It’s been a lot of fun to be on the other side of the glass as they say. I’ve been producing podcasts for 5 years and audio content in general of over 15. I have always been so hesitant to be in front of the mic, worried I wouldn’t be comfortable or sound like a complete fool. I probably still sound like a fool, but it's been really enjoyable producing a show for myself. I might do a bonus episode about some of the lessons I have learnt finally producing my own show in the next few months. But first I have a few tests to do with the podcast to see if I can grow it a little bit more before series 2 kicks off. You might be wondering why are you not pushing the podcast more as it goes live? Well, I have been promoting the show via my social media pipes but the plan for this first series was to produce it as a resource to support KULT Media as we grow the business. I wanted a free resource that can help people learn about podcasting and understand the steps to successful content creation. The power of series one will be as a reference and long term content. Allowing me to provide assistance to clients that might not be in the position to hire me but I can still help them launch & grow their podcasts. BUT enough about me and the marketing of my podcast let’s help you get your podcast out there into the wilderness and get it growing as fast as possible. Today we wrap up the last step of my KKE, collaboration. We will be discussing growing your podcast from zero, effective use of social media, engagement strategy, advertising and gaining that all-important credibility and social proof. Now I am definitely going to admit I am not a marketing expert. I am not going to be talking about split testing, intense ad purchasing and analysis of marketing data. I am going to be sharing the organic, hands-on & more personal approach that allows you to get visibility for your show but fundamentally it is based on your engagement with your audience for success to occur. It just means there will be minimal marketing jargon … cos I don't think the average podcaster needs it. If this sounds like a journey you’d like to be part of, please follow us on Instagram @kult.media and on your podcasting app of choice. In this episode, we discuss:
