EDIT: Oliver is terribly sad to learn that John has passed away. He was a delightful man to chat to, very generous with his time and tremendously supportive. RIP John Challis (1942-2021). John Challis was one of the finest and most beloved actors this country has ever produced. Back in 1988, we were lucky to have his talents at the centre of the action of "Runaround", where bus driver Ian Gore goes berserk with a sledgehammer. Michael Chapman 1928-2022 It is with huge sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Chapman, who whilst serving as Executive Producer was the most important member of The Bill production team for over a decade; instrumental not only in the creation of the series, but also its enormous success in the 1990s. I’m sure I speak on behalf of all “The Bill” fans worldwide when I say that Michael’s work will be enjoyed, celebrated and appreciated forever.
