12 Feb 2023 | ”Real Rest” Part 1 | Carolyn Lacey from Co-Mission Women’s Day 2023 | 00:33:44
Today we'll hear Part 1 from a talk by Carolyn Lacey at Co-Mission Women's Day this year. We're praising God that over 500 women gathered from around London to hear God's word, worship together, and listen to an encouraging talk. The topic this year was "REAL REST". Thanks to all the ladies behind the scenes who helped make Women's Day happen. Within each of us is a deep longing for rest, but it often feels far out of reach. Our culture tells us we must strive to earn the rest we seek, but Jesus invites us to lay aside our striving and come to him. He alone offers real and lasting rest that will satisfy our weary souls. In our two sessions, we will see how Jesus fulfils our longing for rest and how he equips us to live and serve out of the rest we find in him. Carolyn lives in Worcester with her husband, Richard, and their grown-up children. Richard is the lead pastor of Woodgreen Evangelical Church, and they have served in pastoral ministry together for 22 years. Carolyn works part-time as Woodgreen’s Women’s Worker and regularly teaches at women’s events and conferences. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, running and reading historical fiction.

This is our Summer Series on Talks and Seminars from REVIVE, our annual festival bringing the churches of the network to a field in Canterbury for a weekend of Bible Teaching, Worship, and great fellowship together as churches. This is from Ed Kendall on "Faithful at Church" Quite possibly, the most significant thing we'll ever do in our lives is to faithfully go to church, week in, week out. Why is gathering with other Christians so important? Why do we do what we do? And how can we make the most of these times? This seminar is both for those who love going to church and for those who really struggle with it. It will renew our vision for Sundays and help us see God’s genius in calling his people to gather together. Ed has been Vicar of St Michael’s Fulwell in Teddington since it was planted out of St Peter’s Fulham in 2014. He is married to Sally and they have three children, Harry, Bella and Theo. 31 Oct 2023 | ”Faithful with Creation” | Andy Palmer from REVIVE 2023 | 00:47:59
We've been away getting ready for a big church year, but we wanted to share the last couple talks from REVIVE, our annual festival bringing the churches of the network to a field in Canterbury for a weekend of Bible Teaching, Worship, and great fellowship together as churches. This is from Andy Palmer on "Faithful With Creation." We live at a time when the planet appears to be falling apart as a result of human selfishness, and Christian responses to the crisis have been polarised. Some have reduced their gospel down to mere environmental concern, whereas evangelicals have often tended to neglect this good endeavour out of a desire to save souls. How should we think about this creation? Come and see from the Bible the cosmic breadth of God’s mission to save, and how this might aid us in our evangelism. Andy, who is ordained in the Church of England, served at St John’s Downshire Hill after training at Oak Hill Theological College. He’s been ministering at Christ Church Balham for four years. 19 Jul 2023 | ”Jesus’ Courageous Faithfulness” | Jack Sara from REVIVE 2023 | 00:45:01
This is our Summer Series on Talks and Seminars from REVIVE our annual festival bringing the churches of the network to a field in Canterbury for a weekend of Bible Teaching, Worship, and great fellowship together as churches. This one is from Jack Sarah on Matthew 26. Jack is the President of Bethlehem Bible College (BBC). Born and raised in the Old City of Jerusalem, Jack studied at BBC after committing his life to Christ and his teachings. He soon became a member and leader in the ministry of the Jerusalem Evangelical Alliance Church, who in turn recognised his gifts and calling and encouraged him to go and study further for the work of the gospel. Acting upon this directive, Jack went to the Philippines to study at the Alliance Biblical Seminary, where he earned his MDiv degree. Upon returning to Jerusalem, he began ministering with his church and teaching at BBC. After serving and leading the church for 13 years as a senior pastor, he, and other like-minded leaders, saw the Alliance Church become a church-planting movement and a catalyst church. It reaches out, through a variety of means, to the Palestinian people and Arabs with the love of Christ. Rev. Jack holds a doctorate degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Missions and Cross-Cultural Studies. He travels around the globe, teaching about missions and cross-cultural work in the Middle East, and is a coordinator for the World Evangelical Alliance for the Middle East and North Africa. 25 Aug 2023 | ”Faithful In Suffering” | Andy Mason from REVIVE 2023 | 00:37:09
This is our Summer Series on Talks and Seminars from REVIVE, our annual festival bringing the churches of the network to a field in Canterbury for a weekend of Bible Teaching, Worship, and great fellowship together as churches. This is from Andy Mason on "Faithful In Suffering" If you have ever faced difficult things in your life, someone might have said – in an attempt to comfort you – that ‘God suffers with you’. But is this actually true, and is it a comfort? If it is true, what does it say about God – and us? In this seminar, we’ll be diving deep into theology and seeing how it connects in amazing and powerful ways with the struggles of our lives. Andy became a Christian as a teenager through the witness of a friend, and through reading a Gideon’s Bible. He’s married to Kathrine and has two children, Ori and Pella. He helped to plant St John’s Church Chelsea in 2006 and has been there ever since. He's also the Director of Strengthening for Co-Mission.

This is our Summer Series on Talks and Seminars from REVIVE, our annual festival bringing the churches of the network to a field in Canterbury for a weekend of Bible Teaching, Worship, and great fellowship together as churches. This is from Jo Evans on "Faithful at Work" Living for Jesus has never been easy, but Christians in the workplace today are increasingly concerned about the consequences they may face if they act in accordance with their conscience or share their faith in Jesus. This seminar will encourage Christians by reflecting on their God-given purpose in the workplace, touching on their legal freedoms and providing practical guidance on how to respond well to the thorny questions of our time. Ultimately all this will give us greater confidence to speak and live for Jesus. Jo joined the Evangelical Alliance in October 2020 and does project management, writing and resource creation in the advocacy team for the UK church.

We were blessed to be together with over 600 women from around London to worship together, hear God's word, and be encouraged at our annual Women's Day. We heard from Sara Snow from St. Paul's Harringay on the topic of Friendship by God's Design
London’s a crowded city that is hungry for friendship. Social projects and charities are springing up to help tackle loneliness and enable people to make friends. What about in the church? Don’t we long for our churches to be full of friendships that are deeper, richer and more sincere? Jesus said, “Love your neighbour as yourself”. What better place to start as we explore how we can be the kind of friends that God calls us to be.

13 Mar 2019 | Building Truly Diverse Gospel Communities | Felix Aremo from REVIVE 2018 | 00:24:38
One of our most popular seminars from REVIVE 2018 was "Is Your Gospel White and Middle Class?" presented by Felix Aremo, pastor at Brixton Local Church, and Alex Brito, pastor at Mosiac Multicultural Church. Their seminar brought up key and uncomfortable issues about how the church can present a singular culture that makes it irrelevant and inaccessible to those from minority cultures. Felix recorded his part in the Co-Mission Studio, which we are sharing here in a special edition of the Co-Mission Podcast. Felix wrote more on this topic in the summer 2018 issue of Co-Mission Articles- you can read it here: https://co-mission.org/article/building-truly-diverse-gospel-communities/ How did you find this special episode of the podcast? We'll be looking at how what the Bible says about women is good news for women—and how that frees us to live with increasing hope, purpose and joy. 31 Oct 2023 | ”Faithful in Singleness” | Dave Cornish and Jules Stroud from REVIVE 2023 | 00:37:39
We've been away getting ready for a big church year, but we wanted to share this last talk from REVIVE, our annual festival bringing the churches of the network to a field in Canterbury for a weekend of Bible Teaching, Worship, and great fellowship together as churches. This is from Dave Cornish and Jules Stroud on "Faithful in Singleness." Most of us would probably not have chosen singleness. Yet God’s word calls it a gift and calls us to be faithful in it. And faithfulness is a whole church project. We are coming together at REVIVE to think through some of the particular challenges of being faithful to Jesus as a singleton, and how we as a whole church family can encourage each other to keep lifting our eyes to him on the way. Dave, a member at Hope Church Sutton since the 2015 graft and an elder since 2019, joyfully leads their youth work. He teaches teenagers about following Jesus, and organises socials, camps and weekends away. Jules has attended Christ Church Balham since 2010, serving as a ministry trainee from 2015 and now as a staff member. She finds joy in helping people understand God’s love. Over the years, Pete has started and been directly involved with a number of evangelistic and gospel outreach ministries, including ‘Good News Bus Ministries’ and the ‘Big Issue’, a youth-leaders training day. Efrem Buckle Efrem, as Deputy CEO and Director of Training and Mentoring at London City Mission, draws on thirty years' experience in urban ministry, including twenty years as church-planting pastor of ecclēsia (South London). 19 Aug 2022 | ”Adoption In The City” Seminar | Andy Mason from REVIVE 2022 | 00:41:02
In the UK, there are roughly 80,000 children in care, with 10,000 of them being in London. What shall we do about this heart-breaking injustice? How can we represent our Father’s heart for the fatherless in our city? This week we hear from Andy Mason, Pastor at St. John's Chelsea. We'll look at the wonderful, challenging, life-changing reality of adoption! We promise to be compassionate but not sentimental about what is involved. The content will be practical, honest, straightforward, encouraging and hopeful. This is for those supporting adopters, prospective adopters (however theoretical!) and actual adopters and will involve input from a variety of people.

Later in the evening Jason Roach reflected on the passage and its implications. Check out our Facebook page here for videos from REVIVE and more.
02 Aug 2023 | ”Faithful In Culture” | Glen Scrivener from REVIVE 2023 | 00:41:49
This is our Summer Series on Talks and Seminars from REVIVE, our annual festival bringing the churches of the network to a field in Canterbury for a weekend of Bible Teaching, Worship, and great fellowship together as churches. We tend to think that some people have faith and others don’t – or can’t. But your friends and mine believe all kinds of things that can’t be proved. They live their lives based on values, intuitions and gut instincts that ultimately are based on the Jesus Revolution (aka Christianity). How can this help us to understand our culture? How can it help us to reach our friends? Three Video Links from the Talk 1. Everyone has faith — what's yours? - YouTube Direct Link: https://youtu.be/X3MQ_RIYBC4

Our guest speakers Thabiti and Kristie Anyabwile are joined by Philip and Jo Sidell from St. Peter's Muswell Hill. The session is hosted by Matt Fuller from CCM. This talk is part of our summer series bringing you talks and seminars from REVIVE.
