Anxiety is a natural part of life. Most of us find ourselves feeling anxiety every now and then but recover quickly. What do you do when your normal way of coping isn’t working the same? This episode we explore natural ways to reduce anxiety that are low cost, low barrier, ways to reduce stress and anxiety. There are several you may have already considered, but I hope to introduce you to a few new ways to reduce your anxiety and find calm again. If you are stuck inside all day, you may find grounding or earthing to be most helpful. EP1 - What is confidence and where does it come from? Confidence requires the willingness to test and fail. This is the skill part. Skills are honed and sharpened by practice. Practice requires action. Action requires willingness. Notice I didn’t say Ability. You have to be able to “do it anyway” even when you are scared or nervous. Each time you exercise this muscle you will build more confidence. Even if you fail, you get feedback or learn something. This learning and feedback moves you forward and helps you create belief. That belief becomes confidence. Confidence can be borrowed. When confidence is low, it is possible to borrow confidence for a short time. You might call this motivation instead of confidence. However, it can help you build your confidence when you don’t have it. Borrowing confidence might be calling a friend who always believes in you, going to a Tony Robbins training, or listening to The Crazy Confidence Coach podcast on confidence! These activities will give you a short term boost and maybe just enough energy to build a skill that will be more sustainable. You cannot become confident on borrowed confidence alone. You can’t just post affirmations around the house and read them without action and expect to be more confident. You have to be willing to work on mindset by managing your mind. EP16- Interview with my MOM! Today is a special day. I will be sharing a heartfelt conversation with my first podcast guest. I am beyond blessed and excited to share this conversation with you and even more proud that it’s my mother. When you think back on your life you will find many people influenced you along the way. Today’s conversation is all about how I interpreted a few of the lessons I picked up during my childhood. My mother has always been a courageous and confident woman in my mind. I have looked up to her and often wondered where she got her strength. I know the confidence I have inside me was molded from some of those lessons I learned watching her. Although this conversation is sweet, intimate, and primarily around the positive experiences we shared in our family, there are so many things we didn’t talk about that were challenging, unique, and equally as formative. We struggled. We fought. I disappointed her many times over my life. As you listen, consider the stories and experiences you have that you could tap into that would give you guidance? Can you find experiences you learned lessons that were valuable and formative in a positive way? In every family and every relationship there is a dichotomy of the good and the not so good. We get to choose what we focus on. What we give power to. The positive and the negative ebs and flows over a lifetime. We grow and expand into individuals that are uniquely created. We don’t always have to agree. It’s actually a beautiful thing when we don’t agree and we are able to respect one another anyway. This is where the magic is. What I am learning in my pursuit of a fulfilled and content life is how much I want to focus on the blessings, the good. One of the reasons I believe I am a great coach is because I have so many experiences that were not wonderful in life. They too molded me into who I am today. I have experienced trauma, and loss on a level many people don’t. Then again, how many of us walk around sharing all the hauntings of our past? I coach many people who have climbed mountains nobody has seen. My hope is that this conversation sparks some memories in your mind of your upbringing. If it wasn’t your mother, that’s okay. Try not to focus on that. Who was there? Who did you look up to? What sparks of confidence did they instill in you? How can you tap into those experiences today? Lastly, if you are a parent. Know that your littles are watching. They are wishing to be like you in ways you never knew. As a child I prayed for my mother’s eyes every evening. She didn’t know this until she was an adult. Most importantly, they don’t care about the stuff you buy or the gifts you give. They care about the lessons you share and the MOST grand of them all the LOVE you give them. When you put down your phone and you meet them where they are. The moments you see them for who they are not who you want them to be. Dig in, get real. Be real. Episode 3 - Can trust be repaired? Broken trust and how to create trust within yourself to build stronger confidence. Did someone in your world break your trust? Maybe it was your friend, a boyfriend, a parent, or if you are married maybe it was your spouse. Maybe it was someone at work. A teammate or your boss. Or there’s that vendor that you do business with who always makes promises that they don’t keep. Many times in our lives we will encounter others that betray us in some way. They break promises, contracts, or simply don’t behave in a way that is trustworthy. This can feel devastating, break our hearts, and at times depending on who it is or what the offense was, it can create a huge hole in our hearts that we don’t know how to fill. Often times, it’s so big it feels as if it can never be filled or repaired. Most likely you have a person picked out in your mind as you are listening to this and you may be shaking your head or thinking YES! I do have someone who broke my trust. You are listening with an anticipatory ear for the answer to how to fix it! What do I do to fix it?? Place your hand you’re your heart and take three deep breaths. For real, stop what you are doing (unless your are driving or operating machinery of course) but even if so you can still take in three long, deep, and controlled breaths. Then I want you to say out loud _____________ you broke my trust and I am _______________ by it. Even though I am ____________________ I forgive you. Take one second and notice what thoughts flood to your brain. I am not forgiving this person for what they did. You just don’t know how badly they hurt me. Or _______ isn’t forgivable. Or maybe you have the thought I wish I could forgive them. That would be great to forgive them. Then I want you to consider this. Forgiving is a choice. It is your choice. The even greater point is that YOU and your thoughts are what is preventing YOU from having peace around this break in trust. Don’t worry, I hear you. Your brain is creating thoughts like “I am not responsible for their behavior.” You are 100 percent correct. I am not asking you to forget what happened to break the trust you once had. What I am asking you to do is to allow YOU to have peace around the break in trust. Why?? You cannot and never will be able to control what other people do to you or how they show up. Period. End of story. Having control over other people and their actions is an illusion. If you are like me, you like the idea of control, you like consistency, you love to be shown respect and you want to trust the people you love and care for. Heck, we even expect to be able to trust people we don’t know, love, or care for. So what is the benefit of forgiving someone who has broken your trust? We tend to believe this is giving the person who broke our trust a break somehow. They aren’t having to pay for what they did. This may be true. Understand that I am not advocating that you TRUST this person or step back into whatever situation that you were in. I am simply asking you to consider letting go of the thoughts that are creating the pain in you right now. This gift of forgiveness is a gift to YOU! The other person doesn’t ever have to know. What are the benefits of letting go and forgiving the hurt and pain that you believe someone else created in your life by breaking your TRUST?

You don’t need other people to approve of you or accept you because you are content with who you are. When you do not trust yourself, your confidence tends to be low, and it will ebb and flow with situations that don’t feel good. What causes lack of TRUST within yourself and hurts your confidence?
The Question remains can trust be repaired? Trust can be repaired but sometimes that repair is required within yourself. It's closing in on Christmas fast. We are only six days away from one of the biggest days of 2023 and then we will rapidly close out the year into a new one. This time of year is busy. It's so easy to get distracted by buying presents and not being present. This time of year is full of family and friends but we can get overwhelmed by personalities and attitudes. This quick podcast will give you three ways you can use mind management to make your Christmas more enjoyable despite it all. #1. Consider being present more than gifting or getting presents Christmas is not only about giving and getting presents it’s about being present. In the moment. Taking time to connect with the people that are in front of you.
#2 Let go of expectations. Yes, I just said Let Go of Expectations. Hear me out. So much of our disappointment comes from our thoughts about how we believe things “should” be? If we learn to do our best and allow others to do their best we would all be much more connected from this one small thing.
#3 Approach the season with a heart of gratitude. Decide to find at least three new things each day to be thankful for. As we rapidly countdown the days to Christmas and closely after that to a New Year, find a few things each and every day to be thankful for. EP22 - Think about the last time you felt crazy confident? Was it after a big accomplishment? Did you do something you were proud of and felt on top of the world? Was it one morning over breakfast as you had your coffee alongside your husband and your children and just felt fulfilled, content, and completely confident life was going well? When we reflect on what we have accomplished especially if it has been a long or a difficult road, we often feel confident in ourselves and our abilities. Have you ever really thought about how your brain comes to believe you can handle whatever comes your way? Your brain needs practice, experiences, and reinforcement. The more you expose yourself to new and challenging things, the more your brain will believe you can handle whatever comes your way. Ultimately, these are the building blocks for confidence. Curiosity can help you achieve that practice, experience, and reinforcement. Curiosity is what drives you to seek out new experiences and thus create success through trying new things. When you challenge yourself by stepping into new experiences you continue to build that bridge in your brain that you are capable of accomplishing new things. Each time you try something and succeed you become more and more confident. It's also helpful to surround yourself with other people who are curious and want to constantly learn and explore. When we are around people who have accomplished things we haven’t we can learn from them, become more motivated to try things out of our norm, and again we become more confident. At the very least meeting people who have done something we never thought possible or didn’t believe we could do ourselves, allows our brains to explore the possibilities and if we maintain a curiosity we are much more likely to explore the possibility for ourselves.
