13 May 2021 | Using Dubsado in Your Financial Service Business | 00:47:55
We're continuing our mini-series about the tech that makes your bookkeeping and financial service life so much easier than it used to be in the past. And today, we are talking all about workflows. What is a workflow, you may ask? Well, it's everything about how you serve your clients, from the prospect phase all the way to them becoming a paying client. Things like sending your scheduler to get on a call with a prospect, sending follow-up emails, sending invoices -- sound familiar? The bad news is that all of these tasks can sap your energy and take up a lot of time. The good news is that you can automate all these processes! The more you can automate it, the easier and more streamlined serving your clients gets, which leads you to serving your clients better. Automation also frees up your time to do other things you want, or need, to do. So how can you be hands on with prospects and clients, while being hands-off at the same time? Enter Dubsado -- a platform that allows you to set up workflows for every phase of your customer journey. And to talk about Dubsado, we brought on Krystal Clark. Krystal is a Workflow Strategist helping service-based solopreneurs and small teams organize their business with systems and automation so they can work smarter, serve better, live freely, and be profitable. Through her Dubsado setup and consulting services, she helps you create a signature feel-good client process that wows your clients and helps you to manage your day-to-day with more freedom, confidence, and peace of mind. She's all about transforming the way you work so you can live life unchained from your desk while still wowing your clients into raving fans who refer you again and again. Hosted on Acast. On this week's series wrap episode, we look back at what we've learned about the various parts of marketing your business during the Marketing mini-series on the Spark Hustle Flow Podcast. Without marketing, nobody would even know that you HAVE a business, let alone hire you. Why? Because people want to work with service providers that they know, like, and trust. They really want to know that you are a real person, and not just someone who wants to make money off of them. In short, they want a relationship with you before they buy from you! Let's recap the most important things we've learned about:

20 Aug 2021 | Hiring a Social Media Manager for your MoneyPro Business | 00:33:15
Hiring a Social Media Manager for your MoneyPro Business If you've been around the Internet at all in the past few years, you know how important social media can be to grow your business. However, social media can sometimes be hard to understand. How do you do it "right"? The role of "Social Media Manager" has come into its own nowadays, where you can hire someone to manage your social media presence and communities. Today we talk to Keegan Jennings, who enlightens us on:
About Keegan: Keegan Jennings is "Head Homegirl" at Collab House Digital, where she helps solopreneurs increase their reach in the digital space through simplicity, consistency, and connecting—without the overwhelm. She loves all things business, especially social media marketing! She established Collab House Digital Marketing in 2019, after years of providing a wide range of freelance marketing services to small biz owners throughout the country. With a VP-level corporate background in Strategic Sales & Marketing, Client Relationship Management, Event Planning, and Business Development, she began to notice common pain points of solopreneurs… the responsibility of social media marketing and strategy fell onto the hands of the busy small business owner, who was already short on time and at capacity. From there, she was inspired to collaborate with solopreneurs and share knowledge and experience, helping them get their magic out into the online world.

09 Sep 2021 | Social Media Marketing Tips to Convert More Clients | 00:15:52
Today on the podcast I want to share some thoughts that I have on why money pros are struggling to connect with their audience. Over the past few weeks, we've had great interviews with coaches, course creators, and done-for-you service providers, who offered amazing tips and advice. However, if you don't know the underlying vision and purpose of what you want to do, having all the tools in the world won't help. Social media marketing is all about building relationships. I want to share 3 things that you need to know about your content marketing strategy, so that you can connect with your audience and convert leads into paying customers more easily. Listen to get my 3 tips: 1. How to become intimately familiar with your audience, 2. How to make your audience members feel special, and 3. How to use your existing knowledge and network to connect your audience to what they need at the moment – and why you should even want to do this. Hosted on Acast. If you missed it – make sure and go back to listen. As the seasons change, it seems like a great time to switch to thinking about decluttering – in your house as well as in your business. 01 Oct 2021 | Do you want an Evolution? It's time for Bookkeeping Pros to RISE UP | 00:11:47
Today I want to cover probably the most important topic on this podcast so far: I'm going to be sharing some perspectives I hold on the bookkeeping industry as a whole, and what I mean when I say "Bookkeeper Evolution." For decades, bookkeepers have been placed in a small, truly undeserved box. Most people think they are low-level data entry clerks who hand over their work to other people who are theoretically more important than they are. Bookkeepers have been undervalued, underappreciated, and underpaid for far too long. The Bookkeeper Evolution is my mission and movement to create structure around the change that is coming to the bookkeeping industry. It's beyond a belief system, marketing strategy, or framework. It's the culmination of my experiences of more than 30 years in this industry. In this episode, I talk about:

When I ask folks in my free Facebook group, The Bookkeeper Basecamp, what is one thing that they are struggling with right now, the answer that I get most often by far is: finding clients. In this episode, we talk about a language reframe of that, from "finding" to "attracting," and we explore 4 of the things that stop us from attracting the clients we want:
If any of these are hitting home for you, then you need to make some changes in your client attraction strategy. 19 May 2022 | REWIND: Ep 2 with Nikki Tucker | 00:23:07
Have you ever taken a trip down memory lane, and thought, wow, that was really fun, I should do it again? Well, that's what's happening on this week's episode. I've been answering a lot of questions about one of my favorite ways to build a network: referral marketing. And I've been referring people back to a past podcast episode I did with my good friend Nikki Tucker, who is a financial strategist for female breadwinners who are considering divorce. After about the 4th or 5th time I mentioned this episode, I realized I should just do a rewind episode and let you all listen to it again. Nikki's zones of genius are strategic thinking and training, and she uses that to show women how to confidently maintain their financial security whether they end up divorced or not. Nikki and I have known each other for years, so we had a great time talking about how she got started on her career path, how referrals play a role in her business, how she works with other financial professionals, and tips on how to develop professional relationships! 02 Jun 2022 | REWIND: Confidently Selling Your Services with Sara Dann | 00:22:09
We are continuing our short rewind series and sharing another incredible interview that we did a little over a year ago. Just like last week, I chose this episode because I've been getting a lot of questions and comments which are directly addressed in this episode: how to confidently sell your virtual bookkeeping services. Sara Dann is the queen of confidence, in my opinion. While Sara was my coach, my attitude changed from "Oh my gosh, you're picking me? Thank you so much!" to "You're f-ing welcome!" – with Sara's help. This is such a badass way of doing business with an attitude I will NEVER let go of again! It has absolutely changed my approach to business development, client fulfillment, and how I generally show up in life. And I'm sure it'll help you, too! Hosted on Acast. 01 Nov 2022 | Pushing Past Tragedy and The Bookkeeper Basecamp Reboot | 00:13:34
In this episode, I'm sharing with you some of the details about taking a step back, pausing, and rebooting my personal life, spiritual life, and business.
Content warning: grief, anxiety, depression/sadness.
Because of what's been going on in my personal life, I had to make some changes in my business. In the past 18 months, we've really focused on growing one platform: The Bookkeeper Basecamp Facebook Community. During that time, we launched our first and second cohort of the Bookkeeper Evolution Incubator. The next cohort will start in January, and will launch in December – make sure you join the waitlist.
As for the podcast, we will be talking more to other service providers in the bookkeeping space, so be on the lookout for more great conversations, with more small, bite-sized solo episodes sprinkled in between. We will also be switching to a seasonal format of 8-9 months with a break in between seasons.
We want to create programs and offers that are accessible at every stage of business growth, from just starting out all the way to Bookkeeper CEO.
In addition to the Incubator program already running, we will offer more on-demand courses, low-price and high-value membership offers for those who are just getting started and want to work with a coach, and masterminds for folks in the finance space.

17 Nov 2022 | Virtual Bookkeeping Niches - Exploring the Cannabis Industry | 00:45:45
There are 2 things that I hear all the time from new virtual bookkeepers for when it comes to finding and connecting with clients: 1 – the market is so saturated that it's hard to stand out 2 – they have chosen to not specialize in any one particular area or industry because they're afraid that the pool, that already seems small, will become even more crowded
If you have been around me for a while, you'll know that I am a huge supporter of knowing your strengths, and applying them when it comes to designing your marketing strategy. And a big part of a successful marketing strategy that makes you money is deciding what types of businesses you want to serve.
My guest this week agrees with me – and she did it herself. That decision has propelled her to create a successful financial services practice, and make some significant lifestyle changes at the same time.
During our chat, Simone and I talk about:
If you've been thinking about going from a general bookkeeper to one so specialized that your client roster is, as we like to call it, hooked, booked, and busy, then you definitely want to listen in as we talk with Simone about how she found success by niching down in the cannabis industry. 01 Dec 2022 | Dealing with your Fear of Selling your Virtual Bookkeeping Services | 00:48:55
One of the biggest challenges that virtual bookkeepers have is overcoming their discomfort or fear of selling their services. It's a huge challenge because as we all know, if you're not selling, you're not making any money in this business.
In this episode, my guest, client attraction and sales coach Leigh Ann Heil and I, break down some of these challenges and how you can overcome any fear you may have around selling. We also talked about how changing how you think about selling is absolutely critical for going from sales-challenged to sales-savvy.
When you have an ability to authentically share stories about yourself and your experiences, selling is much easier. Leigh Ann shares just how much easier it can be by sharing how her experiences as a musician helped shape what she does as a client attraction coach. With all the gems she drops during our conversation, you'll want to listen to this more than once, so be sure to bookmark it so you come back to it often.

15 Dec 2022 | 5 Things Every Virtual Bookkeeper Should Consider Going Into 2023 | 00:41:36
This week's episode is a replay of a live training I did over in the free Bookkeeper Basecamp community on Facebook. Paying attention to, and then implementing the principles I share in this training will help position you for success in 2023. If you're a virtual bookkeeper running your own business, or you aspire to start your own virtual bookkeeping business, you really ought to check out the community: I go live in that group at least 3 or 4 times per month to share my insights, offer free trainings, and host office hours to help you launch and grow your own successful bookkeeping business. These are the things I want you to focus on for the next 60 days or so: 1. The Law of Transformation Transformation beats transactions, when it comes to business. 2. The Law of Ownership Understand the pieces of the process that you own vs your client owns, and set expectations and boundaries accordingly during onboarding. 3. The Law of Optimization Have processes in place that help you manage your time so you are as efficient as possible. 4. The Law of Appreciation Recognize the value that your results create for your clients. 5. The Law of Leadership Position yourself as the CEO of your company, not an employee or technician of your company.
