Bennee went from being one of snowboardings elite street riders to an injury fueled drug addiction spiraling down to homelessness and depression only to push himself back up and rediscover not only himself but whats most important in life. His drive and amazing style on a snowboard brought contracts from major brands like Salomon, Nitro and Nike putting him in snowboarding’s spot light, just as he was at the top of his game a back injury had doctors saying he might never ride again, his only hope for a normal life was to turn to pain pills. He talks about losing long time friend J2 this past year and how he might have witnessed proof of an afterlife. Justin’s amazing story could be just what anyone fighting their own life battle needs to hear to help them say its time to do something about it. This Rider/entrepreneur talks difficult childhood, snowboarding, overcoming adversity and growing his business in his rags to riches success story. Growing up in Massachusetts he had it all, a perfect loving family living in a nice house. In the blink of an eye everything changed when at age 5 his mother was taken from him because of Leukemia. His father was devastated and turned to the bottle to numb the pain, to keep food on the table things around the house started to disappear until there was nothing left and next the house was gone. As his father numbed the pain with alcohol Chris found comfort in activity's like motocross and Snowboarding using them as a form of escape. Snowboarding connected him to people like Scotty Stevens and Chris Grenier, soon he found himself hanging at the snowboarding camps of Mount Hood Oregon pursuing the life of a sponsored snowboarder. Always in need of extra money Chris went to the camps pro sales with a box of sunglasses he had bought in bulk and painstakingly put tiny stickers on that read Dang Shades. Every week at the sale’s they would sell out and he was turning a mean profit. In an effort to sell shades year round he ran a myspace ad with a buy it now button and launched an online business. A real brand was born and Chris was selling Dang Shades direct from his website as well as to a hand picked group of Snowboard shops. Fast forward to age 18 and he has a full ride with Burton traveling the world flying first class with some of the worlds top pro snowboarders making over 6 figures. What goes up must come down, Burton made the call to let him go after being ill at a lifestyle shoot. Zak now a free agent recreates himself with a tight group of friends forming the Lick the Cat crew and then take’s control of his future himself by making his own edit called Trash. Building on the snowball of his success he wins an X-Games silver medal in 2020 for his amazing Real Snow video part. Hail Storm party’s like a rock star in the summers with the monster crew and when winter hits rip’s the streets at the top level of the game not to mention holding his own in any snowboard park with the world’s top riders. A Snowboarding spinal Injury, life in a wheel chair, Murder Ball, ride or die love and making sure you can find the humor in all of life’s trying situations all the while staying positive. This is the story of Tim Ostler. When Tim came crashing to the flat bottom of the Half Pipe he instantly realized something was wrong, he could not move. His body was twisted, not sitting right and what he did not know was his spinal cord was partially severed. In that moment he did know he would never snowboard again. As most people would spiral into a pit of despair and depression Tim took a different approach. Life in a chair was not going to be a death sentence. Instead he was going to be positive and take each challenge as they came and deal with this head on. His high school sweet heart Kellie was by his side and with a love as strong as theirs they were going to get though this together. Tim teaches us the most important thing in life is the people you surround yourself with, from friends to family its all about your relationships. As Tim adjusts to life in a chair he see’s the love from the snowboard community at a whole new level as they rally to do everything they can to help him adjust. He fills the desire to stay active by finding a new passion in a sport called wheel chair rugby aka Murder ball. He marries the love of his life and comes to the conclusion that he is pretty damn good at life in a Chair. Tim shows us how you handle these situations in life is what shapes you and makes you who you are. Lets navigate Tim’s Bomb Holes and maybe after hearing this story re-evaluate the problems that we all face. Maybe they just aren’t that bad and maybe if we learn from Tim we can get through them and live our life's to the fullest. Seth Huot is what we call a lifer in snowboarding. X Game’s Gold at 16 years old, Steroids and snowboarding, mental health, The first woman to do a cab double 1080, Getting barked at by Lucas Magoon, The Korea Olympics, drug testing and snowboarding, the perks of riding for Red Bull, snowmobile catching on fire, the current state of woman’s snowboarding and more! Hailey Langland learned how to ride with a crew of boy’s at a very young age. They got her riding fast and learning to really push herself so she could keep up with them. The formula seemed to work because at 16 years old she won the coveted X-Games Gold Medal and then went on to be in the Olympics. The sky is the limit for Young Hail’s and we will have a close eye on her in the coming years as she dominates the contest series and then move’s on to locking down video part’s. She has the best personality and is one of the most down to earth nicest people you will meet. Tyler Bereman is a third generation dirt biker who went from chasing down first place in motocross races to building his own custom courses and becoming a freerider in the dirt bike world. He is known for his whips that basically look like he has the ability to bend a dirt bike in the air and this move has won him gold medals in best whip contests and x-games as well as prominent video parts. His most recent exploit Red Bull Imagination just dropped last month where he built the super park of the dirt bike world and sessioned it with a hand picked crew of the worlds best talent showcasing the top level of in this genre. With three unique Red Bull projects under his belt in one year there is no telling what he will do next but its obvious the sky is the limit, literally. Tyler is the most chill down to earth guy you will meet and when asked by Grenier how he approaches these huge air’s he simply says “Don’t think, just go!!”. His love for the sport pushed him to get back on the snow even though the doctors told him he might not ride again. Lucas talk’s winning $100,000+ in contests, a traumatic head injury and coma, having a near death experience, he teaches us how to play Cee-lo, talks Sasquatch sighting’s, the Rutland Strong arm, quitting alcohol, fatherhood, Goon Gear and so much more! Lucas Magoon is one of Snowboarding’s National Treasures who influenced an entire generation with his style, gear and attitude. At the top of his career he suffered a near death head injury being pulled by a car while skateboarding. The doctors induced a coma that lasted two and a half weeks giving him a 50-50 chance of survival and said he would most likely never snowboard again. It was a long recovery that had many up’s and down’s but there is no holding someone like Lucas back and he was on a board and filming well before anyone thought possible. He is now 5 years off of Alcohol running his brand Goon Gear with his wife Tonya raising their daughter Winter in the east coast. Spencer Whiting AKA Gimbal God talks about following the riders off of huge jumps, being a human drone, an 11 day stay at the mental hospital, dealing with bipolar disorder, making his film shots look like a video game, paving your own lane, being more open about mental health and so much more. Spenny started out like most guest on this show, he was just a young kid who wanted to become a pro snowboarder. After spending time taking turns filming each other he started to realize that some of his friends were much better at riding then him and he might be smarter to continue filming. He was really good at doing follow cams and maybe this was something he could pursue. He started hitting the jumps with the riders showing viewers a fully new perspective. This new technique earned him the nick name Gimbal God. He decided he was going to make a go at filming but after an incident at the Denver Airport he found himself stuck at the mental hospital on what turned out to be an 11 day hold. He had just learned he was Bipolar and this would be a whole new challenge for him to conquer. Against the Odds Gimbal got a handle on this situation and dove head first into being the best filmer he could be. He started releasing edits that were unlike everything people have seen and the rest is history. She fell in love with Mammoth and the lifestyle that surrounds snowboarding, the only problem was she was just not really a competitive person. Through some luck she won the Green Card Lottery which meant for her she did not have to keep up with being on the New Zealand team and get a sports visa to stay in Mammoth and live the life she loved. Now, seemingly, she treats that .5% chance as if she won the lottery; welcoming each new challenge as an opportunity to learn more about herself and strengthen her mind and spirit.
